it's a special treat to be sitting here
together with Rabbi AR goldhar founder
and director of ziku and two of the most
accomplished ziku members Shia ziden
Feld har Shia zeld because he knows many
many da way more than I do from
Williamsburg who had the opportunity to
meet andoo with when he was still a
newbie at Z
and URI Burger who are meeting now for
the first time a pleasure to meet both
of you and we're very much looking
forward to discussing ziku in general
but specifically becausei is about to
start makos and goldar will tell us Z is
launching a special campaign to bring
people who have either started Z and
fallen off or are just seeing Z For the
First Time 23 blot 23 days and you'll be
shocked how much you could remember soar
how are you and just start us off while
we here today uh it's a great pleasure
to be here with you R schade again and
uh of course with Rashia andri uh so
makos is a great opportunity happen
happen to be post zos khah one of our
members approached me with the idea he
said makos is a great opportunity to
give people a taste of what they can
accomplish in terms of making a Kenyon
on a mcta it's a sh mcta 23 blot and uh
it can be done and if we could produce a
safer put all the material together in a
safer uh so that people can have it in
their hands especially because makos is
GNA be over Yan but they can have it in
their hands and they can understand how
it works then it's a great opportunity
to really expose a lot of people to the
power of uh retention of memory making a
Kenyon so barem we're here you know it's
on the eve of starting makos we have the
safer both in English and also in Hebrew
Yiddish uh it's being distributed online
and it's also being distributed through
shes this week and next week so it's an
exciting opportunity for people to uh to
discover what they probably most people
have never experienced and if I could
just say that there are many
misconceptions about memory and in fact
in the safer in the hakama we talk about
some of the
misconceptions but I think the biggest
misconception people have memory about
Aon doing this thing is that excuse me
it'll never work for them it haven't
hasn't worked for them up until now in
terms of remembering it's not gonna
they've never experienced it for
themselves so there's a there's a lot of
skepticism uh
ingrained uh with people not just on the
individual level but I would say even on
the community level because if you think
about it most people who've learned in
yeshivas and you know learning in some
Bas Mish there not a lot of people
walking around with every doth of shots
at their fingertips so we often think
that that's relegated to people who are
you know the gdolim or people with
exceptional minds but the the culture of
being holding on to your me learning is
something which people are just not
exposed to so barem now we're five years
in with the maor we just crossed 1900
bot I believe we over 70% of shots and
Tada we have people that are are doing a
ball B Team living you know busy lives
learning the do and retaining so we're
very very excited that we have makos as
a champ for everybody to you don't have
to do Z you know you try for for makos
that's really the goal is own makos is a
popular m most people have learned it
one time in the past and we really think
it's going to be a huge lift for to
raise the bar to see that we could get
to make a hun and know that the next day
we could the entire M from start to
finish in the next week and the next
month and the next year and years to
come so that's that's the goal of this
uh initiative we very excited and
thrilled that aldaf is involved in
promoting it as well okay so that was a
great
introduction and I think we should jump
right in um I want to say we're
recording this almost I would say 10
days before m is going to start by the
time you're hearing this please make
sure to go to z.com to order your
booklet so you have it in time for when
makos begins so addressing z.com slmos m
a k k oos ideally you'll get that other
way but I just want to mention that yes
okay so jumping right in you mentioned
skepticism people are skeptic what do I
have to do to start remembering how do I
do it so I think we have two people here
who will probably be self- admitting
Skeptics so why don't we start with URI
why don't you tell us about your
skepticism and briefly would you what
you start with and I know none of these
people like to brag about what they're
doing but I think it's okay you inspire
people you tell people what you're able
to do you're a regular guy like
everybody else tell them what you're up
to today yeah definitely I'm a regular
guy that much I will tell you and I
appreciate uh you you know you having me
on here it's real for me uh and
definitely I'm I'm humbled by this
experience um so I'm uh I went to Yu I'm
a regular Wu guy and uh I I've been
learning gar since um whenever they
start teaching you gamar fourth grade
fifth grade whatever it is and like um
most people I learned the gamarra I did
this is my second time doing the do the
second time through and there's a feel I
had a feeling of emptiness certainly
over the last couple of years which I'm
sure many people experience and yet very
few people really Embrace they just kind
of ignore and they just say it's fine
because I'm learning and so that's
that's enough and and let me be very
clear that is more than enough for many
many many people and I I in no way do I
belittle it in any way I think it's
