the summer time is a time when the community as a whole gets together we come down to the Jersey Shore we want to enjoy our time with our families we go to the pools we go to the beaches we have to remember that we have to be safe we as a community B have grown tremendously we're now responding to calls on the other side of 35 in in town we have people who live on the other side of 18 on Deal Road we have people who live in West Allen Hurst going into ocean part all the way down by the Asbury Circle last summer was one of the scariest Summers for us as hatah volunteers we had over eight drownings of which four are lucky to be alive with hashem's help these are walking Miracles and they walked away with as if nothing ever happened but we have to pay attention to our pool it's very important to make sure that you have a pool cover that on the pool when it's not in use at the same time it's very important to make sure that you have Gates or fences around your pool with proper locks that work in function so that when we're not around we make sure that little children who are very curious don't have access to the pools also if we're at the pool and a child is not able to swim let's make sure that we have a puddle jumper on them or swimmies on them so that if God forbid they fall in the pool it allows us the extra seconds that we need in order to be able to get them out without causing problems it's very important that we all have lifeguards when we're having big events or Gatherings by our pool we should not be on our cell phones we shouldn't be texting there's got to be eyes in the pool at all times make sure we put up the signs with the addresses because you know where every single one of your friends live but I guarantee you don't know the addresses I can't stress enough how important it is that we all know and understand how to do CPR take CPR lessons blink offers them for free you can sign up at any time they have different times different hours we must know and understand how to do proper CPR it can be the difference between life and death at the same time Splash is now offering free swimming lessons to young children who don't know how to swim take advantage of it sign up take those lessons and let's keep our children safe drivers on the road make sure you're mindful of the guys on scooters and bikes you may not see them coming from a blind spot you may be making a turn and turning right into them kids on bikes and scooters now they're going 25 30 mph they're on electric bikes electric scooters they may or may not be wearing helmets or Safety Products you have to be mindful of them as much as they have to be mindful of you guys because if you do hit them or they do fall off their bike trying to get out of the way from you it can be a very serious injury it's very important for us to make sure that we're wearing helmets when we ride we as parents have to take the next step and wear helmets ourself we have to lead by example and we have to teach our children before we even take out the bikes before we even take out the scooters we have to have a helmet on during the summer months the streets on the Jersey Shore get busier and busier it's important when we're driving that we follow all safety rules we follow all traffic rules we stop at stop signs we don't go through red lights and using our cell phone distracts US Safety is something that we all have to work on together to responsibility for everyone in the community to get together and make sure everyone's safe not just me or you don't drink and drive if you've had a drink get someone else to drive call an Uber we're going to give the keys to a friend to a family member that didn't drink because we don't want to have any issues with God forbid hitting someone that we know let alone anyone at all many of us walk to our families on Shabbat at night it's very important that we're wearing reflective vests it's dark people can't see you the drivers will not see you until they're really close it's very important that we're wearing those vests have Sal I will be giving out those vests in the coming weeks in in all the shoes please make it your business to take one and remember to wear those safety vests when you're walking at night we want to wish everyone a happy and healthy and safe summer just be mindful be cautious you can do that have fun enjoy yourselves it's important that we all have hat salav the Jersey Shores phone number in their phone many might accidentally call the Brooklyn hatala which will delay care we want you to know as always that just because we're in the Jersey Shore we're still here for you call us at any time our phone number is 732 531 9988 please store it in your cell phones it's a different number than the hatala in Brooklyn make sure you have it call us when you need us we'll be there for you and have a great and healthy summer
