>> I would like to wish everyone a happy
and successful Zos Kanuka. Today is a
day of such apicious
apicious power. uh that each and every
person, every Jew and literally through
us, every person in the world could
theoretically affect great things today,
but particularly the Jewish people. So I
want to address the awesome power of
this day and pose a couple of questions
to help define it and so we can
appreciate we're giving this as a
wrap-up to our observances of Kaneka,
the eighth day of Kaneka, which is
called Zot Kaneka. We'll explain why.
and uh what the significance of this day
is to us at this point in our lives and
this point in the history of the world
and this point in the history of
Claustra. Today is a day of decision
and I'm going to quote you the sources
and explain to you a little bit about
their impact. Why is the eighth day of
Khaneka so important? Why is it um
considered a day when many many great
sadikim would have special gatherings?
And this is based on something from the
Zora kadosh. So this is a deep
cabalistic secret that was not even
passed down in an open way until our
generations. It's a it's a very
well-kept secret and may hark back all
the all the way to the days of Yakov.
Let me explain why.
We all know that the main curiosity of
Kaneka is as my Kaneka is what really
what really is the celebration all about
and the most classic question of course
is why the particular eighth day 8 days
is not a typical number in the Jewish
calendar as the Maharal points out in
his he says we generally work with the
number seven with six days seven days is
shabas that's the seder of creation the
eighth day is not something relevant to
the human experience
and uh all the toim that Hashem gave us
through the holy Torah and the Torah
itself. The Torah is a cycle of sevens.
You have Shabbat, we have creator and
shabas. The uh the portions of the Torah
are allocated to Shabbasim and um but
the completion of the Torah is on an
eighth day. What do I mean by that? On
which is Torah, the day which has become
infamous in these last several years. uh
as a critical international
national national crisis not only for
the Jewish people for the world and its
struggle to
um determine and sort out good from
evil. The attack of course of October
7th in Gaza and the world's reactions
till today until this very Kaneka are
filled I would say with the bilbool of
tovara people don't really understand or
wish don't wish to understand how to
sort out the truth and how to sort out
the emis and what the implications are
and what's the tove and what's the ra
it's such a bilboo it's be to vavu it's
is as if the world was completely
confused misled led or being um confused
by their own thinking. And this speaks
to a concept that Rabbi Nakman spoke
about in his safer Torah 61, which is
really one of the seminal Toras of Rabbi
Nakman. And it's also considered by
those familiar with his writings as his
last will and testament. So what Rabbi
Nakman says over there is something
super powerful and very relevant to the
a day of Kaneka about sorting out all
the the the horrible mess of our within
our thinking in which we have
we just don't know what is good and what
is evil. The has has his voice
has its voice and our has a voice. And
often times we are confounded with what
which choices to make. Sometimes it's
clear, sometimes it's less clear. But
always always there's the danger of
convincing oneself or thinking oneself
into a particular way of thinking that
locks you in and doesn't allow you to
reveal the truth. For example,
in in processing the events of Bondi
Beach, which is a clear act of evil, if
there were ever an act of evil,
uh this is an example and of course
we've seen so many in recent years which
thoughtless and people who were bound in
their world of thoughts and committed
horrific deeds and logically they were
convinced that what they were doing was
something to right necess necessary. Um,
so that's what this people convinced
themselves by standing there and
shooting Jews on a beach who are trying
to observe Kaneka that this is a good
thing. This is consistent with a noble
philosophy and cause
certainly the people who have been
protesting on behalf of Gaza, not
looking beneath the surface to see what
it is that they are championing and to
attack Israel with such venom. I saw a
reporter sadly speaking to Secretary of
State who I thought was a real Israel
champion and now I'm not so sure. He
said venomous things about Israel
killing children and such and such and
how can you let this go on as if they're
such victims in Gaza and Israel's such
heartless murderers of children. And
then the the secretary of state didn't
deny it. He said, "Yeah, we're trying to
calm we made peace. We're trying to calm
the situation down. It's not easy." He
himself didn't deny at least not
forcefully deny
the bilsh
is the concept of denim.
Dinim are conclusions,
executions of thought that lead to deed
and also to reality. So when a person
has in their mind a certain evil
thought, he thinks it into reality. the
shooter did that. He thought he
radicalized. They found pictures. They
found, I think, flags of ISIS in his
car. I'm really sure. I don't know that
the details will emerge. I don't know if
they'll allow them to fully emerge
because there's a lot at stake here for
the world who wishes not to see the
blind evil and to deny it. And this is
particularly what the eighth day of Khan
is all about. meaning utter clarity. The
clear light that shines where we can no
longer be in the darkness of our own
misconceptions,
our own misunderstandings
and our own self-promoting
uh uh justifications of evil.
