I want to welcome all of our dear
precious
children for our prevous special special
fun program. We are soon going to get to
the questions where all the children can
dial in and call in for their live
questions. Those some already sent in
questions. You can continue to send in
questions. Here is the number where you
can text a question to or WhatsApp a
question to

718977-5279. You can ask any question
you want. You can also go to the
yeshiva.net thy
shiva.net thy shiva.net net and over
there you'll see on the homepage we have
this program and you click on it and you
can ask your question over there as well
or
718-977-5279 and the second half of the
program we will dedicate baser hashem to
take all of your questions so this
program like all of our children's
program this year is dedicated
generously by the very very special
family from California the Taiishman
family the Tishman family leishmas in
loving memory of the father and the
patriarch of the file
family zman
benimman benm known in the world as
salman or salman whose yard site is on
erves elo the 29th of passed away seven
years ago in the year tshinas 2018 a
great
philanthropist somebody who founded many
Jewish institutions and gave tremendous
amounts of sodaka to help individuals
and organizations s in need and was also
one of the founders of one of the great
schools of America, the Achbra Academy,
the Tishman Family Torah Center in the
valley in California in Los Angeles and
Schlam was one of the founders and his
family dedicates this program in his
honor and his loving memory. I feel very
privileged to be able to have this
program right before the giving of the
Torah because the Medish tells a story
that when Hashem was about to give the
Torah to the Jewish people, he asked
them, "Who are going to be the
guarantors that the Jewish people are
going to celebrate and learn and observe
all of the Tyra and the mitzvah? Who are
going to be the guarantors?" And the
Jewish people offered many different
guaranurs, the elders and the
prophets and others. And Hashem did not
rely on them. Finally the med says when
they said
arenu our children will be the guarantor
said ah now I can give you the tyra. So
as we meet before before m with the
guarantors those who guarantee the
continuation of the love of tra the life
of tra the beauty of tra the depth of
tra to the next generation are the
children. So how special is
it that we could come together. I want
to begin with a story and this is a
story about the Balshv and I'm telling a
story about the BM especially because
the yard site of the Balv the Balshive
passed away on Shabuas the Balivv whose
name was
Rab and it's known that it said they
some of the great Rabbit Sadikim said
that you know when somebody is not
feeling well or they're in a faint one
of the things you do is you whisper
their name into their ear and it revives
them sometimes you know ankle vay prince
mut whatever the name is when the time
of the balshv the Jewish people were in
a faint spiritually they were like not
feeling well there was a there was a
deep sadness among the Jewish people a
lot of people were let down the gulus
was very long there were a lot of
problems there was suffering there was
challenges and the Jewish people needed
a revival and Hashem whispered the name
of the Jewish people into our ear how
did he do that by sending to the world
the soul the great holiness of the bal
whose name is Israel. So his name is the
name of the Jewish people. So his
existence, his birth was like the
whispering of Hashem, our name Israel,
into the Jewish nama. And he woke up the
Jewish people. He ignited that inner
soul, that inner life in the long gulos.
He started to give the Jewish people a
taste of the energy of the gula, a
little bit of the light of the gula the
BMP took from the time of Mashiach and
he planted it already in his generation
and in our till our throughout our
generations to prepare us for Mashiach
to give the Jewish people already a
taste of what redemption looks like, of
what gula looks like, of
what serenity looks like, what real joy,
what real simka looks like, what real
love living with an open heart looks
Like that's the great legacy, the great
teaching of the Band. I want to tell you
a beautiful story about the Band was
born on the 18th day of
Elsash in the
year. In the Hebrew calendar,
it's called which means pleasure.
Isakas means serenity, calmness,
tranquility, right? That's what means.
And uh he was born in that year in the
English calendar was
1698. The balm passed away on of the
year which would be
1760. So the BM lived for 62 years from
1698 till 1760. So his yard said so it's
very appropriate to tell a story about
the BMP. One of the greatest students of
the Balsham was a man named Reb
Vulvites. They call him Rebul Kitsus.
His last name was called Kites. I guess
he came from a town called Kits. And his
first name was Vulf or Zulf Kitsus. He
was a student of the BMPv. There's
different stories about him and the
BMPv. And he would also escort the BMP
on a lot of his journeys. And he knew
that sometimes he didn't understand
things. Things looked a little strange,
but he trusted that the BashMev knew
what he was doing. And the BM knew what
he was saying. Anyway, once the BMP
needed to raise funds for a Jew who was
in very difficult jeopard, very
difficult situation and the BMP asked
Vulovkites to go with him on the journey
and they went and they came to a town
and the BMP went to the home of a Jew
who lived in that town. It was a small
town and the Jew was a very very he was
a poor Jew. He was poor and the Balshive
was welcomed by him. was very happy to
see the bosshumpt and the bos told him
that I need from you saddaka I need from
you a dedication a contribution of 18
rubble for a very very important cause
of charity a very important cause of
sedaka now 18 rubble doesn't sound a lot
but for this Jew it was a enormous
amount of money would be like going into
a poor person who doesn't have you know
food for supper and asking him for
$18,000 like it's a lot a lot money.
It's a lot of money. And the BM asked
him for 18, which for him was a big big
fund, was was a lot of money. He didn't
have the money, but he knew who the BMPv
was. He heard about the BMPv. And
therefore, he decided that he's going to
give the money to the BMP. And what did
he do? He had a cow. He had a cow that
he owned and he decided that he's going
to sell the cow, but it still wasn't
enough. So, he's going to sell a piece
of furniture in his house. And when he
sold both of these things, he managed to
get 18 rubel and he gave it to the
bosulkites could not understand what's
happening from all people. Why would the
bos pick on this poor Jew and take away
from him his cow and his piece of
furniture that he had in his house? Like
what are you doing that there's other
people you can go collect money for even
if it's important, right? It was so
strange. But he did not say a word.
Okay. A few days pass and it was time
for this man to pay his rent. He didn't
own his house. He was renting his home
from somebody. It was a small little
home. In those days, people had very,
very small homes. I once went with a
class for my son. We went to the Amish
uh we went to Pennsylvania to see how
they lived in a city like uh like 200
years ago how people lived. It was like
a town that's still left intact. And it
was interesting to go into a home. I
think the home had basically one bedroom
and it was like one big bed. And they
said 10 people would sleep on that bed.
They wouldn't sleep in the length. They
would sleep in the width and they were
so tight so they would warm each other
up in the winter, right? It was amazing.
Amazing. It's hard for us to believe.
Anyway, this was a small home and he had
to pay rent. And a few days later came
the time to pay rent and he didn't have
the money. He didn't have the money. The
last money that he got for his cow and
his furniture he gave to the bos. So the
landlord who wasn't Jewish said, "Out.
You can't be here." And he threw him out
of the house. He gave him a few days.
Take your family. take everything and
leave the house, go somewhere else. No,
he's not going to sleep in the street
with his kids. And he realized he has no
future in this town. So what did he do?
He decided that he's going to move
somewhere else. He's going to try to
find his masle somewhere else in another
place. So he went to another town and he
decides to rent. There was a pirates
there, an overlord, like the mayor of
the city, you know, the person in charge
of this of the town and he decided to
rent to him a very very small hut that
was very very cheap rent. and he sold
some more things that he could sell. He
found some things to sell and he he
bought another cow. The cow would be
able to give milk so he would be able to
drink milk and give his family milk and
also sell some milk. And this gave him a
little little parnasa, a little and he
could pay the rent for his new little
hut in this new town. Okay. Some time
passes, months pass by and the pirates,
the governor, the mayor of the city. He
also had a cow and his cow fell ill. His
cow was sick. We're soon going to learn
about cows and milk. When a cow is sick,
the milk is not good. The milk is not
healthy and the cow can't give milk. So
basically, the pirates who would drink
every day the milk of the cow, he
couldn't drink his cow's milk because
his cow was sick. One of his servants
knew that there was a Jew who was living
in the town who had a cow and he would
sell milk. So he right away went and he
purchased milk from him for his master
for the pirates. He brings it home and
the pars the governor tastes the milk.
And he tells his servant, "Wow, this is
incredible milk. This is such delicious
milk. I never tasted such gesta milk."
He didn't say it in Yiddish. I never
tasted such He probably said it in
Polish. He I never tasted such such
delicious pill milk. I want you to go to
the owner of this cow and tell him that
if I will be his only customer, I will
pay him huge amounts of money for the
milk. I don't want him to distribute his
milk to anybody else. I want all the
milk that comes from this cow to go only
to me. He could take for himself and his
family, but no customers. I'm the only
customer, and I will pay him more than
all the customers pay him. and he's
going to have only one person so he
won't have to go and find and sell and
shle and go here and go there. I'll pay
for everything. Wow. The man comes back
to the Jew and he gives him this offer.
