I'm sorry that I I came late.
I will uh in the course of the lecture
will share with you some points and some
examples. You'll understand why I was
late. But uh I want to talk about a very
important
and yet very sensitive uh topic.
something that on the surface
some might say, "Oh, that has nothing to
do with me." But the reality is what I'm
going to talk about tonight applies to
every f every person, young, old,
female, male, Jew, non-Jew.
And I think it's one of the most
important topics one needs to focus on
today in our days.
And
the topic is why do we suffer?
Many of you have the idea and many of
you hear it from many different places.
God loves you. God loves you. You hear
it from many different places. Oh yes.
Okay. If God loves me so much, why do I
suffer?
Now
I can make a survey now or ask you all
to raise your hands. But I don't need to
do that because I know the answer. But
if I would ask you now to anyone who's
now suffering in some type of a
situation please raise your hand and
everybody would raise their hand. And a
person who doesn't raise their hand then
either lives in denial or lies to
themselves or in such a high spiritual
level that it's not even suffering.
So you see the diff the the the
difference either the person is in
denial or in a huge high high level that
it's not even suffering.
And the sad reality is that if you look
at every living person right now or you
look at yourself, everybody is suffering
some type of a situation, a challenge.
It can be a financial crisis, can be
health crisis, it can be divorce, it can
be uh being single for 20 years and
battling loneliness, can be depression,
it can be a million in one things. Every
person has his own share. Your troubles
has nothing to do with my troubles. For
me, my troubles are the worst and yours
are easy.
But the sad reality is that each and
every one of us in this at this moment
has something bothering them in their
mind, something bothering them in their
heart, something is annoying them
emotionally, physically, and they're
dealing with some type of challenge.
Some people it's small challenges every
day. Some people is one challenge
already for two years.
I don't think I even need to continue
explaining my point. The sad reality is
then you don't have to nod and you don't
have to raise your hand. It's enough for
me to look at you and I can tell you
what you're going through.
So now of course comes the big question.
A if if you say that God loves me so
much then why do I suffer? Why do we
suffer? Why is there so much pain and
suffering in the world? And now nowadays
it's like uh every 2 minutes
30 40 years ago. Okay, there was some
challenges.
Now the world is so under pressure.
It can be an entire nation as a nation
and one individual or one family.
And another thing that I find
which is not the right way of doing it
is that most people are not willing to
acknowledge the situation.
So they're putting on a fake happiness
or unfortunately many the fake happiness
will come with abusing drugs, alcohol or
whatever type of habits to uh forget all
my troubles.
That's not a solution. But in many of
the situations, people are so lost with
advice that they they they neglect the
fact that there's a situation, there's a
problem.
But each and every one of us late at
night when the door is closed, when the
phone is off, when you're sitting with
yourself,
well, there's a little bit of a
chaos going on in your mind. You worry,
you're sad, or you whatever it is, you
you you're confused. you're under
pressure.
So some people it's more, some people
it's less. Some people deal with it in a
more
mature manner, some people don't. But to
conclude, what I'm trying to say is that
right now every person in the world is
suffering from something. And the
reality is that every person is not
suffering from one thing, is suffering
from a lot of things. And if they're not
really suffering particularly themselves
then they seeing all the suffering of
other people their children their loved
ones or other individuals and they that
causes them also suffering.
So at the end of the day if I want to
summarize it in one little phrase there
is a lot of suffering and and and pain
in the world and
and yet we know God loves us right. So
what does he stop loving us when when
we're suffering? So 10 years I'm going
through hardships and challenges. So
that 10 years Hashem doesn't love me.
And then I do something and he starts
loving me. Or when I'm if things are
good, he loves me. When things are not
good, he how does it work?
So
the purpose of the suffering in the
world can be explained in many many
different ways. many many different
ways. I will cover some of them that you
can relate with at least one. I would
rather spend most of the time today and
more talking about solutions than just
presenting a problem. We all have we all
know there's a problem. every person
today besides dealing with many
different things at the same time.
I don't think there's one person in the
world right now that doesn't feel how
the world is under pressure. It looks
like the world is closing in. Time is
going faster and faster and faster.
Nothing gets done.
Nothing barely gets done. That's
something that I lately noticed.
Everybody's busy, busy, busy. Nothing
gets done.
I'm the proof to that. I landed two
months ago, less than two months ago
from the last uh uh trip and I knew I'm
coming in whatever it was, six, seven
weeks forward.
And I started the day I landed preparing
to the trip and before I knew it, boom,
a week before the trip, 20% is done. 80%
is not done. I've been working 20 hours
a day with a 15 people crew. Nothing is
done. How?
I thought something's wrong with me. But
then I noticed that everybody's like
that. They work. They do. They toil.
They go crazy. Nothing gets done. No
results. You move forward one step. Time
flies like an F-16.
But your productivity is like you're
working a minute a day.
So that's another way of seeing that
kadu is already relating to the world is
start starting to introduce to the world
a different reality.
So
first since I want to cover a few points
of the suffering I will divide it into
two groups and then I like I told you I
rather focus on solutions and focus on
what what needs to be done. So there are
many different types of suffering and
again suffering is uh uh it's a
definition for me suffering is a and for
you suffering is b now when the talmud
is talking about the concept of
suffering which the talmud calls it isim
then
the talmud presents the situation that
if a person has hardship or some type of
a challenge or in the words of the
if you feel some type of hardship.
Go through your actions and try to see
why would be a reason for you to suffer
and uh you need to do some type of
analysis and introspection of
[clears throat] what's going on. what
did you do today, last day, whatever or
what's the challenge that you're going
through and to try to reverse engineer
why would you suffer in that specific
thing? So to give you one example, you
get a parking ticket or shalom, somebody
bumps into your car and runs off, you
need to pay now $500 to fix the car or
the boiler breaks. So little little
financial erh erh issues.
One person might say it's normal that
the boiler will blow up every 10 years
or that I'll get a parking ticket. I
don't even see that even as suffering.
And a regular individual will just skip
over the fact that that's a sign from
Hashem.
But our sages explain if you have a
situation and we're talking about now
financial and something small. No, I'm
talking like a half a million dollar
lawsuit. Talking about a park car
parking ticket, small dent in the car,
small expenses.
The koshu is hinting to you that you
must have done something in the
department of finance.
Maybe you [clears throat] stole money,
maybe you did gazel and the gazel is for
gazel, the translation of gazel is
robbery. But really gazel is
[clears throat] that you take something
without permission that is not yours.
But you don't have the intention of
stealing. It's not theft. Theft is that
I break the window at night and I jump
in when you don't look and I say
something and I and I and I go. That's
stealing.
But gazel is that I can come to your
hotel and I walk out with the with the
towels and I walk out with the shampoos.
So forget the towels. styles is a little
bit exaggerating. You walk out with the
shampoos and in your mind I'm not
stealing anything. I was in the room.
I'm taking the shampoos.
But really the will tell you the shampoo
is in the shower for you when you're in
the shower. It's not a souvenir.
It's like the towel. If you are normal
not to take the towel, why you taking
the shampoo? So unless instructed
otherwise from the hotel, that's gel.
for one shekele.
I once gave a class about this concept
of gazelle. It was a series of classes
and one lady asked me told me one time
we went for a road trip. We stopped in I
don't know how it's called here 7-Eleven
or something like that. And she said we
just wanted to buy uh some um basic
things and then on the way out they have
like these hot dogs from like 3 weeks
ago. So she was like, "Of course, we
don't we don't buy the hot dogs. We eat
kosher." But there was some ketchups
there and napkins. So I took some
ketchups in the napkin. I told her
that's 100% gazel.
And if the napkin and the ketchup is
costing 36 cents, you are now under the
the sin of gazelle and you owe 36 cents.
And ana will come back here in an
incarnation for 36 cents.
[clears throat]
Why? Because you came in to buy water.
The ketchup has nothing to do with the
water. If you would buy a hot dog, you
can take one of the ketchups. But you
came in to buy a bottle of water. You
want the ketchup, go to the cashier and
tell them, "Can I have one bag of
ketchup? Can I have the napkin?" So
people don't even notice that. But
that's that's what's called gazil.
So when a person uh gets his hint in
with money then you need to think maybe
I owe somebody money maybe I promised
somebody money maybe somebody get lended
me money I didn't pay back maybe I did
some type of gaz something with money
and it's not always going to be the
solution could be that you'll think
thing think okay I didn't do anything
it's not 100% that because you got a
ticket you did something with money I'm
just saying chong how hashem gives you
hints
And I'll give you one example out of
many. Let's say the the example is on
the the body. A person has some type of
sickness. So if I'll give you an example
two years ago, I broke my uh right hand
uh right over here. And when I kept
asking my my hashem, why duffka the
hand? Why the hand? I mean could have
been the leg, could have been the I
don't know any other part of the body.
But since a specific part of the hand
was broken, I was like, "Okay, what am I
doing with my hand? Maybe I'm not giving
enough to the car or I was trying to
think what I'm going through some type
of suffering. Shem is giving me a hint.
He's giving me a hint that I need to
think and to connect. Why did Hashem is
now turning on a red light?"
Exactly like you would be driving in a
car and you're running out of gas, then
the light goes on. Now imagine the light
wouldn't go on, then you would drive,
drive, drive, and then the car stops.
Same thing if you're running out of oil,
you're driving without brakes, you need
the warning lights. So many of the
suffering that that we call it suffering
or challenges that we go through is just
red warning lights. It's not for the
purpose of making you suffer. It's for
the purpose of getting your attention.
So many of the little things that you
deal with and I'm talking about little
things
mainly to get your attention
to get your attention to
watch how you behave to see where you
may be going the wrong the wrong
direction.
Many people are smart you know they see
something is not working out they try to
reverse engineer why this specific thing
is not working out.
So many of the suffering I gave an
example with with a little bit with
money with with health but when it comes
in little doses it's Hashem telling you
check yourself out and it will come
again like I told you in the department
where where the the blemish is and in
many of the cases you don't find the the
the answer but that's the first thing
that the Talmud says look on your in
your actions
now if you do not find anything then
could very much be that this suffering
is from something that you did in a
previous incarnation.
Now imagine now a nama goes up to the
heavens. They char they put the shama on
trial and they find the soul guilty in
this this this and this and this and
part of the tikun is that the soul comes
back into this world in an incarnation
another life and the person will go
through some changes some challenges and
difficulties and that will be the
rectification to something I did 200 300
500 years ago and usually it will be
these little things that I don't put too
much attention to.
On the same level, many of the great
challenges can be a tikun for
rectification from a different life. And
that can be and this we're not going to
put much of time in this lecture to talk
about, but many many many of the big
challenges that we go through, it's uh
tikun from something major that has to
be fixed from a different life. And
that's usually the challenges that a
person goes through in a period of life.
Not like a ticket or not like a broken
hand that it's a very short period. It
will be like a 10 years of a horrible
marriage or 20 years of building a
business and then the whole business
collapse. Something that is significant
in the person's life.
In many of the cases that's that's I
don't like using the word karma because
but many people like they relate with
that but that's your karma. You brought
baggage from a different life whether
you owed a person a lot of money. Maybe
you were mean to a person then it's
going to happen to you. It's all measure
for measure.
It's not [clears throat] that Hashem is
punishing you. Hashem says whatever you
put out that's you. That's what you need
to deal with. Mida connected mida. If
you can't handle the cr the time, don't
do the crime.
So most people don't understand, want I
I I need to deal with such a challenge
like this and like that. Yeah. Don't
ignore that. A year ago, half a year
ago, 2 minutes ago or 200 years ago, you
were very quick to run to do a certain
act.
And again and by the way it's very
important to understand many many people
think that that when you sin a lot or
you sin specific things then you bring
on yourself specific suffering so it's
true to an extent but I know a lot of
people that they have different types of
suffering they attribute it to different
sins that they do and it's not true even
it's not connected and why they think
that because somebody told him oh uh
you're not you don't have parasan Huh?
You have problems with you're probably
breaking the your pa now the person is
like okay who says it's from the Brit I
know a lot of people that battling that
sin they have parasa
usually usually it's not but a lot of
people think that oh I did a certain sin
this is the punishment so I'm already
telling you it's true to a certain
extent but in many many cases that's how
I see it from my experience
The reaction to your action comes a long
time after. It's not instant. For you to
get the reaction instant, you have to be
very loved by Hashem and in a very high
spiritual level that you do now the sin.
Maybe a minute passes and or maybe an
hour or two and you get already back the
reaction. That's a high level that
Hashem doesn't want you even to even
continue sinning or going over or or
messing it up. That right away comes the
sign.
But we don't realize that a lot of our
I call it the reaction to my action.
Sometimes it comes after 20 years. And
you know when it comes in the most
annoying time the when you don't the
most don't need it.
It just waits for you for 20 years here
in the corner for the right moment and
then it comes and then of course you
don't understand where did this come
from what do they do now
so to summarize that department yes
sometimes a person does sins the sins
will bring reactions that the reactions
will be interpreted to many as suffering
lack of money
I can make this deal work also some
damages also these little things
then you have some suffering big or or
little from previous incarnations
and I would say that a large amount of
our challenges and we'll call it again
suffering it's really from sins that we
do and baggage we carry from previous
lives and why is that important to know
for two things the sins that you do then
just stop doing the sin. That's it. Shem
is sending you uh notifications all the
time and you're ignoring the
notification.
It's like the electricity bill sending
you the first notice, your bill is due
in 10 days, then the bill is due in 7
days. Then the bill is due in a day.
Then you don't pay it. 10 days later you
get a message. Your bill is passed due.
Then you get another message. Your bill
is pass. How many bills? How many
messages do they send you? 2 3 4 months.
Then the bills they change color. It's
all red. We're going to shut down your
electricity. You still ignore it. And
then one day the electricity is off.
