Welcome to this week's Torah lesson.
This week we have a double Torah portion
Parshas Behar and Bechukotai. The
question of the week is, where do we get
strength to overcome all obstacles? So,
in this week's Torah portion Parshas
Behar, it speaks about and it says as
follows, "When you go into the land, the
shabbat
the land is going to rest." But, then it
says, "Shesh shanim, for 6 years you're
going to work the land and the 7th
you're going to rest." So, the question
is, are you starting at rest? Are you
ending at rest? And the answer is no.
You're definitely starting with 6 years
you're going to work
and the 7th is going to be the year of
rest. So, why is the verse start for
shabbat? You're going to rest. You're
not resting in the beginning.
So, the Rebbe explains and he said
something very powerful.
Yes, no question asked, you start off
you work for 6 years and the and the 7th
you rest. But, in order to have the
power to make it through 6 full years of
backbreaking labor, when you walk in,
think about the future. Think about the
end is going to be the shabbat. You're
going to have the break. And so, the
answer to the question, how do we get
through challenges, struggles? Think
about the end game. The end, we're going
to have real rest. But, in order to get
to the real rest, and in it to come to
the real relaxation, you got to put the
effort in first. Thanks so much for
joining us for our weekly Torah lesson.