The Jew was amazing. He was astounded,
right? What what a blessing. First of
all, he has a guaranteed customer every
day. Second of all, he doesn't have to
shle. He doesn't have to say a stay a
whole day. Doesn't have to look for
customers. Doesn't have to go to
anybody's house. It's incredible. And
the man was paying him more than
everybody else put together. So this
really really helped his life. It
elevated his income. He was now making
much more money. And every single day he
brought all the milk. You know, you milk
a cow at least twice a day usually,
sometimes three times a day. But all the
milk he would milk the cow and he would
bring it to the house of this pur who
loved who loved the quality of this milk
and the cheese and the butter and the
yogurt and whatever they made from this
milk. He started to meet the Jew and he
took a liking to him. You know, he
started to smoo with him because he
would come every single day, maybe even
twice a day to bring the milk and the
pirates met him and he started to smoo
with him and he started to ask him
advice. He liked his and he ran a lot a
lot of businesses. He had a lot of
things going on in his town and in
nearby towns. So he started to consult
him about everything. He really
appreciated him. He loved his brain. He
loved his wisdom. He loved his heart.
And he started to appoint him for
different roles, for different missions,
which he would pay him for. At some
point they became such close friends.
The pirates relied on him with closed
eyes. Basically he just trusted him with
everything. He just trusted him. He
loved his way of doing things. He loved
his advice. He loved his wisdom. And
their bond grew stronger every single
day. This parates never had children. He
was married but he never had children.
So he was always thinking who he's going
to leave over all of his property to all
of his estate. Who is he going to be to?
because he doesn't have children. And
what happened was he loved his Jew so
much. He decided that he wants him to be
the Yish. He's going to be the ear, the
one the ear is the one who's going to
inherit all of his property after he
dies, including the town, including all
the lands and the estates that he had in
the town that he rented out, like this
Jews hut and all the other estates, all
the other properties and territory that
he owned and he rented out. He's going
to give it all to this person. Now,
since he knew that he already had
everything in good hands and somebody
would run it, he decided he's going to
take vacation and he left the town, he
left the country, decided he wants to go
for a while and relax and enjoy life
while he gave this Jew temporary
ownership to be able to govern and
handle all of the issues. The besides
the fact that after he would die, he
would get
everything. Years pass. Years pass and
the BMP sends Kits one day to this town.
He wants him to raise money for Jews who
were in prison. There were Jews who were
in prison in Eastern Europe and the Bash
would raise saddaka for them to get them
out. Big
mitzvah. And he sent Kits to raise
money. It was a lot of money. The Bashv
needed 300 rubble. Earlier we spoke
about 18 rubble but now the BJ needed
300 rubble. So the mash asked him to go
around to Jews who were affluent and
collect the money from them.
Anyways comes to this town and he meets
the RV of the town and the of the town
is dressed up in festive clothes and
kits tells him why he's there and he
asked the why are you dressed up? It's a
regular day and he says today we are
going to meet somebody very very
special. He said, "Who are you going to
meet?" He said, "I'm taking a delegation
from the city, from the Jewish leaders
of the city. And there's a Jew who
recently became the owner of this entire
region. He inherited it from a Paris.
It's a crazy story. And he became the
owner. And he's very, very wealthy. And
we're going to go visit him today and
greet him. And he's a very, very good
person. And you know what? I think you
should come with us. You should come
with us. He's a Jew and I'm sure he's
going to be very happy to give for this
cause of the BMP. Maybe you can get a
lot of money from him to be able to
cover the debt that the BashMev
needs. Says, "Okay, the Bashv sent him
here. Of course, he's going to go and he
goes with the and the delegation to the
town." And this Jew, who we know who he
is, right? He inherited the entire
estate from the pirates. He sees all
these Jews and he greets them, but he
takes this look at Kitsus and he can't
take his eyes off it. You know,
sometimes you see somebody and you're
just like staring at them and he's just
staring at them and he's looking at him
and looking at him and there's something
strange and after a few minutes he takes
her vulkits aside and he says, "Do you
remember me?" And he says, "No, how
would I remember you?" He says, "You
don't remember me? We've met a number of
years ago. Do you remember?" And
Abulkits says, "No, I don't remember
you." And the Jew says, "Why are you
here?" And he says, "The BMP have sent
me. I need 300 rubble to raise for poor
people." And without asking questions,
this Jew takes out 300 rubble and he
gives it to Kites and he says, "Go bring
this back to the BMP and thank the BMP
for what he did for me. Who are you? Who
are you? Who are you? You don't remember
me?" No. And he reminds him who he is.
He is that Jew that the BMPv once came
to see him and the BM asked him for 18
rubble and as a result of that he sold
his cow and he sold his furniture and he
couldn't pay the rent. and he was thrown
out into the street and he went to this
new town and he got this new house and
he started to milk the cow and the purif
liked the milk and he became friends
with him and he got this whole estate
I'm that
manulkits comes back with the money to
the
bos and he shares the whole story with
the bos and the bump turns to the kites
and says and now you understand what
happened now you understand what
happened I want to explain to you
something you were wondering why did I
ask this poor Jew for his last money.
Why would I do this to him? And a few
days later, he was thrown out. Like, why
would I do this to somebody? The guy has
a couple of ruble. Leave it by him. I
have to explain to you something. I
realized and I saw that this is not the
place where he's going to shine. This is
not the place where he's going to be
successful. This place is actually
keeping him trapped. It's keeping him
small. I realized that he has to leave
other place. He's going to have much
more maus. He's going to be able to be
much more successful. This is simply not
the place where his nama has to be. But
I knew that he's not going to leave on
his own because he's a poor person. He
didn't have a lot of options. He didn't
have relatives and friends and people
who can, you know, set him up in other
places. And I knew he's not going to
leave on his own. So I was wondering,
what can I do to help him? So I decided
I'm going to take this money from him
and he's not going to be able to pay
rent and he's going to be thrown out of
this place. He's going to go to a new
place. New opportunities will open up
for him. And that's why I did what I
did. And now you know the rest of the
story. Wow. When I read the story, I
thought to myself, you know, sometimes
in life, we're in a situation it looks
like it's so difficult. Like things were
stable, things were looking good, like
everything could have gone this way. You
know, I have my place, I have my
friends, I have things that are working.
And then sometimes things stop working
for us. Things really stop working for
us. They're like not working. Like this
is not working. Like this breaks down,
that breaks down, that breaks down, that
breaks down. And we often wonder why is
this happening? And we sometimes don't
know. Maybe we'll never know. But very
often when things start breaking down
and we need to look for new
opportunities for new situations for new
realities that is sometimes the greatest
greatest blessing. I know in my own life
right sometimes I thought things are
working very very well and I'm going to
have success in this area and then
things started not to work like failure
after failure like things were breaking
down and I was upsetting and I tried to
fix it and fix it and fix it and fix it
and was not working like in this story.
And sometimes Hashem literally forces
you out of your situation and puts you
in a whole new situation and it
challenges you. It's hard. It's hard.
Like this Jew, he had to start all over
again. But as he started all over again,
new things opened up that he couldn't
have imagined before that. He was just a
very, very poor person and he had very
little success. And now new things
opened it up. So kind, why am I saying
this to you? You know, sometimes in
life, not everything is comfortable. We
always want things to be comfortable and
be easy. But sometimes I'm pushed a
little bit. Sometimes you're in a new
situation. It's a difficult situation.
But when we challenge ourselves and we
open ourselves up to it and you know
that Hashem loves you and every single
moment of life is planned exactly the
way it is to bring us to the places we
need to be to fulfill the mission for
which our nishama came into this world
then even if it's a difficult and
challenging moment and it is and you
have to be able to acknowledge that it's
difficult and it's challenging and
sometimes we need to cry and we need
good friends and parents to be able to
speak to or people that we trust we
could speak to but also know deep down
that every time we're being pushed it's
literally challenging us to become a
much much better person and ultimately
to find our happiness. You know, it's
like uh it's like if you have a personal
trainer and you're lifting weights,
right? How do you build muscles when you
lift weights? So, when you lift weights,
it hurts, right? If it's a heavy weight,
it hurts. It actually tears the tissue
of the muscle. And when it tears it, the
muscle regrows new tissue, but this time
it regrows much bigger tissue because it
wants to be able to prepare for this
weight. So, when you're lifting all
these heavy weights, right, it's tearing
your muscle tissue. like what are you
doing? You're like destroying yourself.
But really, it's getting ready to
rebuild new tissue that's going to be
much more powerful so that you become
your muscles are much stronger and
you're much more you're much more of a
powerful powerful
person. Let's
now go to, you know, let's do one more
story. I'm going to tell you one more
story about the Basham and then we're
going to go to our science section.
