Iranian hackers broke into Israeli government networks by targeting the local IT companies that manage their computer systems. The attackers disguised a virus that looks like a routine software update. Because of this, the IT companies unknowingly sent the malicious program straight into the government agencies. From there, the hackers gained access to connected government computers. The Israeli cyber security firm Checkpoint released a a report on Monday exposing the attack.
