[Music] thank you we're okay maybe even welcome to tour talks kazakh's Tuesday night program with special guests tonight we have with us a very special guest a very dear friend of kazakhra official chapter about welcome thank you so much honor to have you here at the Kazakh headquarters before they had a headquarters oh that's true that's true many many years ago that's right Hashem the rabbi has been inspiring continues inspired thousands of people and we have a minute accustomed before we speak about our topic of simple happiness which is an exciting topic makes me happy just thinking about it a little bit background about the rabbi and the great work you're involved with in the sheer mentora and good stuff like that wow backgrounds above you it's so hard to talk about yourself some speakers love to do that so I yeah so we gotta think about my background is very complicated um should I tell you how many times I was sitting in the principal's office really yeah yeah yeah yeah I struggled but you know the story of my mother right no but that that I want to say because I think that's important because that's I I'll tell you why it kind of sets a perspective in my life I know many people have heard the story 10 trillion times so I guess this is 10 trillion and one because by the Museum of Natural History and uh the tour guide says it's the dinosaur and it's 68 billion year billion and one year old like I said where did the one year come from he says well when he started working they told him that 68 billion is 81 years okay so I was born after 12 years after 12 years my mother and my father were sole survivors okay nobody else survived on their family my mother came from Poland her family name was Gilbert still looking for some of her family never found so if anyone's out there she lived in bendeen my father came from Galicia Southern Poland and if you understand the culture difference it's like from northern Alaska to Southern Florida speak the same yeah there's totally different kinds of people and um none of them in any surviving siblings surviving immediate cousins they all came here alone and they got married at my mother Allah um anyway the first 12 years they did not have children um year number 12. don't worry at the end they had and they end their mother had I guess you're wondering okay so year number 12. so that we don't even have all the organizations today that they have that help you and it says still and guide you like uh there was like then either but the restaurant has this private schlot so the fertility was fertility was definitely something that was off the nobody was not wasn't anything was charts right but uh so she was by a fertility doctor on Park Avenue and that was like the end of the road that was whatever could be done moving on and he told me Mr shelter um look it's over he said when here we'll grow on the palm of my hand or you're going to have a child no no that that's not the thing okay so here we'll grow in the pond you're in our child um did he mean to be rude though he meant to say like an hour with your life and don't start don't worry there's no chance there's nothing we do whatever we could do and it's not gonna happen and she left the doctor's office uh quite uh shall we say I it wasn't just her it was felt like me my my parents my my siblings my everything she was the only Survivor my father was the only survive it was like 12 years 12 years of disappointments and 12 years of waiting and 12 years of ups and down as we got onto the Madison Avenue bus and she said um I'm never getting off this bus well she said I'm never ever going to get off this bus I'm staying on this bus the rest of my life that's what she said at the moment and the bus is going back and forth and back and forth and at one point the driver and African-American driver takes up his cabin he goes man you gotta get off the bus and she says no I'm not going with the bus I'm staying here forever I've never got all four this is what she said she was interested has these Messengers he took off his cap and he goes and this is because I had a hard day because I don't know what your problem is but it's not going to be song If you sleep in a bus garage get off the bus and get on with your life and she felt that was a message whatever you never hear from anybody it's a message it's a message nothing nothing is by chance and uh she said okay you know what whatever is going to be that's right he's right I'm not gonna spend the rest of my life on the bus go round she had her down she had got him and she's after it a year later I was born wow I don't know if they lived up to their uh you know expectations but uh I think that there is a moment so I always consider you know to rabbi's the oldest of the family or the youngest middle only one the only one wow so mommy's no family members that means if I ask you a favor there's the that one no one's related no one's related a lot of children but [Music] um so it's feel that okay so I've sent down into this world and because I said you're down for a reason we're even supposed to be here okay it's like I said you're not for a reason so do what you have to do and that's not true for me that's true for every single one of us it's true it's true for all of us so I think that's that's my background everything else is just whatever technicalities how one thing uh led to enough but um so let me answer the question how does it that the rabbis the beginning or is that like a renowned speaker traveling how did that happen I never took a course in college renowned speaker course oh really no no never did everything right PhD in speaking or or anything else it just happened like you were teaching one day and then someone's like oh that was a great speech or right so people always ask me when was that movie I started like where did the curtains go up and