[Music] anything what if a person Ken there are certain things that we missing but how do you know what if a person know missing uh so he looks at the Torah and he looks what what it says to do in the Torah and he looks at himself so for example if the Torah says that you have to learn you know a lot a lot of Tora every day if the person doesn't learned and he already knows that he's lacking that Tora says not that to be angry being angry means that is is the equivalent of it's a horrible thing to do which all of us fail at but acting out our anger like throwing things breaking things and so on could you know get the say it's the level of if the person gets angry then obviously he needs he knows that he uh needs to work on his anger if he's stingy the T says don't be stingy be generous if you know so there's different character traits that a person needs to evaluate what does AEM want what do I do so that's the first thing second thing is also the mitv is he fulfilling every single Mitzvah obviously not there's a Mitzvah that he's not doing so whatever he's not doing he needs to do what if he doesn't know that's the point of learning tah once you learn tah you start learning of what you do and what you don't do you start learning of all the things that you're not doing a lot of people think that they're observing the mitv perfectly well but I can tell you from experience most people most people don't know half as much as they think they know and I'm not talking about people that are not religious or people that are bital I'm talking about people that are FR from birth talking about people that are religious from birth they ask questions that are the same questions as the B the the questions that are coming from people that have been religious their whole life I'm telling you from experience have dealt with thousands and thousands of questions it's helped me learn a lot but I could tell you also one of the things that I learned is that the uh the uh the problem the disease of ignorance is both in the religious and non-religious world the only difference is the religious world look like they're religious but as far as knowledge is concerned many of them have the same exact questions as the non-religious now obviously they know about basics of they know they have to have a Suka they know you have to you can't like to fire on Shabbat they know that uh you know you can't carry M they know some basic things like that it's more than a b chba but a lot of other foundational questions they do not know so first and foremost I could I could tell you never feel like your question is uh unique or uh makes you stupid or it's a bad question there's no such thing as a bad question we live in a generation of ignorant people no one knows myself included I didn't know anything before I knew no one knows before they know if you don't ask if you don't learn you're never going to know you're never going to know if you don't ask and you don't learn you're No One ignorant goes to Ganan you can't play the ignorant card so this obligates to learn once you learn you start realizing the more you learn the more you're lacking why because you start realizing money there's a lot more to it when it's having kids it's not just send the kids away to Yesa to a school somebody else's babysit them and you're finished there's a lot more to it when it comes to that you can just look in the mirror and see okay am I anxious yes am I uh you know am I nervous person yes am I uh uh stingy yes am I a big spender on myself and not anything else yes am I uh Angry I get angry at every little ant yes am I you know all these things a problem you know what you are if you don't know what you are no one's going to know what you are everybody knows there at least something they have to work on so that's the first thing so you have to work on those character traits you have to work on a and usually the things that are the most difficult for you are one of the primary reasons why you in this world in the first place meaning if there's a specific one or two or three mitv that are extremely difficult for you to do for example wasting seed wasting seed is one of the uh it is the rambam says is the biggest addiction a human being can have even more than drugs if you have this addiction and you realize that it's wrong because you've watched the shoe that we've talked about it then you're still addicted to it you're still not willing to do Chua for it that obviously means that this your body uh is new but your soul isn't and that Soul was affected and infected by the sin from your previous Carnation and came to this world primarily to fix that uh that issue as one of the things so if you have an issue with wasting seed whether it's by yourself or with multiple women or whatever it is that you're doing then that's the reason if you're a woman and every every week you have a new boyfriend that's your problem you have to fix that if a uh you have to learn you have to learn about these things I don't mean learn oh oh listen learn okay watch you and don't do anything about it learn the consequences learn the punishment it's important to learn the punishment because the only thing that wakes us up sometimes is punishment so learn about the punishment before the punishment comes um so you have there's a character Trace that you have to work on if you're lazy if you're uh uh if you eat too much if you eat too little you know different things everyone has something everyone has something and usually much more than something some things as far as meets there's plenty of things that we all have to do but that's what we came to the world for you don't look at the books and say I'm lacking so much I have all these bad character traits I'm missing all of these mitv I'm So Far Away might as well do nothing that's the thought of the Satan himself that put into your head that's not what we're supposed to think what you're supposed to think is forget about everything forget about everything no one ask you to do everything right now hasem asked you to do one thing after you do one thing do another thing after do another thing do another thing and no one ask you to become rich overnight no one ask you to become rich overnight everyone ask you get a job get a job go make 500 bucks a week go make a living survive worry about being rich somewhere down the road this mentality that we have in this generation that we want you know they uh you know to be