Exactly when you needed the electricity
to do the most important thing for you
right now. That if you don't do it, you
lose your job, lose your career. You
know what I mean? You need electricity
that moment. That's how Hashem works.
And then you start hitting yourself on
the head. Why didn't Why did I ignore
the bill? I saw the bill. It was on my
desk. Why did I ignore it? And then you
start kicking yourself in the head that
you saw the bill and you didn't pay it.
So it's the same thing with sins.
Again, I like to more look and I'm
staying it from my my
experience.
I like to see how when a person sins,
usually the reaction for that sin comes
much much later. And the reason for that
is that Hashem wants you to do chuva
because if he would punish you right
after you do the sin, it doesn't even
give you time to digest what you did in
order to do chuva. So let's say a person
did a certain sin. So Hashem will send
little messages to wake you up your
attention to you to think, wait a
minute, that is wrong. And you start
getting these messages. Maybe I should
have done that. Oh, maybe I'll do this.
That's Hashem giving you the opportunity
to do chuva. And then he's waiting and
waiting and waiting and waiting and
waiting, sometimes years for you to
repent. And when you don't repent, then
it starts bubbling. Now, okay, you
didn't repent for 10 years. Now you'll
get the reaction of what you did then.
And when it comes now it comes in a
delay. You don't understand why why why
it came.
So first type of suffering is your own
fault.
Your own fault. And I can in I would say
50% of the cases I recognize my
suffering that are it's my own fault. I
as I recognize my own stupidity
which is good. I know what to work on.
And we're human beings. So in many of
the cases it takes three four fives
attempts but a smart person learns gets
assigned and learns and better
themselves. So really the first level of
suffering is warnings from the system
and Hashem warning you you are you are
going off the path.
Where do you see it the nicest? Now in
in in the new cars, there's a wonderful
technology. When you start drifting away
from the
uh lane, then uh the car buzzes or
something, the the wheel moves and
sometimes it pushes you back. The car
pushes you back. So that's exactly what
Hashem does. You look this direction
turns your head back. Don't look there.
It's not your It's not your business.
Unfortunately, most people are not in
the spiritual level to understand the
messages that Hashem is giving them. And
it's not that you need to be.
You just need to work on yourself a
little bit. And you'll be much more
sensitive to the signs that Hashem is
sending you.
As long as you are involved in
activities such as foul language and
cursing and lash cheating and everything
that has to do with your mouth, so you
contaminate your system through this
gate. And if you're listening to junk,
watching junk, whatever comes in through
your gates, that's what makes your
spiritual immune system. So if I want a
strong physical immune system is that I
strengthen my phys my natural immune
system and then I just let my body fight
whatever disease it is. It's the same
thing in the spiritual. You have a
spiritual immune system. If you are
neglecting your spiritual immune system
by letting junk into your domain when
I'm talking about junk and in we have
seven gates two eyes two ears two
nostrils and a mouth
all the gates besides the mouth
are bad but not as bad
the difference between the mouth and the
other gates is the eyes and the ears and
the nostrils
Mainly the problem is what goes in.
There's not much going out that is a
problem. It's what comes in. Through the
eyes is what you're looking at. Through
the nose is what you listen to. Sorry,
your ears. And through the nose is what
you smell.
Now, there's no sin in smelling things.
But beware that the sense of smell is so
sensitive that scent
can change your mood can change a lot of
things in your perception. And if you're
looking at the the marketing
artists or the best marketers, they know
how to manipulate things with smell.
Look at McDonald's. You smell McDonald's
from half a mile away.
So you see that the marketing here is
working on graphics the huge M but the
smell and every person that walks next
to a good bakery a good restaurant.
Wow. [sighs and snorts]
So the difference in the gates eyes the
nostrils and the ears the danger is when
it comes in nothing comes out with the
mouth. The first danger is what goes in.
That's your kosher diet. And then what
goes out.
The main problem is most people who are
observant, they're very particular with
what goes in,
kosher, the meat, the dairy, the but
what goes out,
it's like a one-way street.
And it's sad to see because some people
are so observant. They're so e good
Jews. They follow what Hashem says. And
when it comes to the kosher diet, wow,
magnifying glasses looking at the at the
leaves of the lettuce. But when it comes
for that mouse to reverse the the
direction
from here till tomorrow, slandering,
lying, cheating, cursing.
So when you don't guard your gates, you
are defecting your spiritual immune
system. That's the the simple
explanation. Don't don't need to to now
get into too many details. When our
sages tell you you guard your eyes,
guard your ears, guard your nose, guard
your mouth is again not to annoy you.
It's not to contaminate your body. Now
when your body is contaminated, of
course the nama gets dirty. When the
nishama gets dirty, don't expect to have
what I call spiritual imu immune system.
Which means you what happens when a
person has a weak physical immune
system? He's constantly sick. Constantly
weak. So it's the same thing
spiritually.
If you are weak and sick spiritually,
how are you going to grow? You don't
want to do mitzvot. When you're sick
physically, you don't want to go out of
bed. You just want to lie in bed and
leave me alone. So when you on the same
level spiritually, you don't feel like
doing mitzvot. There's no excitement for
a mitzvah. you're spiritually sick
and the result is again what's
surrounding you. So a smart person again
every every individual should be
observant. It doesn't it doesn't give
any exemption in the Torah for your age
or geographic location or your
background. If the Torah says you have
to observe Shabbat, it's with no
exceptions. We all have to observe
Shabbat. Whether you agree with it or
not, it's irrelevant and nobody's asking
you
>> and the dua instructs us to eat kosher.
It doesn't say, well, if you're in the
ages of 30 to 40 and you are a male
in the eastern, then you and you are
exempt.
[snorts]
No, the Torah says you're not allowed to
eat mix and mixed meat and dairy. It's
for you. You you you. It's for
everybody.
So, it's not that you should be what?
more religious than me and I should be
less religious.
[laughter] It all depends on the
individual. Some individuals
understand that the basic things is just
for their benefits and some people
don't.
So when it comes to the basics basics of
basic because a lot of people I know a
lot of people say listen I I love the
Torah I love the mitzvah but I'm not
really in the level of doing all these
things. So what now? Right now I'm not
in the level to be so close to Hashem
and so I'm going to be suffering.
So first of all, the answer to that is
yes.
Okay. But when Hashem does see that you
are
working on yourself and you're taking on
yourself to change and you are really
serious,
he sees in the future what will be the
result. So he gives you the benefit of
the doubt. He puts you in some type of a
buffer and nothing happens till you
really do chuba.
But to conclude the area of this
suffering, it's yeah, it's your sins.
It's your sins from this world and it's
your sins from a previous life. And like
I told you, you can't do the time, don't
do the crime. Very simple. If you can't
handle these little chachkas, then uh
then work on yourself. Now here I just
have to add one thing cuz many people
who become observant. They say I agree
with what you said. Then I became
observant and then life became worse or
everything became even worse than how it
was.
So first of all don't forget that when
you become observant then you open some
bucket of junk that and then all this
junk starts surfacing.
So
it's almost like when the when when the
body is fighting some disease that when
it's ready to fight the disease then it
will come out from the body somehow
whether through the urine whether
through sweat whether it will come
through the skin and but when the body
is dealing with some type of toxins and
the the body doesn't know how to get the
toxins out for whatever reason normal h
behavior of the body the toxins will
come out from your your your urine from
sweat and otherwise but many times the
the toxins they can't go out so we come
with all sorts of rash or different
different sicknesses
the exact same thing that's how it is in
the spiritual level there there's not
not much of a difference so when I let's
let's define it that if I keep my health
and I keep a very healthy diet then
Maybe after a few years that I I if I
wasn't born like that then I get my body
to a certain level. Technically from
this point and on the body shouldn't be
sick. And the proof is that I know many
people. I have a good friend. He's in
his 70s stronger than me. His diet is
unbelievable. You should see him. He's
strong. He's vibrant. He's you can't
even believe he's in his 70s.
But he looks, you know, an older. You
wouldn't believe he's 70. You would give
him 50.
And you can't even believe how strong,
how vibrant he works in the he has a a
farmer, works in the land like and you
see good diet, good diet, everything is
healthy, doesn't consume any junk. And
you see a 72-year-old man, I'm telling
you, you wouldn't even believe, runs,
picks up things, works hard, happy h
true happiness.
So the same way that works in the
spiritual level you neglect your
spiritual health the nama will start
talking then the shama will suffer and
eventually you will suffer and then you
don't understand where all these
sufferings are coming from and right now
I'm talking about and again it can be
small suffering and it can be the big
suffering. So when you're dealing with a
some type of a challenge,
first thing that our sages say that
understand that there's a very good
chance that this challenge is from a
previous life. Therefore, it says in the
Talmud, you must accept the challenge or
the or the hardship.
Hashem gives you through uh puts you
through a challenge. Accept it with
love. Be very happy that Hashem gave it
to you. If it's from a previous life,
you won the lottery. Not everybody gets
to do a tikun. Shem is presenting you a
situation and he tells you, "Pay the
bill. I'll I'll wipe off the debt."
It's like you owing the bank a million
dollars and the bank comes to you after
a while says, "Listen, I know you don't
have the million. Give me a 50,000 and
we'll call it even."
What? Yeah. So, the does the exact same
thing. Therefore these types of
suffering you need to and again it
doesn't mean that tomorrow you wake up
in the morning you go out of this door
you know how to recognize oh this is
from a previous life oh that is from the
and I'll tell you already don't seek
people who will solve your answers why
do I have this suffering
I know people come to me
I have this suffering what do I need to
do and that's after they went to like
five other rabbis. So if I say do A, B,
and Z, but Rabbi so and so said this and
that. So why are you coming to me if you
went to that rabbi? If he already gave
you an answer, well, you you're shopping
around for an answer.
Whatever is the easiest, you'll you'll
choose.
So the problem is that people go to
whatever fortune cookies or fortune
tellers and all sorts of nonsense like
that and they tell them all sorts of
nonsense and people I end up coming to
me. Oh my fortune teller told me this
and this and that after she read in the
cards and I'm like why? So why are you
coming to me?
If you're running out your answer from
some psychic or some psycho why you come
to me.
So these types of people they're not
happy with the answers with any answer.
You know how many times people come to
me ask for a qu ask a question and
they're not happy with the answer.
>> I'm not happy with your answer.
Okay. So don't be happy. Next time go to
somebody else. What do you think? This
is a community center. You have a then
you have a question. That's the answer.
You don't like it go knock on heaven's
door.
So the ganoshu [clears throat]
is
he built a system that when you do some
type of action there will be a reaction.
You can call it a punishment. You can
call it however you want. But throws at
you some type of a system that whatever
you put out there will come back to you.
You just need to refine yourself to a
level that you understand and make some
type of order in the in the hardships
you're going through. And I will tell
you later how you do that. But you want
to get to a point that you are sensitive
enough and it's not 100%. It will never
be 100%. But you're sensitive enough to
feel that where the hardship is coming
from. If it might be a tikun from a
previous life, if it's a sin that I did
right now, which that is urgent or as
the talle continues by saying if you
went through your actions and you see
that you didn't do any sin and it not
necessarily a sin from a previous life,
then must be that you have to must be
tora. That's one of the sins that tora
means that you can sit, you can you have
the time to learn Torah and instead of
that you're on Instagram or Facebook or
Netflix or whatever other junk you watch
that's Torah. Just know that whatever
whenever you're on your smartphone
looking at the junk that you watch and
all the rest Torah if you're willing to
take it take it
to Torah is not a not a simple sin.
There are a few sins that are said you
say that every day you fail whether you
want it or not. And Torah is one of them
also.
Now again I know a lot of people
that say listen I need a little bit of
uh clearing my mind.
I I don't need to be clearing my mind.
What am I different than you?
>> So clear your mind. Go run. Do workouts.
Do something else. You think that if you
watch some series on Netflix that's
clears your mind. It doesn't clear your
mind. You're just bored or whatever or
in most of the cases you're just looking
your nishama is looking for triggers for
some excitement.
If your nishama is not triggered with
excitement, which can only be done with
Torah, then you're looking for such
little things to excite you and then you
fall into s different sins because
unfortunately our system needs some type
of an excitement all the time. Now if
you are a Torah observant individual,
you have constantly excitement. You get
excited when Shabbat comes.
If you don't get excited before Shabbat
comes, then you will have a very severe
blemish on from Shabbat desecrations and
you need to do serious cha.
If you get excited when Shabbat comes,
then you're you're good to go. So,
tomorrow,
less than 24 hours, measure how excited
you are that Shabbat comes. And I know
most of you will be like, "Oh my gosh,
so I'm in trouble." Well, you all
probably are [clears throat]
not in trouble that somebody's going to
do something to you. But if you don't
get excited for Shabbat, I'm not talking
about excited like when you order your
new Mercedes and in two days it's coming
and then you're really excited. I'm
talking about you feel some type of an
excitement. Now I I see now on your
faces that you're like, "What is he
talking about? Excitement. I only have
chaos before Shabbat. The kitchen looks
like some warehouse. Everybody's
screaming at each other. Nothing works
out.
Excitement.
This guy's deranged.
So, a it's okay. Everybody has chaos in
their house before Shabbat. You're not
the only one. But has nothing to do with
it. If you don't get a little tickle in
your stomach or some little excitement
before Shabbat, even for a second, ask
yourself
why. I I will answer your question. Why
is because you must have desecrated
Shabbat at least once time in your life.
