you go to these guys at chiropractor and also he plays this like mystifying music I said what is this what is this stuff this guy it puts you to sleep I want something to make you happy the robbers are telling you you don't need a pill to be happy you don't need therapy to be happy all you need is a dose an ounce of Torah and my question tonight is why why does it work is it Abracadabra is it a singular is it just like something if I do if I act a certain oh it's an omen and it's going to precipitate happiness what about my learning is going to be able to rid me of my maladies forever so let's get started I don't know if the the uh you know the ashkenazine say this if we say by Mustafa and Shabbat we say the following words is a person who is diligent when it comes to learning Torah if you want to fight good luck go and talk to the judge so sure enough I was hungry I went to the right okay I already know the verdict anyway the guy comes the lawyer and the clerk and he says listen the ticket is for a thousand dollars he did a tremendous crime a U-turn and stiff area he says but if you want to cut it down to 500 . I said deal I said without gonna give me that I know I didn't deserve it I did the crime I went there I did the U-turn I was even a wise guy with a cap he walked in I said wow it's a beautiful uh uniform you have of it can I get one either way but and what happened because I cut it down for my student says even if you don't deserve it I cut it down for you I got into my car and I called my wife and I said honey the fund was a thousand but I got it down to 500. she says honey how did you know so I told her the story and she said genius I said thank you he says no no that was rhetorical you should have given it all off he had only half off the Whole Thing Off You Came scot-free because without gonna agree that is not a system of reward and Punishment with that I could understand which means that if I come and I learn Torah and I'm excited about it and I caused a sense of happiness I make foreign you don't deserve it there are many sins that you transgress many infractions many violations you might not deserve it but without connecting me that is not a system of reward and Punishment and therefore happiness happiness is exactly what you're going to get so the more you learn ladies and gentlemen the more your in-laws move away every night happiness that has got to be by the way my mother was very nice as long as she stays away it's okay she lives in New Jersey God compromise you can't be so honest sometimes you can't be so genuine and now we're telling you you want to be happy person because by following following the law and saying to the dictate that yields happiness what Islam says you made me happy I gotta make you happy it's how many times do we waver and we believe genuinely if I talk about somebody I'm jealous of that's going to cause me to be happy I'm gonna get him I'm gonna smash him I'm gonna come now I'm going to post I'm going to publicize I'm going to publish a very defamatory you know product on my my friend something thinking that by doing that that's going to make me happy says you could live a perfectly life perfectly content life with yourself just look to me put it all unhappy and by the way were they saying this in a couple the boys great boys but not everybody's perfect and sometimes you get upset at a child for doing something he's not supposed to do and I walk into my class and the boys take a look oh boy Rabbi he must have just you know I had an encounter with a boy boy what happened he must have just chastise this kid he's sitting down and by the end of an hour class I'm jumping up and down I'm singing songs I'm moving around I want to dance with the boys what happened how is Torah such a mood alterer now we know why because William says you have a whole class of boys sitting and learning I got a company atmosphere one second many times you think that agitation is not in your hands sometimes a person is causing me to be upset sometimes a person right I get screamed at about my boss my employees the bus driver the guy who's right behind me says hello shower once in a while whatever all these guys are bothering me at all times and fun that's not within my wherewithal but God you guaranteed me to be happy listen to this great puzzle says when a person does what God wants even the enemies make peace with you why should they make peace with you what'd you do and the answer is because I want you to be happy people are upsetting you the agitating like I gotta stop that could you imagine that tomorrow we have the ability to wear with all to solve our problems forever it's an unbelievable thing tremendous but wait wait wait this is like this ready jealousy desires they extract the person pull a person out of the world here's my question what does it mean they pull the person out of the world how does jealousy pull you out of the world how does desire play out of the world how does the pursuit of covert of Honor I don't understand by the way there's a lot of people that are jealous they're silly there's no death sentence for jealousy there's no death sentence for desire there's no death sentence where people want covered I know a lot of people who want honor who live on it they thrive on honor they're still here so what does it mean that pulls you out of the world you know what I mean ladies and gentlemen it means that has long does it have one of those negative attributes as long as I'm a person who has jealousy I'm not able to enjoy my own world I cannot enjoy my world if I'm jealous of somebody else I'll give an example I go for dinner with my wife and we walk into a restaurant now I know automatically what I want it's always a ripstick okay medium well rip steak I used to love it well done