rich quick and want results quick and want things quick is the poison is the poison that's feeding the monster this this mentality that the world is an iPhone where everything needs to be uh the click of a button that's cancer that's spiritual cancer that's what's killing us we're expecting fast results if it's not easy we don't do it if it's not quick we don't want it that's the wrong mentality the right mentality the D is something that's good requires time meaning you need to work on it every day now requires time you're going to work on it once a month and then hopefully in 10 years from now I'll be finished no it's not a painting work on it meaning every day work on it every day work on it every day work on it every day work on it and eventually in seven years from now before you know it you finished you finished but it's already become part of you and that's what we have to realize these things are hard yes but don't look at the whole picture look at today and tomorrow look at tomorrow and then tomorrow and the next day look at the next day you failed get the books from everything else you have zero chance of getting to geden zero zero chance there is no laid-back Judaism there is no doing Judaism on the side and every unless it's a priority in your life you have a zero chance of surviving both as a Jew or as a gentile you want to be a righteous nohide you have to make God number one you want to you want to be a righteous Jew you have to make God number one unless God is number one in your life but not God like you tell everybody I love Hashem but you know in the meantime you're stealing robbing and everything else God is number one really unless you make God number one in your life you have a zero chance of making it why because there's too much there's too much desires and stimulations and all types of things that are going to go against you so this is the most important thing we got to sh number 100 I'm hoping that by now by now we're getting the point by now you're getting the point this is the message it took us 100 sh to get here 100 she to get here but that's the point if you're still doubting one word that I said throughout the last two hours you haven't learned anything from me and I prefer you don't come back why I can't teach you you need to to find a new Rabbi you need to find a new teacher if by now you've doubt one thing that I that I said which was not my opinion it's Tor if you doubt it for one 1% that doesn't matter how much money you have doesn't matter how many women you have and how many kids you have and how much material you have everyone has a tough life everyone life is tough for everyone there's no such person on planet Earth that does not have a tough life everyone has a tough life everyone you have eight billion people in the world approximately every single one of them has a difficult life why that's life if you're expecting a life that's not difficult you're expecting something that's not life that point of life is difficulty that's the point why difficulty build you difficulty makes you what you're supposed to be if you're not developing yourself to become a better person through your difficulty then all it's doing is ruining you it's making you worse than what you already were to begin with you're not even taking advantage of the gift hm has giving you but in reality is difficulty is everywhere if you're thinking that money is going to solve your problems wrong if you think that marriage is going to solve your problems wrong kids going to solve your problems wrong none of the only thing that's going to solve your problems is if you do Chua and understand the purpose of life purpose of life is connect to God connect to God do what he wants do what's good for you based on what he wants and that's a good life why because if you're happy if you're happy that means you're happy with your share regardless of what your share is whether it's a lot or a little whether it's a lot or a little only way you can get to that type of mindset is with God in your life but that type of mindset is only if you're glued to him not if he's there on the side like a old pair of jeans if he's primarily he is the house he is number one if he's number one your life will be number one if not you'll have a difficult life like everybody else but you'll constantly Chase your tail with the illusion that maybe one day it's going to be easy ask any old man ask any old woman 80 90 however old they get ask him do you have an easy life that's all laughing at you look at any book that was ever written by somebody old that lived for a while Rich poor indifferent show me one example both in the secular world or the religious world if somebody says life is easy doesn't exist the chase that we have for an easy life is an optical illusion it's the illusion of the so if you start realizing that and we face that reality that already repositions us okay stop expecting something that's impossible and start addressing life for what it is we came here to work we came here to work for who for for for Nike for Pepsi for for who work work for hem okay so I don't work for Hashem oh he said do this this this and this okay fine I'll do it and by doing it your life becomes better even the struggle has a purpose even the difficulty becomes okay not that you're enjoying the difficulty but you start realizing there's a meaning to the difficulty the thing that people need to understand um when it comes to when it comes to giving generosity is what wins because that's one of the major character traits that we learned from Hashem and a person necessarily a contradiction it's just it's just a matter of where the person stands where he stands obligation is to give how much you give depends on you I give you a story just uh now now happened someone I know well says uh listen you know I told people sometimes ask questions if there specific project you're working on or whatever so I listed a bunch of projects that we're working on and one of the things that we listed was to help we help scholars in in in uh in Jerusalem that learned T it's one of the many projects that we have on a month to month basis every month we do it we send money there but also sometimes we do so uh anyway conversation began where I said okay we have this uh that we send money to and we have this uh family this uh guy that uh I believe he was a rabbi or at least very religious lost his mind fell off the de and left his wife