Shalom Aleichem!; we are continuing with our series on... The great importance and the obligation of doing Zikuy Harabim. We have here with us Rav Efraim Kachlon We really recommend everyone watching at home... To spread all these shiurim, to your friends and families; and to people that you know or do not know... On Facebook and other types of media... Because if a person really knew..about the divine assistance that he receives... And of the reward that he receives in this world due to Zikuy Harabim... He would dance joyfully in the streets and look for non-observant Jews to bring them to do Teshuva ! As Rabbi Yehuda HaNasi used to; as we explained in the previous shiur of the Rav. And this is really one of the things that we would like to discuss about today.. About the kind of divine assistance that people receive when they engage in Zikuy Harabim. Now after Am Yisrael left Egypt and reached The Red Sea... And we all of know the story about what happened next in the story of Pesach. All the plagues came to Egypt.. And HKBH destroyed the nation that was the greatest and most powerful in history... Just for his his dear Jewish nation. But even after all these miracles... There was a little lack of emunah. (faith) There was also a lack of trust in HaShem Because when we reached the Yam Suf (Red Sea)... Am Yisrael didn't really trust God... There..on one side was the Sea and the other side the Egyptians coming towards them. A part of the group thought maybe of returning to slavery in Egypt.. Another part said let's go to war with them.. Another wanted to jump into the Sea ! There was just a lot of confusion ! Now after this, we see there is a verse that we read everyday in our prayers... It says...''And then Israel saw the great hand of God that destroyed Egypt, they feared the Lord and they believed in the Lord and his servant Moshe.'' Now if we look carefully at these words and especially the order of these words within this precious verse... We can now understand how this affects us.. Everyday...Especially in the aspect of Zikuy Harabim. First of all before we arrived as to what the real purpose was... That of believing in HaShem and his servant Moshe Rabbeinu. Before we came to having full faith in HaShem... Firstly, as this verse says, ''Israel saw the great hand of God.'' Now first of all pay attention... At the ''hand'' of HaShem... How He... at every instance... Used his ''mighty hand'' to put us away from danger and care for us all the time. Now when we look carefully at these words we will see... All the wonders and miracles... This is what happened...after all the wonders and miracles that we saw.. In the land of Mitzrayim. (Egypt)... We thought... A part of the people there thought that maybe this is a coincidence... Maybe this is nature...or this or that... All kinds of things to explain their situation....Till they came to the Yam Suf. After we reached the Red Sea...HKBH parted the Red Sea... And destroyed all the Egyptians. After this, we finally realized...Not just that HKBH cares for us... But he cares especially for us ! Because, he performed the miracle at Yam Suf, just for Am Yisrael ! After this when we pay attention...how much he cares for us...how much he loves us...and how special we are to him... Then we can come to the realization of fearing God... And after we come to fearing God, we eventually have faith in him. So, right now...we won't speak about Yirat Shamayim (fear of heaven) and full faith in God... But let's look at the first thing that happened... Let's focus on the ''mighty hand'' of HaShem. If a person..understands... The meaning of this verse... He will understand that HKBH cares about him... And cares for all of Am Yisrael ! Each and every one of us is very important and dear...As we are the sons and daughters of HKBH. Now, if each one of us is important... So dear Jews...If you save just one of your fellow Jews... Then definitely HKBH doesn't just simply ''care'' about you for helping him... But you yourselves receive an importance in his eyes that is at an even greater level ! And as we spoke about in the previous shiur... That says; in the book of Jeremiah...''You will be like my mouth.''