Even if you were born observant, you
desecrate Shabbat. And not to blow the
winds out of your sail, all of you,
including me, desecrate Shabbat every
Shabbat.
you know that I s I I I observed Shabbat
after I became religious maybe I don't
know five years when I was convinced
that Shabbat because I don't touch my
phone I don't turn the lights on and off
I don't drive I don't work I don't use
the phone all that we do
but then when I got to the section in
the in the Jewish code of law about
Shabbat and I started learning it more
in depth I understood that I'm not
keeping Shabbat because I'm failing in
muk all the time failing in borer in
sifting twice an hour in cooking in all
the 39
the basic things you know but the little
things which you don't know then you're
failing
for example you're not allowed to open
the drawer and to go like this through
their socks it's called ber this one
that's ber In order to do that on
Shabbat, you're allowed to put your hand
like this in the drawer and pull out a
piece and and pour whatever sock is
there. Or you prepare it before Shabbat.
So you now learned one in Shabbat and
you see this is one out of many
of little things that you I didn't think
about that. So you're obligated to learn
that. Take on yourself twice a day. Oh,
sorry once a day.
You match yourself with him. You match
yourself with him. You with him. Do
something productive after this after
this lecture and make you after this
lecture. You didn't come here for food
and there maybe there's food in the
back. I don't know. I see you come for
tora. If you didn't come for the Torah,
why'd you come to take a selfie with me?
Can find that on Amazon. And I have a
picture like this. And you just insert
yourself and you have a selfie with me.
I hope you came tonight to be inspired
and to take tools home. So I'm just I
just gave you now a golden nugget. Learn
two Shabbat every day. Which means that
on Shabbat you can apply 12 new things
or restrict yourself or refrain yourself
from 12 new things and in two years
you'll be in a 10 times higher level of
Shabbat observance.
That's what you need to focus on. Most
of us, by the way, you're doing your
best. Hashem sees that. He's happy. He
loves that. But then he sends me to tell
you, step it up a notch cuz you're
really not doing it right. That's it.
Don't be offended. Be happy. And by the
way, unless you really learning Shabbat,
even if you keep Shabbat for 50 years, I
can guarantee to you there are things
that you're failing in. Many different
things. I see sometimes on Shabbat how
people do things. If they fold the toita
or don't fold the tit if they fold the
tablecloth or don't fold the tablecloth.
When are you allowed to fold the
tablecloth on Shabbat? When are you not
allowed to fold the tablecloth on
Shabbat? And a million other things.
Most people don't even know how to pour
capativ for themselves on Shabbat
because you have the concept of cooking.
And if the water is too hot, you are
cooking what's in the cup and you can
cook water.
And just the other day I by mistake said
some
that h that the one of the students came
to me. She's like I don't believe I did
some but you said I'm doing it for
years. And what did I say? I I was
talking about something completely
different. And I said how important it
is to have hot beverage in on m Shabbat
cup of tea soup to drink something hot
on mabat
and then as I'm explaining the concept
that I'm saying but be very careful not
to use the hot water from the hot water
earned from Shabbat
new hot water because these are that's
hot water from Shabbat and you're not
allowed to prepare something for on
Shabbat to Shabbat. You can't drink the
hot water that's in the hot water that
had was on Shabbat the entire on the
counter. You need to empty it completely
and you boil new water.
And this lady
>> in her 60s who's observing Shabbat all
her life, she was like, I never heard of
that.
She tells me, can you give me the
source?
She's like, "I never heard of that." And
I said, "Well, no. That's why you need
to learn Torah because you can do a
mistake for 10 years and you don't even
know that you're doing a mistake.
And what's the solution to not knowing
that you're doing a mistake to fix it is
you need some signs.
So don't get discouraged
by the signs or by the tests that Hashem
is doing to you. He's basically telling
you, "Hello, wake up." you're not doing
it right. Change something.
So, like I told you before,
a person needs to better themsself all
the time. Not only for the sake of
following the mitzvot and not only to be
a good following god-fearing individual.
Half of the things you do is just for
your own benefit.
When you keep on a very strict spiritual
diet, if it's a physical diet, then you
eat vegetables, you eat fruit, you don't
eat sugar, you don't eat white flour,
you don't eat at certain hours, and
you you
guard your your your health and you see
results from that. So you need to do the
exact same thing spiritually.
So many of the times what you're doing
as a is not necessarily under the
category of a mitzvah. Yeah, it's titled
as a mitzvah or it's tagged as a
mitzvah, but it's a certain act that
will refine yourself that again I use
this term. Your spiritual immune system
is strong. Your mind knows how to deal
with things doesn't falls into
depression and sadness and anxiety for
every little thing that comes to your
direction. So when a person is really
keeping a good spiritual diet, it's for
his own benefit. And what's this good
spiritual diet? Of course, following the
Torah and the mitzvah, that's no
question here. But when a person
refineses themselves, guards themselves,
all these little things eventually allow
you to be more refined and more
sensitive to the signs that Hashem is
telling you. So I started by telling you
the the way to reach to this refinement
that I'm talking about, not any type of
that specific refinement is when you
guard all your gates. You guard your
eyes, you guard your ears, you guard
your mouth, you guard your nose.
Any gate into the body has to be
guarded. And when you guard these gates,
of course, the first thing that will be,
you'll be a much better person. Second,
you'll be a much spiritual, much more
spiritual person. You'll sin much less.
But one of the most important things
that's going to happen to you is that
you're going to become spiritually
sensitive.
Most people right now are not
spiritually sensitive. They do the
mitzvot and they don't even get excited
before Shabbat comes.
I told you, let's do the test tomorrow.
You have to report. If you got excited
before Shabbat,
please. If you didn't get excited, don't
report cuz then all the reports I know
all the reports will be I didn't get
excited. I want to get like two emails
of somebody says I felt something but it
passed after 3 seconds.
You need to get to a point. And again,
each person gets excited from something
else. One person gets excited because he
got a brand new car. Understandable. I'm
on that side. One person will get
excited cuz she got a gorgeous dress.
Don't relate with. But nevertheless,
every person gets excited from something
else.
Think what gets you most excited. A
vacation,
buying a new clothes, or whatever. What
gets you excited? Some people it's
nothing too materialistic at all. Even
sometimes people get excited when their
kids are doing good successful bring a
good report card.
You ask yourself what gets you excited
reverse engineer it and now try to
understand why you don't get excited
when you have the opportunity to do a
mitzvah.
I know your answer.
It's coming and cooling me down. Right?
As it says in the Torah,
cools you down. So why would I get
excited for a mitzvah? I get excited for
nonsense.
But you have to ask yourself, why am I
not getting excited for a mitzvah? I
should get excited from doing a mitzvah.
Are you excited to come tonight?
>> Why?
>> Here.
>> That should excite you to learn.
to learn. That's what Jacob says. I was
I'm excited to learn, which means you're
attributing it to me.
>> Okay, we can refine that. But you know,
I'm not challenging or attacking you.
I'm just saying you what gets you
excited cuz you wanted to see me to
learn from me to get some that's it. Why
don't you get that in the morning when
you're about to put fill in on or why
don't you get excited tomorrow for
Shabbat or any other mitzvah? Yeah, I
don't think this is
so
first of all to if you starting on your
cart there's one smart lady who's
writing notes there. First of all, I
told you start learning to every day. It
will take you 4 minutes,
5 minutes, maybe 6 minutes to the long
halot.
A, you are going to perform the mitzvah
of learning Torah. And more than that,
you are bettering yourself for observing
Shabbat. Do that for a few more months.
Raise the raft in your Shabbat
observance.
Trust me, then you're going to start
feeling some excitement for Shabbat.
Now, you might attribute it because you
can't wait to eat the amazing meal that
your wife makes
or you can't wait for the alcohol that's
going to be on the table and for all the
friends to come in and we have a few
good drinks and we're laughing and we're
singing and
so, okay, you're getting there. You're
getting there. You're getting excited
because everything that I just said on
Shabbat, it's a mitzvah. Anything you do
on Shabbat, it's a mitzvah. You eat,
it's a mitzvah. You're with your wife,
it's a mitzvah. Everything is a mitzvah.
You drink, you're happy. Of course,
drink normally, not to drink 50 bottles.
You drink to be happy. It's a mitzvah.
Put it to the test. Smart people apply
what they learn. Learn to every day now
with another person, not yourself.
Because yourself, you're not going to do
it. You're going to zoom through.
When you learn it with another person,
then one needs to explain to the other.
You ask each other the questions. Make
make it a five minute call.
I guarantee to you that after a while
you will start feeling some excitement
for that mitzvah that is called jabbat
because you invested in it and you
refine yourself a little bit and that's
what you want to do. Now I'm talking
about refining and guarding the gates in
order for the person to be even more
spiritually sensitive. Most people are
not spiritually sensitive. What does
that mean? Spiritually sensitive. Is
there a man here in this room that
fainted once from putting fill in?
No. You know that I
witnessed
a man who came to my yeshiva I don't
know a few years ago.
Uh, it was alul.
Somebody took out the chafar and told
me, "Rabbi, please blow the chauffar."
Some people have the custom every day in
ul to blow the chauffar. [clears throat]
I blew the chauffar.
This man fainted. He fainted.
He literally in front of us fainted.
When we woke him up, came the whole
thing.
Uh he looked at me like as if he saw
Hashem
and he's like what was this noise that
you did or not noise the voice and I
told him this is a chauffar he's like I
never ever heard the chauffar blowing
and he got so
I don't know if you call it overwhelmed
he fainted. I saw with my own eyes a man
fainting
from a mitzvah.
We were so shocked. Later on, we learned
he's a kuhen and he's uh from somewhere,
I don't know, Oregon, somewhere in the
middle of nowhere. He didn't even know
he's he just found out that he's Jewish.
That's why he was in Israel.
But I saw with my own eyes a man
fainting from hearing a chauff. And I he
told me, "I'm not diabetes. I am not uh
I don't know weak heart, low blood
pressure. No one in the measure. He's
like never in my life something like
this happened. And he was shaking. He
says I never heard such a voice. I never
heard such a sound.
So okay, I'm not expecting you to faint
from every little mitzvah that you do,
but you want to strive to get to a point
that you get some excitement from the
mitzvah that you do. If you get excited
to go to the gym and you get excited to
watch a movie and your new the new
episode is coming out from your favorite
series or whatever, why you get excited
from nonsense? Because you feed it all
the time. If you will refine the gates,
then you'll see that the body and the
soul becomes more refined. And when the
soul is refined, then you're sensitive
to the mitzvot. And when you do it the
wrong way, you feel bad. You put the in
after of or whatever it is that you do
something and you did it wrong. You feel
it. You're upset. You feel that you did
the mitzvah not the right way. So next
golden nugget you should write down and
go and apply is that you need to refine
your gates to make your soul sensitive.
[cough] And when your nama will be
sensitive, why am I telling you all
this? Then it's easier to recognize
where the suffering is coming from. If
you are completely in a calm state
and you're not getting overwhelmed and
excited, then it means that it's a
something something small and you and
you're by by accepting it, you're doing
the tikun.
And it doesn't matter where it came
from. If it came from previous
incarnation or from a sim you did, you
understand that Hashem is giving you an
opportunity to clean your own blemish.
So you don't get excited for, okay,
whatever. Take it. Ah, whatever. Oh, the
boiler exploded. H, somebody bumped into
my like whatever.
But you need to reach to the spiritual
sensitivity to understand more or less
where it's coming from. If it's coming
from sins that you do, then you need to
straighten your path. If it's coming
from a previous incarnation, then uh you
should be very very happy that Hashem is
doing it for you. He's cleaning you off
your debt and he's removing off
blemishes from your nisha.
>> [snorts]
>> Now, of course, and I don't want to
dwell on too much on the facts that when
you're doing sins, there's reactions.
You by yourself need to figure out that
if you do something severe, then the
reaction is going to be severe. You do
something small, the reaction is small.
So, if you're going through something
very hard, a challenge that is very
hard, then after you do your analysis,
it might come from a severe sin that you
did. And like I told you, you try, we
have to try to recognize what's the
challenge and see if it has a common
denominator with one of your sins. If
it's connected somehow to Shabbat, if
it's connected somehow to if it's
connected somehow to
the most important
advice is don't do it in OCD manner like
do it in a normal way not to be
compulsive like on every oh my god and
this and that.
and worse to go ask everybody's advice.
I I don't like when people come and ask
me this type of advice because I don't
know
and nobody will know. The only one that
can know is you and the only one that
can know is how is if you work on your
silver. I'm not telling you now to
become the next chief rabbi of Israel.
I'm just telling you guard your eyes,
guard your ears, guard your nose, and
guard your mouth. Sounds easy. You
you'll feel the change. And women also
have to guard their eyes. It's not that
men only can't look at inappropriate
pictures. Women also have to guard their
eyes. Now, it doesn't mean women have
the same challenge as men. Women have a
different challenge. They look at the
dress of their of of that woman and get
full of jealousy. Or they look at
another woman that her husband is
powerful, rich, successful, and gets
full of hate, resentment, and jealousy.
Doesn't matter what you look at. The eye
can look in many different directions
and be troubled and to be annoyed.
And the same thing with the ears,
listening to listening to the wrong
music, listening to people who whine all
day long and etc, etc. And same thing
like I told you people are fixated that
is for a man not to look at a woman
who's not
is also not to sit in front of your
phone for four hours
and and look at junk on Tik Tok and
Instagram and people crashing on the
floor and dogs dancing and what all
sorts of junk.
You're laughing because you all know
you're doing it.
And you're like, "Oh, he knows the one
with the dog." Huh. It's a good one.
But the sad reality is that everybody's
entertained from these things.
So to conclude this part,
like I told you, many of the suffering
coming from a previous life, many of the
suffering coming from your sins. The
only way for you to understand,
recognize, and deal with it, you have to
refine yourself. That's it. No other way
less required from you Torah learning
and stuff like that. More guard your
gates which you just have to have a
plan. What am I watching from now and
on? Okay. I I understand some people
need like you say I need to relax. I
want to watch my Netflix series once a
week or [clears throat] once a week I
want to watch a movie. First of all, I'm
not judging anybody. You do whatever is
good for you, whatever is easy for you.