you said ah you're here no I don't know I don't think that there was a moment I think I think before we come down to this world it goes breakfast sets our course for us where we're supposed to be I don't believe it one second or better than anyone else right that says whoever is uh you know everybody gets a lot of Honor down here is usually in the back up there down there is up front so uh down here everywhere I'm gonna be um when he first left um came out he was a Siberia and he came to Paris so the man told me that he stand in the middle of the shoe so someone asked why does the rabbit go up front she says it says what yeshiva's gonna come people that were up front are in the back we were on the back or you sit in the middle at least this will be where I am you know is that I'm trying to ask you when I remember seeing him in the Letterman show is always in the middle right palm also never said always to the side um foreign you're leading the congregation but again you're you're you're you know once you once you're a leader once you're in politics that's not politics for you it automatically there's certain restrictions to real is the real king is in your house in your home in your seat where you are that's the Hummel from here okay there's the description I got to show you where to go very interesting way to go from there so there wasn't I don't think there was one night that made uh that was a thing my father because I was in the oven so I think my father always used to that every single night before I went to sleep and tell me stories um all these fell asleep and I had like this feel of saying stories I have to be lucky as Hashem with God you can use your pyramid group so that helps a lot and she woke up for that um I remember the first time I heard a story so then I was just laying on the floor laughing and they opened up a whole new way of telling stories and I was telling stories of kids am I black and it's telling stories against my house and somehow just one thing uh led to another amazing unbelievable I never have any more since the towel Rabbi had a shackles with a connection with and he would say that he became an oratoric speaker because his father would always encourage him to speak in the Shabbat table always order something anyways can't see saying things and that's uh I think the way it picked up my father would say say a few words without telling you before anything I was going to say that then I was choked but your father was also an already a speaker you know he he came here he was a businessman he wasn't shot hit originally when he first came there and he felt that they were rushing him to her clean he can't keep up you know he doesn't take the responsibility so he quit a lot and it was the joint that was giving money then said well you had your job you quit so we're not going to support you and it was really up to Peak when he was determined he started his own business it's like a printing contractor and Russia but he always gave she working yeah and there so it definitely no question about another shot of this table here I mean to guess into everyone else beautiful beautiful Rabbi fish African inspiration to us all so to our topic today um happiness we're in the middle of Mark hashman uh Mar which is bitter is a month with no holidays and I see people walking around and I see that frown on their face I'm like what's going on you know the holidays were fun it was amazing it was great but now we're back foreign so that's what people feel and this is the topics people ask them when you speak about and the rabbi could give us some here's an inspiration but happiness right wow so let me think we were not prepared right now I love our official chapter off the cuff this is crazy this is supposed to come right because when I prepare I always make mistakes this way at least I say was off the cuff it wasn't prepared if I prepared I'm really in trouble right now I'm prepared how did you say something so I don't have a teleprompter I don't have uh no I don't know we're working on it for future speakers yeah okay um who gets to be the writer yeah um I think that uh it's really tough people having it really tough life is hard pressures are hard and one of the reasons precious the heart is because we don't stop okay I'm gonna study once that there was a time at night it got dark and your only option of light was a candle which was very limited it was real light right a filmologist say was much healthier for the eye and so on but it was it was real life but basically it got dark and you went to sleep and and and and livestock and your mind had a moment to rest and take a breath and you woke up the next morning and the day starts again and I think that what happens today is we don't stop going and and it's not how we were wired and I I think you need a couple of minutes a day just walk into a room and take it out I would say 10 minutes before I go to sleep or or at one point during the day take out a safer take out a ticket and learn and even if you're not up to learning just sit there and class for 10 days just 10 days well that day's not bad I didn't start with 10 minutes um just just close your phone close your phone sit there and just just sit there and do nothing it's hard for people yeah give a chance for your lungs for your heart for your mind to catch update hashems God spoke to my son and he stopped from time to time red right there's a pain in the summer for the plastic wrap up the symbol to give time we don't we don't have time to catch up on breath you sing it 100 I I I think just plan into your day a moment of just slow down slow down will that equal to happiness for that you could maybe relax okay so there is no happiness but there is no happiness drug a lot of people think there are but it doesn't really work to the price to pay for it right um I think that's