Great. Okay. Let's do one more story
about the bash in honor of
Shivas. Okay, this the second story has
a lot a lot of details to it. I'm going
to do a brief version of the
story. It happened many many years ago.
The BMP told a story to his students to
his students. They once asked him they
once asked him reb could you tell us who
was your nishama before? You know many
of our nishes come down a second time or
a third time. The souls were here before
in previous bodies. And then after an
passes away, sometimes it comes down
again in a new body. It's called Gilgal,
reincarnation. So they asked the they
asked the BM, who were you before before
in your previous Gilgal, who was your
and the BMT told a story? And the story
is as follows. He said in the city of
maybe some of you were
invas. It's a beautiful, beautiful city.
And that's the city where great great
satikim and lived like these who wrote
the car the
al-ikos many other great sadikim who
lived in anyway there was a Jew who
lived in and he was a very simple Jew he
wasn't a big or a big scholar a big
sadik he was a simple Jew he was a
shamim he was a god-fearing Jew
and he wasn't blessed with like a very
big mind or exceptional talents he
served Hashem with a sincere heart and a
humble spirit, with a pashus, with a
sincerity, with a simplicity. The Bash
says, "Late one night there was a knock
on his door and he opens the door and he
sees an elderly man with a long white
beard and he has a countenance as
radiant as the heavens. This man's face
is shining so beautifully like a most
beautiful star at night. Something
special about his face." And he tells
this simple Jew living invasing Jew, he
says, "You know who I am?" He says,
"No." He says, "I am Elio Hanovi. I am
Elijah the prophet." And you know why
I'm here? I've come to open your mind
and heart and teach you the deepest
secrets of Tyra and the deepest secrets
of
creation. Wow, what an offer. It's
called an offer you can't refuse. But he
says, "I want to make a deal with you."
And Alanovi tells this Jew, "On the day
of your ba mitzvah, I know that you did
an unbelievable amazing mitzvah. The
mitzvah was so powerful that an impact
of that mitzvah reverberated through all
of the universes." Which means the
mitzvah had such a hashbah. It's had
such an impact that it had a major
impact on the entire world, on all of
the worlds, this world, the next world,
the spiritual worlds, all of the worlds.
Not only that, all the malim, all the
angels and all the namis, all the souls
were wondering what did this person do
that flooded the heavens with such
light, with such joy, with such an
amazing an amazing flow of braha, of
blessing and radiance, something that
they haven't seen in many generations.
Hashem himself was celebrating your
mitzvah, but your mitzvah was too
powerful for us to see. We did not know
what it is. We were wondering what is it
that you did on the day of your bitzvah.
Elioanovi says, "Please tell me what you
did on the day of your bitzvah. And as a
reward, I will reveal you the greatest
secrets of the Tyra and the greatest
secrets of creation. Usually things that
only great namas know. That's my deal."
The man looked at Alawa and he said,
"What I did on the day of my mitzvah, I
did only for Hashem, for nobody else. I
did not do it for the knowledge of any
creature, no human being, no angel, not
even you, Elio Hanavi. This is none of
your business. This I did only for
Hashem." Elio Hanovi was shocked. He
pleaded with him. He said, "I will give
you even greater spiritual gifts." He
promised him so many amazing things if
he would tell him what he did on the day
of his mamitzvah. But the person said,
"No, I did it only for me and Hashem to
know. This is for nobody in the world to
ever find out." And Leo Hanovi leave his
left his house emptyhanded.
And the balshv looked at his students
and he said in my previous life I was
that person. I was that person. That's
the story. And I want to explain to you
the story for a minute. What the way I
understand it. What's the connection to
the balshv? One of the biggest things
that the bump taught was that the
deepest most richest part of your life
is inside your heart. The part that
nobody knows and nobody has to know. You
are amazing as you are. Your soul, every
one of you, every one of your children,
every one of you children, your soul and
your body is a gift. It's beautiful.
It's full of light. It's full of love.
It's full of the most beautiful godly
energy in the world. Like the Tanya
says, every one of our souls is
aim. It's like a piece of Hashem. Mamesh
is a piece of Hashem. It's not just
you're connected to Hashem. It's not
just that Hashem created you that too.
But your nashem is like mish like a
piece. It's like a continuum of Hashem
himself and it's inside of you and your
body also. The Tanya says when it says
that Hashem chose us from all the
nations of the
world which happened at Matra what did
he chose? Choose not only our nishas
also our bodies because the nama is
initially something completely higher
and different. You don't have to choose
it. The gof the body is like everybody
else's body. So over there you have to
choose. You can only choose two things
that are similar. And you choose one
from the other. Like if there's two
bottles of water, I could choose one
bottle from another bottle. But if I
want to drink water and not drink or and
not eat an orange, I don't have to
choose water from an orange. If you want
water, you want water. If you want an
orange, you want an orange. The nisham
of the Jewish people is so different.
You don't have to choose it. It's the
goof that's similar to every other goof.
Every other body, that's what Hashem
chose. So in your in your essence, you
are as beautiful and holy as is. And
when you go into that space, you could
do something. You don't need anybody to
know it. You don't need anybody in the
world to find out. There was somebody
who once said, he said a funny
statement. He said, "The greatest
feeling in the world is to do something
anonymously and then have somebody find
out about it." But really, when you go
to your deepest place, you don't need
anybody to find out. It's actually a
distraction if somebody finds out
because you don't need anybody's
validation. Only Hashem. Hashem knows
what you did. He knows who you are and
you know who you are. Ultimately people
will find out whatever Hashem wants they
should find out. But this was what
taught that when we live the greatest
place we could live from is inside. When
you do things and you know that you're
living with your nama you're living with
your truth. You're living with your
authenticity. You're never here to
please anybody. You're never here to get
compliments. Of course it's nice to get
compliments from people. But really
really the biggest compliment you could
get is from yourself from your own
knowing that you're doing doing the
right thing. This is what the bump
always taught. and he said this was the
person who he
is. Okay. So now my dearest kind let's
go over to the next stage of the
program. I want to say a special with
you two for our brothers init our
brothers in who are still in a big war.
All of the hostages 58 hostages in Gaza.
All of the soldiers all of the families
of the soldiers. All of the wounded. All
of the families of the wounded. The
families of those who died al killed
aldeshm all the families of the
hostages. all of our brothers and
sisters in the whole world. Let's
say for our brothers and sisters in our
brothers and sisters in the whole world
and for our families and ourselves. And
since today is B, you know what happened
B?
It's the Gmorrah says that on the second
day of Sivven, Hashem gave a message to
the Jewish people and he told
them, "You're going to be for me a
kingdom of princes and a holy nation."
This is in the sh it's in par is on they
came to
mounti and we all rested against the
mountain near the mountain like one
person with one heart and today on the
second day of hashem told Mosha to tell
the Jewish people you are going to be
forever a kingdom of princes and a holy
nation forever you're going to be a holy
nation I once saw a letter that somebody
wrote to the labb from Israel and he
wrote that I'm a kilon means I'm
secular. I'm a secular Jew. So the Reb
wrote back that the word comes from the
word
like there's holy and there's unholy
mundane. It's not holy. And he said
since Hashem told the Jewish people that
every single
Jewish every Jew is going to be a
kingdom of princes and a holy nation,
there's no such a thing as a real Jew
who's a who's mundane because every
single Jew is sacred and beautiful and
godly and divine and holy. So on this
special day, let's say twoaphilm. You
have it here in the Hebrew and you have
it here in the English. Please say along
with me. You have it here on the screens
or you could open up
aim which is today's those who say there
are those who say the every month they
say every day a few chapters and they
finish every month 150 chapters. So
today B we say from Yud till Zion
through Zion. So we say also these two
Yud and I want you always to understand
that you're saying I put it also in
English. So if you go to the screen
whether on your on the yeshiva.net or
YouTube um wherever you're listening you
see it on the screen. Okay, let's say
together.
Foreign speech. Foreign speech. Foreign
speech.
for I want to read with you the English
so we Understand what we
said is for the choir master for the one
conducting the symphony because these
poems were sung also with music for the
conductor on the schmminis on the eighth
day or connected to the eighth
day. It's a song for David and he says
hashem help me you know
why it's so hard to find in the world a
pious kind person. Sometimes you look at
the world there's so much corruption.
Hashem I need your help. You know why?
He
says the loyals, the loyal ones have
vanished. Sometimes you look around and
you're looking for loyal people, for
real people, for honest people and you
don't find them. So realize also dealt
with that. And that's why he turns to
Hashem and he says, "I know you're here
for me." And then he starts speaking
about the lies that exist in the world
because it's important to know what type
of lies we could sometimes come across
when we grow up and sometimes even
inside of ourselves. These things exist
and we have to always ask Hashem's help
to be able to remain pure with clean
energy and a pure heart. So you start
saying you know people speak lies to
each
other. People lie to each other. Their
speech is smooth but they talk with a
double heart like they speak they speak
smooth words like it sounds nice but val
they have two hearts. They say one thing
and they mean another thing. What an
expression. They speak with two hearts.
delay. They don't speak with one heart.
