Purim is coming up, just a review of some of the
halachot of mishloach manot. If a person gives it
with, let's say a plate, say a glass, or a metal
tray, then their shailah is about tevilat keilam.
So it's best to tovel the plate or the tray ahead
of time, without a bracha though, and you should
let the person know that it was toveled but that
perhaps they should ask a shailah about whether
they should tovel it again because there's a
question whether the tefillah that a person
does if they're giving it away, if it helps to
the friend, and therefore it's best that the one
you're giving it to should also tovel it, but
he could ask his own questions to his own rabbi
about what he should do. There's a question,
if a person sends mishloach manot, let's say
with Amazon or with any of these people who
will deliver for you, if you make the order
before Purim and it will arrive on Purim, does a
person fulfill the mitzvah or does it have to be
sent on Purim as well? There are poskim, the Aruch
Hashulchan says that you have to send it on Purim.
The mitzvah has to be done on Purim itself.
Not just does it have to arrive at his house,
but it has to be sent as well. Others say
that it is fine. You can send it in advance
and you're yotzeh the mitzvah. So these are
just issues that a person should be aware of.