So
said he says anything you're diff
anything anything that that creates
difficulties in life painship suffering
hardness is the concept of denim and
that comes from our thoughts.
Our thoughts like I said we think a
certain way and therefore because we
think a certain way we experience
suffering pain or we inflict suffering
and pain. There was a Jewish couple
that's world famous in the world of
entertainment
uh going all the way back to the 70s and
films and this is uh the producer Rob
Reiner very well-known Jewish producer
and his wife who was Jewish
was murdered in senseless fashion by
their own son who was a drug addict who
was violent and uh you know I give them
the benefit of the doubt that they did
everything that they possibly could to
raise this child. But this child
uh um murdered them, either choked them
to death or knifed them to death. What
son does that to a parent? And that
illness of the mind led him to believe
that they deserve this fate. Those are
called denim. Now I'm not saying
anything about the situation because I
don't know the details. But I do know
one thing
that this Mr. Riner was a was a virulent
opponent of Donald Trump
and any and promoted every liberal cause
known to man. There's a has many many
Jewish celebrities.
If you look through the list of Jewish
celebrities, they're heavily many of
them are heavily anti-Israel.
I have to mention names. very famous in
the most famous films of uh of our era.
They're outstandingly leftist liberal
and outspoken against Israel and against
any right-wing values.
And look how sad that what ended up is
that
they ended up victims of violence. the
very violence that they accused Israel
of
instead came
into their doorstep. I'm not suggesting
any sort of that justification for their
tragic loss, but I think I do think that
Hashem is getting people's attention and
ashkis is to take such a celebrated
figure u made some of the movies that
are most dear to Americans. I don't to
can't tell you that I've watched any of
them. I really haven't. I really don't
know that I have. But I know that he's
the the level of fame that this person
has and his level of unspokenenness
in in against Donald Trump who is also
not so perfect. Let's put it that way.
um
and they can took the liberal high
ground and assumed positions of moral
greatness and authority. Well,
no one can assume that righteous
uh self-righteous liberalism is an
answer to the problems of violence,
drugs, hatred, failure of human beings
to elevate themselves above their most
animal instincts and drives. It doesn't
necessarily help to pump money and pump
goods and services into the hands of
people who only know violence. So the
Palestinians themselves, quote unquote,
or the Gazins,
they saw the Bondi Beach massacre and
they said, "Oh, the Mossad did it to
curry uh favor for the Jews." That's a
typical go-to because the possibility
that maybe their approach is false and
evil never occurs to them and will not
occur to them because they have made the
den. They've made the judgment. They've
executed Israel in the court of moral
inquiry. I'm not saying Israel is above
blame. Far from it. Far from it. We all
must always
look and see are people behaving
according to the will of Hashem. Well,
who can say that?
Who can say that collectively?
Okay, we struggle to do it every day and
we're not even being asked these
questions of how to conduct politics,
war, uh, negotiations with the outside
world. No one's asking the world of
Torah their opinion. Not outside the
world and not inside the world, but
people who seek the truth do.
And um Zos Khaneka
uh is that day in which is above the
seven. We lift our we lift our heads
above the confusion of the world of
and we have one day of
the
Torah.
Okay. Rabbi Nathman calls this the Evans
Shashia, the foundation rock of the
world from whence all think of it as a a
central a central knowledge or
intelligence which is called
in the world of of Zohar it's the upper
worlds and there's a statement by the
Basar it's quoting the Zohar
amoy
This means until Hod which is the
associated with Aon, the miracle of the
lighting of Anora which which we read
today on the eighth final day of Kanek
is the reading of Aaron lighting the
lamps and the beta mikdesh on the very
first day of the of the consecration of
the oh moed of the Mishkan which is the
day in which the world was reconstructed
the way it ought to be. The miniature
world. I think there's a place called
mini Israel. Laavdo, right? Little
Israel. Well, little world is the
Mishkan. Little world is the beta mash.
You can come and look at the model and
then go home and build it wherever it is
that you want. Bring its light wherever
you want. Today is the day in which mini
world is is actualized on a on on its in
the spiritual realms in the realms of uh
of the ultimate truths of Hashem. And we
down here in this world are given such a
power
for parnasa for blessing. We ourselves
have the power of sadikim today. Did you
know that? Did you know that according
to us from Kadoshim, you don't need
necessarily
to go out and rely on anybody else but
yourself today to dive into Hashem and
to receive open miracles such as women
who have not had children to be
remembered like Saru
like
uh bringing down Parnasa for situ for
situations and bringing down health for
desperate situations.
