Achiezer Gala 2024: Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Dr. Marc Sicklick

[Music] Lifetime Achievement to me means or at least what my wife told me that people actually appreciated you going above and beyond I've run my life treating patients the way that I want to be treated myself I'm available anytime day or night not all medicine is cut and dried science it's not CAT scans it's not MRIs you really need to spend time with people you're not treating a disease and most importantly take questions I really make an attempt to keep up I spent almost 30 years on the Einstein campus I was teaching had an evening practice when full-time I'm always available to patients and I hope I had a positive impact Dr cylic is a name that is just synonymous with this community Dr click is a man of many many hats and we're grateful to have had a relationship with him for so many years now we think there are a few people in this community that were given their lifetime to the patients everybody loves him he's just one of those people and um we're very grateful azer has been the to me the epitome of what a a Saka a charity is supposed to be they're not limited to just one aspect they're there for everything I remember sitting on a shabas morning in Lawrence Village Hall when Hurricane Irene hits with bar bear bender and he was sitting there getting ambulet for the infirm and the elderly who needed to get out there is nothing that needs to be done that they will not help with so Aza really is very good at getting people into to see good doctors it's very common especially if people have financial problems and you're not treated as a person people do need guidance over which doctors to go to who is good and who you can trust and azer helps guide and actually will contact doctors I've heard this from a lot of patients AER to me is the ultimate of what is supposed to be you do the right thing you help everybody I initially was skeptical who needs another group it has surpassed I by magnitudes that I can't even describe of over what I predicted they would do and what they ended up doing they've been phenomenal [Music]