amazing I think the do is incredible but
when you've been learning for 30 years
or whatever it was that I was learning
and I'm a relatively ambitious guy and
I'm interested in setting the goal a
little bit higher for myself and so
Hashem put in front of me this British
fellow Rie goldart knows the story well
I think it's his brother-in-law actually
who Kaz Bros to and from sh
every day 12 minutes at some
advertisement I saw I still to this day
can't remember where I saw it but I saw
it and frankly I was thinking about
dropping out and I was like what's this
12 minutes 50 60 five whatever it is
blot it's like there's no way that
that's possible right so I uh I thought
to myself like well let me see what this
is because I like things that are a
little bit more creative and Innovative
and so on so I started doing it this
goes back five and a half years from
Bros and it was crazy it was crazy and I
can tell you firsthand I am not someone
with a good memory say this all the time
you can ask my wife she asks me do you
remember this you remember that I
remember very very little but I mean I'm
as smart as you know anyone I'm not a
genius by any by any stretch but you I'm
an intelligent guy intelligent enough
but but I'm not I'm no genius and I my
memory is average at best and I started
doing Bros and it stuck and then I was
doing chabas and it stuck and then irin
and it stuck and Pim and it's stuck and
so on and so on and so on and I'll be
honest there are mestas that I have some
gaps that I could that I'd love some
more time and I look forward to two
years from now when I can go back and do
those a little bit better but I will
also tell you that yesterday morning at
9:30 9:25 exactly on my Kus and iard 102
blot of Sanhedrin while I was on The
Paton so that's my and that's my Sunday
routine so and we did it in about 40
minutes or so 41 minutes 102 blot
obviously we're not doing the shock of
Laria but we're we're we we can tell you
what on every do what the what the three
the three points are and probably a
little bit more depending on the do so
it works you just I mean you have to try
it like anyone who ever is skeptic about
anything if you try something and it
doesn't work so okay at least you tried
it but to to not try something like this
and for someone who's yearning to
actually remember what it is that we're
that you know they're learning which to
me and again I'll I'll end with this
because rip Shia who's a hero of mine um
I'd love to give him an opportunity to
to to you know to share his insights but
um I don't know why you look at me so
quizzically there but anyway um I I if
you are learning for for decades and a
goal of yours is is not to retain what
you're
learning far be it from me to say
anything but maybe you should think
about what your goal is right because
retaining your learning is amazing I
mean I can tell you firsthand I just
feel like a whole different person I I
tell people that Rabbi goldhar behind my
wife Rabbi goldhar is the second most
important person I've ever met in my
entire life because he changed my life
that's incredible incredible so one
thing I'm taking out of what you said is
is
that I'm Blown Away by the way you spend
your exercise
but setting setting the bar setting your
goals higher and even somebody who maybe
will get to this soon and discuss a
little bit more who doesn't have that
that ambition or feel like they're
missing something terribly in their
lives because they don't remember
everything they've learned try it try it
you'll feel like a a different person
either way okay so let's get to you
Ria uh first of all one second one
second wait hold on one second before we
start I always love saying over this
story when I Mar for the first time and
he was telling me he was looking at some
of the Sim and I believe one of the
first Sim he saw was or test depends how
you say it and the Simon was cheah and
he says I'm from Williamsburg I never
heard of a cheah I don't know what a
cheah is had to go to Google to look it
up and this is somebody who's gonna tell
us what his story is now with z and this
is by the way it's four years it's
almost exactly four years that it
happens was before PES that's right and
it was I want to First say two things
about rabri because he said on me like
but I made the face because to everybody
I talk to be honest I tell them I know
person very personally even I don't know
so personally he doesn't have the best
memory he did it's a big challenge him
but he's stuck to it and he's doing it
and he gave have to he gave a zoom once
a training for new people you have no
idea the feedback I got from the people
I was thinking everybody I the best Roes
I was like expecting to tell me that
you're good I'm I'm not joking so people
you know that guy not cish guy he he so
good it's excellent so really I'm honest
people look up to you so you can't stop
now so just this but I started yes like
four years ago I
started I didn't give it a chance
whatsoever I was thinking it's not going
to work I I'm not a young guy I was
learning I tried everything I I did try
I did have the urge to remember what I
learn I tried Kaz a lot of things it
didn't work out but and I gave up on it
and I decided it's perfectly fine
doesn't want it doesn't ask it for me
it's not for me for me for me it's
perfectly fine you learn and you forget
and it's okay that's the but then I saw
on Old da actually old D had to add
something that's
coming you
like he go up I was like it's impossible
I was looking work to pay for it because