I'm just telling you that even if you're
in this level, then you need to slowly
slowly slowly refine yourself and grow
and grow and grow and understand that
Hashem really wants you to spend your
time learning Torah and not watching
movies
once a month to watch a movie. And
again, don't take it as I'm giving you a
by the way.
What I'm saying here is not them right
signing off permissions. I'm just saying
if you're already doing it, then let's
just minimize it. So if you're in the
level that you're all day long watching
movies so watch a movie once a month
make it exciting
do once a month you watch a movie and
not twice a day or you know what I mean
h but I again if you're asking me don't
watch the movie at all throw the TV out
of the window but if you're already
watching the movies
and the same thing with everything
you're already on your phone you you use
your phone use your phone for
productivity and if you have a weakness
and you're watching junk all day long on
the phone. So from 3 hours, reduce it to
two hours and from 2 hours to an hour
and for an hour to half an hour and get
your five minutes of the videos you need
to watch, laugh and this is it. Put it
away. Eventually you'll figure out
you'll see what a waste of time it is.
So to reach to the sensitivity to be to
understand the hardship, the challenge
where it's coming from, it's only if you
refine yourself. Now it's so much more.
So if you refine yourself in levels of
mitzvot and Torah, that's of course
ultimate. You still learn Torah all day
long and your kosher diet is amazing and
you observe Shabbat and you and you
follow the Torah. That's a whole
different level of sensitivity.
When I'm saying sensitivity that you
recognize and you realize what's going
on. Most people don't know what's going
on. And what do they do? They go to the
rabbi. And why do you go to the rabbi?
You think the rabbi has some office
depot and he has a book of of answers.
So why do you go to a if you want a big
a good solution a big rabbi not the
community rabbi? Oh we're going to go to
the other side of the world to see so
and so but why you go to this rabbi?
You know [clears throat] why you go to
him? Because that rabbi that you hold in
a very high level he doesn't say
he doesn't cheat. He doesn't lie.
He doesn't desecrate Shabbat. He doesn't
look at women. He doesn't do things.
He's he's he's a he's holding the weight
of the Torah. So his mind is sharp. So
he sees things not how you see it.
That's it. So you go to ask advice from
the great rabbi. And why is he able to
give you this advice? Cuz he doesn't
have all these filters in front of him
that block him from seeing the truth.
Because like I told you, his kosher diet
is strict. He doesn't have discounts in
the Okay. Today,
you gave yourself a discount. No pro.
No, I'm I'm not your enemy. Give
yourself as many discounts as you want
if you need to. Just know that you're
moving yourself away from and then the
vision becomes blur. So don't you're not
going to understand anything in your
life. [clears throat] Again,
going back to the rabbi, why do you go
to him? Why is the rabbi so sharp that
he's able to give you good answers? How
would that start with? How does he even
remember all that he learned? But he's
more smarter than you. I know people who
are mathematicians, physicians, amazing
lawyers. Give them a they don't even
know how to read three lines and teach
them the sugra
has nothing to do with intelligence.
Torah is holy and if you are holy you
will hold the Torah and then you will
remember the Torah and then when a
person comes to ask you a question you
just need to go to the archive and pull
two examples from whatever you learned
or whatever whatever experience you have
oh you just see it right in front of
right in front of you
because if I damage my eyes in any type
of way me
whether it's watching movies all day
long whether it's through judging people
not the right way whether it's looking
in inappropriate places if I don't guard
my eyes then how would I be able to see
things in this world and perceive what's
going on then I will see it how you see
it I see it like a human being I don't
see the godly hand here I don't
understand the divine message here I
don't understand what Hashem is hinding
to me so I'm again lost in my own maze I
go around I don't know maybe it's from
this and I go to this rabbi tells me Oh,
you're doing that. You go to this rabbi.
Oh, you're doing this. And then you're
like, you don't know what to do.
So, I tell you what to do. You need to
refine yourself. And it's just good for
yourself. It's only going to be good for
yourself. And why? The more you refine
you are, the more excited you are to do
to right now. You have to understand if
you are a bal chuva or a convert or
maybe a person who was born a religious
but somehow went a little bit back and
went back up. That's again called a
bala.
Do you remember how excited you were in
the beginning?
Right? You were excited in the
beginning. Put that Philly in the first
time. How excited I was in the first
year. It was unbelievable.
And it's not that I'm not excited now,
but now it's like already 20 years. It's
like, but in the first year, I was
excited. First time to go up to the
Torah, I was shaking like what if they
ask me something? I don't know how to
say the
that's good excitement. Why you not
excited now?
Next,
besides what I just said, now that's a
portion of your suffering. Now, let's go
to another type of suffering. The other
type of suffering, it's the majority of
the suffering that you go through. And
I'm using the word suffering because in
Hebrew, it would be called and not
always it's the right way to say
hardship, suffering, challenges.
You know what I'm talking about.
A large amount of theim that a person is
going through, it's nothing but 100%
Hashem is testing your reaction.
That's it.
He's testing of course you it's a test
but mainly your reaction.
And the will throw a challenge in you at
you. Now he's waiting to see how you
react. If you are upset, if you lose
your temper, if you start blaming
everybody, if you do chuva, if you sit
down and pray to him, what he wants to
see what do you do? How are you going to
digest now the challenge I threw at your
at your face? So he throws at you some
type of a challenge, an
waiting to see. He's waiting to see if
you will fail in the test, meaning
falling to the sin or not. There's many
different tests here. Now the test
sometimes comes in a form that you
suffer from it. What would be the test?
I'm trying to do a lecture in Los
Angeles. [laughter]
Uh
I'll explain. But what's example of the
test? You're you're trying to to to
achieve something. You're trying to do
something good. Good. I'm not telling
you now that you're trying to rob a bank
or you're like conspiring now to I don't
know what you want to do something good.
You want to invite a rabbi to speak in a
shoe or you want to make a
evening. You want to fund raise for
whatever you want to do something good.
You see a family in despair. You go
around to try to help them
and then you can't seem to do anything.
like all the doors are closed like as if
is sabotaging in your opportunity to do
something good
and I'm just giving you one example of
many
puts you in a situation that the
translation to yeah you're suffering
from the result of it and you are being
challenged
the first thing that comes up to your
mind if you are a little bit observant
is why is Hashem doing it to me but in
in a ver in a form of complaining
not like a oh my gosh what did I do that
Hashem is doing this to me
but many people are like why is Hashem
doing it to me I'm such a good person
I gave sedaka yesterday I learned Torah
I do this why is Hashem doing it to me
the reality is that Hashem wants to see
your reaction when you are hit with a
challenge Especially
that comes in a disappointment. You work
work work work. You didn't get it right.
You invested, it didn't work. You wanted
to do something big, it blew up in your
face.
But nevertheless, there are many
different types of challenges.
And why is Hashem doing it? He wants to
see a reaction. Why does he want to see
a reaction? because
wants to give a lot of merit to the to
the nation of Israel.
So he gives him a lot of Torah and a lot
of mitzvot. He gives you a lot of
opportunity to do mitzvot.
Hashem wants you to earn your mitzvah.
Hashem wants you to earn your reward.
So what do you think? He's just going to
give it to you for free.
So like a king that is testing his son
to be the next king, Hashem is testing
you all the time because he wants to see
if you learn from your mistakes. He
wants to see if you really learn from
the Torah what you learned and you apply
it.
So Hashem is going to put you through a
challenge and then starts the
observation.
A he wants to see how upset you get and
what would it lead to? Would it lead to
Would it lead to cursing? Would it lead
to violence? Would it lead to you being
impatient with your wife and kids? Would
it lead to you developing feelings of
revenge towards the person who did
something to I mean your your mind
starts going through some type of a a
storm.
First test, how are you reacting? And
Hashem is waiting to see your reaction.
And you need to learn from that that
half of the sins that you do, it's
because Hashem manipulated a situation
that he knows you will sin. He made it
that you will sin
just to see how you react when you sin.
If you fall into anger, despair, if you
rise right up, rush off all the dirt, if
you quick to do chuva, if you quick to
anger, half of what Hashem is testing
you is just to see your reaction.
Therefore, our sages explain in many
different ways. Something happens. First
of all, chev sit down. Don't do nothing.
You quick to analyze the situation,
you'll you'll do it wrong.
There was a situation there not too long
ago and I got me very very upset.
Believe it or not, I get upset too.
Once I used to break what would be in
front of me. Now I just take a deep
breath. But I get upset. I'm entitled to
get upset. Right? So something happened
got me upset and a certain individual.
So that individual wanted to talk to me
and I said very bad idea. You talk to me
in three days. Now if you talk to me I'm
so upset I'm going to eat you alive. I'm
sure I'm going to say something. I'm
sure I'm not going to be able to hold
myself and I'm going to say something
that I'm going to regret. Therefore I'm
not thinking straight right now. Let's
talk after Shabbat and let's talk in
three days
because I know that I don't trust my own
reactions. I know myself already. I know
my reactions. I know how I react to
certain things and I know how to prevent
myself from going into these situations.
And if I know how I'm going to react and
I know how to hold it. So
the test that Hashem is sending you is
like going to the gym. The more you go,
the more stronger you go, the more good
you you become, the more in shape you
become. It's the same thing. The more
you understand the system of the
challenges with Hashem and you know how
to deal with it, you're building your
your your spiritual muscles that you
don't get affected by the challenge. You
understand that that's your workout for
the day.
Because if you ever went to the gym or
lift weights or did some type of a
sport, you'll know gym is a perfect
example because why do you go to the
gym? Whether it's to lose weight, to
become stronger, to be muscular. If you
sit like this on the on the on the
how do you call the bench now and you
sit like this for two hours,
you didn't do anything. You're not going
to go sweating out of the gym. You need
to push, you need to pull, you need the
resistance. The muscle will never grow
if there's no resistance. If I will lie
down on my back now and go like this
5,000 times, nothing will happen. No
muscle growth will be. The only way
there will be muscle growth is if
there's resistance. So, I need to push
something heavy and it's hard and then
maybe some sweat will come over my on my
head. Oh my god.
But that's exactly what Hashem is doing
with you every day. He's taking you to
the gym and he's saying, "Today you're
working on your shoulders. Tomorrow
you'll work on your biceps. Next day you
work on your triceps and chest." And so
today I'm going to throw at you this
challenge. Now let's see how you
working with it.
That's it. And when you work with the
challenge without getting impressed, A,
you become stronger. B, you go up in the
level, the spiritual level to whatever
Hashem wants to raise you. If you don't
have challenges, you will never ever
ever grow. Challenges and this hardship
that you go is the ladder for you to
grow one step after another step after
another step.
How can you relate with that? The
example I gave you with the gym. That's
it. Some people for them going to the
gym for one hour and lifting heavy
weights and sweating that's suffering.
Okay. Some other people like it they
like the the feeling or I think most
people like the result not the feeling
but it doesn't matter. Here you have a
perfect example of a person who goes and
does some hard work and enjoys the
results. A same exact same thing says
what you want to be the same level all
your life. I have big hopes for you.
Look at yourself in your path of Torah.
Look back now, five years, 10 years, and
you'll see by yourself the path you
walked on and how you changed.
All of you. If you're looking from now
backwards, you're not going to see the
difference. If you're going to look 10
years back, you're going to see, wow,
wow, I'm much more observant. I'm much
more learned. I'm much more closer to
Hashem.
So the next type of challenge that we
are going through is Hashem is only
testing your reaction to severe and
extreme situations. That's it. He wants
to see how you react. He wants to see if
you would lose your temper, if you would
hold your tongue, if you will start
cursing, if you talk, if you get
offended, if you get
judgmental, what's the reaction?
Now comes the big question. What should
be the reaction?
[snorts] If your reaction is negative,
then obviously that's not the reaction.
The reaction has to be appropriate to
the challenge that Hashem did. The what
Hashem is hoping to see is that you
don't get angry, you don't get upset,
you don't uh attack, etc., etc.
The main thing in the challenge to in
this type of challenge to understand and
the sign to it is that another person is
involved. The other challenges that I
told you is doesn't have to be
necessarily with a person.
The boiler gets exploded. Okay, here's a
financial struggle right now or
something like that. Usually in the
challenges that Hashem is testing your
uh reaction, it will be with another
person that the person insults you or
the person hurts your feelings or the
person does something that now is
involved another individual and what you
think of this situation is because of
that individual.
So now what happens is that you're
putting your misery on all these people.
I'm sad and upset because my boss,
because of my wife, because of this kid,
and because of the neighbor and so
you're attributing now all your
suffering to other people.
That's the mistake. Nobody's doing
anything to you. And if you want to
blame somebody, blame Hashem.
When your wife annoys you,
it's not she annoying you. Shem wants to
annoy you. So, he put her in your house.
That's it.
[laughter]
And she's not annoying.
She's just being natural her. You are
the problem,
not she.
when somebody else is the problem that's
your red light that you are the really
the problem.
So in these type of challenges when a
certain individual is involved I know
right away that person has nothing to do
with me and this is 100% a challenge
from the
because nobody in the world does
anything to you unless Hashem allows
that.
So who really did it to you?
If you think that anyone can do
something to you, hurt you, steal from
you, take your money, anything
without Hashem's permission,
then you are basically saying that
Hashem has no control over the world and
you are a heretic.
So if somebody comes and curses you,
steals from you, embezzles you, cheats
on you, it doesn't matter what that
person did, yes, he has free choice to
do it. But he was appointed a messenger
by Hashem. Hashem finds the best
messenger.
And Hashem is the one who appointed him,
which means Hashem is doing it to you.
And if you think that person is doing it
to you, big mistake. Huge mistake.
Because then you're trying to fix it
with that person.
He's saying you know what he did to me.