one element in it definitely just just stop pause just stop stop and pause okay um you have a partner pick up a little some of that's uh Outreach does and unbelievable way and and it got me for a few minutes you need that one moment I always wanted by the Shabbos table your little kids and they come and they fight over of course not in my house and they fight over the sea this is my seat is my sister and wellness anyone kid pulls us enough how do you know about the situation in my house and uh can you finally you bring in all the negotiators and bring in the Secretary of State in the state department why haven't you negotiate everyone has their seat and you make kids and 30 seconds later they're gone we're on the seats for anything so what were you fighting over and the answer is in a kid's mind it's not it's not the amount of time that he's sitting there's that moment that his father makes kid that she is a special moment the moment that you watch and give out Timex is a special moment it doesn't have to be you know we don't force your kids to sit better shots they'll just he needs that moment that that's his connecting moment and he wants to have his place then we also we need our connecting moment to ascend to have our have our moment and have our place and just uh and amazing amazing I think it's crucial advice take a good save or take a good take a good book a meaningful book and just close the door sit down no look at her screen your screen wears your eyes now even if you're reading something good just give yourself 10 minutes and uh I think it makes a big difference amazing suggestion okay love it there's a famous thing Rabbi fake it till you make it you know someone that's sad or not in the moon any like you just start smiling that word actually smile forces it forces it outside really interesting yeah so you can tell us more about that whole topic of fake it till you make it is is there truth to it right so the question is well we're not supposed to fake things right we're right we're supposed to be real a very interesting story tonight I just happened to hear it on the way here so I guess there's a reason I'm supposed to say represent Cipher was the son of the for some cycle some slave was the gravity of pressure and roshinda was very very from and it was a great genius and when he got married his wife complained to to her father-in-law that he's just to tense and that he would walk in he would walk in if he missed kissing the mezuzah it was like yeah oh my gosh and uh of course telling you have all kinds of letters in the ABC but he was a great genius and she felt she felt the pressure and she felt over enough to go to her and uh I'm sorry we did not say there don't you talk that way about my son he said come here and he said she'll look into my face and the similar the stream is Right said it was hard for him to look into his father's face so instead we had like a certain shine to me says please look into my face and they looked at each other for a couple of moments and he suddenly he had a smile on his face of the rest of his life he had a certain smile that was that was off the charts even going through very very difficult times and he asked of some Sophie where does it come from that says some learning terrible smug really learning Terror including Hashem is not relay the statues of Hashem generate simply generate happiness and you can you can transfer it one one to another okay so where's the subcycle let me get online right hey here's the problem and the answer is I think we have to do it to ourselves um so sadika said that yes you're not supposed to lie not supposed to be sad you're not supposed to be dishonest even though they say how do we know that a Manhattan is stronger than a din you ever hear this I'm in high can there's a halakhan is more important than I can prove it to you because if you owe someone money you have to pay back but I mean I guess that was a joke just in case um so launcher said that when you walk on the street you're supposed to walk with a smile because if you don't look at a smile you're affecting somebody else you're hurting someone else and your face is your sister Robin so as long as you said if you just like there's uh one of the four uh damages the zika is that someone digs a pit in a public property if you're walking on the street with your face down and your face sad then you are digging a pit in the street that people are falling in so I heard from a male speedometer added something else to it he said that's when you're walking on the street he said if you walk into your house in a rap mood he said then you work then you're a Goring ax well he said but I go to one of my Rebellion I really swirl spinner um who said and he said it to us and he I think he was 80 years old he must have been married 60 years he says I woke into my house I put my hands on the doorknob and I close my eyes a few minutes I say Hashem let me do my job to come in as much WoW grandchildren this is my this is my job let me let me try there's uh about this yourself one of the great clasific Masters and he says an Arab PESA it says the name is coming over face so his boss just told him you're in big trouble first day after base I want to do I always say something very important to say to you oh no right and the landowner's about to film that and the wife was just everything in the world is going away and she says when my husband comes home I'm gonna give it to her how dare him say he has a heart that you know what I'm going through and she said my wife complained one more thing they're coming in this is Russia Ukraine they're just coming in this world yeah level one World War II world war three Napoleon any war in the world they're like they're coming at each other this is and he comes in and and he says you know what Young tip is coming I know what happened