... A person that returns...a person that gets a glutton or let's say a secular person as they were... And he brings them back to Teshuva and makes the ''son'' of HaShem repent... So, HKBH tells him...''You will be like my mouth.'' You are already at a high level of importance...you have a special deal ! You are a VIP ! You are not like everybody else ! Why?...Because you cared about my sons and my daughters. Honored Rabbi... please relate to us some other instances...on how divine assistance affects us on a daily basis... Not just in the end...when we get to Olam Haba ! It is hard for people to really understand...What is this Olam Haba. (the world to come)... And even when there are many verses in the Torah that explain its meaning; we find it hard to understand as it is nothing comparable to anything in this world ! So how can we understand how this affects us here in this world ? RAV EFRAIM KACHLON : So just as Rav Yaron opened with the verse...''And then Israel saw the hand of God that he wielded against Egypt...'' First of all when we try to understand what happened in Egypt... Now we see that...As the Midrash says that in Egypt there were 49 gates of impurity. Now if Am Yisrael fell into the 50th gate we wouldn't have been redeemed... Now in an exact same way... And it is written that before the coming of the final redemption... We will be again in the 49th gate...And from there; the redemption will arise ! Like it was in the land of Mitzrayim (Egypt). Now a person that would like to be busy with Zikuy Harabim... Would think why he needs this headache. ''I am not Moshe Rabbeinu, and I am not Aharon''... God has not revealed Himself to me !... I don't have a magic wand...That will enable me to do wonders... Why do I need this mess ?... Let me sit down and learn and make sure I avoid the gates of impurity !... This is really the condition that is written about; before the coming of the redemption. So, if a person really thinks what would he say?... He would say that...I will sit in the Beit HaMidrash... With a holy book and whoever wishes to meet me is welcome to come ! If you want to meet the Rabbi, go to him right ! But what to do ?...Unfortunately the ignorance today in this world is at a maximum... To a level that the bridge; between a Jew that lives religiously and the Jews that are found in all other places of this world... Is so long...It is not just a distance of kilometers or Parasot, as in the language of the Gemara ... It is just a distance that is unbridgeable altogether. And why ?... Because an average person on the street is busy with work or travelling and flying to India or Thailand... Or goes to Wall Street to work and invest in stocks, etc... All kinds of vanities ! He never has the time to think, wait...maybe... Maybe the great Avreich at the Beit HaMidrash that I sometimes see on Shabbat... Maybe I really want to be like him. Why would he like to be like him..why ever would he do that ?... His Yetzer Hara gives him an endless amount of thoughts and excuses... That he just can't leave and think logically for a second. So there is a greater prospect that the Avreich would go after and meet with this man... Than that man coming to see him alone. So now truly this is what our duty is... Really the divine assistance that a person has... To come and bring (people) closer... And to remove the impurity they are in...Like in Mitzrayim (Egypt) with the 49 gates of impurity... From the souls of their fellow Jews... It is very much like the same divine assistance and also a similar role that Moshe Rabbeinu had ! Moshe Rabbeinu and Aharon... We have truly a similar divine assistance as them in terms of the Torah ! Whatever Moshe Rabbeinu said happened... Chas ve Shalom to one who fought or quarreled with Moshe Rabbeinu... In Parashat Korach Moshe Rabbeinu says... '' If HaShem brings out something unheard of.....''[Num. 16:1-13]" The Midrash now adds to it and says..."If there is a creation brought that was formed before the six days of creation, good; but if not let HaShem bring it about now......'' A mouth (hole in the ground) specially for him.... [the whole incident refers to the mouth (hole in the ground) that swallowed Korach] Why?...Because if one quarrels with a person, whose role is to bring Am Yisrael closer to God; and one who had received the Torah at Mount Sinai to lead Am Yisrael... As we said in the preceding shiur...Also because he (Moshe) cared for each and every one of Am Yisrael... Then the truth is that if you were fighting against Moshe you picked a fight against HKBH himself... So a person that is fighting against the Torah...And the one who fights against the Torah; HKBH tells him... No more ! (you are finished) This is to say that God will change the nature...In concern for this Jew... That no harm comes to him in any way...Or anything that could affect him negatively... So, HKBH protects this person from evildoers...and he has this divine assistance at all times... And really...as it is written in a verse in the Torah...''When HaShem is pleased with a man's ways, even his enemies make peace with him.'' As the Midrash says all his enemies...and even mosquitoes, cockroaches and other know not to touch him as he is a special person ! RAV YARON REUVEN : They are that afraid of that person! RAV EFRAIM KACHLON : Yes!...as this is a special person Now we talked about the part that deals with the negative. The good part...Apart from what we obtained from the verse that says ''You shall be like My (God's) mouth.''