The second a person is involved a
partition needs to come down and that
person is right now the messenger of
Hashem and any anger
or any other feelings toward that person
you lost the test on the spot
right away. You lost this challenge. Now
we'll come another one bigger.
you and the point is if you want to look
at it like a video game you know how
many lives you have to lose in a video
game what do you get three lives five
lives so I don't know how many lives you
have here how many things you how many
times you can lose you know you sin too
much on something it's very hard to
repair to repair it it's very hard to to
battle it
so the next thing you need to understand
nobody does anything to you
I know many People tell me, "What are
you talking about? You know what this
person is doing to me? He's suing me and
he's taking from me and he's doing." And
I hear these stories 50 a day. My
brother took the money. He sold the
father's house and he's doing this and
he's
I'm giving you one example that I heard
recently heard of a man telling me, "My
brother took my he sold my parents house
after they died. He took the money, he
did this, he what should I do? I have
to." So I told him you you know all the
time just blaming the brother.
Everything that you're going through all
these suffering is Hashem doing to to
you. You know that.
So what would be his argument? No it's
not Hashem. He that's what he told me.
It's not Hashem it's him. I said you got
to be very careful with how you talk.
You're basically saying that he's
stronger than Hashem.
And if you understand the otherwise,
anyone who comes to do something to you
or does something to you
can only be done with the permission of
Hashem. Which means when you're upset at
that person,
why do our sages called heresy? Because
you don't believe that the kadb has
control over it.
The person does have free will.
Also had free will. Haman also had a
free will. Hitler also had free will.
But the knows which messenger to to
choose that they're like they want to do
that. That's Hashem's deal with him,
not with you. It's nothing to do with
you. When people do things to me, their
first reaction is I I know I have an
issue with the kadosh. That person,
okay, you you're exempt. I don't get
upset. Not looking for revenge.
that third party individual
just a messenger. And by the way,
whenever you don't involve that
individual, you'll already see the
challenge goes 50% less
because Hashem is testing you if you
believe in him. If you believe that he
did that or that person, but that person
stole from me. Okay, Hashem allowed it.
But that person did this and that, but
Hashem allowed it.
A person doesn't even move his finger
here in this world unless it was
announced in the world above and Hashem
approves it. Somebody comes now and
punches me in the face. Hashem punched
me in my face.
That's how I see it.
And he chose that person to be the
messenger.
So this type of challenge is the most
annoying challenge because you don't
know what Hashem is testing you. What
does he want from you?
So what do you do?
What do you do?
I'll tell you what do you do.
You exempt the person from any
responsibility.
I know you want to go and sue that
person or do other things and you find
all the loopholes in why you allowed to
do what you want to do. But that's
revenge by the way.
A prohibition from the Torah. you're not
allowed to revenge and you're not
allowed to do a different type of
revenge that it's not really a revenge
but you're saying when he will need me.
[laughter]
So you're not revenging
but you're waiting for the day that he
will need you and know you are happy
when he comes
and you like gladly say I'm not going to
help you.
Remember 32 years ago
>> [laughter]
>> You're not allowed to
you know what what it means to what
level it means that you need to humble
yourself not to do something to that
person. I had not too long ago a
situation that I had all the rights in
the worldly
morically legally
to to sue the person in any different
way.
the person was 10.1% wrong in what he
did
in any way I would look at it. If I take
it to a civil court, if I take it to a
bedin, doesn't matter what I do, my hand
is the upper hand. I demand
>> justice.
>> Justice
demands money, demands revenge, demands
to see him suffer.
Not justice. But the point was that
really
all aspects of the way morally I I I
could have and many people say should
have and [snorts] I was about to
and then very quickly and that's a
perfect example and again it's not about
showing off. I'm just about giving you
examples and proofs.
When my mind was going, my was taking my
mind. You got to sue this person because
you have to warn other people.
Forget about the $2 million of the
lawsuit.
That's not what I'm just That's not my
example. In my example,
I was thinking why do I want that person
now? What would I want for this person
to happen? And you know when you're
angry, you want the person who did
something bad to you to suffer.
You're looking for justice. But the
reality is somebody did something bad to
you. You are very unhappy. You want
Hashem to punish them or you just curse
them or whatever.
But when you get [clears throat] to this
situation,
you have to remember one thing.
A, you're not allowed to revenge and
you're not allowed to do any any type of
a sin because of that. But you need to
bring yourself to that point in that
point to understand that that's Hashem
that did that.
Now, in the situation that I had, yes,
while I was angry, it was more hurt, you
know, in my mind. Yeah, we got to do
this. is that you you you cook in your
mind all these thoughts. But very
quickly, Hashem intervened. And the
divine message that I got is if you
really want justice, if you really think
you need to teach this person a lesson
or if you really think that something
needs to be done here, then leave all
the options to Hashem. You don't
intervene because the second you
intervene, you push Hashem out. then you
need to deal with it. Now, if you are in
the level or in the in the market for
revenge, get off your high horse.
There's only one individual that allow
to revenge.
Only Hashem is allowed to bring revenge.
So, if you're already in the level that
you're saying, I want that person to
suffer.
Don't you think that Hashem's revenge
will be better than yours?
What are you going to do to that person?
Beat him up. Sue him.
Break his
mirrors of his car. What are you going
to do? You know how
sophisticated Hashem is? What Hashem is
going to do to him if he deserves it.
Now, the second that you take the law to
your hand that Hashem steps out.
So, first of all, just for your own
sake, and that's what I do. I I the
second I see a person involved then
right away I know it's very hard. It
took me many many many years to get to
that point that you have to pray for
that person not to be hurt by you and
that's why the of
which you know that I constantly push to
say it. How does it start?
Now, why are you saying that if you
don't really mean it? And I know many
people who don't say that because they
don't mean it. And they tell me, I'm not
going to say such a thing.
But what did I just say for the ones who
didn't understand? I hereby forgive any
person who did anything wrong to me, to
my body, to my money, to my soul in this
incarnation, in a previous incarnation.
And the paragraph is long and then it
ends by saying, "And no one should be
punished because of me."
Now, I'm going to say something that
sounds very
that doesn't make sense, but h go with
me and you'll understand. If you are
already looking for their revenge, if
you think that person needs to be taught
a lesson, I'm telling you that the
ultimate revenge is if you let Hashem
deal with it. That's it. Because Hashem
is much more powerful. Hashem is much
more powerful. And Hashem's message are
much more stronger than what you will
ever do. And when you think you can take
matters into your own hands, you putting
yourself in jeopardy that you are going
to start sinning out.
Who needs that?
>> [snorts]
>> It's a lesson in humility that Hashem
says, "Humble yourself. He didn't do
anything. She didn't do that to you."
And I'm telling you all day long, that's
what I hear when I deal with people. But
my wife, but she says, "And you know,
she did." And
and like this everybody.
So challenges that come to you and
there's people involved take
consideration. there's a very good
chance that it's 100% a test how you
react of course involves in it that if
you fail will be a sin and involves in
the other things but the title of the
challenge is how do you react
how do you react
that I believe is most of your
challenges
and these are the challenges that you
fail the most because you a don't
realize it's a challenge. If you would
know right now if you had that green
light blinking telling you challenge
challen challenge, then you get ready,
right? If you walk in the street and
somebody surprise you from the back and
hits you from the back, you're not ready
for that. But when somebody's in front
of you, you you at least can uh defend
yourself, move.
It's the same exact same thing here. If
you do not recognize it's a challenge,
you get the hit from the back. You
didn't know what hit. You don't know
what hit you. And when you recognize
it's a challenge, then it's in front of
you. Then if you're good, you know how
to move, you ditch it, you move, you
don't get hurt so much.
But these type of challenges, I'm
already telling you, is Hashem testing
your reaction and that's it. And when
you recognize it and when you take a
deep breath and you don't react.
How did somebody tell me the other day?
1,000 2,000 3,000. And he told me I
count. Okay, count. That's good. I also
used to do that. I would close my eyes.
I would something would come to my
direction. I would close my eyes. Not to
hear, not to see. Open the eyes. It's
still there. Close it again.
But don't forget that Hashem is
constantly testing your reactions. He
wants to see how you will react to every
situation. And I'm telling you already
you you fail miserably in most of the
challenges because you're not familiar
with that. You didn't you don't realize
that oh my god what I'm going in through
right now it's a challenge for my
reaction. Now if you react the right way
the challenge disappear.
It literally disappears. Now if you
don't react the right way then Hashem is
like a riddle. He's waiting for you to
find the right way and you're like
trying to give answers literally like a
riddle and you can't figure it out.
So, I'm going you go back to what I told
you before and start refining yourself.
And again, I'm not telling you to run to
become now the next chief rabbi of
Israel. I'm telling you refine yourself.
I'm not telling you now to become
of course the more connected you are to
Hashem, the more refined you are, the
more sensitive you'll be. And there's no
other ways to explain it.
So we have suffering from sins that we
do suffering from previous life
suffering because it's really a
challenge how do I react and that's the
majority of our suffering and the tool
to that is like I told you is in one way
to refine yourself the other way to
start working on yourself how do you
control your emotions and how do you
control your behavior what you say what
you think that I cannot explain to you
in a
Yeah, you want to go go on my website
atm.com. I have many many series of
classes
to many other classes that are serious.
You need to learn how to work on
yourself.
22 years later, I was the most impulsive
individual, impatient individual,
anything that is negative and extreme,
that's how I was. 20 years later,
there's refinement. Now, it will take
you three days to get me out of my
calmness. Once it took exactly one and a
half seconds.
So from one and a half seconds of a
reaction went into 10 second reaction a
minute reaction. Now you don't get a
reaction. That's it. 25 years of cha you
know how to look at the person and not
to get upset and to swallow your pride.
And you know I better shut up right now.
And that's most of the cases how I deal
with situations. I just don't deal with
it.
and the exact moment because when I deal
with it in the exact moment will be
anger will be emotions will be some type
of an emotion
that will go out of out of control and
if you know your weaknesses then you
don't put yourself in that type of
situation
now I want to talk about another type of
challenge that's a new type of challenge
I'm sure all of you in one way or
another see that the world is not
as it was and going to a place that is
unfamiliar.
Okay, for us Jews and many other
Gentiles, they see, okay, that's the
beginning of the messianic area.
Believe it or not, also the Muslims and
the Christians, they all believe. Each
one believes something else. Same idea.
So, with no doubt and with no question,
everybody sees, doesn't matter their
faith or where they come from,
something's changing in the world. And
we all attributed to the fact that
Mashiach is coming, the redemption is
coming. Some believe more, some believe
less, some don't believe at all.
[snorts]
Some believe that Mashiach is one thing
and other people believe that Mashiah is
a lot of confusion. And the confusion is
as as a result of the concealment of the
godly light. Ultimately, if you're
thinking about it, most people who are
spiritual in the world want the same
thing. We call it Hashem, they call it
Allah, they call it whatever. Everybody
calls it something different. But in the
essence of the soul, we're all looking
at the same thing
because also the Gentiles, they might
not have a neph
don't don't look at them as garbage
bags. It's not correct. I've heard in
many many that the rabbis are teaching
that the Gentiles are junk and they're
this and they're that. That's not the
Torah. I didn't see that in the Torah.
You know that the Torah usually tells
you one thing and it's enough, right? If
the Torah feels it and you need to hear
it twice and it will repeat itself. If
the Torah feels that you need to hear it
a few more times and it will repeat and
repeat and will repeat. Most of the
prohibitions and the mitzvah in the
Torah one time
some things for whatever reason thought
that the ten commandments has to be
repeated twice. So you have ten
commandments twice in the Torah. Twice
you have
but you know there certain things in the
Torah there's three times five times
about not mixing meat and dairy. Three
times
how many times is it talking about
observing Shabbat
>> h
>> 12 times
>> 12 times it repeats in the Torah about
guarding the Shabbat. So just goes to
show you something. So important like
Shabbat 12 times it repeats itself.
36 times in the Torah it says that we
have to treat the Gim and the Gentiles
in a respectful and honorable way.
You are also converts. We are all
converts technically if you want to. But
that's what the Torah says. Don't look
at me.
You are also foreigners in mit. You are
also from a different nation. When gave
us the Torah, that's when we became the
nation of Israel.
So that's saying that as a side a side
note, but let's go back to what I was
saying.
There's no doubt
that right now that world is taking into
a shift. Everybody sees that and not
everybody understands what they see. The
kadoshu is preparing the world for the
redemption. Slowly by slowly, bit by
bit, step by step, kadosh has a plan and
he's doing his plan. Like a professional
check player, he moves this. Now he
waits, then he moves that
is moving the pawns on the board and
very soon will be the checkmate. just we
don't understand what's going on because
everything in the world is like
changing
now. Some people call it okay it's the
the the president it's the war in Israel
it's the this it's it's not anything
in order to prepare the world he's a
little bit uh shaking it.
So now what we're going to experience is
a new type of suffering.
Brand new type of suffering that we
didn't experience for many many many
many years.
I recently ran across an interesting
concept that the Ramach teaches. The
Ramach is Rabim Deo. He's the teacher of
the a great cabalist.
And he says something very interesting.
First in the same he says that before
Mashiach is going to come most
will be most of the people in the world
will be that to that extreme
he even says I'm just quoting him don't
look at me and be angry at me he says
half the nation of Israel will be
then he says that of course will be a
lot of challenges and a lot of tests and
a lot of hardship and
Why?
To clean. Hashem wants to clean our
souls from so many years of suffering.
So we will be merit to see the coming of
Mashiach
saying in other words
says spiritually you are so dirty that
if Mashiach will come today you wouldn't
be able to stand and see him.
>> Would you like that?
>> Would you? No.
>> So, Hashem says, "You are not cleaning
yourself or you don't have the time or
the ability. I have to clean you."