last time we did this it was a disaster I said I I can't change the world I can change myself and he came in I said I'm going to come and smile like she said my husband's coming in I'm about to get like he's in like he's on the cross yeah I see him what was the point what's the point let me and he walked in hi and she smiled but he smiled it was a very fake smile and they would they wouldn't even want to ask her for it that was a bad fake so I was a smile so it says Hashem looks down and says you know I have such a rap sheet against both of you you can imagine what should I do you're forcing a smile wow you're forcing a smile on yourself I don't know so forces and and we're gonna do it and there's no question about it there's there's a concept of these the outside factors what's within us we're a body but a sham is Happy the soul of Fitness is always happy right the ridiculous said you should learn three things on the small kid right remember this one is that um you know just until he guess what he wants yeah a kid right you know oh you'll ask one excuse me can you wait I'll never talk to that person again the rest of my life a kid if I don't ask his mother and nurture nerds right uh how does the story go you know the kid walks into a busy Williamsburg Bakery and the guy's orders and kid this is this little kid alive and he says you have the USA sprinkles you have a chocolate sprinkles get that now go get up get these photos he gets online again he walks up you have a chocolate cookie with a lot of stuff get out of here because you have a chocolates one more time you come in here I'm gonna close your mouth with Crazy Glue you understand if you're stressed and the kid walks out and she looks like it comes back in and he goes you have crazy glue no this is a bakery oh good you have a cookie so a kid does not get insulted at a certain age you know there's certain age you don't care someone that's one thing I've learned from a kid just keep asking keep asking for Hashem don't get assaulted don't hurt either now the other thing is that a kid nervous system does nothing absolutely don't say nothing there's anything a pocketbook is anything for us and the third thing is that he can cry when they didn't laugh The Nest the older we get the longer it takes us to recover from crying right I'm angry right back yeah I made up I'm not talking to my wife and I told my husband so at least has to go three weeks or else but just get it out and and move on so how can kids have this power how can kids are naturally happy there's a natural giggle in the kid and so the wrist dress is very simple I don't have a it happens is a very happy place and these kids are coming together it takes time until the depression of this world they come down happy and so the nashama the core that's within us is happy and when we force the Goof to smile it generates what's inside also powerful easier said it done but yeah for sure definitely very very very powerful and uh I I think I heard from him that's not an excuse my way not to help somebody somebody comes to you fail those little fake it till you make it you you have to help them in terms of ourselves ourselves right that uh if you smile and uh you for no reason then Hashem will give you a reason for that smile or that's right I'm not sure for what the source is but it's a powerful thing go through that story I don't want to get too carried away here but there's a source original the the Great Pacific master of vision and that's the the Beyond concern oh Beyond nice and let's see uh shout out to be on the event in Barrow Park okay so he went through a lot he was arrested by the Czar and they had to run for his life he went here's the story so his ones for his daughter sorry crafts he said let me tell you a story it's unbelievably wealthy man and he came on me was so upset because he sent this guy to get him white horses and it went exactly like they were both white and he was so angry and God said that's your problem okay next day this horse is dying my horse was starting or so Furious and then that's your problem okay you know next business started going down the make one thing went each time it got more and more Angry each time got something after your problem I'll show you what a problem is that at one point he lost every last penny that he had and he had to go from house to house and collect money and he was still angry so now you're angry he lost his health and he became a he was full of leprosy and nobody wanted to speak to him he won't put these in the woods he's all alone and he looks at one finger and it was cured he goes oh now this one finger became good oh I have hope because you think that's good I'll show you what's good and his hand became good next to his body because I got his business is back and he came all the way back to his horses so he said to his daughter like don't start that what do you gotta go down and up just but honestly where you is we we have a weekend our the spirit that's not what it means but it means come down and know and know you're coming up afterwards amazing powerful very very very in fact as everyone knows uh today's Tuesday November 8th and it's election day and uh many people including some of the Jewish people feel like we are um judged with a magnifying glass uh you know sometimes people uh walk down the street then like are people staring at me this and that uh is there any truth to that that we as Jewish people we have the um the people of the world are zooming into us to Kalisa Jewish people um I think that if we're with smart we were trying to avoid it but the reality is not that way right the state of Israel has put five million people in it it's 1.6 billion six million people it's in in what is it in the world it's such a technology dominates everyone's passion and everyone's emotion for uh for one way or