Elimination of Shmita produce | Part 1 - Time of elimination

[Music] starting to do another section in the laws of shemitah to eradicate or to remove destroy the term is familiar when we do hamitz before pesach we take all the comets together and then we burn chapter is called the elimination the removing eradicating the fruit of shavit and it says as follows i'm only allowed to eat fruits of chevit as long as the same type of fruit can be found in the field now needless to say that if i'm eating the fruit of chevit then by now you should be very well aware that i can only eat it if it was abandoned and i went to some field and i took it or that as i said that i bought it from somebody who they took it and with all the rest of the details that we learned but i'm only allowed to eat it while the same type of fruit can be found in the field fruit vegetables same thing now where do we learn this law from says in the book of chapter 25 7. translation and all of its produce may be eaten also by your domestic animals and by the beasts that are in your land which means that the fruit and the vegetables have to be in the land so just for the sake of the example let's say i have radish at home and i am aware that there's no more radish in the field all the radishes are done then i have to get rid of all this stuff that i have in my home so i said it's not so simple how do i know if there's any anything left or not but let's see what it says and then we'll see how hard it is to do it as long as the this fruit or vegetable can be found in the fields or in the orchard or the plantation whatever it is and an animal can come and eat it then you can eat with what you have in the house it's somehow finished no more to find in the field then you have to do boo from what you have in the house you have to do the elimination and again not so simple we take from that that if a person has any type of produce in his house that is called kudoshim meaning that it's from the year of chevita potatoes have onions i have carrots i have a lot of an animal will come and take it then it doesn't matter if it's a ripe not right it's there um so as long as you can find the one in the field then you can eat what you have in the house now what happens if the fruits that fell from the trees were picked from the trees whatever is left is completely rotten completely completely rotten it has to be so rotten and even an animal can eat it or wouldn't eat it and you won't need it but an animal will eat it then it's considered you can it's still existing in the field and then you don't have to do the bill but once the fruit of the vegetable completely is rotten to a point that animals won't eat it that's it it's the time to do the bio tv but once the fruit the vegetables they don't exist anymore rottening everybody picked it animals ate you see a little bit of the fruits it's not edible it's only going to be edible next year so that's really considered schminitz so it doesn't have kedusha of sweet so they then then that doesn't include in the fruit and vegetables of chevit so it doesn't stop the beehu from happening and with trees was a little bit different because the fruits they take a much longer time to grow uvera but when it comes to vegetables then you can be a little bit lenient chesman when how do you deal with the vegetables not only when the field is empty but also when it came to the time to the period of so it's saving me from doing the bill so when it comes to vegetables it's a little bit more easier and lenient now what's going to happen here that the ones who were picked in uh schnatchmeet are the shmitah goes by the picking so the new round is doesn't have it but it's still occupying the field so with the vegetables it's a little bit easier the problem starts with a fruit so now we just stay we're talking about hypothetically how you do it in next classes we'll talk more practically but the major rule is that once the vegetable or the fruit doesn't exist on the trees on the floor it doesn't matter if they rot an animal ate it they were removed they were picked now the field is completely empty then whatever i have at home from that type of fruit or vegetable that has to be completely removed from the house and how we do the bio we're going to explain in other sections and of course the the major issue that we have here is how do you know two things that the field is completely empty and also from which part of the division of the land they come from because if i live in the galil and i know fear the fields are completely empty and the the vegetables came from the galil then those are the ones that i have to do the view but let's say i live in the galilee and i know the the fields are empty what happens to me that the the fruit that i bought came from the south or came from another place then of course that i don't have to do the view so it's it comes a little bit tricky and not so easy to follow but uh the i can tell you already that the best advice to deal with the boo is just not to have a lot of things in your home that you buy fresh you eat and that's it and not to start stacking potatoes for months and and things that can be stacked because then you have a problem most of us don't really do the view because maybe in the olden days people will drive to all the fields that are half killed take all the vegetables they can find and then stack the whole house with vegetables now we don't really do that we have other ways of doing it so most houses don't have vegetables and fruits stacked up there they have enough for one week two weeks and that way you don't fall under the the the prohibition of owning or having fruit and vegetables in your possessions when the fields are completely empty but we'll learn much more laws about it even if we're