Today is our day and I'm going to
explain it a little bit at a time. Here
we go. So, first point again to
summarize is that
all judgments and harsh things in the
world as we have seen such as bondi
beach, such as the Gaza wars, such as
the internal strife within Israel
itself, such as the hatred of the
nations who have declared that Israel
does not have a right to exist in
I don't know what it does exist. They
they'll allow Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv is
acceptable, but beyond Tel Aviv, maybe a
few towns, but that's about it. Nothing
too Jewish.
Nothing that reflects the seven of
Kaduca Shabas and Torah. And certainly
nothing that reflects the eighth level,
which is beyond which is the realm of
Hashem, Malim, Kadoshim, and the world
to come. But we are sitting today in
that world. The eighth day of Kaneka is
that day. It's the same day as the
eighth day known as Shminias.
And let me explain why. So what we said
was that
the confusion of the world gets
clarified today potentially by every
person. And that Rabin says explains how
that works mechanically. He says there's
a device
called allowing your lower brain the the
brain that only goes to the world of
seven our natural world to elevate and
connect with a higher a higher wisdom
and that higher wisdom is known as Evan
Shashia.
It's where
everything emanates from in terms of
thoughts and so there's you know
ironically milliondoll
even non-Jews have not revealed this in
the 1800s people have picked up this
idea
even non-Jews have picked up the idea
that there's something known as a
collective consciousness there's a
higher wisdom in which everything is
unified
um individual judgments go against
individuals.
Everybody has their problems.
They have their problems with children.
They have their problems with health.
They have their problems with perna.
They have their problems interrelating
with neighbors and friends and community
and government and whoever else it might
be. And then the countries have their
interactions and the world has its
interactions. Correct? But those are all
specific. Those are all from this world.
On the highest level
there is the root of all
of all
we cannot allow our consciousness to
elevate to Hashem's
complete unified consciousness which we
do through learning Torah through
observing Yamtoim and particularly in
observation in observing Kaneka and the
in particular the final candle of Kaneka
we are reaching for something that will
help us down here in our suffering
world.
Of course, there are wonderful pleasures
in this world.
But no one is free of denim and
judgments. It's just that's the nature
of our world. In fact, the zora says
that there are 24 heavenly courts, one
ruling every hour, which means man is
constantly evaluated every hour of the
day. What you did at 10:00 p.m. to 11:00
p.m. is not going to be the same
outcome. You're not going to get the
same report in heaven as what you did
from 11 to 12. Okay? And each one needs
a little bit of fixing. Why did Hashem
do that? Because he wants us to elevate
and fix all problems. How do we do that?
And get rewarded and get and get the
pleasure of Hashem embracing us and
earning our reward. That's why Hashem
does all this what he wants to torment
people. No, he wants us to rise above,
figure it out, and open the cage to our
own prisons of thought.
So, how do we get there? We have to have
some sort of opportunity. There has to
be a ladder that opens, a door that
opens up that we can climb through
occasionally to peek through to remind
ourselves. It's kind of like when you're
in a dark room, right? And then you need
to move around the room. But if somebody
will open the window just for a moment
or for an hour, you'll map it all out in
your head and then you'll be able when
they close the window, you'll know where
to go more or less or more. That's what
we are extended on this day and on
several other points in the year. And
let me explain
the idea of the the idea conceptually of
this cababalistic notion that on the
eighth day of Kaneka is this final day
of the high holiday period.
In other words, you thought the high
holidays concluded with Torah within.
No, there's another shini. There's the
shmini of the eighth day of Kaneka which
is in time an extended shminateras
which itself
is an extension of the holiday of
of sukus which is note seven days and
then so too seven days of kanuka then
it's almost as if we slid
sukos forward from the end of Tish
right two months ahead to the end of
okay and there's a couple reasons for
that first let me quote the source
Aon Mizir
who is a student of the renowned Kaduca
Ley Leitzich
in his teachings on Khan wrote that the
shea
the light and the the the sustenance,
the gifts, the blessings,
which is the reward of of being judged
favorably and be granted the gifts of
Hashem.
Hence, Khan presence or Khan guilt.
