welcome Rabbi welcome thank you very much for joining us thank you for the invitation of course we're going to be speaking about spiritual inspiration which is something the rabbi has been working on for quite some time uh if the rabbi could give us a little bit of background about yourself and the great work you're involved with happy to do so so as a young child I grew up in par park there were no Yas then my mother started Yakov of naric in order to ensure that we had the proper education was only a few years after the second world war and after graduating there my parents took their Ben was only 13 years old to ship me off the TS W or to put me on a bus and there I spent uh my high school years one or two years in B over there at which time I started to be and uh under the uh guidance of the program that they had there and afterwards uh GI Rin you know ordained that that aspect in after I moved on to to to study under was was my rebi mik uh he was already my father's Rabbi and the relationship that I had with him is at a lifetime he was my reab was my M and he was my children's M and he was my s can he stay in my home and uh and Sh is known for the Mitzvah of mitzah ties yeah absolutely and I even wrote uh a whole um pamphlet of things that uh I experienced in the times that he stayed in my home it is on my it's on my website RAB Yakov singer.com which is U unbelievable stories of this great sadic just to watch him in action and uh while I was there um uh in learning under his uh uh guidance uh you know I moved on back to to America I got married then he wanted me to come back to to be in the co so I went back to be in his Co this was in 1973 during the Yum ker war and at that time I translated the Evan scha from the V which is uh known in English as the V the going View's life uh many thousands of copies were printed by feldheim distributed all over the United States and uh after that I returned to the United States I continued to learn a c then I wound up being a rebi and terima for a couple of years then I moved out to be a rebi and Yeshiva car and stolen for a couple of years then a business opportunity presented itself was to support a family at that time and $8,000 a year with getting paid two months late didn't exactly works so in the afternoon I tried to do something and uh they wish to give and then I was challenged what what to do to stay or to leave or to do parttime and I tried to do both and then I felt I'm not doing it honestly and truthfully anymore I went to asked him what to do he said to me not always in a person's life there's opportunity strike many times sometimes hasem sends an opportunity only once and if you don't take it you don't get it again wow so he advis me then to grab the opportunity and uh you know I I did what he said and then um you know during that time I kept my with I did writing did speaking and and um you know did you know did in in AES so to say um and um after I retired some some years ago I founded the organization and the organization basically has four initiatives two spiritual to help promote spirituality and cl Ro going Beyond ritual practice to be more spiritual connection and then there's two uh two initiatives to help financially you know one of them is to help um and crisis situations which we've been doing for for many many years I'll tell you one great story here which people who hatte us see the Y Hashem they see the hand of hasem when I went into the into business I got an order from a public utility for 3,000 items and I said why should I go someplace else they should manufacture it for me I figured out how to manufacture it myself my wife my children my mother-in-law everybody was involved in the manufacturing and the profit was astronomical it was it was more than three times what I was making as a rebi if you could imagine it was it was not stum and all of a sudden two years later I get a call they want to return 2,700 pieces oh wow I says 2,700 pieces so I said you can't return this now it's two years later and they're ready to technology changed but I was wondering how could it be you order 3,000 you want to return 2,700 so I called up and I asked the the purchasing department they said listen we needed to order 300 by mistake we ordered 3,000 everything went onto the shelves now we were doing inventory we found we have 2,700 pieces extra so we want to return it so I said to myself there's a secretary in those days there's no computers and so there was typewriters so she's typing out this purchase order then sends a Mal hasem sends an angel and gives a her pinky one tip and she hits an extra zero because Russ hasem goes ahead and he writes down exactly how much every person is going to have in their lifetime and here out of out of nowhere out of nowhere de went and sent BR which helped gave me to be you know be successful that was then after that you know then you know we did the we did the uh the organization we founded that and um and then with that came you know the two initiatives le.com increasing the awareness of hm's presence knowing hashem's presence feeling as's presence the different levels in and the project of truthful Jewish living and one thing led to the other thing you know we did we created a website so now we have the website la.com LF ne.com at truthful Jewish living.com one to increase awareness one create spirituality and um and you now I just released a few weeks ago another website to to uh be able to help all Jews of all denominations so to say which is rabay Yakov singer.com it's got 20 different subjects on there inspirational stories and and and Holocaust anything you want is on there which is uh amazing many people are on on this Rec RAB singer I must say I'm very very very impressed all these initiatives all these projects full of energy that's the name of the organization right we try we're trying yeah and now we're making even a safer on the Le which duplicates the website for those that don't go on on the internet that they should be able to benefit from the insights of uh of of amazing okay so so so Rabbi talking about Spirit inspiration most people they're focusing about how to increase in doing more mitv and doing more good but how can we improve upon bringing hashem's presence God's presence back into the performance of Mitzvah when we do a mitvah there should be there should be there should be concentration shouldn't just be robotic so one of the things is you know we have to we have to imagine to ourself if we received a letter let's from the president of the United States and we got the letter we're looking at the letter and we don't understand exactly what this letter is so what would we do we'd run around all over to try somebody should explain what does the letter say what is the What is the presid it want what have you what do he claudus received a letter the greatest gift to humanity CLA received the T Hashem gave the T to us what what does the king enjoy most if we're interested it his letter we're interested in what he has to say and the more we are interested in theem interested inem the more we're interested in what he has to say and once we start to study what uh what pleases Hashem then we realize that doing a Mitzvah we're not doing Hashem a favor that Mitzvah is an opportunity every Jew has to view a Mitzvah this is an opportunity this is a gift that Hashem gave the cloud you st every time I do a Mitzvah I have the ability to connect with Hashem to become close to Hashem it's like it's like Father our children in our parents when our children do what we would like to see them do or ask them to do the father mother's also deserves from us why why Hashem gives us every single