and eight kids left her left Hashem left everything and emptied out the bank account and pretty much left him for dead and uh so we try to help whatever we can uh so anyway this was one of the things that we tried raising some money for so long story short there's no end to the money that we need if we could help all the people that we want to help so there's four different stories there was one kid that needed there was one guy that uh lost all of his money through some medical issues and uh needed some help to get started again there was some some people that needed some money for the holidays and there was his family so this one guy said oh listen I have a he doesn't have much money uh he's like oh listen I have uh I have an extra $3,000 so what do you mean extra nobody has extra the millionaire doesn't have extra the millionaire Bill Gates you ask him how much money you have extra he says nothing why using all your money goes no but it's not extra all the money I have is my money it's not extra so this guy says I have extra $3,000 so we can divide it up to these $1,000 for the $1,000 for the uh for the family few hundred for this spread it out for all these before cleaning out the what's the the money it's extra we're supposed to get rid of the extra have extra I guess why is it extra why is it extra I don't need it that's why it's extra that's that's a clean mind that's a mind that understands money that you have in your bank is not yours p is not just about food chuva is not just about keeping uh Shabbat and sleeping all day there's a lot more to it that's a mind that's a mind that's trying to do chuva that's a mind that's trying to do chuva but Al we have more Minds like that do you understand so the person right you know he's willing to do it and hasm rewards him for it but the point is is that how many people want to do that I don't know I was I was sufff was I was going to not just about learning and being a robot it's about developing your character traits it's about perfecting yourself through the Torah and one of the main things is to know that you have to share this beautiful knowledge you have to share this this Divine knowledge to share the the knowledge of God once you understand that sharing this knowledge is a is critical then you you understand already the the point of life what if a person learns and doesn't have the ability to teach I just said it you listen what' I say no I forgot okay first is if you have the ability in then you teach the world whoever would listen to you you teach them okay if you you don't have theay you can only teach five people then you teach five people if you don't have the you can only teach five people you only have one friend you teach the one friend if you don't have one friend then you teach your kids if you don't have any kids then you teach your wife if you also don't have a wife and no kids and no friends nice things but in the eyes of hem is's a rash he's a wicked person that must do chuva and if he cares about his relationship with hem even a even a small token then he would understand that he needs to do Chua and he can do Chua now what people don't understand is that they think that the uh only the big sins are the ones like homosexuality wasting seed Shabbat those are the big things that uh you know that that ruin your life but in reality there even things that we think are very simple or in some case don't even think are uh are are sins that create havoc in our life I learned from my on going to be go to beet you're lacking on whatever it is you're supposed to do once you've already starting to do that you also start realizing oh I start have to reflect everybody hates me why because I'm a I don't know a little angry bird I'm always angry so I have to uh calm down okay so that's the next thing you work on or the guy's arrogant you know arrogant person says even his own family hate him someone that's arrogant even his family gets to a point where they hate him meaning that a person a person could always expect to get love from one place where his family his mom his dad his kids his wife an arrogant person can get to a level where literally everyone hates him including his family including the only place in the world that he can get love why that's how detestable the the character trait of arrogance is and you know who's the Arrogant person's biggest enemy another arrogant person they hate each other they hate each other that's why by the way you know a lot of the people that hate Donald Trump tend to be very arrogant not that I like the guy but they tend to be very arrogant people because one arrogant person by Nature hates another arrogant person cuz he thinks he should have everything and the other guy thinks he should have everything so they their ego are battling it's not even their opinions I don't know r or sadik I'm not God all I know is you know we have a Tor we have certain things we have to do if he does him good if he doesn't do him then no good a just because he's a doesn't mean he's a rash job was also a go I'm say abl no but he does have the obligation to keep the seven Noah laws and all of the uh uh uh things that are common sense all of the obligations in the tah that are common sense such as honor his parents that's not one of the seven Noah laws but it is an obligation for non-jews as well he also has an obligation to uh you know learn musar develop his character trait there's no permission whatsoever to be arrogant righteous would want to be a Jew and that's why we try to help anyone that can't that we we can become a Jew the problem is that we we're limited number one we're limited with resources we can't give anybody any money to convert and that's usually a big problem for people they can't afford to convert they can't afford to move they can't afford to re uh to to to pay for the bedine and so on we're them uh if you don't know who you stole from or you can't reach the person that you stole from he died or he moved away and you tried reaching him and you can't reach him then you have to take that money and you have to give it as Saka either for for some type of Torah purpose uh if you can't reach that person but if you know who it is uh then you have to give it back to them and usually if if it's a company like a Walgreens or something like that then you have to just send a letter to the company with a check hey deposit this this is the company I'm sorry I stole 25 years ago and I did
