welcome to the J well book club and
we're continuing to cover the book heat
that crowd would grind to Christie 21
principles for success and we're holding
the principle number thirteen put the
pressure on yourself imagine that you
have to leave town for a month and work
as if you had to get all your major
tasks completed before you left the
world is full of people who are waiting
for someone to come along and motivate
them to be the kind of people they wish
that could be can you help you become
this or that the problem is that no one
is coming to the rescue
only about two percent of the people can
work entirely without supervision we
call these people leaders this is the
kind of a person that you are meant to
be and that you can be if you decide to
be such a person see yourself as a role
model raise the bar on yourself the
standards you set for your own world and
behavior should be higher than anyone
else to set for you make a game of
starting a little earlier work a little
harder think a little later always look
for ways to go the extra mile to do more
than you are paid for if you have to
leave time for a month what would you
make absolutely sure that you get done
before you left whatever your answer is
go to work and do that test right now
successful people continually put
pressure on themselves to perform at
high levels unsuccessful people have to
be instructed and pressured by others to
this to this to this by putting the
pressure on yourself
you will accomplish more tasks much
better and much faster than you ever had
before
you will become a high performance high
achieving personality you will feel
terrific about yourself and bit by bit
you will build the habit of rapid test
that will then go on and serve you for
the rest of your lives for all days in
your life so it makes sense to do it
pays very well dividends and we are now
up to number 14 motivate yourself into
actions be your own cheerleader look for
the good in every situation focus on the
solution rather on the problem always be
optimistic and constructive to perform
at your best you must become your own
personal cheerleader you must develop a
routine of coaching yourself and
encouraging yourself to play at the top
of your game most of your emotions
positive or negative are determined by
how you talk to yourself on a
minute-to-minute basis it is not what
happened to you but the way that you
interpret the things that are happening
to you and that is why determines how
you feel no matter how you really feel
at the moment or what is happening to
you in your life resolve to remain
cheerful and upbeat as with the Franco
wrote in his best-selling book mastered
for meaning the last of the human
freedom is to choose one's attitude in
any given set of circumstances refuse to
complain about your problem keep them to
yourself a speaker at Foreman says you
should never share your problems with
others because 80% of the people don't
care about them anyway and the other 20%
are kind of glad that you got them in
the first place when you continually
visualize your goals and ideals and talk
to yourself in a positive way you feel
more focused and energized you feel more
confident and creative you experience a
greater sense of control and personal
power and you can accomplish just about
anything
[Music]
we are now up to principle number 15 and
this is a big one technology is a
terrible master take back your time from
enslaving technological addictions learn
to often turn the Rice's off and leave
them off the key is to keep your
relationship with technology under
control when people are too plugged in
communications technology quickly
becomes a destructive addiction unchain
yourself from your computer unscratched
from all unwanted emails and newsletters
and get off your phone refuse to be a
slave claim ownership on yourself don't
let technology dictate who you are don't
let echnology tell you what you need to
do take technology for your benefit not
for something that will keep you
enslaved and if you do that you're gonna
free up so much time and you're gonna
become so much better at time management