day life and and and all the wonderful things we have family and the in the ability to the ability to serve him so why is Hashem different than than than than we are and uh and therefore if we concentrate on pleasing Hashem and trying to visualize that every time I do a mitah I I put kab a smile on aem's face you can imagine which child doesn't like to see the parents smile when they do something every every every everyone we have to imagine Our Father in Heaven he's looking down on us he giv gives gives us the the breath of life and yeah and uh we do what he wants I I'm so I'm so proud of you and we know if you make a father proud okay what what happens after that the father you know it's you know upon um the father will want to give more to the child and we say this we say this every single day in in in in ding what does want wants like we say wants our heart wants our hearts why did get the the first so the reveals in the name of says I found his heart it was not just it was that walk before me and he did that and made entire life lived he lived always with awareness of hashem's presence so you know if we we keep this in our mind so now we sing okay and I go with to people say what do you have a mind when you say so everybody seek my presence I'm asking to seek my presence does that make sense makes no sense I looked closely Rashi says on the words it's not translated to you but it's saying I received a message from you what was the message I received from you there was a message told me the message sent it to his heart what was the message seek my presence that's what hasem wants that's number one that's number one the ra says the first MIT is to know you shall know so these things this is what you want from me I should seek your presence so he says right away I will seek your presence and after he says that then he says if Hashem you want me to seek your presence and I agreed to seek your presence so now don't hide your presence from me so the greatest siga to avoid H him is to the extent that we seek to connect to's presence to be aware of his presence to be aware that everything that's going on is through him through to that extent shall know today and should drive it into your heart you should internalize this there's nothing besides him that's what we say it every single day this this this is this is the the most important but then you you're not in a rush you're able to focus slowly slowly on the words amazing and it's also good to verbalize to verbalize constantly um and speak to Hashem I always speak to Hashem I just mindful of this we become mindful of this then it creates this Deus in relationship so when we say we can't fly by that we need to stop oh I want to thank you for this thing that you that this thing my my my child almost almost got hurt my wife I almost it's happening constantly and these are these are this is the way that we become uh you know attached to you know we know we make AEM real in our saw my name there I said I Surrender I Surrender and after that I went full force I gave it my my my time my energy my my my if it's the truth then have to pursue the truth so how did it come to right you want a story so I'm I'm Our Father a king we s before you so I said what do you need fathering we sined enough super worse than the sin that we do is the sin of of doing it in hashem's presence if I'm in the king's presence and he wants me to do a how can I do B I'm in his presence is we say in how can I go ahead and violate that that's how it started and over a twoyear process I focused on and I found all over its Superfluous most of the Places You'll see it it doesn't need to be there everything is understood perfectly without it it's there to tell us in the of or for the sin of give you I gave him I said listen to so procrastinated so finally he listens he comes to me one morning he says RAB Zing I listen to the she then I listen the second time in my car then I listen the third time says now that I listened could you give me 20 CDs this week when I give out the co checks I'm giving out a CD with the co checks okay another man comes over from Lake says I heard the the he says this is says everybody has to hear this how come I wasn't taught this before is could you give me 50 CDs I'm giving it to everybody that I know and and I can tell with this stories and stories there's there's a I told him the T he comes over him next morning he says I never D in my life like today he said I was crying for the first time in my life I'm 70 years old he says I was crying to Hashem because I I felt his I felt his presence I went I was in a was giving I asked him why are you giving this he says don't you know you have to know I says why he says there's a code of law you have to know it I says why so he says said you have to know you have to know you have to that's not the reason the reason is because if I am in the presence of hasem so how could I violate his will right in front of him if hasem wants me to do this I'm going to do something else so means that's why I learn Allah because I'm in his presence I have to I don't want to go against Hashem right right when Hashem is over there doesn't make it makes no sense when we think about it beautiful gems very you know so um love it very very much so I'll tell you another thing on the truthful Jewish living side right so rebi hangs up posters one of the posters says one of the things the rabbi does is he prepares beautiful posters reminding us of different uh positive things to do and uh so one of the reain put up a poster and one of the poster says don't just study Torah LIF Torah so rebbi sends me a a letter he says you wouldn't believe what happened the kids are fighting in in the classroom and I walked in and I see that one of the groups of boys that are fighting says to the other group don't just learn T LIF and they stop fighting and it's not fighting and it's not learning so there's you know so there 60 posters on truthful Jewish living that people can could View rebies and moris can print it out and hang it in the classrooms they can hang it in the hallways inspiring messages inspiring messages and they can you can you can go to the website and print out a poster every week if you like hang it up on your sh you can send messages to your friends and every year could become a star like that of singer I must tell you spiritual inspiration I'm getting the inspiration it's definitely R it's it's definitely spiritual we have a Minh we have a custom on our Torah talks K Torah everybody has to teach how does a person teach hook somebody up on the website send them a a clip send them a a message and if they're inspired you're so I believe that that's very very important uh we need to sync our ritual practice with spiritual connection we should not just think we're going through the emotions Hashem said an ax knows its Master my nation doesn't know me Hashem wants that we should know of him not just go through the process of studying Torah that's not enough we say even comes before we need to recognize that there's an abish in the world that he is running every single thing that's going on whether we realize it or not um I think it's very important everybody should upload the into their mind like we have you know many programs God your speech and God your eyes but we got to guard our mind how we got a mind is a code word we're trying to make it that just like there's a word there's a word of means I'm aware of hm's presence and if then we can we come to know hashem's presence we start to feel hashem's presence which is a higher level you know which takes worth it doesn't happen one to three it's you know it takes it takes a little bit time I