... So a person now stands and blesses...May HaShem bless and help you that you are able to do a full Teshuva..Amen!''...This kind of person really cares about others.... So now what comes out of it...Is really that after you make people do Teshuva Now you bless the people... And you wish for them a good life, health and prosperity... This gives you the strength to use again for Zikuy Harabim and kiruv. To do another mitzvah ! And also the blessing that you gave... Is really a mitzvah ! Why?..Here now you blessed him for Shalom Bayit (peace at home); or blessed them for having prosperity; blessed them for a speedy recovery or blessed them for divine assistance... So really you know that the blessing you gave him is really like a reward for him... And now that he will return to doing Teshuva...He will begin now and keep on going...As a mitzvah leads to another mitzvah ! So now the thing really to know... Which is also the experience which Rav Yaron has had and all the people that are busy in the process of Teshuva... In the beginning of this path...you don't always see that there is a divine assistance for you... RAV YARON REUVEN : Yes, it takes time! RAV EFRAIM KACHLON : What does it mean takes time ?... There is a person that says I called 3 times and I had no luck !... What do I need do?... I heard your first shiur and your second shiur...very beautiful and great job...But what do you mean it will take time?...What do I need to do? RAV YARON REUVEN : Now this is a big question that many people do not understand... That this is the thought that people have...So somebody might be thinking; OK you know what maybe.....We explained in more detail our last shiur... So he says ''I sent him the link and that's is it !...'' ''If he starts the process of Teshuva B''H, you receive your share of the world to come...And if not, you did your part! This is just the simple side ! Why ?...Because in the beginning of the shiur we said something very important... Quoting the words of our Sages that said...If a person chases after a Jew for 70 years... 70 years ! And in the end he gets him to do Teshuva... He gains his share in the world to come ! So, if HKBH that created everything... He created the heavens and the Earth and all the other things... He knows every Jew and non Jew...The individual hair on your head he knows! And even all your names...As HaShem had related to Iyyov (Job) Even down to the hair on your head...He knows everything ! So, he surely knows Am Yisrael very well ! So if he told you... That If you invest 70 years... It is also that he surely told you that it is not just that you spend time to send a single link... Not just that you say, hey my dear friend watch this movie and become religious... This doesn't really happen all the time! You have times when you will find diamonds... Sometimes B''H you have great divine assistance and there are miracles... The person is truly prepared, and is in a state that he really whatever HaShem needs from him he knows exactly what to do. Really...He just sees a few shiurs and he is truly on the path to Teshuva ! Yes this happens ! But this is not the standard ! The standard is that you need to try again and again a few times... The person will tell you ''stop bothering me etc.''... So OK no big deal; tell him to watch the shiur politely..And if not try again next week, or after a few weeks... And sent him more links ! He doesn't want to see them...OK, after a month passes by send him another link or give him another CD. He doesn't feel like it... Wait another month... Tell him ''Listen this Rabbi..Rav Zamir Cohen has come to our area.''... ''Come to his shiur; he is a genius and an amazing person.''... ''He knows about the natural sciences as well as the Torah, and he takes all of this wisdom from the Torah... And he teaches it in a style that is so amazing''... ''That you can understand whatever aspect of the Torah you want.''...So come to the shiur ! He asks ''How come he learnt all this wisdom ?'' Well ''He is just a special person.''...''You will know when you come to the shiur !'' Then out of nowhere he says, ''You know what I didn't tell you''... ''But I watched 5 minutes of the lecture by Rabbi Mizrachi.''... ''I didn't tell you but I saw like 10 minutes from the video by Rav Efraim.''