A number of years ago, I used to take
voice lessons. And one of the most
valuable lessons I got from my vocal
coach was to find my own voice was to be
me. Not to mimic somebody else's voice
and try to sound like someone else, but
try to find the best voice that I have
within me and use what God had given me.
That's when I sounded most authentic,
real, and honestly just much better. And
the same is true in marriage. If you
want to show up as the best husband
possible, the best wife possible, the
best version of yourself, you got to
find you, not mimic someone else. That
might mean shutting off social media for
a little bit. It might mean discovering
who you really are, but you got to be
the best version of you because that's
the version of you your spouse will most
appreciate.
