hi deborah loewy here and welcome back
to another episode of meetings where we
discuss torah topics
to help us grow last episode we left off
with an exercise
an exercise in building an attitude of
gratitude and that's where it all begins
but this week i'd like to move on to
gratitude within relationships revolvey
says an amazing idea he says
a relationship that has gratitude has
love
and what's scary is that a relationship
that doesn't have gratitude
he says can lead to hatred those are
scary words
he says let me explain it's just human
nature the people that are constantly
around you they have negative traits
just like anybody else
just like me and you and everyone else
and people have bad days
and those negative traits come out but
human nature is
such for whatever reason that when we
see negative traits in other people
our mind just focuses on them and if
we're not constantly also feeding our
mind
with the good that they have and
appreciation and expressing that to them
the relationship will just spoil it
doesn't matter he says how good the
relationship started out
it's just it's just science if there's
not gratitude within the equation
forget it and so therefore the exercise
for this week
could be simple or it could be very
difficult you see if you're used to
expressing gratitude
to your friend your spouse your children
your parents your employee your employer
whoever it is that's around you
then you'll naturally keep on doing it
and you'll naturally have good
relationships all around you
but if you find it to be difficult to
express gratitude to other people
then it's that much more critical than
you work on this exercise
and try to take this week every day and
express gratitude
to someone around you whoever it may be
i thank you for joining me and i look
forward to seeing you next time