Yeah. Because this is where everything
begins to flow. It's called
In other words, everything has been held
in obeyance. All the blessings and
rewards of this of this year have still
been held back until now. And similarly
the bat iron who is a student of the mag
of Chernobyl that's the Chernobyl
dynasty
it's he quoted the Arizal that the main
okay in other words the ceiling that is
by definition of all the good you still
have a chance to heap more and more good
into your year from Rashashan. all the
way through yum kipper and sukus and all
the mitzvah and everything you do and
plus that period of checking which is
well okay you finished you finished on
the 22nd
of of tish now let's see where you're
holding on 22nd of of uh kisv and then
we're going to start getting ready for
kaneka and then everything will will
move forward okay so this is you can
still pack the year with goodness and
light,
right? Which is the light, the lammed,
the 36 hours of hidden light that Hashem
created to end the world and put put
aside for the sadikim.
Those are the 36 candles of Kaneka plus
the eight shamasim that we add which uh
which again represents uh that aspect of
the final day. All right. And then he
quotes
from sukas to Kaneka,
you're allowed to bring bikurin. You're
allowed to sing Hashem's praises for
giving you the gifts of the fruits of
the land of Israel that you made it. You
were successful. We overcame loavan. We
overcame parro. We made it to the land
of Israel. We're here. We're fruitful.
We're celebrating. You can bring it
until Kanuka. You can't make a br after
after sukus because it's not the main
time to bring it but it's still
possible. Okay. And that's the sod. This
was a cabalistic secret that was sealed
for centuries
and revealed finally in our generation
the power of this day that kaneka
actually is another
sharaba and the celebration of a
victorious judgment. Okay. Um, and
that's what's brought down also
in the name of
Shar it's called and the zerakodesh
um that even though on rash on the the
the letters the the final edicts of
Hashem for the year ahead are are sealed
and and delivered.
They are not enforced until Kaneka to
give us a chance. Okay. Sound like sound
like the the books of uh that were sent
out on on um
by uh Hmon that they didn't get a chance
to open them and then Esther sends the
new books. Okay.
So the Malut Mahar also says that Kaneka
is ham. The sweetening of the original
judgment of Rashish Shana is now. How do
we zoh to this? So if we can connect our
minds to
to the idea of a
elo a higher knowledge higher than what
we can possibly comprehend.
Then we will unlock all of our all of
our mindsets and all of our problems and
we'll unlock the rich the riches and
blessings that are due to us. So what
what we what our restrictions are
because perhaps we're jealous, perhaps
we're impatient, perhaps we're angry,
perhaps we're unhappy with the
circumstances of our lives, perhaps
we're unhappy what's happening with Cla
Israel, perhaps we're we're we're we're
questioning uh why these harsh judgments
on the Jewish people, why a bondi beach?
Why are there people being killed on
Russia and shuls in Europe? Why are
there why is it that Amam Dani is taking
over New York who's rife with hatred of
the city that contains the most holiness
in Torah outside the land of Israel? I
don't know if Lakewood's overtaken that
but
you know you could ask a lot of
questions. We could ask a lot of
questions
but unfortunately
the answers to those questions are not
available to us using our normal SEAL.
We have to rise to something the central
system of Seikh that exists in the world
which is known as the Evans Shia the
bedrock what's under the kipatasella
what's by the harabas which is why is so
critical and so important to us because
it is the physical manifestation of the
single solution for all the problems of
the hatreds of the world the hatred of
the world which is so vast violence of
the world the greediness of the world.
The corruption of the world can never be
fixed unless we can all rise to that
higher. That's the concept of the lion
laying laying down with the lamb. Okay,
that's the concept of the of the hag.
It's not going to happen uh
automatically. This the mistake of the
liberals
is not so much that they want bad
things. They want good things. They want
the lion to lay down with the lamb. So
therefore, they'll say, "Give the lions
plenty of food and sustenance and money
and honor and they'll stop bothering the
lamb." No, it doesn't work that way. You
cannot give endless billions of dollars
of support to people who are inherently
in stuck in the demium of evil and hope
that that's going to pry them towards
good. It's not going to work that way.
It is a re-education, a reorientation, a
finding of the light. Think of the guy
who protected the Jews on Bondi Beach
who who was Mos neph to tackle a fellow
Muslim because he felt he was
fundamentally wrong. That person had say
that person that's the solution. It's
not going to help to pour money at them.
They don't want money. They want to to
act out their decisions that they've
made in their mind. These are denim on
us and not saying we're not at some to
blame for arousing and for being objects
of anger. If we were maybe on a higher
level, maybe we wouldn't be uh as
victimized. Atic is always loved by
non-Jew. Chutadikim are loved by
non-Jews.