... ''I watched his shiur and was a little interested, but I didn't tell you.'' And now all of a sudden he says ''You know what, I am coming !'' He is not doing this because he is bad. He does not want to do Teshuva now and is not ready yet. But now when he sees something interesting... So what does he do...With all the CD's and links that you gave him...He is just warming up. Just warming up! Five minutes here, two minutes there... So all the while he says I didn't see it...He saw two minutes and wasn't interested...Forget what he said. Next time five minutes...isn't interested Forget what he said... But after a lot of time and after a couple of years maybe... You will see a miracle in a second. This is what HKBH told us... Like when Yosef HaTzaddik...So to say received a punishment. He had a lot of suffering and hardships... Yosef HaTzaddik !... He suffered all these hardships But when HKBH finally came to redeem him...It took just a second ! Why ?...Because it is says that the Egyptians servants rushed him... They rushed him to Pharaoh. They brought him out of his suffering condition...washed, clothed and groomed him and within a second...All of a sudden he came out from suffering badly to becoming the #2 man in Egypt. Why ? Because when HKBH sends you your redemption... And sends you a special divine assistance... It is within a moment. So what is the deal here ?... One needs to understand... That if HKBH will give us a reward or a gift... Within a second...So with whatever you are doing...Mashiach will come within a week And that's it, no tests no efforts, nothing ! If every time a person gives 100$ for CD's or to a Rabbi that does kiruv... A 100$ to an Avreich that learns Torah from morning to night... And receives 200$... Even a Nazi would give money in that case. No! don't you think so ! RAV YARON REUVEN : Hitler would also give 100$. [RAV EFRAIM KACHLON : Hitler would be standing in line !] Oh Hitler would give 100 $ again or maybe give a million..Or he would say why just a million, he would borrow more money just for Tzeddaka. What's this ! If he received the reward on the spot, what would he do, he has no choice! We need to understand that HKBH... Does eventually pay us... For our efforts... That even after you...As we said in the shiur previously...Even if you are not successful... You will eventually get the reward ! So in the end when you finally continue to keep on trying and putting effort... In the end God will get you the results. This is the amazing thing... If you look at Divine Assistance...A person within just a second does Teshuva, and he strengthens you now. This is the second aspect of the divine assistance that you get... A person...that sometimes is strong (in faith) but he thinks that he needs to get to the second level, or a higher stage than he is now.... He puts on Tefillin everyday... He keeps Shabbat, kashrut... But...Modesty is not fully observed by his wife and she doesn't have the proper kisuy rosh (head covering)... Kashrut actually...sometimes yes and sometimes no... Not always the most respectable things... There are a few things that are not 100% observed... But now if you get a person to do Teshuva... He strengthens you ! While strengthening himself in his faith...he strengthens you ! So now you see an amazing thing here ! You feel HaShem's presence...You don't just believe in him; but you feel his presence ! And this is the thing that I have seen in myself... And I see this everyday...Because whenever someone sends me a letter... About how their lives have changed due to the shiurs... How when he sees the CD that I had sent him... Or one of the shiurim that we recorded... All these things that truly change people's lives, actually strengthen me ! Really...There is this guy that I know... That... Is on the path to conversion to Judaism... And I sent him a few books, CD's and other stuff... So now, I forgot where he lived... Well there are B''H so many people I know, so I can't always remember where they live...But I somehow thought I knew he lives around California...Or at least that is what I thought. So we flew from Florida to California... And so we were holding a few lectures there... I told him, listen I am in California, come to my shiur if you are living close by. Yes that was the case ! He said yes for sure! I can make it to your lecture, I will come. I thought it was a great idea. So this person came, a few minutes before the shiur... And so now we spoke a little...I asked if everything was good, you were able to make it on time...Do you live close by?...How long was the ride? He said ''No, it wasn't that hard for me, only 7 hours.'' 7 hours ! What do you mean 7 hours ? He said : ''I live in Arizona !'' Wow ! in Arizona !...And you traveled for 7 hours. He said yeah it was no big deal at all. Are you going to see the shiur ?...Oh yeah is no big deal...I will travel another 7 hours after the shiur to get back home. Why then we make such a fuss to even go to the garden outside ? 