I was sure that it's like something that
you pay for it I was sure but it was
like for free so I signed up and it
started test a couple days later I got
the email test and it was weird pictures
from a cheatah I didn't know what a
cheatah
is and I was like I'm not giving up the
for a second I Googled it and it came up
it's like a whatever I still don't know
it's a
cheater so I and I didn't know what to
have to remember if it's I have to
remember the cheater I have to remember
the strong man I didn't know what to do
so after two three blood I got a message
from that actually I want to dis
disagree with he said the second person
is the wife and then the B room I know
my wife is not going to listen to all
I'll be honest room is my number one
person absolutely but of course in the
in the man
but there not a question I always say is
the biggest rash in the world if not yet
he going to be the biggest one it's not
even a question I mean what he does this
program is revolutionary so it it it
just it sent me was I how's it going
asked me after three days I had a
headache I told them it's very very
tough I'm like it's extremely extreme it
off and he asked me why so I explained
to him that we theisha people we learn
the gamur with English it clashes we can
read English somehow I mean it's but
learning English it's like it it doesn't
go but he told me don't worry about it
like like whatever don't worry about it
just do it I can't help you so I did it
and when it came to the side I'll go to
that I came to the side was like by the
by the when I ate the Kaz in that two
minutes I did K on the whole
I felt literally
it I had chills it it was like when I
said I'm not joking I Saidi I felt I I
thank you for the I really i'mi that I'm
able something that I was never thinking
going to happen so I figured but I'm not
I didn't talk to everybody about it
because I was like you know what 20
blood what's going to happen after 50
blood I me 100 blood then I will tell
everybody and when it came haunted BL I
started talking to everybody I made a
commitment that time that I'm going to
translate it to yish I I'm not doing it
about to find people I had some fish
people helping out and from there the
starts we like four years later and
there's a lot of people that have also
the opportunity to do it
so incredible um Rabbi
goldhar yeah so I just want to say that
in terms of the the Yiddish division
we're very excited because we have a
full Yiddish division now that every day
we're putting out the material with the
seimone that are appropriate that that
fit culturally and we have the safer so
uh it's amazing we you know in terms of
skepticism I got a call from one where's
many people tell me oh I don't have a
good memory I don't have a good memory I
don't have a good memory and I usually I
usually don't really uh I discount it
because I know most people have never
learned how to use their memory so they
don't think they have a good memory but
most people their memory is remarkable
if they know if they use it a certain
way but I got I got a message from
someone who was mess I think was gitten
and he said I don't have a good memory
so I I followed up I spoke to him and he
said to me you know I really don't have
a good memory he said I cannot remember
my sister's names until the age of five
until the age of five he's now holding I
think 6700 blot and he haers I think
while he swims he he does a 6070 blot
uh every day of kazara so you know we
are uh anybody who's on Alda who's
learning the do if they can remember
what Duff is they're doing today they
can remember the three points of the
what they're learning on and I I want to
I go back to something maybe that was
touched upon about people uh where I had
mentioned about people may not Aspire
necessarily it doesn't it's not they
don't have a a deep pain they don't
remember so that I think about we call
it when you remember something is we
call like the million-dollar feeling
it's a great feeling oh I saw them D
test I saw oh it came up over here here
and there I mean it expands your
learning because now you can be myav and
compare one thing to the next so we call
the million dollar feeling so my analogy
is if I tell someone listen you could be
a millionaire and they're making
whatever their income is but it's far
from a
million some people really want to
become a millionaire and some people n
it's not like they're not driven that
does that doesn't it's not going to do
it for them but if they became a
millionaire then they would experience
what it's like to be able to have this
feeling so most people I my my sense is
uh that they just because they've never
experienced what it's like to hold on to
a AA because it was never part of their
their their experience they just don't
know what they're missing but once you
hold on to 510 blot I find for most
people that join ziku I get a message
after s 10 blot I can't believe it like
I can hold on to 10 blot and it's a huge
thing because the experience of having
that material in your head with instant
recall is very very thrilling and
empowering so you know I invite you know
the listeners people watching like just
try it because you're G to get a feeling
that of all the different great feelings
and learning like getting shot on
something or figing out of to all great
different feelings this can be a
different type of feeling but it's a
very powerful fuing that will fuel your
other
learning and just when Rabbi was saying
the way he felt at the Seder there's no