Maybe it's a message to us
that we have to start to ask ourselves
what what what are you trying to
accomplish? What what are you here for?
Is this just a rat race that you're
gonna scratch out your your piece of the
piece of the pie or
how many vacations you can go on or food
you can consume or beautiful you can
conduct
or does Hashem want us to be sadikim
that are going to be mashim on everybody
around us and educate them? I don't know
and I can cause into question whether
the leadership of the the state of
Israel
really understands this that it's not
the goal to be the strongest.
We are
and I'll tell you an interesting story
from Kaneka.
People think you know Alhamos that Judah
the Makabe won every war and and that we
were so great militarily and we defeated
those guys. One two three if you really
read the history of the wars you will
find out the following. Yes, because of
their greater amuna yudaki be led the
davenining and they fought with people
of utter faith and conviction and
connection to Hashem and they brought
miracles. This is true. But then later
on there was going below seahal hashmi
to seahal hashi. Let's be real. They
made a pact with Rome. Yehuda himself
made a pact with Rome. Mutual defense
pact. And he started to say listen I
don't know if I can keep this up. I
don't know if I can play on that level
all the time. And then what happened?
the Hellenists within us
pulled out to our enemies in Antioch. Uh
actually by this time it was yeah the
the still the Greek still the Syrian
Greeks and said come let's get rid of
this Yehuda guy once and for all which
they tried to do tens tens of times and
Yehuda using his faith in Hashem and his
moon and his fela was muscab until the
till the last war the fourth war of
Kaneka after the Kaneka miracle that was
the end there was a there was an army
that was being led to Israel of 100 that
came to Israel of a 100,000 troops
and uh 10,000 cavalry and the places
where Yehuda saw a miracle like in Bon
the Jews were overrun
they were cut through like a knife
through butter and then they were
marching on Jerusalem and the Hellenists
were going to have their day that once
and for all these annoying eighth day
people these annoying people who had a
seahal that was like no other in the
world that refused to fall into the idea
that everything has to be the way
the the men of the world, the men of the
world see it. The Greco Roman men of the
world see it. No, we have a different
look. We we have a law and and they were
going to get crushed. Yehuda was about
to be crushed. He was isolated.
He was b abandoned by his troops. He was
a goner
and then Hashem wrought a political
miracle just at that moment arrival to
the throne.
uh who had there been there had been a
contest for the throne whether or not um
it would fall into the hands of one of
the descendants of Antiochus actually
someone who looked like Antiochus his
son Antiochus I was one leading the army
but then he fig then he found out that h
there was a general named Philillip who
was his reba who his uh grandfather put
in charge of him that decided that he
wants to rule and now if you don't go
back right now with your 100,000 troops.
You're going to lose your whole kingdom.
And they decide to pick up and leave
one day before crushing Yehuda and
destroying the base Hikdash at that time
with the Helenist going to be in
complete charge. And you know what? They
make a peace treaty with Yehuda and they
decide to leave and everything is
spared. So don't think for one second
that these Milamos were the were the
solution. Muhammad were incredibly
miraculous like the six day war like all
those things like all the rescuing inbi
like the many miracles that were
experienced in the Gaza wars like many
many of these wonderful victories but
it's not the full answer because in the
end of the day we will not win by the
kak we never win by the kak of the but
the kawak of artos that was Yehuda's
secret prayer was his dovening his
dvening is what caused his sword to be
successful if You're going to try to
rely on the material world with weapons
of war and common politics unless Hashem
is going to be fortunate and bail you
out. Uh there is no guarantees will be
successful. Israel ultimately will not
prevail because it makes the best
weapons in the world. Because for all
after all is said and done, we are ma
mikim and the nations can have their way
with us if they choose to as we see with
growing impunity. How President Trump
wishes to just tell Israel what they can
do, what they can't do, to to keep his
peace in Gaza at whatever cost there is
for the Jewish people. And there's a
meeting coming up between Trump and
Natanyao where Natao is going to plead
with him. Please, Iran is rearming.
Hezbollah is rearming Gaza. You're
feeding these people who are terrorists
who want to continue everything that
they've done to us now and still holding
hostage. And and he's going to have to
plead the case and the decision. You
know,
Hashem should give him wisdom because I
don't know. I really don't know if Trump
is still
hearing Hashem. You know, he had that
very uh close call and Hashem got his
ear literally, but does he still have
his ear? Or did he decide that thanks
God, I'll take it from here. I'm going
to impose my peace on the world. And
boy, is he in for a rude awakening.