Let me explain. It says in the Mishna,
"If a person
uh transgresses
a negative mitzvah,
not to mix wool and linen." Okay, this
is a negative mitzvah, a percept from
the Torah. When was the last time you
checked your jacket for wool and linen?
Never.
Women, when did you check last time? You
know that hugs are mixed with wool and
linen. The shutness in hugs.
>> Hugs. That's what they call not hugs.
What? The Australian. What?
>> Hugs.
>> What did I say? Hugs.
>> Same thing. No.
Same $400 boots.
Okay. So agg
check the shaness or don't bite
>> and you're not allowed to mix wool and
linen. This is called sha. This is a
precept. So if a person fails in a
precept, he has to do chuva. The Torah
says his chuva
puts the sin on hold. Nothing happens.
No judgment or nothing.
out comes yip,
you empty the trash, delete it.
But that's for the little sins that
don't not heavy heavy sins. If it's a
positive mitzvah that you didn't do, you
didn't say, you didn't put filling, you
didn't say
it's a positive. Now, how do you pay
this back? Then first of all the Mishna
says
you do chuva and you're saying I'm not
moving till you forgive me and Hashem
forgives you because you did chuva.
How would you gain back what you missed?
That's a whole different thing. You miss
one day of your life fillin you can
never pay it back ever. I don't care who
you are. Even if for the rest of your
life you wear three pairs of fill in one
day of your life you missed fill in. No
way of bringing it back. You cannot
reverse the day and on the calendar in
Shamay there's one hole
you miss.
How do you fix something like that? Then
you need to now balance it out calls it
to Mishkal
that if on this mishkal means scale if
this size is heavy then I have to put
more weight here to bring it down. So if
I missed one date fill in, then I have
to put on the scale other fill in that
will be in the same value of me putting
fill in. So I will go out to the street
and put on you fill in and you and you
and you and you and maybe 10 men that I
put fill in on them maybe will balance
the time one time that I didn't. The
reality it's not going to balance. You
need to be more in a level that you help
an individual. You inspire an individual
to put fill in. Then you help him
financially to buy that fill in. And
that man puts fill in for the rest of
their life. And every day that he puts
fill in, you get one little ounce on
that scale that eventually after a long
time it will pull down.
This is called
that's what
is explained. You need to do the
counteractive many times.
But let's go back to the Mishna that
says that and it says if a person did a
sin which falls under the category of
death by the heavenly court or the soul
gets chopped off desecrating Shabbat
eating ones eating on eating from the
sacrifice in the holy temple doing a
seance many other things 36
34 are negative and precepts two are
positive most of The is the forbidden
relations that take most of the 32
because every every type of incest is a
different type of ket. So most of the is
incest and forbidden relations but many
of them are things that relate to us and
one of them is and and eating on and
we all failed in that. So we have
when a and death by the heavenly court
many other things.
So if a person has a
if and he does and he does
so it says the chuva puts the sin on
hold
puts the sin on hold. What does it mean
puts the sin on hold? They're not going
to do anything to you cuz you did chuva.
And then it says
and then hardship and suffering will
wash off all the damage. You desecrated
Shabbat for 20 years. You did hundreds
and hundreds of will take a lot of
suffering to take it off.
Add on that all the add on that all the
add on that all many other things. Stop
complaining.
Be thankful is cleaning you.
saying based on this Mishna,
the Raak says the exact same thing.
Before Mashiach is going to come, we are
all so spiritually dirty
from our sins
because we lie and we cheat and we steal
and we do so many horrible things. And
I'm not talking about right now somebody
who's completely secular. That's that's
a whole different thing because the in
many of the cases the secular doesn't
know. He doesn't
So I'm talking about you know you're
here you know and don't not that I'm
saying that the secular individual
doesn't won't get punished or won't get
judged but every person is judged in a
completely different way. The reality is
what says that before Mashia is going to
come, we are all going to be faced with
horrible challenges
only to clean our nish from the dirt.
And why? So you will have this you have
the merit to be alive when Mashiah
comes.
Amen.
>> Now,
first of all, it's very important to
remember
a lot of people say specifically
different rabbis and I don't agree with
that and I don't like that they come
they give false hope to people by saying
don't worry
everything will be okay.
When you really think there's going to
be a holocaust,
you're fine. Everything is great.
Just sign here the check made out to
the reality is of course we want to
believe that Hashem is going to be with
us come through with great miracles. We
pray for mercy and many of the times
Hashem is making the situation hard only
for us to wake up so we can pray for his
help and salvation. That's what Hashem
wants.
But this is not the case. The case right
now is that each and every one of us in
his or her way and I'm not excluding
myself
whether it's from sins from the past
whether it's sins from previous life
whether it's sins from now whether it's
from whatever activities that you do is
telling you straight out you have a few
mitzvot you have a few merits but not
enough to take you through the gula you
can't go through the redemption with
what you have.
So, I need to clean you. How am I going
to clean you? You're going to suffer and
you're going to suffer a lot. And you're
going to suffer till you can't handle
it. And you're going to suffer so much
that maybe you'll start doing chuva. But
you're not going to start doing chuva.
So, you'll suffer more and more because
you don't know how to clean yourself.
Then I'll clean you. That's it.
So right now every person in this world
the the challenges increased
everybody
one out of three million
the things are kind of okay
on the surface because he doesn't have
the challenges of others and I'll give
you an example if a person now is rich
healthy
has a good family, okay, nice wife, nice
kids, lives in a nice house,
etc., etc. He doesn't have most of the
challenges that most people have because
most people have challenges with money,
challenges with relationships,
challenges with their kids. So, here's
an individual that on the surface seems
seems
doesn't have challenges.
Everybody has challenges. Everybody has
tests and everybody's suffering in their
weak point. And it doesn't matter how
much money you have or who you are.
Money doesn't make you suffer less. Most
of the cases, money makes you suffer
more.
All day long you're worried.
You know what a test it is to have
money. It's one of the hardest tests a
person could be put with. When you have
money, you become arrogant.
You become a showoff. You think you own
the world and many other things.
The point is said it doesn't matter the
challenge right now.
It's not that your challenge is worse
than the other. I know the green is
always the grass is always greener by
the neighbor. You always look at the
other individual and you say I wish I
had his life.
What we need to understand is that the
majority of what you're dealing with re
with right now
is not your sins and not Hashem testing
to see your reactions. It's Hashem
saying that we're running out of time.
You will not be able to do enough chuva
till mashia comes. Let me hasten to you
hasten it to you.
You know how in the airports you have
these uh
moving floors? How do you call it?
No, not the
>> conveyor
>> like a conveyor belt, but it's I don't
know if it's I don't know if it's called
a conveyor belt. Whatever. The floor is
moving. Okay. And and and so you walking
on it, but it's like a little a few
steps before you. That's what Hashem is
doing. He says, "You continue doing your
thing. Can try to do chuva. focus on
your spiritual growth, but I'm going to
underneath your feet move the whole
world
because you won't make it to the gula
with your level of chuva. That's what
Hashem is saying.
And if a person is really in the program
of chuva, then they don't there's not
much challenges. There is challenges but
not in the same level because our sages
say if you want to remove from yourself
suffering
then suffer on the Torah.
In Hebrew it sounds different because in
Hebrew it says
I don't know how you say that in
English. Suffer yourself by the Torah.
It's basically saying make the Torah the
the the the weight and the yoke that
you're carrying. If you're carrying the
yoke of the Torah, you're not going to
be dealing with financial yoke or with
raising your kids yoke
or challenge or cuz you're carrying the
yoke of the Torah. Carry the Torah on
your back. Hashem is going to take all
the rest of the challenges from you.
That's what our sages say.
But now we are in a challenge that I'm
telling you that most people cannot
move it away from them. That's the one
that I just told you. Hashem wants to
prepare everybody for their redemption.
And by the way, in the same
scary
cuz he says before the coming of
Mashiach, many will die. Many will
suffer, but many will die and many will
get wounded.
And when he explains the dying and the
wounded, he says anyone that will die,
that's their tikun.
And anyone who gets wounded, that's
their tikun.
Which means that anyone who dies now as
a result from the birth pains of mashia,
that's their tikun.
So they reach to a they didn't see the
coming of Mashiach
that
be resurrected in the coming of
Mashiach.
And that's why I told you before I don't
like the approach of people saying
everybody will be in the redemption. Not
everybody because yesterday
thousand people died and the day before
a thousand people died and tomorrow
thousand people died and the next day.
So who's all of them are making it to
the redemption?
Alfki made it to the redemption.
No,
of these giants. What? They don't
deserve to see the redemption.
So why you telling me everybody will
make it to the gula? These are great
rabbis. How did they not wake make it to
the gula? Obviously, the statement is
false by saying everybody will be
redeemed. Not everybody.
>> Would they be resurrected?
>> That's where it's talking about. Thank
you. You jump the gun. You
said it a minute before I was about to
say what it's referring to is.
But then there's a problem. Some people
won't wake up in
you got to be very careful.
There are some opinions that will tell
you whoever speaks won't wake up in that
means that when Mashia comes, we're
going to be 700 people.
>> [snorts]
>> So I wanted to say that that's when it
says everybody will be included in the
redemption. It's referring to
don't you want to see the show? You know
how the show is going to look? You know
you don't.
That's what our sages say. What you saw,
the wonders that you saw going out of
Mit,
that's nothing. What I'm going to do now
in this generation when Mashiach comes,
what we saw in Mitim, we didn't even see
it. But what they saw or any miracle
that ever happened in the past is
nothing compared to what we going to see
when Msiah is going to come.
And I told you that not once and not
twice. Most people won't be able to
sustain what what they see. They'll just
faint or die.
Just imagine, just try to internalize
you standing on the on the sea and the
sea opens. How would you react when you
would see such a thing?
How? Just think for one second. How
would I react if I'm the one one of the
Israel who's standing on the water and
suddenly the water starts sanding and
what is going on?
Meditate on that and you'll understand.
Wait a minute. When Hashem is going to
decide to start the show, what are we
going to see?
The miracles that we're going to see are
going to be much greater than mit
and many won't be able to sustain. We're
no one going to be able to handle it.
Only the Torah and the mitzvah. So right
now, Hashem is telling you the talk
clock is ticking. Mashiach can come any
second.
It can come also in half a year, in a
year, five years. Personally, I if you
remember, I gave a very long class two
kanukas ago where I compared
what it says in the Talmud in San the
seven years preceding to the coming of
Mashiach,
one year after the other. And then we
compared it to the United Nations agenda
2030 and it's
perfectly even.
So what do you take from that? We just
finished two years ago a sabbatical
cycle. So 2029
2030 it's the next sabbatical cycle.
That's if if we don't get our act
together and hasten it probably that's
when it will be a right time to come.
Can you survive now another four years
with what's going to happen here? We
don't we we didn't even this is just the
cranking of the engine. It's not even
the running of the engine. This is just
so now we're introduced to a brand new
type of
that are which is hardship and suffering
that are going to come to us as love of
the
now if you go back to the what I started
telling you before that it says that if
come on a person
look in your actions maybe you did
something take responsibility
you could not find any connection to
what you did
then there's a very good chance that you
have
to and it goes through a section if not
this then this and at the end what does
it say if you could not find any of the
above then these are
then these are suffering of love the
Hashem loves you so much that he's
making you suffer because you have to
Understand that for every bad decision
you make a sin and an act like that you
bring spiritual blemishes on your on
your on your spiritual garments
not easy to remove it. Yumipur doesn't
remove all these blemishes
strong chuva hard chuva and a lot of
suffering. Now if hashem sees a huge
stain on yama that he says that will
take him five years to clean this. You
know how much he needs to read? You know
how many filot he needs to do? That's a
lot of people what they don't
understand. They pray for 20 years
and it becomes regular and they don't
realize that in order to fix a certain
blemish on the sh they need four years
of three every day
and after 3 years of every day praying
three times a day in a minan a certain
stain is removed from one of the sins.
Imagine now you'll get a spiritual X-ray
that shows you your entire Shama where
are the blemishes
and why why the blemish here are the
blemishes because every time you do a
sin every sin is connected to an organ
in the body 613 mitzvot 248 positive
corresponding to 248 limbs 365 precepts
corresponding to 365 tendons which means
that every precept or mitzvah that I do
or don't it affects a certain part in
the body
like meridians 100% exactly I told you
already many times that I tried I'm
still trying to compile a book of every
sin or mitzvah which organ is affecting
and how
talks about it a lot you can find in his
but we don't have the entire thing but
if I for example do not put fillain on
the meridian of fillain will start
suffering.
I know most of you think it's the the
hand doesn't mean that the spiritual
meridian of the fillin is the hand but
many great people can see the spirit the
physical problem and they tell you this
is a mitzvah that you're doing wrong.
A few years ago and I'm not claiming or
saying other I do that but a few years
ago my mom I talked to her and she I
told her what did you do? She told me I
went to a doctor. Why? What's going on?
Ah, for months my hand is hurting me. My
wrist is hurting me. And I went to this
doctor and they did MRI and they did the
CT and they did this and and I said no
and what's the what did they find?
Nothing, right? Yeah. Yeah. They don't
know what it is. So says, why don't you
come to me before you before you went to
all these doctors? She [snorts] was
like, what would you say? So I would
tell you the spiritual problem now. Not
the numsome
hoo-ha. It's just putting two dots
together. Your wrists hurt you. So you
obviously you doing something with the
wrists. I suggest that when you wake up
in the morning and every time you go out
of the bathroom, you wash your hand
three times with a cup. You're doing it
till your dime and make sure that once a
day you give charity. And she's like,
"Oh, I give a lot of charity." I said,
"Listen till the end with coins and you
go like this in a box." Sure enough, few
weeks later, how do you feel, Mom?
Feeling great. No more pain. That's it.
