it is they look at the handwriting guy
canvas Italy partial the camera you're
looking up there now and action
my name is Yaakov Rosenthal I'm a fan of
the late Pasha show
here we go the tour portion we've been
studying and which is read this week is
called shelach bourgeois means to send
you're shocked you would text message
not like in context it means sending
spies basically we were so close to the
Holy Land so close to entering the Holy
Land and despite it being the promised
land that God promised to give us and
told us it's a good land flowing with
milk and honey still some of us Jews
asked my to first send up some
people as spies to check out the land
when Moses got the OK from the Almighty
he sent 12 men each a representative of
a different tribe to go check out the
land I just want to point out that just
from this there's already an amazing
life lesson each of the men represented
a different tribe and each of the tribes
would eventually receive their own
portion of the Land of Israel
nonetheless all despised traversed the
entire land not just their respective
tribes portion this teaches us that
although we each have our individual
abilities and talents from God being as
we have our own individual mission and
purpose of being in this world we must
keep in mind that our personal mission
is a part of the common goal of the
entire Jewish nation to make God a home
with this physical world but your
individual mission matters and it really
really matters so don't leave the work
for everybody else anyway there is so
much to learn from the story of the
spies but before we continue the story I
just want to tell you about a top secret
spy mission that I myself was once on
and it took me to the strangest of
places it was very weird how Oh actually
you know I can't tell you anything about
that because because it's top secret
anyways back to the Torah portion and
the spies come back and all but two of
them give a bad report about the land
and they even go as far to make a
blasphemous prediction that God himself
won't be able to conquer it for us there
are quite a few explanations as to what
and why their problem was with entering
the Holy Land for instance casillas
explains that these men were hesitant to
leave the desert for the land because in
the desert we were living in a very
miraculous atmosphere and the land would
mean regular day-to-day life in a
miraculous atmosphere where all our
knees are taken care of it's easy to
find time to connect with God but in a
regular day-to-day life it's
not so of course they were mistaken
because as mentioned only like always
God's plan in creation so that we make
him a home here in this physical world
living with our regular physical life
the reason I'm trying to fly through
these subjects is because I want to get
to this main point which is a simple
point but a very important point part of
the slanderous report that the spies
gave on the Land of Israel they said
it's a land that consumes its
inhabitants and inhabitants forgive me
if I pronounce that wrong they said
everybody dies in that land and the
reason they said that was because when
they were in the land they saw a lot of
burials happening
the truth is though God arranged for so
many people to be busy burying their
relatives so that they would be occupied
and they wouldn't notice the spies in
the land but instead of being thankful
or just noticing that these people were
busy and therefore they didn't get
noticed when they were snooping around
the spies went and rebelled against God
and made a slanderous report on the land
using this very fact that saved their
lives in their slander the simple lesson
is that sometimes we misinterpret signs
of blessing and my hats rolling down the
hill one second sometimes we
misinterpret signs of blessing we see
certain things and we look at them even
as something bad instead of realizing
hey God's doing something different
maybe God has a better plan it's not
really maybe God loves you and God is on
your side God is with you and God wants
the best for you may God immediately
fulfill his promise and finally bring us
back to the Holy Land and we'll see
amazing miracles here on this physical
earth may we have the revelation of
mushiya now