And I don't know how rude. and I fear
for him because he's done such wonderful
things and we're still better off with
him than without him. But the path that
he's taking is not a path of holiness.
To take all the nations of the world and
bring them into Gaza to rule it is one
smidgen away from doing the same thing
for Yehuda and Shamron, which is where
all this is heading. Okay. But as we
watch all this, we we we tap into our
and say
if we're going to be successful as we
have been till date, it's all a miracle.
It's all from the eighth day will of
Hashem that even one Jew lives in Arit
Israel that even one Jew is able to
observe to mitzvah that I'm able to sit
and talk to you from this point in Kila
Kadosha Bish and broadcast out to you
wherever you might be and to the people
here is all a gift from Hashem that's
the knowledge that's the das of Zos Khan
that's what gives us power that's what
gave Yehuda power and that's what will
give us ultimately power to succeed over
our enemies because once we're there we
that we will appear quite differently to
them. They say when the when um right
after this right before the 67 war the
only person who predicted that there
would be victory was the labreak
everybody was gloom and doom because
you're right by tea there was no hope
for Israel's survival at that time a
very weak country and massive Arab
armies with deathly weapons and Israel
did not have the weaponry or the people
to defend themselves
They were preparing mass graves in Tel
Aviv. Uh the miracle of the six day war
was completely malva.
People tell stories
that two men captured entire platoon of
Egyptians with 10,000 men. How could two
people hold captive 10,000 men? And they
asked they asked these Egyptian soldiers
who surrendered to two people. They
said, "Why did you surrender? There was
only two people there." He says, "There
was no there weren't. We saw thousands
and thousands of people. We saw
thousands and thousands of people. What?
Are you kidding me?
Who knows if those were the souls of the
Niti Shawah of the Shawah who came to
fight and captured 10,000 Egyptians of
through two people, which is exactly
what Yehuda Hamakabi told his troops
time and time again. It's not about the
numbers. It's about who's on our side.
Is Hashem on our side?
The people who blasphe us, do they see
Hashem on our side? Because if they do,
they're going to sing a very different
tune.
Very different tune. Okay? And then
they're going to start seeing, "Whoops,
I don't mess with Israel. If I mess with
Israel, I'm no I'm going to destroy
myself."
Okay? So, I want to move on.
There's so many important and critical
ideas that are associated here. Let's
take one.
We know that
um the problem of the bas's question
about the what's the eighth day about.
So a related question to that is why are
we making such a big deal about the oil
altogether?
It was perfectly permissible to light
oil that was not
kosher not say not
spiritually strong and clear because
is if you have the entire Jewish people
are in a state of tumat that they've
been in wars and they've touched dead
people or they've killed somebody with
if a sword if you hold a sword that
kills a uh a non-Jew that makes you so
none of them could be serve in the beta
mikdash they would have to go through
the sprinkling ceremony of the meatas
they'd have to slaughter a red heer
which apparently they did and it takes
seven days to clarify. So they found a
pure jug of oil
but if they're going to resume the work
of the beta mikdash which it says they
did the next day in other words
isuan
that's brought down in this as well they
rested from their war on the 25th day
and they resumed the service of the bas
mikdash not that the bas was fully
rebuilt it would take time they had to
even rebuild the altar but they began
again. Um, so what does that mean? That
means the next morning they had to bring
a carbon tummy. They had to bring a
regular sacrifice. They're all tame. So
when they lura that night,
the the the night before they were going
to do the the whole service betuma. So
when what was this whole thing? I don't
they didn't want to bring oil and and
and they didn't want to def what was
this? They didn't want to have do the
work in a defiled manner. What do you
mean? The whole thing is defiled. What
are you talking about? It doesn't
matter. Go take any oil that's
available. Let a let a coh whose tame
make the oil today. If there's a
problem, do oil today. And maybe they
did. They probably did prepare oil that
wasn't ritually pure because you can go
ahead and do the do the service anyway.
But what really happened was this
writes this
in his uh
and he says that this is what happened.
He said albeit that it was true that
they had to re restart the beta mikdash
and they couldn't use the misb that was
there. It would they'd had to remove all
the stones, put them away, and build a
new one. But that's that's done in one
day. That that that could be done in
hours. You have so many people working.
It's not a problem. But something
happened. They happened to find a jug of
oil with the seal of the coin guttle.
But the coin guttle didn't traditionally
seal oil. You know, it's not his job.