Sometimes the external effect is because
something that you're not doing as a
mitzvah or you're doing something that
you're not supposed to do. Hashem should
help me that one day I will find all the
sources and to compile a book that we
will have this mitzvah corresponds to
this organ. This a corresponds to that
tendon.
But we don't know it all. But it's
that's how it works.
Going back to what we were saying.
Right now we are facing a whole new era
of challenges of tests of suffering.
Suffering that we weren't so familiar
with. Suffering that throughout the
entire years weren't so common. Not
talking about now terror attacks. And
I'm not talking about anti-semitism or
wars that we always had.
But right now the is going to put
pressure on the entire world.
Doesn't matter who you are, doesn't
matter where you live, doesn't matter
how nice you are.
Everybody's going to be subject to this
suffering. And it's only
for you to be cleansed from Mashiach.
So how do you deal with such a
challenge? Now what do you do right now?
Now you just everything that comes to
your direction, you're just saying
great, I'm waiting for Mashiach.
First of all, no. For every situation in
your life, you still have to do an
effort. You still have to do you need to
tr to do the minimum of the minimum to
deal with the situation. But it's mainly
a a a voda a effort in your mind is to
understand that's Hashem's way of
cleaning me. That's Hashem's way of
cleansing me.
With the second that you put all the
responsibility to Hashem, then the pain
goes much much less.
Just think about it as going to the
dentist. Besides the dentist that makes
a lot of money, nobody likes going to
the dentist.
I don't know anyone who likes going to
the dentist. The the dentists like going
cuz every time you open the mouth, he's
like, "Woo,
new BMW."
and should have you want to be a
dentist. Go ahead. But nobody here likes
to go to the No one likes to go to the
dentist. But why do you go? Cuz they
have a lot of pain. I said I need more
pain to remove the first pain,
right? So you need more pain to fix the
initial pain.
Now you can understand what I just told
you for two hours.
Sometimes you need more pain to fix the
initial problem that causes pain.
So the only advice I can give you
besides strengthening you getting closer
to Hashem, learning more to giving more
Shabbat is more has to be more special
everything you have to constantly grow.
Now is the time. If you didn't figure
out yet that if you're not going to do
chuva 100% that's not going to work well
with Hashem, why do you think Hashem is
going to bring Mashiach to a bunch of
secular world?
No.
So now is the time where Hashem says
go back.
Hashem warned the generation of Noah 120
years. Nothing happened.
And even Noah Rashi says was he didn't
believe that there's going to be a
flood. He built the ark.
But he didn't go into the ark till the
water came up to his knees. He himself
didn't believe that there's going to be
a flood.
So also Hashem is now giving us another
sign and another sign and another sign.
You don't need more signs. You don't
need another three-hour video online me
with sources. And we don't need more
signs. We already have the signs. Now we
need actions.
It doesn't matter if I find another
prophecy or another piece in the Zor
that corresponds to what's going on
right now in this world. It's
interesting. No doubt. No doubt. In
every book that I read, I constantly
look for something that is hinting on
the the time that we're in.
But that's not the point. The point to
understand is that right now is telling
us in other words if you didn't get it
then start getting it and now the ground
is going to start going faster than what
you can walk
and that's why people can't handle most
of what's going on in their life and the
answer to that is only to get closer to
Hashem to do cha there's no other way
and every person in their level so you
are fully observant so you need to
fine-tune it you are completely not
observant then start keeping some of
them it you have to understand that when
a person does cha Hashem puts him in
some type of a buffer zone
when I became observant I declared to
Hashem I cannot observe Shabbat it will
take me a few years and it will take me
time to start doing this and that and
and sure that's what it took but the
second the saw my intention
saw what's going to happen So he puts
all my chuva on hold means no judgment.
You're not getting punished now. You're
not being judged. Giving you the time to
do chuva.
Now Hashem is fast forwarding
fastforwarding
the coming of Msiah.
I'm sure all of you experience the same
thing that I experience. You do have on
Shabbat. The candle still stinks from
the burning fire.
And you're already cooking for Friday,
right?
>> Tomorrow is Shabbat.
I still smell the the I still have the
the drips here from the from
>> the time is like that. I haven't seen
anything like that.
You you it's it's already Friday.
It's already avo.
That's Hashem pulling the floor under
our ground and we are busy with junk and
nonsense and Instagram and Tik Tok and
she said and he said and he took and he
and our time frame went shorter.
Everything went shorter and you have
time to deal with all this nonsense.
You know how many times myself in the
last few months got caught in some
situation that requires for me to do
certain things and I just thinking I was
like I don't have time for this
I cannot do
now if you're busy with good things then
all the junk around you you don't have
time to that that's how you
basically keep your head up that you're
not going to drown in your misery
so there's nothing wrong with you. Don't
listen to anyone who comes and tells you
you are the problem and you need to do
this and that and Hashem is punishing
you. It's not you what's going on right
now in the world. It's everybody.
It's accumulation of all of our behavior
but simultaneously alongside it's also
the preparing the world. Now when you
see a person that the suffering is not
that much you can know that person did
very good chuva that person is in a very
high level that there's not much sins if
any did already the tikun
and he's waiting for the redemption
just grabbing another mitzvah grabbing
another and helping him and helping him
that's what you need to reach and just
you know
life is going to become a little bit
harder everything is going to become a a
little bit harder. But I'm going to
answer the question that probably many
have cuz a lot of people say, "Okay, I
believe Mashiah is coming. I see what
Hashem does. Should I just go and learn
Torah all day long or should I keep my
business and should what should I do?"
Then you take the advice of my
world stays the same, but you have to be
the Torah observant Jew. How the world
is right now? If you have the ability to
move somewhere
because you are retired or you have
money or you don't have responsibilities
that's one out of a hundred or one out
of a thousand and there are people like
that. There are people like that. I see
them every day. They move to fat is very
cheap to live in. They live inat for
nothing. $1,000 a month you live like
like very comfortable. and they just
learn to roll along. No
responsibilities, no job, no nothing.
There I'm waiting for the for mia. 90%
of is like that. That's why everybody's
so poor there.
No, seriously, it's a very poor town cuz
people there don't care about money.
They just care learning Torah all day
long. All day long. Waiting for the
redemption. Now, the reality, not
everybody should do it or can do it. We
have to be regular people. What does it
mean regular people? You have a job, you
have family, you're going to have
tuition for the next three years to pay.
Why are you thinking now of changing
something? Nothing's going to change
yet. Now we have to be in the world and
the challenges that Hashem is sending us
is in the world. Financial, health,
relationships and many others.
So now that we cut got a little bit
familiar and it's a little bit but we
have some type of an idea
when I say Hashem loves us and then we
add so why do we suffer then take the
last fourth example that I tell you yeah
he loves us he loves us so much that
he's willing to make us suffer so we can
make it to the gula
so ultimately it's the love of Hashem
But we need to understand that this is
the point in the world right now. This
is the point in the world that is
compared to the birth of a child. First
9 months the or I'll explain it even
more. First trimester, okay, the mother
is don't feel that great. Maybe throwing
up or something. Okay, a little bit
bumpy. Usually second trimester,
everything's fine. Third trimester
starts becoming a little bit uh it's
good. No, no sicknesses and it's a
little bit uncomfortable. But once the
woman is in the nine months, that's it.
It's not comfortable anymore. You can't
sit, you can't sleep, you can this, you
can carry, you can't see your toes.
But once the labor starts, then the pain
comes with and it starts with a
contraction and 20 minutes later another
contraction. And then the contractions
become closer to each other and stronger
and it gets to a point that the
contractions are seconds away from each
other and they're extremely strong
and not that I was once on the in that
situation that I telling you my
experience
but I have seven kids so I'm very
observant when I see my wife in agony
and I'm like
Shalani sh.
But with all jokes aside, I saw with my
own eyes my wife giving birth to seven
kids. I saw the pain.
And my wife says, "Every time we had a
child, she told me, I failed that I did
a tikun for the entire world."
And really when a woman gives birth the
pain that she goes through she does a
tikun for the entire world. First of all
she brought that problem. So don't say
okay
but nevertheless
it's unbelievable pain but it brings a
great tikun the birth of the coming of
Mashia. That's what's going to happen.
So what we experiencing now that's the
contractions. How I see it, Corona was
the water breaking.
There's no turning back. Once the water
breaks, there's no turning back.
>> No, no, no, no, no, no.
>> But going back to my example, I believe
that's how I see it. The corona was the
water the water breaking. You can't go
back and from that starts the the real
birth. That that's where the birth
starts. Of course, today uh doctors
right away cesarian educe not good. Oh,
relax.
But nevertheless, once the water breaks,
there's no turning back. Corona was the
breaking of the water. And after corona
came a little contraction.
45 innocent men were killed in Meon.
Nobody understood why. young young bore
all angel you see in their faces sadikim
one by one
that was the first hiccup and then
started more contraction and more and
then October 7 that's a big contraction
now the contraction is like with a woman
will go closer to each other and
stronger
so you just need to be prepared
there's going to be more contractions
and more pain and more suffering all
good for us all part of the love of
Hashem.
I want to be part of the redemption. So
all it needs to all you need to do is
just think I'm going now to the dentist.
I have a lot of pain prior.
Then I need that initial pain to fix the
first pain.
That's it. And when you understand that
that's the love of Hashem. And when you
understand that it's good for you, you
just need to put in your mind that okay
what do is required for me to believe
that Hashem is the one who's doing the
test not to be judgmental towards
anybody else and not to be angry towards
Hashem [snorts]
not to lose hope or to lose my
excitement for and to continue business
as usual. Once you do that the kadoshu
removes the the challenge or it makes
the challenge like this. When you are
struggling with the challenge then the
koshu moves aside and he says okay let's
see what you do you can't handle the
challenge you need to put hashem you're
saying hashem that's you I need to do
myoot
but hashem will solve the problem and
the pain in between you just have to
bite it that's it we have to bite the
pain
another contraction another contraction
it's almost over that's
What we need to remember is after the
contractions and the pain of the woman
who's giving birth, after that ends
comes a new baby, a new life, new light
to the family.
So, Mashiach is coming. And I know it's
very hard for most people to perceive it
in their mind. And I do believe firmly
that the minority of people really
believe and picture them living in the
time of Msiah. Most people don't relate
with that. They can't relate with that
how the world is going to change. And
that's why they either do not want to be
close to Hashem or they don't want to
cater the idea because they're not ready
to it for it. They don't know how to
digest this. And nobody wants change.
I'm comfortable right now in this stinky
situation. I don't want to change
anything. But the reality is that we are
sitting in our dirty diaper for already
a few years. We don't even realizing how
much it stinks.
And the kados says, "I need to clean
them. It's going to hurt.
It's going to hurt." Because listen, the
vision that I have in my mind now, it's
not a nice vision. But
my wife brings the kids to the world. I
clean their toes. So I have a lot of
experience with
changing diapers and dealing with the
what's in the diaper.
But I noticed something. I know it's
disgusting. I'm asking you for your
forgiveness. But when a child when a
baby's with the diaper for too long,
it's stuck already to the you need to
wash it and scrub it. And I know, but
I'm trying to make a point cuz we are in
dirty diapers from all the junk that we
do. And the says
So the cleaning hurts.
So stop complaining
or clean yourself.
Clean yourself. Dive into the Torah. Let
the Torah be your suffering. Cuz to wake
up at 4:00 in the morning to most people
is suffering. It's not easy to wake up
in the morning, 4:00 in the morning, and
you rip yourself out of bed and you're
tired and it's freezing and your eyes
are like that and you're and you still
get up to go to pray with that pain that
you just put yourself through, you
removed a 100 tons of suffering from
many other thing.
And then you can go uh like uh
How do you say uh
one minute walk to the fancy mikvet that
is all heated or you can walk a 15minute
walk to the freezing cold mikvah that is
not as nice but you walk to the mikvah
cuz you want that freezing one and you
want
so you put yourself through suffering of
the Torah then you remove all the
suffering that the kadu has planned for
Not my advice. Our sages say that. So
when you suffer and when you toil on the
Torah,
half an hour of toiling in the Torah
suffering,
then you remove yourself months of
suffering in this world. [snorts]
It doesn't matter in what department. If
Hashem already Hashem already in decides
what you're going to suffer,
who's going to live? Who's going to die?
Mir, who's going to become rich? going
to be poor. Everything is decided on
Shah
also how much isim you're going to have
this year is decided on and what will be
theim
everything is decided you already know
how much is you're going to have for the
rest of the year and what you going to
be but you can accept on yourself newim
new hardship and then it take takes it
off from the debt what it's in the list
so
the point we want to take from tonight
is a few things. A, Hashem still loves
us. The title doesn't change. I also
love my kids. And you know how I express
my love to my kids? I educate them. I'm
firm with them. When I need to be
friendly, I'm friendly. When I need to
be strong, then I'm strong. There's no
And when my kids are not happy with my
way of educating them because I scream,
I take, I punish, doesn't matter what. I
don't care if you're unhappy right now
and if you don't like me tonight.
My job is to educate you. My job is not
to spoil you. I don't need my There's no
definition anywhere that I need to do
something that my child should love me.
That's bad parenting.
The child would love you if you give him
real love. Not if you buy him a bunch of
stuff and you give him three iPads and
you let him do whatever he wants. So
kids don't like when you're strong with
him. When I grew up, I hated how my
father raised me. He was like like a
like a general. I didn't like it at all.
He was real tough father.
Now looking back, thank God that he did
that. I would be end up I don't want to
say not nice things, but I see a lot of
people from my age cuz I grew up in a
very very rich area. My father was
always doing well. So I grew up in a
rich area where all the kids around me
had sports cars. And my I wanted the
sports car. You know what my father told
me? Go and work.
But you have money. I'll buy myself what
I want. You want you go and work. Now a
17-year-old doesn't like to hear that.
