A Jewish family was going on vacation
>> [music]
>> and they had seven children.
And obviously vacation with seven kids
is very costly.
>> [music]
>> And it was a place where they were
driving to a few hours away.
And [music] to save money, they brought
all the food with them. They brought
some basics.
And on the way to their destination,
[music]
one of the kids really had to go to the
bathroom.
So there [music] was a kosher restaurant
nearby.
So he stopped off, figured he could go
in and just ask to use the [music]
bathroom. And when he came in,
he was able to already see that
>> [music]
>> there was a sign that said bathroom for
customers only.
And so he went to a waiter and [music]
he said, "My son really has to use the
bathroom.
We're not customers, but I don't know if
it's okay."
The [music] waiter is like, "Yeah, yeah,
go for it."
So the kid
used the bathroom.
And when he comes [music] out,
so the manager sees this man with his
son who [music] he noticed were not
dining.
And he went over to them and he said,
[music]
"Someone say if he used the bathroom?"
And
the man looks and sees the waiter
[music]
nervous,
very nervous hearing the manager ask him
that question, knowing that he's going
to get in trouble
in a few moments.
And the man said,
"I told [music] the waiter that I'm
going to be coming here with my family
right now. They're in the car. I'm going
to get them. We're going to have a meal
here."
He said, "Okay, of course."
The waiter [music]
so relieved to hear him say that, to
save him like that.
>> [music]
>> The man goes out, brings in his whole
family, and everyone gets a main dish.
>> [music]
>> After they eat the main,
all the waiters come out with like
special desserts with like the sparklers
on it for the whole family.
>> [music]
>> But they're thinking I did not order
this. What's going on?
The manager comes out
>> [music]
>> and the manager said,
"I know what happened. I know what you
did.
>> [music]
>> I went in to the kitchen and I saw the
one of my waiters crying.
And I said, "What's wrong?"
>> [music]
>> He told me the whole story.
He said he was expecting you to out him
>> [music]
>> and for him to be reprimanded.
And he said he was so moved by the fact
that to not embarrass him, to not make
him look bad for what he did, to get to
not get him in trouble, you're willing
three and your whole family to spend
decent money for a meal.
He says, "It's unbelievable. You're
going to have a free meal tonight and
anytime you come back, you get 50% off."