People are not always honest. And he
says, "Let Hashem cut down all the lips
that are flattering. They say nice
things, but they really they really
don't mean well. Tongues that speak with
arrogance because they said that we we
will use our tongues to prevail. With
our lips, we own our life. Who can
master us?" They don't believe that
there's a master. They don't believe
that they have to be loyal to somebody.
With their lips, they think they could
control everything. This is what David
Malik says. And you know what? Because
of the groans of the plundered, poor and
needy. They steal from the needy. I will
now act, says Hashem. I will give help.
Hashem says, and David says, the words
of Hashem are pure words. They're not
lies. They're not dishonest. There's
silver purged in an earn crucible
refined sevenfold. When you take silver,
it's so beautiful. When you take silver,
it gets dirty. It's dirty. It's from the
earth. So you have to put it in a
crucible in fire and you refine it and
then all the dirt leaves and the silver
remains refined. So he says Hashem's
words are pure words. It's silver that's
purified. It's
purged in an earn crucible and it's
refined sevenfold times. Which means
when you when you when you find Hashem's
words, they're pure. They're beautiful.
And our words can be those words, but
they have to be refined. Sometimes in
life we get refined in a crucible. So
our words become pure words. And he says
you Hashem will guard them. Guard each
of them. Guard each of them from this
generation where you have these this
corruption because the wicked people
roam on every side and they are
sometimes exalted by people. People
sometimes pick up liars like they get
honor. So therefore, Hashem make sure
you help me. This is B. Now let's do
[Music]
Let's do the English for the leader for
the choir master. Again, a song for
David.
Hashem, how long are you going to forget
me? Are you going to forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from
me? How long will I
have questions in my soul, grief in my
heart all day? How long will my enemy
have the upper hand? Amel was a man who
suffered a lot. And he's telling us
sometimes we have pain in our life. We
don't have to run away from our pain. We
don't have to bury our pain. We don't
have to repress our pain. We could talk
to Hashem about our pain. He says, "How
long are you going to ignore me? How
long are you going to forget me? How
long are you going to hide your face
from me? Look at me, Hashem. Look at me.
I want you to look at me abita and
answer
me. Restore the light to my eyes. I want
my light my I have to light I my light
my eyes to have
light. Lest I sleep the sleep of death.
I want my eyes to light up before I'm
taken. Lest my enemies say I have
overcome him. My fo my foes exalt when I
t. I don't want my enemies to say, "Wow,
we won over him." And when he falls,
they're going to celebrate. I don't want
that that to happen. I trust in your
kindness. My heart celebrates in your
salvation. I know that you're going to
help me and the world. I will sing to
Hashem because he has been so good to
me. That's what David Malik sings. May
this prayer be answered. May we see
complete victory. May we see complete
redemption and may the light return to
every one of your eyes and every one of
the eyes of our brothers and sisters and
good people around the world.
Let's go on to the next part of our
special program. And today in our
science section, we are going to learn
about cows and milk. And you know why we
chose this, right? Shuis is coming. And
the custom by Jews on shuis ease to eat
milkix to eat dairy foods whether to
drink a coffee to drink milk to eat
[Music]
cheesecake or to eat other foods that
are made from milk from dairy products
milk and cheese and yogurt and butter
and all the good delicious foods that
come from milk. Most of our milk comes
from where? From a cow. It's the cows
that produce milk. You know how many
cows there are in the world? 1 billion
cows approximately, maybe a little more
today, there are like 7 and a half
billion people in the world. And there
are like 1 billion cows in the world.
And do you know that till a little while
ago, till like 1850, like 150 years ago,
a little more, every American family
owned at least one cow. It was like
everybody owned a cow. Today, everybody
has a computer. Not everybody, but most
people have a computer. Everybody had a
cow. That's how precious it was. So
we're going to learn today first of all
about cows. They're amazing animals.
They're called behemoths. A behemoth
cattle. We have a cow. We have a bull. A
bull is a male and a cow is a female.
Before it has a baby, it's called a
hepher. That's why the para duma is
called a red cow. Really a red hepher.
And once it has a calf, once it has a
baby, a male or a female, that's when
it's called a cow. A mother is called a
cow. A beha. And only a mother, a cow
can give milk. Just like by people,
mothers nurse their babies, not fathers.
So bulls don't give milk, but mother
cows give milk. Now we know all milk
that comes from a kosher animal is
kosher. If it comes from a non-coosher
animal, it's not kosher. That's why we
have that of which means when a cow is
being milked, we need supervision. We
need somebody to supervise, to watch
that it's being done from a cow, which
is kosher. Because you can also get milk
from a pig, right? Or from other
mammals, mothers that nurse their
babies, but it's not kosher milk. If
it's milk that comes from a sheep, from
a female sheep, from a female goat. I
drank goat milk. You ever drank goat
milk? You could drink goat milk. It's
very or cow milk. Most of our milk comes
from cow milk. We're going to learn
about this cuz this is the milk and the
cheese and the butter and the yogurt
that probably you and your mothers and
your fathers and your brothers and your
sisters are going to use or you use
already to bake the delicious delicious
cheesecake or whatever else you're going
to make
for. Take a look at this video.
[Music]
Cows. There are 1 billion cows in the
world. They live on every continent
except
Antarctica. Cows came to the United
States in 1611 with the first settlers
of James Town and have been so useful
since that up until 1850, every family
owned at least one cow.
Cows are very social and just like
humans, they like to spend time with
their friends. They even like some cows
more than others. Just like when we
humans have best
friends, cows say moo as a way to
[Music]
communicate. Cows weigh up to 1,600 lb
and have 32 teeth.
They live up to 25
[Music]
years. Cows are herbivores, meaning they
eat only
plants. They eat 50 lbs of food per day
and drink 35 gallons of water per day.
Their stomachs have four compartments to
help them digest all that food.
Cows can walk upstairs, but their knees
can't bend properly to walk back
downstairs. Cows can run up to 35 mph,
and when they're in deep mud, they can
actually run faster than a horse could
when in
mud. Cow's spots are like human
fingerprints. No two cows have the same
spot pattern.
We get most of our milk from cows, and
some of that milk is used to make other
dairy products like butter, cheese, and
cream. Cows are very friendly and
gentle. They spend 8 hours per day
sleeping and 8 hours per day
eating. They have an excellent sense of
smell and can smell things up to 6 miles
away. They can hear things both lower
and higher than human ears can hear.
Cows are
awesome. What's your favorite thing
about
cows? Wow, it's so special to learn
about Hashem's world and every animal
and every animal has its own nature and
every animal has its own unique needs.
And Hashem designed and created every
animal in perfect way that it should be
able to survive and should be able to
propagate, to be able to have children,
a new generation, and to be able to help
the world around it. Every animal
contribute something to the world. Like
it's amazing. A cow eats grass. And from
this grass, there's like this huge
factory inside the cow that we're going
to learn about. It eats grass. It eats
hay. You saw how much it eats, right?
Crazy amount. 50 lbs of food a day. more
than 30 gallons of water a day. It has
to eat and drink. You know, they're big
and moo and it eats this grass, it loves
it. And from this grass, it's like this
huge factory. So many amazing things
come out. First of all, we have milk,
all the milk that comes from this. And
then you have all the meat that comes
from this. It's all from the same grass.
And then so many other things that come
from cows like leather and many other
things. Let's now learn about how cows
make milk and how we get that milk. And
what do we do with that milk? And what's
the process of that milk? And just a
sneak preview, as they eat this grass,
all their food turns into blood. Now,
you know why cows are kosher? We just
learned cows have four stomachs. They
don't just eat the grass and it goes
down into the stomach like we eat. They
have one stomach, they bring it back up,
they comes back to a second stomach,
back up, third stomach, fourth stomach.
That's what it means that a cow chews
its cud. One of the two signs that an
animal is kosher is it has split hooves
on its feet, on its legs, which cows
have. Also, it chews its cud, which
means it doesn't have one stomach. It
has a few stomachs and it brings it back
up and it chews it again and again and
again. That's what allows it to digest
it and it becomes blood and then it has
a special section where the blood is
converted into milk. It's a crazy
miracle. Let's see about the cow making
milk.
[Music]
Have you ever wondered how cows make
milk?
Welcome to Stio.
[Music]
Cows eat lots of grass and hay, which
have special nutrients that help them
make
milk. These nutrients are like magic
ingredients for making yummy
milk.
Imagine their tummies are like super
milk
factories. Cows have a special part
inside them called an udder where milk
is
made. The udder is like a big milk bag.
