i want you to understand what it means
to lose everything
have you ever lost a usb hard drive with
pressures memories
maybe videos or pictures it feels like
part of your heart is lost
these people have not only lost all
their pictures
but they lost
the place where they grew up their
houses their businesses their friends
and neighbors
we didn't think you know there would be
a war never thought in my life but
really nobody believed that it will be
maybe something will be some type of the
war on the east of ukraine but not like
this i was in denial until the last
minute i didn't even believe this could
happen
in
in in 2022 how you can think that there
is one person would want to come to
another person's house and try to kill
all of the people i build a great
successful company
kids family all my life it's was in kiev
till 24 of february when like in
one minute you wake up you need to make
very quickly the decision
what to do we know what happened many
many times in germany in spain in
ukraine when the war starts there is no
humanism second world war so many jews
needed to live their house their cities
without nothing
how many times we lost like i don't know
like huge percent of our
[Music]
our community right like you don't you
don't hold back you just you just have
to run
for me of course it was hard and the
whole our life was there
but there was no looking back when the
war started we like immediately put my
family to the car
uh a few suitcases what we have
with us and we just went to the border
we crossed the border
hour and a half before the government
closed the border we was really very
lucky
in the evening they announced a curfew
so i thought it's a good idea to to go
after the curfew we went to village
outside of kiev towards the west it's a
jewish village we stayed there for night
in the morning we went towards the west
then we crossed the hungarian border and
went to israel after that after a few
weeks in israel we came to united states
[Music]
now after the war has broken out and so
many so many people
of ukraine are dispersed all over the
world
the jewish community stays united
together they support each other i came
from ukraine i have my close friend that
he lived in monty so his brother lived
here and he said okay this house for you
his brother went to other place this was
unbelievable yeah then akiva came from
from ukraine
we also bring them to this house
we
find the place how to put everybody in
one house and brochure
together helping each other give
motivation to each other
and
hashem
this is the story
of olami it's a story that needs to be
written and needs to be told
robin hoover he also he was my teacher
in school after he opened student center
with a me great person who know how to
find a way to heart of everyone the
first job is spent by murdoch
i became kind of mentor for me and then
step by step became naturally i started
observing i captured my kitchen then i
started going to twilight and then i did
a breath
not not was not my first step
thousands students go through this
program and this helped them to
be back to the her jewish roots dolan me
was right there showing that there is a
better life you can put a price on this
it's not just lessons much more about
family and community we need to remember
the what really important things in our
life
it's not material things all what you
have
is your family it's very important to
have some identification that we are
jewish all jewish people in all the
world is one family
