I guess it's recording okay guys welcome
thank you all for coming you turn to
page in your little booklets we get
started so I want to mention right away
something that he will speak
about and if you look down it says verse
three
gimel we are we are
so the translation
is and I will bless those who bless you
and the one who curses you I will curse
I want you to pay attention to two
things the first thing is God says I
Will
Bless right that's his first statement
those who bless
you meaning he's already blessing
those who bless
you so the eye God is first coming to
bless second word is th those others who
are blessing you in the second part of
that verse it says and those who curse
you I will curse so it's not
symmetric but it's in the opposite
direction it's almost like a Bend okay
so those they curse first those who
curse you
and then the result is God will curse
them got got it the second thing that
one should be aware of I I'll ask you if
you can pick it out look at the words
there's four
words the same word for blessing is used
I will bless those who bless
you and those who curse you I will
curse you see something different about
the last two words it's not the same
root ah
is not the same word for curse there's
more than one word for
curse why so why is it number one not
symmetrical but the second is flipped
right the second part of the phrase is
flipped and the word for God Cur uh God
will curse is a different word than the
word used for those who curse
you okay with that in
mind he begins by asking the first
question
from the fact that it doesn't say why
doesn't it
say
meaning it should have been consistent
or symmetrical symmetrical with the
first two words I will curse those who
curse you he say doesn't say that from
the fact that it doesn't say
that like it
says the
are like it says in the first two words
I will bless those who bless you
and he's going to discuss that concept a
little bit now there's a verse in
Proverbs Mish
161 it
says to
man to
man
right is arranged it's an arranged table
the
word to a man is the arrangement of his
heart meaning his
thoughts
now we are going to talk about the rest
of that verse later so I'll bring it up
but from Hashem comes the tongue's reply
we'll talk about that later but
basically
said before comes forth any kind of
speech debor from the Safa or an outward
from the lips from his mouth before a
man even speaks he thinks about what he
is going to say usually
okay he arranges them in his thoughts in
his heart in his mind and his
Mak and it's well
known or you should know sorry you
should know that the good that when it
comes to good goodness good
thoughts God
himself he welds together he connects he
makes there a Continuum from the thought
to the action I'd like to say he's
actually personally involved as opposed
to be disconnected which we'll see when
it comes to evil there is a disconnect
but either he connects he is involved or
he just connects them the thought to the
action and that's true when it comes to
good when it comes to evil thoughts or
bad thoughts or
negative he's not connecting he's not
involved in the evil action he's not
connecting you the thought to the evil
action
Shar as it says in a certain verse it
says in Psalms 66
18 said had I perceived had I seen any
iniquity in my
heart God would not hear it God would
not listen that's a very strange thing
but that's what he's revealing to us
that his evil
thoughts if they assuming they never
came to action they're not really
accountable now there are certain sins
that thought alone would be but let's
say for the most part if someone if okay
this actually happens to apply this is
to Abraham the the
um the um the person we're talking about
is Abraham and everything we learn about
Jews in this sense is going to come from
Abraham so this actually applies to Jews
and Jews alone that if a Jew has a
positive thought and something prevents
him from fulfilling it it's counted as
if he did
it if he had a bad thought and something
prevented him from doing it it's not
counted as if he did it everyone follow
that it's a very strange thing because
it's counterintuitive it should work in
both directions you have a thought but
you didn't do it either it doesn't count
and there doesn't count for the bad
either or if it's good and it counts so
why shouldn't it count for the
bad but there is a difference and we're
going to see
why now we're at the next paragraph L
see and it is
written so before I even get to this I
mean well let's read it and I'll ask the
question this is in Isaiah
65:24 before they call out this is God
speaking I already answered them before
they call out I answer them why
obviously because God knows everything
can read our
minds so one of the questions we're
going to ponder is then why do we need
to pray why do we need to move our lips
why do we need to get up so early in the
morning and hang out in Shore for an
hour and move our lips if God knows I
can just lie on my
bed and well I can't so we're going to
read
one even before that a man goes forth
from his mouth what his wants his
requests already was as we said it was
arranged the thought was started in his
heart and his mind what he's about to
ask or what he needs
Al God can already answer him from his
holy
Abode before he utters these
words this is by
God to
exclude when a person asks or has a need
need from his
friend and he
asks he must utter it he must explain it
he needs
to utter it from his
lips because a man does not
know what is in the heart of his
fellow but God examines he right
ination it's a test God knows he tests
he knows the