It's filled with tiny milk making
[Music]
cells. After the milk is made in the it
travels through tubes to the cow's
teeth. Teetss are like special little
spouts. Farmers gently milk the cows to
collect the milk.
[Music]
Cows need to be healthy and happy to
make lots of
[Music]
milk. Farmers give them plenty of fresh
water, food, and a clean place to
[Music]
live. Just like we need good care, so do
our milk making friends.
[Music]
The collected milk is taken to a factory
where it's cleaned and
packaged. You can find milk in different
forms like whole milk, skim milk, and
even chocolate milk.
[Music]
Next time you enjoy a glass of milk,
remember the amazing journey it took to
get
[Music]
there. And then you come over here and
feel how warm the milk is coming
out there.
[Music]
Yeah. Say hello
[Music]
to Leo.
[Music]
A so
[Music]
nice. See how this one sitting right off
the ground. See this right on the
ground.
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
Now, if everyone wants to come around
and give them a tattoo, you're more than
welcome to just follow around.
[Music]
Is it warm? Uhhuh. Yeah. Wow. Look at
this.
Is it warm still? Huh?
Wow. So, we should get about two buckets
over here, guys. Wow.
Wow.
[Music]
Fascinating.
Wow. So, here's the big question. And
right after this, we're going to go over
to the questions of the children. And if
you want to text in your question
718-977-5279
718-977-5279 that's
718977-5279. You can also put in your
questions on the yeshiva.net. Ask your
question. Go to the homepage the
yeshiva.net and you can ask your
question. We already have a lot of
questions. So let's just talk about what
we saw now. So you see how Hashem
created this situation. The milk eat the
cow eats grass and from this becomes
blood and then it has the special udder
literally like a factory and it makes it
into milk and we milk it twice a day
sometimes three times a day. And by the
way cows love being milked. I've milked
cows in the past. I enjoy doing it. You
squeeze them over here. You see it
today. They have a lot of machines but
in the olden days and that's how I did
it also. You squeeze and it's a place
called the udder. The udder in Hebrew
it's called
the that's the udder where the milk is
and from there we take out the milk and
that's how we have so much milk so much
so much milk. Now, of course, the reason
they make this milk is for their own
calves, for their own babies. But they
have a lot of extra milk. A lot a lot of
extra milk. And this is an incredible
thing that Hashem made for mothers,
humans and animals, that after they have
a baby, their body creates milk and this
is what the baby lives on. The baby
doesn't need anything else. You know,
when we get older, we can't just eat
food. We also have to drink water. You
can't just drink water. You also have to
eat food. But when a baby is born, for
the first period of its life, it just
has milk and that's enough. It doesn't
need any other food. It doesn't need any
other drinks. It just has milk. And milk
has the perfect nutrients. It has the
perfect ingredients to be able to help a
baby grow. And this is true for the
whole animal world. All of them or many
of them, most of them mammals, the
mothers produce milk. And this is what
we eat on sh. But why why do we do this
on shu? So let's go through a few of the
reasons, some of the interesting
reasons. Some of you you may know and
some of you you may not know and then
we're going to get to the questions of
the children. Okay, let's first do the
very big re the famous famous reason of
the Mishnaber the Mishnaber writes wrote
the Mishnab and the laws
of section 494 he quotes a he quotes a
great they say that it was
the I don't know he doesn't say a name
but that's what I heard once and he
gives a reason why is the custom by Jews
to
eat and he says as
follows. When the Jewish people received
the Tyra anus at that moment they became
obligated to do all the mitzvah. One of
the mitzvah of course is that you have
to eat meat in a certain way. You can't
just eat meat right? We have to have a
kosher cow. We have to shed you have to
have the right knife. You have to sh it
the right way. If you sh it the wrong
way it's not good. Somebody shoots the
animal or somebody stabs the animal or
somebody shaks it the wrong way in the
wrong place. It's not good. Okay, that's
not enough. You have to take out all of
the parts that you're not let to eat.
There's parts called different fats.
It's called nikor. You have to pick poke
pick out and extract and remove all
those parts that you're not allowed to
eat. Okay? It's not enough. It's still
bloody. There's blood. We're not allowed
to eat blood. So now we have to salt the
meat cuz the salt takes out the blood.
That's not enough. You have to now rinse
it in water and keep put some time in
the water so that all the blood is
clean. But it's not enough. It's raw.
It's all raw. You can't eat raw meat or
at least it's very hard to eat raw meat.
So what do you have to do now? You have
to prepare it, right? You have to cook
it. Either you cook it in a pot or you
grill it on a barbecue, you sate it,
whatever it is, but you have to cook it.
Comes the Mishna and says the Jewish
people receive the whole
turbus. They now become they're Jewish.
They're now obligated in mitzvah after
matra tati. I want to eat. Mommy, I want
to eat. I'm hungry. I'm hungry. I'm
hungry. Oh, let's go have a big
beautiful lunch in honor of Mat and
Tyra. One second. But here's a problem.
The meat that they had from yesterday is
not kosher meat cuz they didn't have all
the laws of kashras. They weren't
obligated in all the laws of kashras. So
the meat is not kosher meat that they
had yesterday cuz the meat may have been
eaten yesterday but they weren't
obligated. So it wasn't kosher
meat. Also the kale the meat vessels
that they had had in it the flavor. If
you have a kali that somebody used for
khazer or for tray for meat I can't use
that bowl. I can't use that pot cuz it
has in the walls the flavor of the
non-coosher meat. So what do we do now?
Oh so let's she new animals. Also, you
have to sh animals and you have to clean
out the fat and you have to salt it and
you have to rinse it and you have to
cook it. Oh, the poor kids are going to
be starving till then it's going to take
so long. So, what do you do? What do you
do? Ah, says the mish. I'll tell you
what they did. They said, you know what?
We're going to have a pizza party. We're
going to eat milk. Milk is simple. You
don't have to she anything. You milk a
cow. Or you have milk even from
yesterday. You have milk from yesterday,
right? You could eat milk, it's fine.
You could drink milk. You can eat dairy
things. It's perfectly fine. It's not
tra because milk is fine. And therefore,
they ate milk. It's in the
first others add one more thing. The
garra says that happened on Shabas. The
day that was given was on Shabas. on
Shabas you're not allowed a sheh you're
not allowed to slaughter an animal and
you're not allowed to cook so they
couldn't even do it it's not only that
it took time they couldn't it was shabas
how you're allowed to but the milk they
can eat from yesterday that's the reason
of the Mishna why they ate dairy on the
first shis of history and that's why we
still do it every single
year now I'm going to give you another
answer okay this answer comes from the
rabbu Moha is who wrote a commentary on
the and he says maybe one reason for it
is because the time of the Bikdash they
brought a special carbon on it was
called two loaves of bread two loaves of
bread they would bring they had two
sheep they would lift up the two sheep
with the two loaves of bread and this
was known as in commemoration for that
says we eat two meals we eat a milk with
bread and then we eat a flesh meal with
bread cuz you don't eat the same bread
for two meals cuz you don't want them to
mix. So that's a memory to have two
meals like the two loaves of bread and
each one you eat its own bread. So you
have the lem for the milk and for the
another reason the word for milk
is lammed v every letter has a number.
What's the numerical value of is 8.
Lammed is 30. B is 2. That's 40. 30 + 8
is 38 + 2 is 40. So is the gamatri of
40. What does 40 remind us? Yes. 40
reminds us of the 40 days that mishabenu
went up to mount si and he stayed on
hari for 40 days and that's when he
learned to the whole and he came down
with the to teach it to the Jewish
people. Then he broke the and then he
went up for another 40 days and then he
went up for another 40 days. So that's
the number 40. What else? From Rabenu
till Ashi were 40 generations. The
Rambam writes that the first 40
generations of the Jewish people that's
the generations in which the whole was
given gave us the and then in every
generation they passed on the shab and
it was all written down in the
gor and 40 generations after so it's 40
generations for the transmission of
fromashi what else the first mishna of
his brothers how does it begin
with a me. How does the last Mishna
endemic
is with a everything is 40 40. So on
we eat milk which is the gamatri of 40.
And now I'm going to give you another
reason. It's one of my favorite reasons.
Okay. It's a great
reason was born. When was Mosha born?
The garra says he was born on the
seventh day of. What happened when he
was born? His mother hid him for 3
months, right? She hit him for three
months, but then she couldn't hide him
anymore and he was in danger of being
taken by the Egyptians and thrown in
Shalom into the Nile River and drowned.
So what did she do? She took a little
basket and she put baby mush into the
basket and she put him by the Nile River
right among the reeds of the Nile River.
