[Music] home is a place where you can just be comfortable you can just be still not comfortable that is what I'm talking about God too wants a home in which to feel comfortable okay let's not get carried away God created the universe and particularly earth and mankind so that he could live in it with us wait so like God was homeless well God certainly doesn't need a place to settle down I mean we're talking about God Almighty Creator of heaven and earth creator of you at this very second but he wants a place what that means for God Almighty master of the world to want something which kind of implies that he lacks something don't ask production kindly ask you not to ask I don't know how to answer that question I just I can't but God wants a particular place to be his home to be the place where he is comfortable comfortable enough to reveal himself so what's that particular place the place that God wants to be able to call home is here on earth and more particularly in you a Jew who's on earth hopefully and I mean the same would go if you're on the moon or on Mars but yeah that's right until you bring God into your life until you let him become comfortable in your life God would rather be homeless it sounds like t-shirt rather be homeless I should totally go make that no II know I shouldn't that's not cool that's not a good thing we don't want God to be homeless why am i walking backwards I'm getting ahead of myself here let's get to the Torah portion this week's Torah portion is called to Roma and that means contribution I knew before the roll money I knew it yeah you know it all along the tour portion starts with God telling Moses the contributions we should give for the construction of the tabernacle the what now the tabernacle the physical structure which served as our holy sanctuary God's physical home throughout our trek in the desert I totally don't get I mean to bring God into our lives to do learn Torah do mitzvahs and all that holy stuff that makes sense to me but what's with this actually making a physical house for the most supreme and sublime being the creator of all things wait no actually I get it now the creator of all things created these things for a reason the purpose of these things is that we use these things for him to serve him gold silver and copper for example they're just things physical objects but they were the things the contributions that we gave to build God a home in the desert in the food we eat in the clothes we wear in the way we speak God wants to be comfortable in your physical house for example you can have a kosher kitchen you can put a mezuzah up on the doors and think God can get comfortable because of food because of a scroll of parchment on your door why these are just things yes they are God wants to live with us in this world to the point that even inanimate objects can be used for a mitzvah and thereby become holy so may God a little bit more comfortable in your life and in your world and may God see that we have built him a home in which he can reveal himself and with this revelation the world will have the truest comfort I want to particularly mention the families of the victims of this tragedy in parkland Florida may they be immediately reunited with their loved ones with the revelation of Mashiach now