14 hours ! He traveled all 14 hours to come just to listen to shiur Torah ! And so I said that day before, during and after my shiur... That I don't know if I came there to strengthen or be strengthened Because he strengthened me for sure. He traveled 14 hours for the sake of this shiur Torah ! RAV EFRAIM KACHLON : It is truly through great divine assistance that you got to witness such a thing.... That this man...Isn't he like a person that people would think is for sure homeless ?... That he has nothing do in in his life !... How can you imagine this !...14 hours for this !...When a person hears this... That this person leaves whatever is his behind...Everything ! He has a family and business... He has a life to live ! He stops it all...Leaves it on the side...And for 14 hours he travels, for that 1 hour of shiur Torah ! RAV YARON REUVEN : This is something amazing...This is something...... RAV EFRAIM KACHLON : This is divine assistance in action ! So now really the viewers at home must be saying...''Oh OK this is a good story.''... But let's start from the beginning... Everyone would have asked you Rav Yaron...How long did it take you to make the very first person do Teshuva ? RAV YARON REUVEN : The first man...Was a guy named Nissim. He...He came to the shiur that I held at my home... And he was always the first one to arrive. And in the first shiur in was just me and him ! In the second shiur there were more that did Teshuva and came to hear us and so slowly people added up... And I told him from the beginning...Listen I have to come here to judge you...Or to tell you that you are this or that.... I am telling you what is in the Torah...And I am telling you what HaShem has written... That what He has said...Not what I am saying...Not my opinion...What, who am I ? I am just telling you what HKBH wrote in his Torah... What to do, and what is forbidden ?...What is the true story and what is not ?... And what is the truth and what is false... And you can do whatever you wish ! We both agreed, and that's it ! B''H the guy sat down and we studied together... And after 4 shiurim... We had by that time already talked a few times about Shabbat... Because by now it was after a month since we began studying each week... He said...Maybe I didn't understand your shiur correctly...''What do you mean when you said it is forbidden to drive on Shabbat to the synagogue ?'' I didn't understand if that was even a question to ask ! RAV EFRAIM KACHLON : It's as simple as Alef Bet, what did he want ! RAV YARON REUVEN : I told him, it is forbidden to drive on Shabbat... He said : Yeah but also to the synagogue ? To go to the synagogue is a mitzvah right ! I told him no way there isn't such a thing, who told you this ? He said I have been driving to the synagogue for the past 20 years...Even once nobody told me about this ! Now the viewers can tell him that he was so naive and simple... He is not at all like that...Why because he just doesn't know the Torah ? He said, ''I know it is forbidden to go to the mall, or the seaside etc. on Shabbat, but to go to the synagogue also!'' ... ''They have parking for synagogues on Shabbat !'' The Rabbi never told me that and the whole congregation knows what I do, and they don't say anything. They do it too anyways ! The Rabbi never ever told me anything...He never raised the point...Not once...For 20 something I didn't know anything ! That's it, that's the ignorance that the Rabbi talked about! We just don't know...Don't know... So what do we know ?...We think we know about Noach as portrayed in movies. We think that's how it is said in the verses of the Torah... If there is a movie on Moshe Rabbeinu we think that is exactly how the story unfolded in the Torah. This is all what, unfortunately the majority of Am Yisrael knows !... We are just ignorant ! So now I told this man (Nissim), listen... It is forbidden to drive on Shabbat...It is good that you go to the synagogue, but you are obligated on keeping Shabbat and obligated on going to synagogue. It is good !...Do go to the synagogue...But if you need to choose one...Of course Shabbat ! The 10 commandments do not include going to synagogue, they include Shabbat ! A person needs to understand this...Even when I told this person something very basic in the Torah, not a big deal...Just something as simple as not driving on Shabbat... And that includes not going to the synagogue or for anything except for a life risk... A life risk that is really serious, like you need to check a person if they need to go the hospital...Or else there is a chance that they would die... Not that a person fell down and broke his finger... Something that would really risk one's life or things like that ! So I convinced him