it's
a right someone
who's what what does that mean besides
the actual toiling when someone is able
to reap and hold on to what he's what he
puts effort into there's I can't imagine
I can't imagine the feeling is a is a
greater feeling um you just had by the
way on davah D said the G San edin said
that if someone doesn't learns but
doesn't do kazara it's like they reap
but they they plant but they don't reap
so in our cheetah
BL right so even as someone who is not
an active Z participant besides the fact
that you're going to feel incredible and
there's no way to describe Rel Le
there's no way to describe the
real that we D him for that sweetness
right every time you do it there's
another it's another level another level
of of gak of of acquiring acquiring
Torah but besides for that I can't even
say besides for that joining the ziku
family getting to by goldhar the way he
takes care of all the people that are
trying to know blot after blot after
blot I'm sure you both you both have
mentioned how important near by goldhar
is in your lives we had a we had a
Williamsburg of how important her by
goldhar is but uh it's it's certainly
certainly someone who's there to take
care and make sure that you get through
the program so again once again order
your booklet 23 block try it and maybe
um is anything to add but before we sign
off I would like both URI and Shia share
with the users because you're both
people who are far in and doing hundreds
of daim um share with the users someone
who's just starting if you want to give
them give them three tips of how they
could be successful or at least be on
their Journey To Success With The Z
program I would say the first thing is
just commit to it's only 23 blood it
don't look at the big picture when I
will know 100 blood 200 blood just
commit that you will know M it's 23
blood you're going to commit you're not
going to give up number and number two
is make a Time make a exact same time
every day the same time that you're
going to do the basically you only need
to add maybe 10 minutes a day I would
say even five or 10 minutes a day add
but should be the same time and commit
to do it even sometimes you're not you
have questions like what will I remember
will I remember everything only three
points or what do I need to remember
don't it's not such a complicated system
the thing is you have to commit it and
do it it there's excellent instructions
in yish and in the English exactly from
a lot of experience people that Z people
that doing it so there's a lot of good
information read it and commit it's only
23 days I want to say one more thing I
always say he didn't change my life he
gave me a new life and really not only
for me I'm talking for all the people in
Z he gave us a new life it's like a new
person it's not the same person so this
is the the
URI yeah so I would say uh just
specifically in regards to to tips um
when people are starting because I I I
want to acknowledge that it's a it's a
little bit of a different language
initially and people are either let's
say either weirded out by it or they're
like oh this is not for me like I have
it always open like when I'm in SHO so
that people can see it it's sometimes
I'm learning it but mostly I'm
advertising for it frankly because I
like when people ask me what it is so I
can talk to them after about it um and I
think I've actually got number of people
that way um but
regardless Barry litz's mother as an
aside sits on the balcony above me and
she always gets a lot of Nas from uh
he's one of the founders of the program
as well but anyway so here's the three
tips number one find someone to do it
with ideally if you can have a Kusa to
do it with like maybe you're learning
the doth already with somebody if you
have someone to review with for the
first week is fine you could do it
yourself but you need like
anything is really helpful when I I
reconnected with a very old friend of
mine named Jeremy shitz and we he I have
four four um speed dials on my phone my
my mother my father my wife and Jeremy
shitz that's it and I speak to him every
day and every day we do 50 to 100 blot
depending on what it is that we're doing
so that's number one having Aus to do
with is great I have other people that I
do with as well but he's my every day
number two have fun with it you don't
have to be so rigid with what Rabbi
goldhar and and the team provide you
could change it a little bit that works
a little bit better for you so if it's
you know if it's a a cheetah that's
running into a house and you'd rather
run into a a garden or I don't know
whatever it is that makes it feel a
little bit more resonating for you and
helps you remember because that's like a
little bit right um just change it up
nothing is so rigid the goal is to
remember the three points and actually
the story shockingly always falls away
it's a crazy thing people people ask me
what are what's the story on I don't
know I have no idea what the story is I
have no idea I know it's a long Mission
at the top and I know it's the first two
points already him about eating your
meals and stuff but I can't tell you
what the story was I have no clue okay
but I remember the three points in every
on it on the do so don't be so worried
about the story just make it work for
you
and then go from there and then the
third thing I would say um and on that
same point just is to use the resources
that are available to you there's
pictures I don't know if there's going
to be videos but we've had videos in