And then Batya, the daughter of Py, came
to bathe and she saw this little basket
and she stretched out her arm and she
took the basket and she opened it up and
she saw a baby crying and she knew he
was a Jewish baby. And what
happened? She took him home and she
raised him as her son and she named him
Mosha. But what happened before that? A
little girl came over to her. Who was
this girl? Miriam. Miriam was standing
nearby and watching what's going to
happen with her baby
brother. And she came over to Batia, the
daughter of Pare and she said, "Should I
go get you a Jewish woman who could
nurse the baby? What they call a wet
nurse? A mommy who could nurse the baby.
Should I go get you? Cuz the baby is
crying. The baby wants to eat." She he
was three months old. And Par's daughter
says, "Yeah." And what does Miriam do?
She runs. And who does she get? Her
mommy. Mosha's
mommy. And the daughter of Par gives the
baby to his own mother to nurse him. And
she even pays her for it. She pays
Mosha's mother to take care of the baby.
And then when he grows up, she adopts
him. And he lives in the palace of Par.
What a crazy crazy story. Par was trying
to destroy the Jewish people and destroy
the redeemer of the Jewish people. And
here his own daughter goes and saves the
Jewish baby who's going to liberate the
Jewish people and crush down Par. And
who raises him? The daughter of Pare.
And who's nursing him? His own mother
that comes around through his little
sister Miriam. Now the gimal say she
brings that really she tried having
mosha get nursed by other women but
Mosha would not nurse from any Egyptian
woman because his mouth is going to
speak to Hashem so his mouth had to have
the purest purest purest of milk purest
of milk so that's when Miriam came in
and said should I get you a Jewish girl
Jewish woman and she said yeah and
that's when Mosha was given his mother's
milk and which day would was this if he
was born the seventh of other and she
hid him for 3 months And after 3 months
she put him into the basket. So this was
3 months later. So let's go Zen. A month
after Zion is the Nissen and then year
and then 3 months is
V7us is 3 months after Mosher Rabenu's
birth. And that's the day when this
great miracle happened that Miriam got
ye to give Mosher Rabenu her milk. And
that's what saved Mosher Rabenu. And
that's what made us become a people. And
that's why we came out of mit and that's
why we got the tra. So we commemorate
that story by eating milk products every
shu is to commemorate nursing the milk
from his mother. I'm going to leave you
with one last answer. You know what I'm
going to leave you with? I'm going to
leave you with two la two two last
answers then we go to the questions.
Okay. You know that there's that we're
not allowed to eat a right. We're not
allowed to eat. You're not allowed to
take part of an animal. that's alive and
eat it. It's
called okay the Gmorrah says in fact is
that even milk you're really not allowed
to eat not allowed to drink because it
comes from a living animal comes from a
living animal so we're not allowed to
drink milk but the says about that
it's a land that flows with milk and
honey that means you're allowed to drink
milk so what's the day that the Jewish
people were allowed to drink milk on cuz
till they weren't allowed to drink it
cuz it's a it's coming from a living
animal you're not allowed to have
But on truis the day of ma that's when
it became permissible because that's the
day they became Jews and that's the day
that they became permissible with
drinking milk because the Torah says
that is a land that flows with milk and
honey and it's the Jewish land. So for
sure Jews are allowed to drink milk. So
that's the day of matra
[Music]
that allowed Jews to drink milk. Now
you're going to ask how can au feed his
guests milk? The answer is because
technically milk is not a it's not a
limb from a living animal, right? It's
just juice. So
really they're not forbidden to eat
milk. They're forbidden to take an organ
from an animal like meat from an animal
or a limb from an animal when it's alive
and eat it. But milk is a liquid that
comes from an animal. But nonetheless,
the Jewish people were forbidden also in
that because even the liquid that came
from a living animal, they would not
drink. So on matra that's when they
started to drink milk because the satyra
says that the land flows with milk and
honey. One last final beautiful answer
is as follows. How is milk made? The
blood is changed into milk. What a
miracle. You have blood and the blood
becomes milk. That's one of the reasons
we eat milk products on. What does blood
represent? Blood represents your animal
soul. The
says
Our soul is in our blood. Our blood
keeps us alive. You know, your
circulation of blood goes around and
around and around and around. That's
what keeps us alive. Our blood is our
life force. It's our vitality. It's our
passion. And that represents our nephesh
Bahamas, our animal soul. And that's
what it's about. It's about living and
surviving. That's what your blood does.
And it's an amazing amazing blessing and
amazing amazing thing. What is milk?
Milk is white. Milk is beautiful. Milk
is clean. Milk is refined. And milk is
the only food in the world that's
created in order to give. The blood I
have for myself, the milk that mothers
create in their bodies is to give to
somebody else. Milk is about giving. Not
only that, milk is the only physical
product in the world. The more you give,
the more you get. When a cow makes milk
and gives it to her calf, she makes more
milk. When a mother nurses her babies,
there's more milk. If I stop giving, I
stop getting. Everything in the world,
the more I give, the less I have. with
milk. The more and more I give, the more
and more and more I have. The purpose of
mitzvah is to take our blood and to
transform it into milk. This means to
take, we all have an animal
consciousness. And animal consciousness
is focused only on my survival. I want
to survive and that's why I sometimes
get angry and that's why I sometimes get
jealous and that's why I sometimes get
anxious and that's why I get sometimes
overwhelmed because I want to survive.
It's my blood. But Tyra teaches us how
could we refine our blood and remember
that Hashem always loves you. You're
safe. You could be regulated. And it
teaches us how to live in a refined way,
in a pure way to take our blood and turn
it into milk. That's why ofu the first
meal in the Tyra, he gives them milk.
And that's why through mitzvah, we take
our blood and we help it become milk.
Which means we take our animal soul and
we beautify it. We clean it up. that our
blood instead of being focused only on
our survival and becoming tough and
often becoming negative, it could remain
pure and beautiful and like milk loving
and giving. Okay. So now you have all
these reasons why we eat milk on. Let me
just summarize it. You remember the
reason for the Mishna because on that
day they ate milk. They couldn't eat
either because it was so much pork or
because it was shabas. What was the
second reason we gave for eating milk?
The second reason was the rama because
the two loaves of bread. The third
reason was because the gamatri of 40.
The fourth reason was
because moherenu had his milk on shu is
three months after his birth. The fifth
reason was because that's the day they
were allowed to start eating milk cuz
till then it was and finally the last
reason we gave was because the whole
purpose of is to take our blood and
refine it and turn it into beautiful
white loving milk. Milk is the symbol of
love. So as you eat your cheesecake on
this or you eat your cheese on this foo,
I hope you enjoy it very much. But as
you eat it, have that little cavana that
we all have the power to take our blood
and turn it into milk. to take our
animal soul, our animal consciousness,
our anesha bahamus, which can sometimes
be very very selfish and sometimes be
very very angry and sometimes be very
very arrogant and sometimes be very very
tough and realize that what we really
want is we want to be connected to
ourself and to Hashem and that we are
safe and we could be like milk. We can
give and love with an open heart and
live with an open heart and that's the
best way of protecting ourselves as
well. So we calm down our animal soul
with the the divine soul with the godly
soul the blood with the white
milk. Question time. Let's go to the
questions. I'm going to open up the
document with all the questions everyone
wants to ask questions. Please call in
or text or WhatsApp
71897752797189775279 or you can ask your
question on the yeshiva.net net t h e s
h i va.net net and over there you'll go
to the homepage you'll click the kids
program and you can see ask a question
and by the way we have also on top of
the website kids section where we have
all the programs that we did with the
children already for a few years we
started with corona and then we began
again last year dedicated in honor of
Sal Tishman by his family so you could
see all the previous programs as well
okay let's begin with the first
question we know that we always have
free choice
We also know that Hashem knows
everything we're going to do. If Hashem
knows everything we're going to do, how
can we decide what to do? Whatever we
decide to do, he already decided and
therefore we don't have free choice.
This is a question that comes from Aaron
Dubov. Beautiful, beautiful question,
Aaron. This question has been asked by
some of the great giants of Jewish
history like the Rambam himself and the
Rivid and other great people. And I'm
going to give you one answer that's
given by the medishm. I know it could be
a complicated issue. So I'm going to try
to do it brief because I want to get to
the other questions as well. I'm going
to give you one answer. Okay? But
there's a lot more to discuss because it
is a very deep question. And one basic
answer for this is sometimes I may know
what somebody is going to do tomorrow.