heart Libo to fulfill the requests of
the person's heart like it says in
Psalms 20 verse
5 that's the first part of the verse is
and he will
fulfill he may he Grant sorry may he
Grant what is in your heart your heart's
desires I'll read the rest of the verse
he doesn't quote it here but we will and
fulfill your every plan so and also like
it says in m in Proverbs
161 we did see that earlier to man is
the arrangement within his heart
however for hasem for hasem comes the
tongue's reply now this comes to answer
the question that we all have so what is
the
question why do we need to
pray
okay this comes to clarify to fix this
question which
is if in truth
God can fulfill will fulfill the the
request the the the the the need after
it was already arranged within the
person's
heart why does God then request from us
to bring forth out of our mouth the
request any any uh any thoughts on the
matter why does God want us to move our
lips why does God want us it's a
relationship okay it's a relationship
with
meaning you know pouring out our
hearts he wants that yeah I mean if we
didn't ask him or you know and then it
wouldn't be really of a
relationship it's a part of a
relationship prayer
is it's very very I heard Rabbi uh
Kellerman speak once and this is nothing
to do I'm not going to say anything you
know I'm just repeating words for the
words that he used I hope I got them
right but he spoke exactly what you said
he says you can have two women walking
down the street they're both talking at
the same time to each other they're both
want this relationship I mean it's a
crazy thing to think about but sometimes
that you can see that happening but yes
um he wants that it's not enough just to
sit and
think it's being active in the
relationship
so it
says right as we said and from hasem
comes the tongues
reply it's actually a gift it's it's
it's granted it's a gift that Hashem has
given that he's going to reply to the
tongue of man as it says in in
that God actually desires you know what
a t is a it's a desire it's a deep
desire God wants to hear the prayers of
the
righteous now there's a uh analogy here
the it's a analogous by
God for those that had little children
they they they they know well the kid
can drive you Bonkers and repeat the
same thing over and over I want that
candy I want that candy I mean you can
see it in the in the lines at the
grocery store why they put all these
little chachkas right by the by the
teller okay how many times you going
know you're just watching the kid drive
his parents nut crazy but just like a
child who's so excited and happy he's
standing by his father and he's
requesting something from his father
even though the son even though the
father knows exactly what the son wants
needs that the father wants to hear it
from the son it's
relationship
okay it's the father who's made happy
he's excited by hear hearing his son
pronounced what he
wants
to so to God says to
Israel I want to hear your voice now
these are five words that he says are Al
it's similar to what is expressed in the
song of song sh
sherim and
in I'll read the verses in English so in
song of songs it talks about when the
Jewish people are standing at the Red
Sea at the Sea of reeds it says at the
sea he said to me oh my Dove trapped at
the sea as if in the Cliffs of the rock
the concealment of the Terrace show me
your powerful gate let me hear your
supplementing voice for your voice is
sweet and your countenance is comely so
something about the the voice and it
also says in
Jeremiah I will bring him close and then
he will be able to approach me the word
here
he for your voice is sweet to approach
me there's that that relationship again
it's all about the
relationship listen I never saw this TV
show that this guy Donald Trump had but
I can just imagine The Apprentice or the
I I don't know what the other titles of
these things were but I heard like Clips
where he just kicks people off the show
right so here it says God doesn't want
to act and behave like with us like the
way that these
s ministers
or or even Earthly Kings
act they don't allow you to speak too
long in front of them
as soon as they get the just of what
you're trying to say they
say cut your cut your speech short you
know give me the 15 second thing or get
out oh they
say just stop what you're saying and
leave I mean I you can imagine Trump guy
like Trump saying that right I mean am I
right or am I wrong something like
that like those cook shows you know when
they dump people okay yeah on reality
shows that would or something they're
not too nice to the the people that are
trying you know I I saw like part of it
one time and he was the the the king
words were your fire okay and he was
just like and it and he it you know it
like built up to that was like a
crescendo but but hak you had something
to say yeah maybe I missed it but going
back to your question about the Symmetry
with I will bless those who bless me and
and the words don't add up is he going
to deal with that yes but I I don't know
if he's going to deal before
9:00 can we cuz I'm on it's like a
cliffhanger you know hopefully this will
work but God in his kindness in his Rock
is not like that he doesn't act like
Trump I don't know if that's right to
even mention him he's probably going to
be the next president he proba right
okay I promise no more
politics commotion Mr like it says in
Psalms
213 you've granted him his heart's
desires even though if you read the rest
of the verse it says
and the utterance of his lips you have
not
withheld since we are in the eyes of God
shall he be blessed like excited kid