But when your father makes you work when
you're 14 and you get real good work
ethics. So when you're 50 and you're
doing well financially, you thank your
father for giving you these ethics and
not to be some mirror and taking money
from the entire world. So I didn't like
how my father educated me with when I
was a kid, but he gave me values and me
don't and and many other things that now
I look back. So I do the same thing with
my kids. I'm not running here a
popularity test. I don't need you to
lie. You don't want to like me. My kid
don't like me. Comes the age of 18, I
I'm done my with educating now. I now
I'll be your friend.
But my purpose is to give you the tools.
Hashem is doing the exact same thing.
Hashem doesn't want to just do it for
you. Hashem says you need to do it.
So the exciting news here is that
Mashiach is coming. I know many people
hard for them to believe. I know it
might take a few more weeks or months or
maybe years, but we're already in the
delivery process.
>> It cannot be reversed. Well, you can
sweeten the delivery. Now, I and many
others, I don't think a woman needs to
take the pain killer, the epidural.
Listen, I'm not a woman. I I think I
think I think many women were just I saw
my wife my wife been most of her labors
she did it natural but and you know the
only time that she went to give birth in
a hospital when was the option of
epidural then she took it and suffered
from that half a year from the junk that
they give you to paralyze your the the
the spine. But the point is that
[snorts]
the child birth is painful in one way
but nevertheless it's new life. So we're
in a such a special place before Msiah
is coming. Yeah. Okay. So the world is a
little bit bumpy. Yeah. Yeah. It's going
to become much more bumpy. Don't think
that it's going to become better.
Somebody comes and tells you don't
worry, Hashem loves us. The redemption
is going to come.
Don't worry. Didn't you see the eagles
over there waiting and warming up their
their their wings? And
have you ever seen in the last 4,000
5,000 years of the existence of this
world any redemption that came nice?
Any?
No.
We can bring in the redemption. and a
lot of a lot of it will still happen but
with much more mercy.
So what I want you to do tonight is one
very simple thing
if you walk out of the door without the
right tools. So I failed to give you the
tools you failed to take. If I gave you
nothing happened tonight we didn't do
nothing.
The point is, as I say always as a
broken record, what do you do when you
go out of the room?
So, a I gave you a few options of why
suffering are coming whether it's sins
that you're doing now, sins from
previous life. So, start controlling
that.
How do you recognize where the sin is
coming from? I told you you need to
refine yourself. The great way way of
refining is learning Torah, doing
mitzvot, but one needs to refine
themselves in their characteristics,
their midot,
refine their their gates, guard their
gates. All these little things, they
make a huge difference.
Then we were looking at another type of
suffering that Hashem is testing us. You
have to have this constantly in your
mind because every second of the day, if
I would tell you how many challenges I
have a day, you wouldn't even believe. I
need four hands just to hold all the
phones and I need to make the phone
calls all day long. It's unbelievable.
When Hashem wants to give you a
challenge, he drives you nuts.
I understand you have great challenges
like mine when you appreciate what I'm
saying.
But the reality is
it's going to become worse. It's going
to become stronger. We need the right
tools.
And the ultimate tool that I need to
understand
that all this is coming from Hashem.
It's not coming from anyone. Not from
people, not from governments, not from
officials, not from my neighbor. Nobody
is doing anything to me.
The trick to understand here is to and
to to not only to understand the trick
to to to save yourself from all this is
to understand that the koshu is the one
who's doing that. And when you
understand what Hashem is doing, then
you accept the pain.
You don't like the pain, but you accept
it and you suffer the pain.
Many many years ago, I took my one of my
kids to the dentist. He had pain in his
teeth and we had to take him to the
dentist. He was young, 3 years old, four
years old. Now he's 13 years old.
So, we went to the dentist. I sat down
on the
chair and I held him on me cuz he was
afraid. He he didn't want to sit. Now
just imagine now this poor
three-year-old going to the dentist.
He's already in pain. Now this weird
looking guy with a mask and a and
glasses and like a a light coming out
from his the it looks like I don't know
what. And then a light from here. And
then another scary woman with a
and worse than all that, his own father
brought him to the slaughter house and
holding him not to move.
So he goes through the medical
procedure. He goes out of there hating
the doctor, afraiding afraid from him
and hating me.
You're the worst father in the world.
I just took you to the person who
saved your pain and I'm being judged as
the first worst father in the world.
Okay. Two hours later he got ice cream.
I was already the best father in the
world.
And now he doesn't remember that day.
But the example here is that I have pain
because of my stupidity.
A child eats candy, lollies, whatever.
That's his stupidity. So then he gets
the the cavities and he has pain.
Me, I just sin. I just follow my eyes. I
follow my heart. I I am weak to every
temptation. I'm not willing to put any
stop to any desire that I have. Not
willing to put a little bit of an effort
to anything in my life like a little
kid. And then I suffer and I I have
pain. The bank is going, the credit card
is not working, this deal didn't work,
she dumped me.
So comes the father, the loving father
holds you tight and now you get more
pain
and you perceive it. That's I don't like
this.
But that's that's what happens.
Understand that it's happening from
Hashem. Hashem wants to humble you. Ham
wants to fix what you are wrong with. We
all need to be humbled. So he breaks us.
But if he needs to fix you something,
then he will treat you in a certain way
that you are experiencing. And if you're
smart, then Hashem, you let Hashem fix
you.
So ultimately, if I need to summarize
this entire sh suffering is good,
right?
It is the love of Hashem. It is good for
me. Do I want it? No.
I want the love of Hashem in a different
way. So that it has to do with me. So
you have two options today to take. I'm
offering you two products today. Product
number one, bite the pain, suffer the
pain, accept it, let Hashem do his job,
accept it with love, and continue your
life like as if nothing happened. And
you'll see that 90% of your challenges
become this big.
Not always. And listen, I'm making it
sound nice. But when you have a
challenge, doesn't matter right now what
sometimes when it reduces from this to
this makes a big difference. Product
number two is saying I agree with what
you're saying. I want to save the
suffering.
Hashem tells you, you don't have to pay
my price. you show me that you're taking
it on yourself then you don't have to
pay anything. The question is if you're
willing to take it on yourself that
means that you need to be a very very
very dedicated Torah observant
individual and not to complain and to
take consideration that you also have
debt from the past and to just take it
as it is but to know that I want to cash
my suffering instead of what Hashem has
in mind. I will decide on myself what
will be the suffering.
That's it. I like sleeping. Instead of
sleeping 8 hours, I'm going to sleep 6
hours so I can wake up and learn two
hours of Torah.
Here I just gave you a perfect example.
You know the first 10 years of my
marriage, I didn't even sleep. I love
sleeping. Oh, I how much I love
sleeping. I'm like a polar bear when it
comes to sleeping. If you don't touch
touch, I will sleep for for days.
I go up somewhere at night. I don't even
know where I go. I don't want to come
back.
You know, the last six weeks I had to
prepare this tour. I'm on a huge tour.
Two months I'm going to be in the United
States
from tonight. In a few hours, I'm flying
to Los Angeles.
Few hours, not a few minutes or day. A
few hours.
Los Angeles two weeks, then I'm going to
be in the in the Southwest,
Texas, Arizona. I'm going through the
United States.
It's there is a hint here if somebody is
trying to figure it out. But
why am I saying that? Because for two
months, I slept maybe an hour a night
because there's so much to do. One
morning I was up all night, finished the
night, went to pray, came back, and then
I told my wife, I need I'm going to
sleep for like an hour or two. I need
you to wake me up. I need I have a lot
of things to do. She didn't wake me up.
So I end up sleeping I don't know, like
1:00 in the afternoon. Went to sleep
like at 9:00 and but I needed to wake up
in an hour or two. I told her, "Why
didn't you wake me up?" She was like,
"You slept so peaceful. I I didn't have
the heart to wake you up." [laughter]
She was like, "You smile when you
sleep." You're like,
>> I told her, "Take a picture once. I want
to see how I look when I sleep." She's
like, "You're you're like I don't know
where you are when you go to sleep. You
smile. You sleep like you're in heaven."
And I tell that's probably where I go.
And I'm so the body's smiling. So why am
I saying that? I love sleeping. And I
can find all the excuses why I can sleep
a lot of hours,
right? Just go to Rambam. He tells you
you need to sleep eight hours a day.
Thank you.
Raam said I have to sleep.
Please do not disturb.
But when you love something so much and
you want to
really grab what I'm telling you. So
yes, so you take one hour less of what
you really love. You're not going to
suffer from that. Don't tell me, "No,
you need your 8 hours." Yeah, I make it
very well with 5 hours.
But I'm giving you one type of an
example. You love watching your series
on Netflix. You can't get enough of it.
You love it so much you watch three in a
row.
I know everybody's smiling because you
all do it. you I
when I grew up and there was like a
series then you had to wait a whole week
for the next episode.
Now you go into Netflix, you see the
entire thing in two hours. Just fast
forward the whole thing.
We had to wait.
So you love so much the junk that you
are on. Then take an hour from what you
really really love and apply that to
something you really don't love to learn
Torah or to go and help other people and
do some. So you're reducing from your
leisure time and you're taking on
yourself things that not necessarily you
really really like.
So these are the two products that you
can choose from. But as long as you
understand that the suffering is coming
from the master of the universe and you
know that it's good for you
then just stick it stick with it. it
will pass and bes
all the challenges will pass.
So I want to end with a quick story and
with a blessing and then with a request
and then we're going to pray and then
we're going to say nicely goodbye.
So I'm going to end with a quick story
that there was once uh a certain
individual
and that individual was really a very
very observant Jew. Did everything in
the book, never complained, did
everything Hashem wanted from him,
>> but had the worst life ever.
Never had money, was poor, his wife left
him. All his kids went against him.
Everything that you can imagine. He had
the most horrible hard tough life.
One time he's like in his 80s, sick. Oh,
bend down. He goes down to the street.
Boom. A car
runs him over. He dies.
He gets upset. He goes up to Shamim. He
comes to the gate. Sees an angel sitting
there. He's like, I I I want to see the
bus. I want to talk to.
Okay. They bring him to Hashem, comes to
Hashem. Hem tells him, "Oh, no. What's
what do you want to see me?" He's like,
"Listen, I don't understand. 82 years I
was a dedicated Jew. Never complained.
Never did the sin. Did everything the
Torah says with love. I did it with and
that's how you rewarded me. Suffering
all my life. Never had one peace, one
moment of quiet.
All the family went against me, never
had money, did he goes and complaining
and complaining.
So Hashem tells him, "What do you want
from me?
What do you want to complain? You're
coming here and complaining. What do you
want?"
So the man says, "I want an opportunity.
I want you to bring me back to this
world. I want to live a life again. I
want to have a near-death experience and
have a YouTube channel.
>> [laughter]
>> Wow.
[laughter]
34 seconds to people to Oh.
So he tells Hashem, I want a second
chance. I want you to bring me back to
this world and I want to have a a normal
life. So Hashem says, okay, your wish is
granted. But just that you know that
everybody in this world needs to have
some problems.
So you also have to go down to the world
again with problems. But this time I'll
let you choose your own problems.
Deal.
He goes out. Hashem tells him, "Go to
the end of the corridor. Turn to the
right. Second door on the left. Knock on
the door. There's an angel there. Tell
him I sent you. He'll help you." No. He
goes down. Knocks on the door. The angel
open. Hashem sent me. What do you want?
I need to look for uh to choose my own
problems. The angel takes him to this
huge warehouse. Looks like a Home Depot.
Aisles and aisles and aisles, shelves
from top to bottom. All the shelves are
packed with bags with little bags. And
the guy tells the angel, "What are all
these bags?" The angel tells him, "Every
bag is a bag of problems for one soul
somewhere in the world." He's like,
"Really?
So I can choose now my bag of problems.
Go ahead. That's what the kadesh said.
So he starts running in the aisles up
and down, in out. He's looking. He sees
bags this big, this big. He's like, I'm
I'm coming down here with like a
after hours of running up and down,
finally he sees in the corner underneath
like two bags like this little bag this
big. He grabs his bag, runs happy to the
angel, tells him this one. The angel
looks at it, scans it. You're all good
to go. Go back to Hashem. He's running
all happy, coming with his little bag to
Hashem, all excited. Hashem doesn't tell
you, "You chose a bag of problems." He
says, "This one." He says, "Why did you
choose the same bag?"
So the fact that we want to remember is
that we all have bags of baggage and
baggage and bags of problems. But it's
my problems, which means that I need to
deal with it. And I am the owner of
these problems, not you. You are not
making my life harder. Not you, not you,
not you. And definitely not my wife. I
am the responsible individual to what's
going on here. I need to take
responsibility that it's my problems and
my problems are not what you think. Your
problems are this big next to other
people's problems.
So I bless you that you'll have the
understanding and the awareness and the
tools to know that your bag is your bag.
It's a small bag. It's not as bad as you
think. And that bag of problems that
Hashem gave it to you, that is the
dentist that Hashem is trying to remove
all the pain that you create to yourself
that Hashem is coming through. And he
says, "I'll remove it for you." What
more do you want from Hashem to do for
you?
So, I'm going to bless you all to be
successful, to be happy,
>> to have peace in your heart, peace in
your body, things in your life should
work out. Whatever your heart desires,
Hashem should give it to you. In all the
chaos and the darkness and the despair
that Hashem should bless you to see the
good in everything, Hashem closes one
door in your face. He opens two doors
behind you.
Hashem turns the world around. It looks
bad because he's turning it around cuz
you're missing what you really need to
see. Hashem should bless you to have the
ability to see,
>> to understand everything
>> and to change.
>> And the ultimate blessing that I want to
give you is that you will be part of the
nation that Hashem cleans to a point
that you can see the coming of Messiah
with your own physical eyes.