I used to love my steaks well done in fact we once went out to kosher Delight I love our Shalom and we I ordered a rip steak nobody ordered a rib steak and coaches like you remember coaching Delight everybody no you don't remember coach's life anyway let's go to the light you know God's arrested and they would put it on and I said listen I want it well done if it's not well done I'm bringing it back you gotta put it back on I said okay sir sure enough he gives me a rip steak my wife is embarrassed nobody had Ripsticks in Coastal Design and I sit down and I'm eating my rib steak eating my rib steak and it was by the bone a little bit I said honey it's red she said it's right by the bone I said no no we got to give this back well done rip steak I want a full well done rib steak he says please don't do it and I'm doing it I paid for it I'm doing it please honey don't do it I go I take it to the guy looks at he says you want me throw in the garbage I said no put on the Fire put one of the fire there's nothing here so please I paid for a whole steak put it on the Fire the guy puts on the fire and all the days he said call out the orders right chicken nuggets burger right french fries a bone so I go out my wife and I know what I want my wife doesn't always know what she wants God bless that and sometimes when I order and I know my orders in when the waiters walking with the other people's orders and I see what they have I realize that my order was not exactly as good as this now all of a sudden I love my steak but it's not the same I could spend a million dollars building my house loving my house proud of it until the guy next door built the house with one more floor all of a sudden my house is not that great make a wedding for my daughter and I put out all the Frills that I can and two days before the wedding I'm invited to my friends toward his wedding and I walk in I find it's a little bit more ostentatious than mine all of a sudden my wedding don't look as good why nothing changed about my wedding or my steak or my house but when you're jealous you're no longer able to enjoy your world it takes you out of your world desire [Applause] yeah now it's three numbers instead of ten extension 106 what do you care what extension is anyway and I called her I said she goes hi honey I said honey how you doing good what's for dinner always it's a daily conversation me and my wife God bless her she has to deal with me and every day she tells us for dinner and sometimes I know what I want for dinner I know what I want I want a steak I love steak honey what's your dinner noodles and cheese knows the cheese I want steak just use the imagination could you imagine a person eating noodles and cheese and barbecue sauce doesn't work it doesn't work because when you have time you can't enjoy what you have and comfort is easy when a person is always running after honor look at that everybody bowing down except for Mordechai and he couldn't handle it he couldn't live his life what causes a person to be jealous to have desires and to pursue honor what is it a person's evil inclination works on you and works and you works and he says do you know that he built a bigger house so when I'm happy with my house no no but look how much bigger it is walk in there walk into that take a look here you won't buy and as you're walking by you know you're not getting the stick that night you walk by and all of a sudden you smell barbecue next door and he'll tell you why funny because I have a little uh you know noodles and cheese I'm going next door for barbecue who made you smell the barbecue now you're Desiring who calls you to want to honor yes from being happy I'm not able to enjoy my life as long as I am here but what do you think God says you learn until now you're going to be happy how's it work how could it be if I learned but I still have can I sell jealousy yourself desires there's someone covered how is God going to make me happy you listen to this gorgeous gamara the gorgeous woman I can be found the rights that there are two types of people in the world there's an Hotel and another thing an hotel is a person who is always looking to take he always wants to receive he always wants right he wants always gets he wants to get things from other people his entire ammo is entire slogan his motto is take get it done this guy will give to take he'll give somebody a gift because he wants the praise because he wants the blessings he's not giving to give he's giving to take but then you have other people tell her the converse there are people who always give and sometimes they take in order to give I'll give you an example everybody if you're married your kids should be well if you're not married you get married if kids be well and all of a sudden your little kid comes up to you right before tomorrow's holiday and she presents you with a beautiful well a picture that she Drew in school ugliest thing ever saw and she gives it to you and she says daddy mommy taught me whatever happy holidays and you don't want that thing but you take it why do you take it because you want to give them love because you want to give them confidence because you want to give them reassurance because you want them to feel good that's taking in order to give that's the way it works I'll take only because I know you'll be happy you know sometimes we have a we have a party every pudding but that should be all invited I'm not telling you where I live now at least 12th Avenue V anyway and every person we have a party and people come with me I don't know if you could notice I probably don't notice I'm dieting potato chips and people bring me these Fried Chicken Fried Chicken I'll eat anyway and all these all these things and I take it with a smile even though I don't want it because by