You know why? Let's say somebody has a
father or a mother or a teacher or a
therapist who knows them very very very
well. And I know what you're going to
choose tomorrow. So the fact that I know
what you're going to choose tomorrow
doesn't force you to do it because I
just know what you're going to do
tomorrow cuz I know you and I know how
you think and I know how you live and I
know how you choose things. The fact
that Hashem knows what we're going to do
tomorrow is because Hashem knows what
we're going to choose. Because he knows
what we're going to choose, it doesn't
force us to do that. He just knows what
we're going to do because he knows it as
though we did it already. Just like if I
know what you did yesterday. It doesn't
force you. You know why? Because I know
about it after you did it. So it doesn't
force you to do it that way cuz I know
about it afterwards, not before. Hashem
knows things before. Like we know them
afterwards. But it's like you did it
already. In Hashem's eyes, it's like you
did it already. He knows what you going
to choose before you chose it. But he
you're not doing it because he's forcing
you. You're doing it because of your
choice. I'll put it a little
differently. Hashem is beyond time. He
created time. So the past, the present,
and the future are one by Hashem. So
when he looks at you by him, it's
already like the time went by already.
The future is already here today. So
that way, he already knows what you did
as though you did it already, even
though you didn't do it yet because
we're limited in time, but he's not
limited in time. This is one answer for
your amazing question. Another
question. This is a question from a
7-year-old girl. My parents are
divorced. I'm going to be foris with my
father. I really want to be with my
mother. How can my heart be happy in a
place when I feel
sad? Well, I'm sorry. This is a sad
question. It's going to make me cry a
little bit. It's a sad question. And I'm
sorry. I'm sorry that you feel you're
going to have a sad choice.
Yes, it's such a good question. It's
such an important question. So, I'm
going to suggest to you a few things,
okay? Maybe talk with your mother about
this. Like, what can you do to make it
easier for you in your father's house so
that you shouldn't have to be so sad?
Speak to your mother. Ask your mother
what she suggests. What could you do to
make you happier in your father's house?
Okay. Another thing may be speak to your
mother about this. Maybe you could speak
to your father about this. Maybe your
father can do certain things in the
house anus that would make you happier
and less sad. So don't be embarrassed to
talk to your mother about it, to talk to
your father about it. And ask your
mother what she thinks you can do and
ask her maybe it's a good idea for you
to talk to your father and speak to your
father
about what can be done in the house that
would make it much much happier for you.
speak to him and ask him and maybe he'll
be able to help out and you'll be able
to help out. That's number one. Number
two, maybe you could take some things
that would make you have a little more
fun. Maybe you could take some things
from your mother's house that you would
like. Maybe some treats, maybe some
games, maybe some books that you like,
and that could make you at least a
little happier in your father's house.
Another thing, speak to your mother.
Maybe there's someone who lives around
your father's house that you could play
with on and you can have a little fun.
Maybe you can have a playd date. Maybe
there's a friend there. Maybe there's a
classmate and that could maybe also make
your stay with your father much much
happier. Finally, I want to tell you my
dear precious girl and that is I want
you to know that you are the most
precious thing that you have in the
world. You yourself like I said earlier.
So sometimes when we're sad, it's an
opportunity to make ourselves happy from
inside. So I want you to do this. When
you become sad in your father's house,
maybe take a little break. Go to your
room or go to your bed. Lie down. Okay?
Close your eyes and breathe and imagine
the beautiful, beautiful soul that you
have. And imagine the beautiful body
that you have and breathe into it. And
imagine the color pink all around you.
and that Hashem is hugging you. And then
you hug yourself and call yourself by
your name. Let's say your name is Kana,
right? And say, "Kana, I love you." And
Kana, I'm here for you. And Kana, you're
such a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
girl. Talk to yourself. Give yourself
love. Take in Hashem's love to you and
calm yourself down. And even if you're
sad about certain things, but remember
that the love that Hashem has to you and
the love that you have to yourself is
the most powerful thing in the world. So
do that in the middle of the day as many
times as you need. And have a beautiful,
beautiful Yamt. And I'm sending you my
love and blessings. And I hope you're
going to have a much happier
Yamt. I hope some of the parents are
listening to this as well because
sometimes when parents go through these
things, it is so so important to think
about the bigger picture and think about
our children and never allow our
personal stuff to get in the way. Wow.
Wow. Wow. I wish every parent would hear
this. You realize even if there's issues
and
struggles, that's fine. Deal with that.
But never ever allow your children to be
used as missiles in any one of the
conflicts. Everything should always be
done in a way that the children can have
the best life possible. And for this we
compromise. Even if we have issues with
our wives and our husbands, we
compromise. I don't know this story, but
I'm just mentioning generally it's so
important for all of us. And I know
there sometimes a lot of issues, but we
have to men have to grow up and women
sometimes have to grow up. We have to
grow up. We have to see the big picture
and not use our children as missiles in
our
conflicts. Why did did Hashem really ask
the other nations if they wanted or is
it just a cute story? And what's the
point of it? Such a good question. Such
a beautiful question. So I'm going to
give you one of the answers that the
labb once gave. Of course, Hashem asked
the other nations this question. Now
what does it exactly mean? What does it
mean? and Hashem asked them. It means
that Hashem went to the other nations.
Doesn't mean he went to the to the Malik
of the other nations. Every nation has a
malik. Every nation has a sar. Did he go
to certain people in the other nations?
Every nation has a spirit and energy.
Did he speak to the nama of that nation?
I don't know exactly, but he went to the
nations. What's the reason for this? One
of the reasons is because this was a
preparation that ultimately one day the
whole world is going to absorb the Tyra.
You know when I ask somebody to do
something, even if they say no, there's
already a connection, right? So by
Hashem asking the other nations if they
want the Tyra, there was already a
connection made. Even if I say I don't
want to be your friend, I don't want to
eat this food, there's already a
connection because the very fact that I
have to say no means it's in my life and
I have to say no. Right? If I don't know
about something, I don't even say no.
The very fact that you say no means that
it's already something you're thinking
about. A seed was planted. One day the
gula is going to come and the Tyra is
going to be something that the entire
world accepts in their own way because
everybody's going to accept one god from
the Tyra. So already then Hashem wanted
to prepare for that. So he asked the
nations if they want the and by saying
no they already created a connection
with it and one day that connection gets
stronger and and with each generation
the connection gets stronger until
Mashiach comes when the connection is
complete. How do I serve Hashem with
meaning and
joy? Sometimes it seems like I'm just
going through the actions and inside I
feel so far from it, but deep down I
want to get closer to Hashem. How can I
make my ding exciting? It feels so
repetitive. Wow, that's a beautiful,
beautiful question. Yeah, I also can use
advice in that. I think a lot of us can
use advice in that. I think the best
thing we can do is before we dav or
before we do a mitzvah we should take a
few minutes and really meditate a little
bit like really think about it really
stop feel ourselves and realize what
we're about to do I am about to go davin
which is an opportunity for me to get in
touch with my deepest nishama I'm going
to do a mitzvah which is an opportunity
for me to connect with hashem
himself hashem himself has put himself
into every mitzvah and into his Tyra and
into the Davening. And when I daven or I
learn Tyra, I observe a mitzvah. I'm
connecting with Hashem in his deepest
purest essence. Is there anything
greater than that? I am feeding the
deepest part of my nishama. So I
shouldn't just jump into it. I should
take a few minutes, meditate on it,
think about it, breathe about it, and
then go into it. And this helps with the
joy. And you know what? Sometimes we
don't feel it fully and it's also fine.
Don't worry, it's going to come back.
Sometimes the heart closes and then it
opens up a few hours later. Don't worry
about it. You know, sometimes we feel
that if I'm not feeling perfect, like
everything is ruined. It's not. Our
heart goes through a lot of stages. You
know, sometimes I'm feeling a little
down, but I could still be present and
do the right thing as long as I
understand what's happening and I see
what's happening. And there's always an
eye that can observe your emotions. Like
if you're feeling down, there is a you
that sees that you're feeling down,
right? Like if I'm feeling sad or I'm
feeling a little anxious, I know that
I'm feeling anxious. So that means I am
not my anxiety. I am watching my
anxiety. Remember that's a very powerful
tool. You are not your anxiety. You are
not your sadness. You're watching your
sadness. So that means there's something
in you that's above your sadness. It's a
very powerful thing to remember. And the
sadness comes and goes.
I'm in school. I'm learning parl. Why
did Sar make hugger work more when she
made fun of her? It says inarim that I
think s wanted to refine hugger.
Sometimes when people work hard, they
get a little more aidal. They get a
little more refined. You know, sometimes
I know when I'm working very very hard,
my body is in a better space and my soul
is in a better space. Generally when
people work very hard they become a
little more refined. So I think Sor
wanted to do that to hug
her. I think the de Makim writes
that question. Why did Hashem create
evil in the world? Why did Hashem allow
us to be in pain? Why does Hashem want
us to dav take away the suffering when
he gave us the suffering? What's the
purpose of all this negativity in the
world?
