Day and Night

Baruch atah, Adonai, Eloheinu, Melech ha'olam, asher natan lasechvi vinah lehavchin bein yom u'vein laylah. Blessed are thou, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has given to the sechvi the knowledge to know between yom u'vein laylah, night day and night. A sechvi is we're going to translate it today as a rooster. And we don't have any roosters nearby. We have lots of uh birds. And if you listen, uh besides the car that's traveling by, you can hear the birds. They're all trying to wake us up cuz they know it's time to get up in the morning. And here we have our alarm clock. And we've read in the Gemara about how the rabbis used to carry around a chicken or a rooster with them, rooster. >> [sighs] >> Because that was their alarm clock. And we have to be grateful for everything. And even though today I've got It's in my hand, you can't see it. I got my phone in my hand. And that's my alarm clock. I still have to be grateful to Hashem who's waking me up. And every morning, and then he's using an alarm clock to do that today. And just everything that happens, you should always be thankful. And nothing can go go wrong by being too thankful. Thanks to Hashem for giving the sechvi vinah to know the difference between day and night.