about this truth... And so Nissim told me... So I must keep it ! Yes, do it, what is the big deal !... I told him just keep one Shabbat ! I told him don't think about the Shabbat that would follow...Or think about the next year or keeping it for your whole life now... Just one Shabbat !... See it how it feels !...What is the big deal ! Come at my place maybe...If you come here, have a nice meal and it would be fun ! Don't you think !...He told me OK why not ! B''H this man has been keeping Shabbat for two years. And it's not because he acquired some great ''wisdom'' or something... RAV EFRAIM KACHLON : But it was after how much time exactly that he started this? RAV YARON REUVEN : A month! RAV EFRAIM KACHLON : A month of learning from your shiurs ? RAV YARON REUVEN : Yes...It was actually once a week...With each shiur lasting 2 hours on a average... I sent him links here and there, whether he saw it or not...I sent him some CD's and books also in the beginning but nothing happened, as he didn't do much in the start... Outside of the two hours he was in my lecture...Nothing! But to tell you the truth...Something that really touched him... That he felt I care about him !... Because when I told him...come with me !... That's all...He asked really ?...I said why not please join me...You want to now keep Shabbat come at my place. I said come for a meal at my place...He lived close to my house...maybe 15- 20 minutes away...Come at my place...Have a meal in the evening, then one in the next day afternoon, that's all ! Nothing more! So now when he saw that I really cared that he keep Shabbat and that it is of great importance... It is not just I tell him do do something, the sky opens up and we expect a gift.. ''He cares so much that I keep Shabbat''...So he thought OK I guess it's worth it ! And also another thing,I told him not to commit right now for the rest of your life...Even though it is a must to do it...But don't think of it now... Because to think this way that you will have to now change your whole way of life now, it will be too much...A lot for him. So I told him to just keep that Shabbat...And after this think about the next Shabbat. After the first Shabbat, he enjoyed it so much, that he asked for keeping the Shabbat next Shabbat....I said yes why not ? And so it went on and on... There are some people that took more time...Some took 3 months, some 4 months..There are some that haven't returned to keeping Shabbat yet...Because... They are not yet ready to change their way of life and be blessed... But really the majority of people that come to the shiurim... And they invest their time in it... B''H, Yishtabach Sh'mo Laad... Every one slowly starts keeping Shabbat, putting on and accepting Tefillin... They strengthen in their faith... And I am not saying this because I am like a person who studied Torah for 700 years and I am wise...Who am I in front of HKBH ! I just tell people that in the minimum they should do what is important in the eyes of HaShem ! ''And Israel saw the great hand of God''....I tell them about who and what this great hand is all about...That's all ! I don't tell them, listen to this chidush...''This is the the big sign and this is the little sign (of the miracle)...And that Rabbi Akiva said this etc...I don't say anything...'' I just ask who is the great hand here ?...Do you want miracles and wonders in your life and that HKBH give you something special, and love you a little extra ?... This is the ''great hand.'' Everyone prays for the sake of prosperity...Everyone prays for a speedy recovery...Everyone prays for a spouse...And everyone prays for the nice things in life !... Here This is it!...This the ''great hand'' of God... Doing his will ! And nothing more ! RAV EFRAIM KACHLON : Amazing ! It's great that sometimes a person...Actually there are 2 lessons we can learn from this... First of all; for 20 years this man went to the synagogue and thought all along that this is a mitzvah. Now after his death, when he is judged in the court of heaven, he would think his actions entitle him to Gan Eden for sure, but the angels would tell him otherwise... So when this Jewish man arrives to his judgement, he thinks that for sure... RAV YARON REUVEN : This is our problem ! That he has done a big mitzvah!... Year after year for 20 years... So truly once again we see how all this obligates us... We have with us a Jew that for 20 years comes to the synagogue... And you know that for these 20 years he came to the synagogue, he didn't do a mitzvah... So if we don't tell him, we are accused (in heaven) ! So now what does a person say... Hey it's a democracy...Don't bother him...I am democratic...If he chooses to do something is he asking me ? RAV YARON REUVEN : Or - ''Did he ask me ?'' RAV EFRAIM KACHLON : Yeah, or why should I care what he does. RAV YARON REUVEN : ''Yeah why doesn't he know about it ?'' RAV EFRAIM KACHLON : So there is this Midrash which is a bit different... And this Midrash says something amazing... The Midrash relates...Once there was a group of Jews that were sailing at sea... And every man had a room in the ship... It was quite a big ship with many tens of rooms in it... It was quite a big ship...A big one ! There was this one person in his room...And all of a sudden people heard drilling noises from the room of this man... So the people who were managing the ship and the crew came over and knocked at his door... He opened the door and asked them what they needed. ''We heard that somebody was drilling''... (He said)''Yes just need to drill some holes in the bottom of my room...'' ''Why do you need these holes?''... ''I just need to make sure I have a swimming pool, where I can swim a bit''... So just go on, I will just need a few holes and be done in a bit when I have some water here ! They asked this guy ''Are you normal ?''...What's your problem this is my room...And this is just for me ! This service is not included here !... They said, ''What pool, go to another place for a pool or jump into the sea, what do you want here !'' He pushed them all out...And then he locked the door and continued... So they all together started knocking at the door...He didn't open...So they broke the door, stopped him and caged him till the end of the journey so he doesn't go wild. Why ? Because if he would make one hole in the ship, the whole ship would drown along with everyone in it ! Now if they all want to say...Why not we have democracy ? You do what is good for you and we do the same for us... No problem, you want to make holes, great...Actually let us help you, if you need...Why not let us help you ? It says ''And they believed in HaShem''... They really believed in God! (after seeing his miracles)... If you already care about a Jew...Because he is a son of HaShem...Or because she is a daughter of HaShem... So you surely have a little emunah (faith)...Maybe you have not yet got full faith... But still, you have faith; And you know who HaShem Yitbarach is, and you know his power...That's it ! So now you think to yourself logically... If there is a father who is very rich... Let's say the richest father the world... And the richest ever in history... There is none like him !... But pity him, he lost one of his sons... A big rabbi that makes 100,000 or 150,000 Jews do Teshuva... People cannot stop searching...To search and scrutinize the smallest details in his actions where they can bring him down. How is this possible ?... One of the things we can start with and let the rabbi complete this whole thing is... The thought to ponder is that...The yetzer hara (evil inclination) says...''Oh you brought back one of my bodies...Thanks a lot, they are my workers''... He gives him all the honor, since he helped the yetzer hara in securing one of the sinners, one of the workers that works for him... So that is why he gets all the honor and all the gratitude. So now if we talk about someone who makes people do Teshuva and leads them out of their Mitzrayim (Egypt)...From the 49 gates of impurity... So we see that also when the Egyptians chased after Am Yisrael... And they had tremendous hardships and all that they passed through in the Exodus story... The Torah doesn't say that while leaving Egypt with Moshe Rabbeinu they came out of the desert and were invited to a nice air conditioned room with whipped cream and strawberries waiting for them!... Do you know how they came out in the beginning ?...What more do you need to know ?... The whole nation of Israel believed in Moshe Rabbeinu...Can you imagine millions of people and their children leaving and crossing the desert !...This is not logical...What more can you say ! They believed in Moshe Rabbeinu and left... Good, so where was all the whipped cream, the fruits and the cakes ?... RAV YARON REUVEN : There were only disasters ! RAV EFRAIM KACHLON : Yes, there were problems in the beginning...But after that HKBH opened up the sea for them... Made such a historical miracle, that there can never be a comparison...All the waters on the planet split at the same time !... What does it mean all the waters?...A person in China having a cup of water would have seen the water split in his cup!... Otherwise how could they get the strength to chase after them..This is not logical don't you think ? The Ten Plagues that happened to the Egyptians would break a person's soul... And on top of that, Am Yisrael didn't want anything from them...So what were they doing ?... The power of the impurity!...Convinced