Hello friends I hope this message finds
you well you probably haven't seen or
heard from me a lot especially on
YouTube as I've been pretty quiet over
the past few months there's a lot been
going on and I want to talk to you guys
about that a little bit later on in
future videos but right now I want to
tell you guys about something that
happened to me almost exactly a month
ago um I have a rabbi a mentor who's
also a very good friend his name is Mata
Frank he lives in Israel and he was
visiting me in Texas he came to spend
some time with me with my family with my
community and I was driving him around
for a couple days while he was giving
classes and lectures in different places
one night after giving a class him and I
were driving towards my house and we got
to an intersection I had to make a left
turn off of a Main Street into a side
street I started to make the turn I
noticed there was a car far far away
which was coming in our Direction but
according to the math that I had done
and which I do whenever I'm driving and
making a turn I figured that this car is
really far away and I'd have no problem
completing the turn before the car came
to us but um as I was in middle of
making the turn and I'm talking about
this as if like it took a long time this
all happened in a matter of milliseconds
but as I was making the turn I noticed
that the car was actually out of control
and speeding towards us at unbelievable
speeds and the the car had bumped off
the sidewalk and it just it seemed to me
like a very dangerous
situation and
um I wasn't sure what to do I wasn't
sure if I should stay in the
intersection and let the car pass or
should I back up and try to get back to
where I was before I started turning or
should I try to get out of the
intersection and complete the turn again
it I'm like all the amount of time that
I'm using to tell the story um in this
amount of time the story would have
happened 100 times already but
ultimately I made the decision the Split
Second decision to gun it make the left
turn I just hit the pedal to the metal
and it shocked my friend rata he was
like what's going on and I just got out
of the intersection a second later
literally 1 second later this out of
control car zipped past us and smashed
into a electric pole and then into a
tree it made like a 180°
turn look at this vehicle
the car was demolished there were pieces
all over the street there was broken
glass everywhere and smoke and
unfortunately the driver was ejected
from the vehicle and he was laying there
on the ground screaming in agony um
thank God he did survive but he had many
broken bones and he definitely is going
to have a long recovery process it
didn't take us long to figure out that
we had experienced something which could
have ended very very differently and and
honestly we thought about it and we
think of it as kind of like a miracle
like the fact that I was thank God
focused and decided to make the decision
that I had made God forbid if we had
stayed in the intersection we could have
gotten really really badly hurt or
Worse the night after this happened just
about 24 hours later we made a big party
sudas which is basically a a
Thanksgiving me to thank God for his
incredible kindness for saving us in
this
situation and I've been thinking a lot
about you
know life in general since that happened
because it could have ended so
differently and because our lives were
definitely at risk I've been
contemplating a lot on my life the
things I've been doing the things I want
to be doing the things I haven't done
yet the things I should have done and um
yeah it's just been a
very shall I say reflective month uh
since this happened and uh the reason
I'm sharing this with you is number one
because I want to thank God publicly for
his kindness for giving us that extra
chance at life and for saving us from
what could have been a really terrible
outcome and number two because I want to
remind you guys that um life is short
and there's so much that you can do
to have a better life enjoy your life
more make every moment count I'm sure so
many of you are doing amazing things but
we can all strive to be a little bit
better I'm going to try to do that I
hope you guys can do that and uh I hope
to see you guys more often I'll be
making some more videos very soon stay
tuned thank you all for tuning in God
bless you see you later