H wow what a good
question it's so interesting I I speak
all over the place barak hashem I get a
lot of questions but the children always
have the best questions okay it's
amazing question
so you know I don't we don't have the
full answer for everything that's
happening in this world especially all
the bad things and all the painful
things and all the suffering that
happens in the world there's no human
being who has the full answer for that
because the human brain is limited and
the human brain was created by Hashem
and therefore we don't have all the
answers but some things we do know
because the Torah teaches us things and
Hashem teaches us things so some things
we do know and that is that all the
negativity that we experience in the
world all the bad that Hashem creates in
the world ultimately ultimately it's
here to be able to give us free choice
and the ability to transform our bad
into good. Now, sometimes it's very,
very painful and it's hard to know
what's the reason for it. But here's the
fact. When we have pain in our life,
it's not here to destroy us and to crush
us. It's here to help us become the
people that we're supposed to become. Do
you remember in a previous children's
program, I think the last one or maybe
two programs ago, we spoke about how
pearls are formed in the ocean, in the
sea. You remember there's an oyster and
the oyster gets pain and an ulcer and
therefore she has to secrete a
special a special liquid a special
growth that protects her and that's how
a pearl is formed. The most beautiful
beautiful pearls in the world. Some of
the most expensive pearls in the world
are formed from the oysters pain from
the oysters ulcer. It teaches us
something and that is when we have pain,
we have an opportunity to go in deeper
to ourselves to become the person we're
supposed to become. So you say, "But who
needs it all?" It's a good question. I'm
not Hashem. I don't know the answer. But
I do know that whenever we feel
suffering in ourselves or in our loved
ones, it's not here to destroy us. And
even if we don't know the exact reason,
we need to get support. We need to be
able to breathe into it. And then we
need to be able to ask Hashem and dav to
Hashem that we have the wisdom and the
courage and the opportunity to be able
to do with the pain what we have to do.
So yes, he wants us to dav even though
he gives us the pain because the pain is
not here just to stay. The pain is here
to help us grow. The pain is here to
give us choice. The pain is here to help
us choose to trust. You see, when the
soul is in heaven before we're born, we
don't have to trust. We're one with
Hashem. When we come down here and we
feel separated, it's here that we need
to be able to trust. And here we can
choose our trust. We have choice. We can
choose our trust. Like we spoke before
that everybody has choice. And that
choice can only happen because there's
darkness in the world, because there's
negativity in the world, because there's
bad. And I choose. I could choose every
moment. Am I going to live with Hashem
or am I going to live with my ego? Am I
going to live with my blood or with my
milk? Am I going to live selfishly or am
I going to live with love? Am I going to
live trusting Hashem in a regulated
place or am I just going to go crazy and
be overwhelmed? These are my choices and
your choices that we make every moment
including right
now. Beautiful
question. My name is Zam and I am 5
years old in Parak. Did NY have any
helpers to build a ta? It's so big there
is no way he did it himself. What a
brilliant question. And in fact, that's
why it took him 120 years. Noak built a
table of 120 years. You know why? Cuz
Hashem told him do it yourself. So it
took him 120 years. In fact, it's
surprising. Maybe it should have even
taken him longer. But now we understand
why it took him 120 years. Cuz he did it
all by himself. And Rashi says that he
did it basically to arouse the whole
world to do Chuva because they watched
him do it and they're like, "What are
you doing for 120 years? He did it
himself." Amazing question. Question.
What is the your favorite thing to
listen to during long car
rides? Oh wow. My favorite thing to
listen to during long car rides is I
sometimes love to listen to music but
the re real what what I actually listen
to a lot in long car rides is I listen
to Fabangans of my Reb of the Labavereb.
The Reb became a Reb in 1950 and they
recorded almost all of his public talks.
So there are thousands and thousands and
thousands of hours of the
labans and myim and talks and they were
amazing. I was there at a lot of them
but not their early years before I was
born. So I actually love listening to
them and actually a lot of my talks and
my speeches and myim are based on them.
So that's what I do among other things I
listen
to. Question coming from Esther Basia. I
see girls on a daily basis and they
aren't so careful with theiras. They
also aren't careful with their use of
words. How can I be friendly with them
but not get influenced by them? I want
to be friendly with them but I'm afraid
not to be influenced by them. Wow, what
a beautiful question,
Esther. The answer to your question
is that it's very very important for you
to know your boundaries. What I mean by
that is sometimes if I cannot be friends
with somebody because I'm going to be
influenced negatively. So maybe I have
to be careful and choose who my friends
are. Like sometimes I need boundaries,
right? For example, if I have a cold and
I'm going to go outside without a coat,
it's not good. I have to stay in a warm
place because I have a cold. I'm very
sensitive. I get colds very fast. So if
I go out to a cold place without and I'm
not dressed, I get a cold. Sometimes
it's also true spiritually. If we go
into a cold place and we're not dressed
warmly, it can it can affect us. So you
have to know where you belong and where
you don't belong. With whom you should
be friends and with whom you shouldn't
be maybe best friends. That's number
one. Number two, unless you know how to
dress up with a warm coat, which means
if you could find more strength in
yourself and know that you're going to
be friends with these girls, but instead
of being influenced by them, you want to
influence them, then that's amazing.
That's amazing. So, you have to ask
yourself and maybe speak to your mother
about this or speak to your father about
this or speak to your older sister about
this or speak to people that you really
trust in your life. Do you have the
strength to be able to influence them
and not to be influenced by them? Cuz if
you do, that would be an incredible
incredible thing to be able to be their
friends and hang out with them and play
with them and still not have them
influence how you speak and how you
dress. On the contrary, you should be
able to influence them. For that you
need to be able to find your own inner
strength. Next question. This question
comes from Ellie
Melik. My Rebi told us about the famous
question of the Minra. Why we
say the time of the giving of our Torah?
It seems like the Torah was given on the
seventh day of Sivon and not on the
sixth day of Siv. So how can we say it's
the time of the giving of our Torah? Do
you know of a good meaningful answer
that I will be able to understand? Wow,
it's a beautiful question of the m of
one simple answer is that we don't
say we
say right, we don't say it's the day of
the giving of the Torah. We say it's the
time of the giving of the Torah because
this was the time when we were getting
ready for the giving of the Torah. This
was the time the Jewish people were
preparing for the giving of the Torah.
So even if it's not the day of the
giving of the Torah, it's still the time
of the giving of the Torah. That's one
answer. Another answer that I saw is
that there's two things. There's the
giving of the Torah and there's the
receiving of the Torah. There's matan
Tyra and there's Kabala. On the sixth
day of Sivan, Hashem was ready to give
the Tyra. It's the time that he gives
the Tyra. And then the Jewish people to
receive the Tyra wanted an extra day to
be able to receive the Tyra. And there
are other answers given to this
beautiful question of the mug of of the
mug of Ram. Okay, let's see more
questions
here. Beautiful, beautiful questions.
Is it an important thing for children to
come hear the asser the ten
commandments? Is it an important thing?
Wow. I am so so happy. I'm so so happy
to address this. So I want to tell you
something. I want to tell you something
very special. I grew up by the Reba and
every year or almost every year
before he would always suggest and ask
that we should try that every single
Jewish child in the whole world should
come listen to the ten commandments of
sadas on the first day of shu and I'll
tell you why the medish says that Hashem
said that if even one Jew was missing by
mra he would not give the tra every Jew
had to be there for the terra to be
given because every single Jewish soul
is an indispensable note is necessary
and vital for the giving of the Torah to
the entire Jewish people and the medish
also says that Hashem says that every
when we
read when we read the schul it's like
Hashem giving the Torah again and
therefore it is such a special thing to
have every Jew there every man every
woman every child the Reb would even ask
that they should bring infants even
babies that were newborn if it's health
if it's not a danger of of course to be
able to to bring them to schul just to
listen to the to be there just like by
the first m they were there. In fact, I
had some nephews and in fact I had a
baby a boy that was
born 20 years ago Maz Gar he was born
right after my father passed away and we
named him after my father
and six days later five days later was
and we took him to sh to hear. So this
is a very special thing. I want to ask
all of the children who are listening
and anybody who's listening to try to
come yourself and your f bring your
family and influence your friends that
every Jewish child from anywhere over
the world should come the first day of
shu for which is during the reading and
middle of the reading of the Torah the
ten commandments and that is an amazing
an amazing amazing thing as we
reexperience once again will give us the
Jewish people his greatest gift in the
world his own essence his own wisdom his
own soul. Once again, this is um for us
and for all of the Jewish people to be
able to absorb the TRA, to be able to
learn the TRA, to be able to teach the
TA and to be able to fill the entire
world with the light of TRA. May Hashem
allow us to be able to experience this
gift in the most amazing amazing
beautiful way to be able to fill our
lives with love, with joy, with wisdom,
with truth, with authenticity. And we
should see already before is a complete
victory and a complete redemption. And
let us go to the final song, my dear.
Oh. Oh, my dear boys, let us go to the
final song. I'm just looking. Okay. And
good