them, ''Here I have millions of people that were slaving for us for 210 years''... It was not just physical slavery...You have to see that when Am Yisrael fell to the 49 gates of impurity they were also worshiping strange idols... They were at such a low level ! He wanted to borrow 5000$... I said OK, why not?...I thought to myself that I invest 50-150,000$ minimum...And this guy needs 5000$, what is that for me!... On top of that I felt bad for the poor guy...So I gave him 5000$ on the spot... The guy disappeared... He didn't call back or write...Nothing ! His wasn't working anymore...He became incognito!... Not just for a few weeks...But years !... Now at the same time we passed through all my health issues and my losses in business... B''H...But I had already forgotten the whole story by now... I think maybe not more than 10 years had passed by that time... By now I had already got myself busy with Zikuy Harabim, and B''H learning Torah, helping strengthen people's faith and distributing Torah CD's...Until one day... And even the rabbi doesn't work... But B''H we have food, and we have a house...What more do we need ?... No I don't have the million dollar rich lifestyle as I had once...Because I don't need it... I am richer then I have ever been in my life as regarding my soul... And I know that when a person starts doing Teshuva...He starts to keep Shabbat and put on Tefillin, and B''H has an Orthodox wedding... And his wife keeps the laws of family purity and covers her head...Then there is one guy that goes to the Kollel everyday and has become an Avreich there... People converting to Judaism... All the million, do not compare to even one hour...They cannot match one hour of this in... And this is what a person needs to understand... That the reward is just so great and really the joy from it is unbeatable... That all the divine assistance I just told you about is only a single day in my life... Just a single day !... We receive this everyday but you need patience...You need to put efforts...You need to combat the yetzer hara that is bothering you... Because for him, you are stealing his servants... You are stealing his workers...What do you expect, that he be nice to you?... It won't work !... This is also a matter that is important to us...Last time we spoke about a topic... That when Am Yisrael came to Mount Sinai and because they didn't say anything the Erev Rav did a severe abomination worshiping idols...And HKBH without a doubt wanted to destroy us all. Now the Midrash here in Masechet Avodah Zarah also teaches us that... And it tells us the story... About Yaakov and Esav... So Yaakov and Esav...Yaakov representing Israel, and Esav (the nation) of Edom. And really the Midrash here tells us.. In the name of Rav Gedalia Schorr...In his book Ohr Gedalyahu... On his commentary of Parashat Toldot... He says that really when HKBH made Yaakov and Esav... They were formed connected to each other like this... With the intention that they would really complete the purpose of this world... Yaakov became the man that sat in tents of learning... And Esav became a great hunter... So that one complemented the other...One excelled in his thing and the other in his pursuit...And together they would complete the purpose of the world and all would be great... But sadly, Esav ended up failing in his purpose...He failed... He didn't do what he needed...So what did Yaakov do...He had to do the job of both now !... So on one side you will say...Yaakov the peacemaker, or Yaakov the righteous, as he turned out OK...He won !... But because Esav fell...It has been hurting us till this day...Because Esav is Edom... Edom became all the enemies of Am Yisrael... All our enemies...Whether they were the Nazis or the Spanish Inquisition...All the evil that we have suffered throughout history, especially from Rome...It all came from Esav ! Because Esav failed in fulfilling his role we are suffering to this day... So it is forbidden to us that we let this continue in the same way... And to let the secular Jews stay secular... Or let the atheists stay that way... Or those that don't care about HaShem to be that way... And to make sure even those who think they are religious but don't actually observe fully are shown the right way... We have to strengthen everyone...All of Am Yisrael... Even if you feel somehow that you are super righteous and you follow and learn the Torah all day and are strict with keeping Shabbat, and everything else... OK good you are in the footsteps of Yaakov... There is no difference between you and Yaakov... But at the same time if your children might end up suffering for generations..That's not fair how can you be so selfish!... Why?... Esav is still here...We need to save him!
