it's time for Rabbi minkowitz weekly Torah lesson a place where life's most difficult questions are answered here with his spiritual perspective and insight Rabbi minkowitz Welcome to our weekly Torah portion this week's Torah portion is p toos we will be discussing an important question and that is how can you attain real Joy Sim as we know that joy and Sim is the key to all blessings in our lives this Torah portion par told us we learn about the life of yak the second of the Patriarchs now Yak is very interesting and unique in the sense that we know that Abraham resembled a Jew that had tremendous love for God y on the other hand some a Jew that had tremendous awe and fear and trepidation of God as it says the a of Y but nevertheless if you give a look into this week's Torah portion you find something very very unique about yak and the life of Y first of all we see that Abraham traveled he even went down to Egypt y was known to be an he stayed in the land of Israel and God did not want him to leave God says you're holy you're special you're not leaving your whole life is going to be imbued with Holiness of the land of Israel second thing we find by y y was extremely successful as the Torah tells us he had tremendous success in whatever he touched the Torah tells us that with the wells that he named them coming from the word of abundance that whatever did had tremendous abundance With the blessings that y gave his children yob and asov is the famous blessings of God should give you from the Dew of Heaven and the fat of the Earth Earth and as we know throughout the Torah the blessings that y gave his children are the greatest blessings recorded in the Torah greater than Abraham and Jacob and Moses and the rebi says we don't find blessings anywhere in the Torah as great as the blessings that y gave his children y was much more successful and His blessings are so much more powerful what is it in the key ingredients in y that he was so successful and so powerful spiritually so the Reb explains as follows and he says like this that when you look at the difference between AA and love and or the rebi says that AA what does AA mean when someone says I love you so what's the first word they use I that means it's all about me I love you I love you the real issue is it's all about me so therefore since it's all about me the love is limited to my capabilities of Loving You versus when it comes to Y the rebi says what is the idea of Y the the idea of Y is you're an O of the other person that means you are moving yourself away You're creating a empty space because you believe that the other person is the most powerful thing that exists so in other words when yit's relationship with God true he loved God but as an introduction to his love for God he basically created a real space of respect for God and therefore the love that he was able to have for God afterwards was much greater and much more powerful and much more potent and much more successful so in other words even though a on the revealed level is the place that brings you close to God but through the era as an introduction of creating the empty space you will be able to have a deeper connection with God and a much more of a blessed connection and hence y the one that we know as the one of awe and fear his translation of his name is what because the ultimate Joy comes when you have an in as an introduction or creating space for another human being and for God to answer the question how does one create a life of joy and Sim that will bring him all the blessings follow the PA path of introduce before every experience and every interaction a little yearo create real space for the other person and for God then you will have the ultimate of s which will give you the ultimate of blessings thank you so much for joining our weekly Torah thought we have classes here at kabad Thursday morning at 11:00 gives a beautiful paral class Thursday evening at 7:30 there's a class in cabala based on the teachings of the arizal Saturday morning we have a cabala class at 9:00 based on the teachings of the rebi followed by daving and followed by a kades we look forward to seeing you at one of the classes and we definitely look forward to seeing you next week on our weekly Torah thought shabbat shalom it's styom mite