You know, much lower people were
involved in producing the oil. There
were people who sold oil to the bases of
mikdash or propo or or or special
craftsmen who created the oil according
to the spec specificities of the oil
that was needed for the manora which is
cussus which means the first cold cold
press very special olive oil I by the
way bought a bottle of olive oil just
like that that they had advertised as
this is the real olive oil from the beta
mikd that it's made in that manner that
was kosher for the monora cost 100
shekels it's about twice twice the price
of of of regular oil, right? I bought
it. I lit with it. The candles are still
burning. What time is it? It's almost 2
p.m. So,
it it Okay, but they could have done it.
It's a big deal. But they since they
found this sealed thing from the cole,
it was very strange. Why did they need
it? So offer some offer that this idea
that it wasn't your typical oil. This
oil was not the normal oil for the
manora. It carried the seal of the coal
because it was a remnant of a previous
oil that was used to dedicate the
original Mishkan.
There was oil that Mosher Rabenu
miraculously used cuz I'll tell us to
dedicate all the caim of the first
Mishkan where Aron AoE lit the first
minora of all time and that's what we
read today and the Ramban says that was
the pro of the miracle of Kaneka in
future years was the holy lighting of
the manora in with complete purity by
Arono. How? Because there was this
miracle oil that Mosher Rabenu used to
dedicate the Mishkan to pour oil on all
the caim to make them holy and he poured
and he poured and he poured and they
used it for all the years many many
years and again different different
sources regarding this. It's not your
typical oil. It's the oil of
the oil of the original days. Now you
understand why throughout Kaneka we read
the story we read the uh section of the
dedication of the the first days of
dedication of the Mishkan with each
tribe bringing its various sacrifices
his various kabonos because there's an
energy from that time
not that it's an analogy today it is
what happened on Kaneka it is what
happened on Kaneka that was the oil that
Mos Rabeno used that was sealed away for
posterity because it was a miracle. Just
like they sealed away the mun in a jar.
Just like they sealed away the staff of
Aaron Cohane which proved which blossom
which which showed that he was chosen
against Korak and all of his and all the
other rivals. there was that oil. And
some go even further and they say when
Yakovinu wakes up from his dream and he
takes a stone, the stones that were
under his head, which is the 12 tribes,
notice like the 12 tribes that bring the
sacrifices on the first day of the
Mishkan and he unified, they
miraculously unified themselves as they
did and that on those days by bringing
all of the carbonos exactly the same.
Then he poured oil on it. What oil? A
jug of oil miraculously was there at the
sight of his dream and that oil was
hidden and that some say was the oil
that Mosher Rabenu discovered and used.
And the deeper message of that is is is
as follows.
If there is a an ability of the Jewish
people, which is why we constantly evoke
our obos right away, the seven
shepherds, notice seven shepherds,
including Mosherenu, Yako, Yosephadic,
who's also a focus of this para, and we
can actually renew, refresh, and go back
to those moments. Kaneka was not a later
holiday. Kaneka was the origin story of
the Mishkan and of the second Ba Mikdash
which by the way ironically was
dedicated on the first day of Kaneka
uh many hundreds of years earlier. Okay,
remember the BA mikdash the second B mig
lasts for 420 years. The Kashmon come in
the last 200 years. So that means that
already been more than 200 years since
the original um dedication by Ezra of
the of the second bas mikdash. You
understand that we re we reboot all the
way back to that moment when they lit
the manora of Kaneka.
It was the same day. It was the 25th day
of the month of Kisv. It rebooted. It's
like start over. Go back to the power of
that moment. We go back to the power of
the moment of Yakov pouring the stones
over pouring the oil over the 12 sons
saying you are a unit. I built Kali
Israel. Now I'm going to go and do it in
reality. But the purpose and the plan is
there. The seal the Evan Shia plan. That
was the stone. That is the stone that is
referring to. So what is the power of
the Jewish people to recreate and jump
back to those moments? Those moments are
reproducible
and they're renewable. [laughter]
It's like renewable energy. So Zaneka is
the culmination of the of the period of
judgments because we always can go back
to our best best and highest moments.
That resilience, that spiritual
resilience is what is describing lesson
61. Let your brain go higher and be re
revitalized with a different way of
thinking. Come back to your brain and
then all your problems are gone. Now,
being also a therapist for many years,
I often think about the the distinctions
and the connections between the world of
psychology and the world of Torah as if
they're two separate things as people
want to portray them. But I don't
believe so. I don't believe such a thing
is possible, at least not for the Jewish
people. And so, who's right and who's
wrong? What are the the teachings of the
world of psychology have one opinion?