another read the Press read the news stories read the Israel read what's going on and uh I think the reality is uh are we are we held to a higher standard look for our part when you stand out you have to be you know we have to do our best I don't find it where parking places and I don't wait to cut in by the the rabbit lives in bar Park which is right right along the BQE and jump in by the lane that you close no I don't do it first of all I just I'm not good at it second of all it's not worth it it's not whether we have to we definitely yes we have to live like there's a magnifying glass I know so let's see what whatever you're gonna do it's not gonna help people will hate us that's true it doesn't mean we don't have a responsibility the other thing is another one ever meant to be here forever we keep forgetting we were never meant to be here forever and that's what it is and and we're told you know we could try to survive in gallus and it's colorless whether whether whether you like it or not and it doesn't mean we do our Civic duties and we're going to vote and we're gonna we're gonna be good and give this as a question for example but sorry my ears should be so stupid I'm gonna be good okay we but the reality is that guess what we're not going to be here forever we know the world's not going to be a forever Everything Changes the world it moves the whole world those planets turn people move you know what it says in uh sadness it moves in circles but atoms protons or orbits all move in circles why because Hashem says okay you mixed it let me get it that's always giving us another chance right to uh try to get I have to actually quote you I remember one time we had a kazaki and the rabbi came to a specific show I remember which one it was the second time so the rabbi started off by saying coming to speak for a second time could be a positive or A negative the positive being it was good last time and they invited you the second time or it could be a negative that you didn't do well the first time so give me a second so uh rabbit has some really good lines the history of of our history is you know even at times that we had to go to countries at one point I began to crack then I meant to crack in and I said it's no one's full it's just a strange way of saying guess what I got a reminder forever put things into perspective so is that a positive or is that a connection that's what gives someone like it depends it might be like depressing no so again it depends how you cut it okay what's the pressing what's not depressing really is up to uh so let me share this with you I remember once I was in a certain town and I came to a Big Show and it was it was late for my flight and I walked in and uh I went to the back of this coffee there now not only in two gardens and in Williamsburg the school fields for everybody right yeah for sure right so I'm taking a coffee this man comes up with me says he's the president of the show and he says to me are you a member here so sad to no he says it says uh coffee is from Members Only so do you know where I come from you know so there should be able to read things differently like know the story the guy went swimming and the state trooper the ranger comes what are you doing you see the sinuses no swimming allowed he says Oh I thought you needed this way no swimming around yeah [Music] he's asked me well this is this is the this is the uh it's mum and call it's communal funds it's communal funds and this is how this was established this is why we have coffee and I cannot be in the doctor I'm not the one to to how you say the word I I can't give in I can't give it I'm not the one to the thing that's not to my right you probably think I'm mean uh he said it's communal funds and that's the way it is and that's the rule of this shoe you go across the street there's a coffee there's a coffee house across street and so thank you so much for the gaining the permission to go grocery to buy coffee I said trust me I will not forget this company no it's okay it's fine thoughts would be disaster in this town but my son was okay it was fine oh yeah it was a great time then the day before I left wasn't it for a few days it was a little shoe there and I went off to the corner and there was coffee in the back I didn't necessarily need the coffee but I went to the back and I said who's the president there's no president okay who's the guy little happy guy I said can I take a coffee he said sure I said but I'm not a member he goes it's communal funds it's made for everyone so there's this contradiction between the president and the gun is communal funds a reason to have the coffee or not to have the coffee the answer is depends to the gala yeah so we are the Gabon of Our Lives we can't change we're not going to change politics in America we're not going to change politics anywhere in the world politics is a human being we have to decide God put us here for a reason she knows who we are he knows when we are he knows why are you going to sing We have to try to do the best power for power but everyone's says how many times but sometimes which connects really well with the what the rabbi judge just said it's in our hands you've got to relinquish control [Music] some people tell me I hear this once too many times to me but I'll just say it the more the better it must be so I I always say that if you hear something too many times that means you haven't gotten the message yet that means you have to hear it again so you're not doing enough time preparing but anyway there's a flight from New York to Rome uh this summer and the rabbis with your imagination and uh the two pilots fell asleep oh now MC very common the pilots fall asleep because there's autopilot and it's quite boring right over the clouds of the hours and hours but they're not supposed to sleep but they do fall asleep