other masas um there's audio some people
are visual Learners some people are
audio Learners you know um but you're
able to utilize all those resources and
see what works I never listen to the
audio personally because I'm a visual
learner I I analyze those pictures and
those videos quite a bit but I don't
really listen to the audio because I'm
not an audio learner it's just not how I
retain information I had a friend who
just told me I'm actually an audio
learner I'm like oh so listen to the
audio and then number three is and I I
think this is the most important thing
when you finish like three or four blot
early on take a second and just realize
what you just
accomplished because so much when when
we're learning and I can tell you this
is a very powerful thing for me and
hopefully it could be empowering for
anyone who joins the program when we're
learning we we look back and we finish M
like wow we finished the Masa we don't
take a second to Revel and in what we
just accomplished and I will tell you
that when you do a Masa and you actually
can tell what is on each of the the the
dpim in each of the you know in the M it
is an incredible feeling and to take a
second to feel that to feel the Torah
really emanating through you is
incredibly empowering it's and that
feeling more than being able to say what
the do is when it comes up because that
happens all the time at this point when
I when I stop and I take a second I
think about it it's it's really like
Hashem is really living through me with
with that learning so I I like I like
everyone was saying I I encourage
everyone everyone to try it uh it's it's
life-changing I I'm happy to provide my
information if you want to put it down
I'm I'm happy to to help people in in
the sense that I can um but it's yeah I
I can't I can't speak it's affecting my
my my family it's affected everyone
around me it's made me into just a
completely different human being in
every way so thank you and uh yeah
that's that's incredible both of you
what you're sharing what you just said
URI that taking time to feel and Savor
like taste and really really enjoy what
you've done it
epitomizes right it's literally it's
implanted within us it's not something
which is like we're here and the Torah
is there it becomes part and parcel part
of you like we say
right like you you become planted part
of part of Tores hasem it's incredible
to hear um so again take on makus 23 da
23 days um
and next time besides these two people
here there'll be
another many many many more hundreds
more there are I'm sure there are many
others who are already part of the
program there are many many more you
know we only have room for
two we'll have to URI yeah can I just
add one one last point because a lot of
times the question that people ask me is
how long does it take to kazer 50 blot
100 blot and I want I just want to add I
neglected to mention this
before any time that you use it on it
sometimes it could be time that you
otherwise would have been doing
something most of the time it's time
that you would have been doing nothing
like doing the dishes like wrapping your
thill in like walking to the train Rabbi
Shapiro from North Miami Beach his words
echo in my in my head all the time about
you can become a walking Bas Mish
because you don't need to do it in a
base magish you can do it wherever you
are as and once you have that I mean I'm
we were sitting at AA a friend of mine
until we're waiting for it to start we
her 50 block last this was last week my
friend mosha peski so I it it it you
don't need to commit actual time that
you would have been learning something
else you can do it at other times how
much time it depends on how much you're
reviewing right but it doesn't need to
be com otherwise committed time and I
think that's a critical point
here incredible okay re goldar wrap it
up yeah first of all I want to say thank
you so much R schade we started at the
beginning we we met before The MOX began
Barry and I co-founder bar we with
tremendous AAR to you put the shear on
the all platform with all the other
resources and uh that's where we got our
our foot and you promoted ziku which
gave the the wind in our sails and uh so
we have tremendous uh gratitude for that
I just want to mention to people people
talk about doing zik it I will encourage
people to start with the year regard
whether you're visual or audio or what
however you learn the shear which is
typically like just under 18 minutes is
built in so by the end you'll remember
the three the three points you have
reviewed the as built-in review you
reviewed the um previous FL blot there's
a little quiz at the end it's all
designed this year it's five parts
within 18 minutes it moves quickly where
you're going to walk out with the
material your fingertips so that after
that Shear you can just go back to that
blot numerous times during the day so
start with the shear I would say for
Maas do the sheer to start then you have
the written materials and whatnot but I
think the built-in review kind of the
experience is first it's first done do
with this year it's on the AL do
Platform we have also the ziku app but
it's it's there for you and um and
that's a great way to get started and by
the end just to keep mind the
end 23 blot on the average of half a
minute of blot on the day of your CM
you'll be able to review the entire M
from beginning to end and the day after
your CM after you say the HUD run you'll
be able to review the book The M and