It's almost like Greece and the teaching
of Torah another decision and how can we
reconcile them and how can they live
together in peace
and you've had people like
Torski
who brought in um notions of from the
world of addictions and recovery and
applied them in a very broad sense and
created what I call a psychology of
self-esteem and brought it in from an
outside. It was it was from Yavan. was
not from our world but he brought it
into the keshkadashim and he made it
part of our world. He was a person who
could do that. Not everybody can
[clears throat] do that. Not everybody
should even attempt to do that perhaps.
But there is this idea
that don't you cannot solve problems
using the same method of thinking. Like
if a couple comes in with marital
problems and they have a mindset they
have their what I call their denim.
They've decided this is what this person
is all about. This is what bothers me.
This is what I like. And it's a fixed
idea and then there's no fluidity to it.
They've passen they've given their
judgment. There's there's not there's no
there's no uh wiggle room. You can't
move anywhere. You're not going to
reconcile anything. You have to go to
higher a different way of looking at it.
What we call a paradigm shift some a
different way of looking at things. And
that's the that is the therapy. You have
to look at it differently. That was the
secret of all the the addicts. They
began to understand and they they made a
movement out of it and it does bring
value and it is it does contain a light
of truth, a light of clarity, a light of
the eighth day of Khaneka that no, they
can't stop their drinking and drugging
and their bad midos without Hashem's
connection and intervention. Which is
why Rabbi Nakman goes on to say in that
Torah that going to Sadikim is what will
help you elevate your mind to the next
level because they did it. And if you
can go to them to their svarim to their
concepts to their ideas to their
physical grave to offer prayer and
commune with them and connect with them
emotionally physically and spiritually
that is what's going to change your
paradigm that's what's going to get you
to a completely different place. So in
conclusion,
we have to wind down.
Zhaneka
is a day of utter renewal, but it's also
the final sweetening of the judgments
that began on Rashashana. Many things
have happened to us since Rashashana.
Some of them exemplary wonderful, some
of them difficult and tragic. I don't
have to go through all of them. you
understand what is going on in Israel,
what happens in the anti-semitism around
the world, the declarations of the
United Nations, the wars that surround
Israel. But at the same time, at the
same time, there's been some incredible
miracles and the support that's come to
Israel from places you wouldn't believe
and maybe just a turning point where
voices of evil are being challenged.
This year is being decided today. This
year we will this this day we will know
what will happen with Donald Trump, what
will happen with Bib Netanyao, what will
happen with the state of Israel and Gaza
and Hezbollah and Iran is being decided
today but today its decision comes from
the higher place. So let's hope that
this sweet this day which we have the
power to ask ask to solve your problems.
Start to think that you have a higher
mindset which can resolve all of your
issues. Look at them differently.
Approach them differently. Approach them
from the point of view that you have
Hashem's help. Udah Makabe did it.
That's how he won his wars. I can't beat
these armies. There was no way. And the
minute he descended just a little bit
into the world of making deals with the
Romans, he was done. He was toast until
Hashem sent in a political thing that
diverted it. the fourth war of Kaneka
which would have been the end of Udam
Makabe and no and no era of greatness in
which was an era of greatness for Torah
at least and the development of Torah to
pair and wealth and and success of the
Jewish people went on for years and
years and brought us all the way into
the modern era. It was a massive turning
point
but
it all comes with looking at things
differently. Let's begin to look at
Israel
not from its pragmatic political and
military issues
but as the its destiny
as a as the mini world not the United
Nations that's not the world they want
to make it the world it's a world that's
stuck in dinim that are will only bring
strife and with all their goodness that
they want to do with the United Nations
ultimately
It's only bringing about further
sinning, theft, deception, hatred.
That's what they're bringing to the
world. Will not bring that. The H will
bring that. Even New York will bring
that. Maybe especially New York. But you
will bring something else. And we'll
bring the world up to a higher level of
thinking and being. And then there will
be peace. No, Mr. Trump. This is not
your peace deal. I'm sorry.
Shalom doesn't say Donald Shalom.
Sorry, and you got to listen
and I hope you do because I'm grateful
to you. I'm grateful to what America has
done to help Israel.
But turning away from that understanding
from what Yehuda Makabe taught from what
Zos Khaneka represents and embodies
will not bring anything but future
suffering. So let's hope that this is a
big
letova simka and from this day forward
the year shall be sealed for happiness,
joy, success and miracles for the Jewish
people, for each one of us, for Israel
and for the entire world.