but normally they like sleep you know and I can sleep during your class you know you're like a little you know so that way and so you want to be up you want to make sure when the control Town closer you pick up the radio these guys were out oh okay they must have had a good shot [Music] okay how's it going another king that he wanted uh he couldn't fall asleep and we brought all the doctors all over the world they couldn't get the king to sleep so apparently they put a guildo Hungarian Jewel and he said I gave him a good shot challenge the king wakes up he says to his men are you guys they said no we'll send it to the CDC well the lab test on the show we'll see what it is they came back so you figure it out yes because we figured out how you fell asleep so what didn't you figure out how you woke up we don't know okay so anyway these guys were totally out there they're calling from they're calling and they're not picking up so it got to the point that they were this is they got to the point where they uh I'm getting ready to send that military uh you know place to follow through let's see what's up knows what this is God told another 911 was going on and the guys finally woke up and said I know we're here we're okay everything's all right fine it's a minute you turn around the North Pole where they were going to head back to the Rome whatever the case was and there was a hole to do obviously that's the story so here's a story that I had okay sitting in the back of the plane I'm not saying it's the same play but we'll use our imagination and there's this this middle-aged woman is like staring at me and I don't want to put myself so one thing I said can I help you she goes you don't have your mask on oh my mask was ah I said I am you have to wear a mask though so Masters it's not over your nose I don't know what you think my nose is this is what my mom told him it's over it's not high enough and she's like oh this is this damn serious over here and she explodes she explodes it says all you people it's all your you know you're raising Trump and Biden and measles and covert and inflation and global warming and anything that gives you all your fault and it's all this she's scream grab them and they come over and say what'd you say to her I said I'm saying anything and said do you mind changing your seat I said okay I'll change my seat no problem anyway she's whenever she reads the New York Times Obviously the em in greatest episode okay feel bad folks I would just imagine imagine this woman that says right now she believes right now this current moment that the reason her life isn't dangerous because my mask is not covering hey guys that's what she loses she really believes I feel bad for her and that's just similar to Tapped on the show said by the way you're 30 000 feet over the air right now and you should know the two pilots are sleeping it's letting you know if you want to worry about something right so I think that that's who we are okay we worry about this we worry about that yeah you realize that I'm holding you up now do you understand I'm always you don't even know what to worry about okay I'm holding it I'm holding it up you're doing okay don't worry about that you're in my hands that's what we have to think we don't know something says a very interesting thing he says 90 of the things that we worry look at your life think about this ninety percent of the things you worry about never came to fruition go back to your worries and ninety percent of your real problems were things that came unexpected so most of the time we worry about the wrong things so he says that God puts worry circles into our hearts and we say I got to be a better person Hashem I need you I'm becoming a better person that chef says definitely okay I'll fix it I need I need that feeling I need that moment I need you to be there at that moment so why is God of the warriors with the real problems he puts different puzzles most of the time without worrying about the right thing anyway this is who we are let's see the Mars doesn't accept this tiny set these uh really bright standing with a Leo you know with Elijah and he says who's going straight into town look right those two guys make a long story so what do you two guys doing you'll get easy pass straight into the matter so they say um you know we see somebody we make him laugh so we do we just make our hand we try to make him happy so the martial says or the commentators on the gamara we're in pain God says you know my shoulders are heavy it hurts me so much you have to go through a process God feels our pain and you make someone happy you're actually alleviating God's pain so therefore someone happy you deserve to go straight if they don't have wow so they're very mushrooms around he says answer the interesting question you make a guy laugh okay how long does he laugh for a few moments six seconds right and some people laughing right there that's a little couple of minutes it doesn't change his life how does that what does it help really so he gives the the parable of muscle but imagine uh I'm an Amazon delivery boy FDR or a person right and I'm going to try and express the same with a big package no one's opening the door and I'm buzzing the door and I'm told this package you have to deliver finally someone opens the door I just put it down just for a second thank you wow he says God is standing there he wants to give us so much good but he can't unless we have a positive attitude you make someone laugh for a minute you're just opening the door wow once you open the door you can put things through that amazing such is like so many generals yes we enjoyed every single second of it but we have I mean another custom and Torah talks which is one more final message that I brought audience it was so amazing and uh we really much appreciated by the official
