born in the time of history that we were born we are spiritually spoiled because think about it there are Concepts that we know about that people far greater than us didn't know about there are certain realities about the world and how the world is changing and how to change it where it's headed and the purpose of life that every 15y oldak knows that I'm not sure if the the Al knew about spiritually pampered that's the word I'll use pampered how how pampered you are spiritually were and I'm talking about myself too this whole generation we were given ridiculous amount of information and stories sites and truths so sometimes the way to sensitize yourself to what you have hang out with some have you know what I found is interesting the difference between myard I'm not that old not that old not even 50 that's a sh in six months it's only 50 not that old okay but you know what I realized noticed was like a big cultural difference between me and guys who are like half my age one special it is to be and that we have something that nobody else has and we should and I noticed that today that doesn't go so well I have some theories about why it might not go over so well but today do you realize that there's uh there's somebody doesn't have shoes he's wearing hand me- down shoes his brother handed down to his brother who handed down to his brother and there are holes in the bottom of his shoes and every time he walks in the snow his socks are getting wet and you should be appreciative of the fact that you have shoes am I putting down the guy who has holes in his shoes not putting him down I'm just pointing out the fact hey you have something someone else doesn't have you should be grateful for that when you encounter somebody who's a good God-fearing Mitzvah observ I'm not going to give too much uh specific information because it's a real story um I was at his office in Manhattan he's a guy who I'll put it this way every time I went to go learn with him there were always other rabbis who would walk in to see him and I mean you guys you're B I know you learn all day but I'm sure you're also Savvy the world you understand the guy has an office in Manhattan and every half hour another Rabbi is coming by his office not all put on fil the guy thr he puts on so you understand why they're all come just a big b DOA so I'm telling you this because he's a big b doer who dealt a whole Jewish gr and knows plenty of rabbis and learned in big yeshivas but not not kab so I asked him if he wants to learn and we started learning we were learning the MIM VI a lot of Hebrew school as a kid so when he was learning when he got his PhD in philosophy and he learned every religion every philosophy every ideology he said I have to pick one of these to live according to so he's like okay so which one am I gonna choose like well the first one I know I'm not choosing is Judaism because it's very it's very shallow version of jul was given as a child was very shallow so he wrote that off the and eventually settled on Buddhism and uh he was brilliant he was actually one of the world's foremost translators of and um a very smart guy we used to together understand you