like an excited kid and a very dear
son this is what it means this why it
says even before you call out
and I answer
nevertheless still while they have not
yet spoken I'm
listening I have not prevented them from
uttering their lips next
paragraph now we understand it says in
Psalm
then said if I see this negative if I
see this sin in my in my
heart you know God's not listening
there's no connection
there well that's true by the bad or the
negative well maybe that's also true
maybe my my prayers are just all waste
who says he's going to answer them
that's why it says in Psalms that's the
next verse
66:19 it says
say this is D in truth God has heard he
has heard my
prayer when it comes to prayer it's not
true that God does hear my prayer even
before it actually left my mouth so if
that's the case so why in the heck are
we praying again
why does he ask me come to his house and
trample his gate so to speak why does he
ask me to come in get up so early in the
morning
why because the answer is 6620 it's the
next verse in Psalms blessed is God who
has not turned away my prayer or his
loving kindness from
me I'm giving thanks not even praying
he's already heard my prayers I'm coming
to give
thanks his kindness his Mercy he doesn't
turn away my prayer and
therefore and he desires the utterance
of my lips there's two there two aspects
it's true
he's answered my prayer I got to show up
and give
thanks we're going to get to your
question I will bless those who bless
you the one who's blessing you he's
already thought in his heart before it
even even uttered out of his mouth
the and we said that the thought the
good thought anyway is considered as if
it already happened is considered like
an action as it took
place therefore I'm actually blessing
the person even before came
out but when it comes to cursing and
arcan doesn't work like that
rather right those who curse you that's
after that's only after the curse
already uttered out of their
mouth so we're using a different word
then God will curse him then God says I
will curse
him but it's not before the curse comes
out
as we said before and we're reiterate
reiterating it that when it comes to a
bad thought God does not act as a
conduit or get involved or connect the
evil thought to the
action now there's a little bit of a
Different Twist on everything we said
but we're not going to escape the whole
next page is going to deal with your
question sorry but we'll try to get to
it
there's a whole another concept here
anybody hear
Cohen so listen to this there's another
Twist on
this you have two vessels one's full and
one is half full no I didn't
say okay there's you cannot compare when
you pour out out of one vessel that's
totally full and pouring out from
another vessel that's partially
full when when I don't know if you you
notice in sh and shabas maybe you come
so you see that there's aor the one
leading the congregation he utters the
words that the K are going to repeat
back I always thought maybe you guys did
too well why does he do this perhaps so
they don't mess up the words I mean it's
not that hard I bless my kids every I I
know that words by heart but okay maybe
you're up there you're nervous you're
performing you have an audience I don't
know but that's what I thought just to
feed them the words is so they don't
mess
up it says like this he says he has a
different answer and it's most beautiful
thing and it falls into place with what
we're talking about tonight so the verse
says so shall you bless the children of
Israel
say to them so that's the
verse that the one leading the prayers
he says first to the Coen each word
mayem bless
you that the one leading the prayers is
acting as an intermediate intermediary
between God and the ones and the the
one's
[Music]
blessing he says first to the co you
shall be
[Music]
blessed and then comes down a blessing
or Providence shef is a you know a flow
of positiveness by the way of these
pipes coming from
heaven kades
so that the Coen should be a full
overflowing right he's the one giving
he's the one obligated to give and
perhaps he's just below the lid right
the it's not full so the blesses him
first and then he becomes an overflowing
vessel and in turn then He blesses the
people I read
it so he should be a full vessel to
bless the um with the blessings of God
and only afterwards then he pours the co
shall pour from a full vessel onto the
children of
Israel because then it's more appal this
blessing is
more it has more presence and
it's
when when the person actually giving the
Braha is blessed and full of blessing
he's actually within the blessing itself
and he's the first
guy because how can someone bless who's
not blessed
themselves now we understand why it
says I will bless those who bless you
God is blessing the
Kim before they bless the Jewish people
by the
blessing them because he's acting as the
intermediary that before you bless the
con he's talking to con before the con
bless I'm going to bless you first
before you bless the others I'm going to
bless you first this is also by Abraham
before right before you bless others I'm
blessing you
first and this is by the Jewish
people in order to a full
vessel of the blessings of
God in order to um pour out upon you
from a full and protruding
vessel when it comes to the
curses there's no such thing it doesn't
work that's why it says and when they
curse you I will curse them right
whoever curses you I will curse
that's only
afterwards and now what it says over
here by there's a little between the
last two letters that symbolizes its
plural and I will bless and those who
bless you you know who's blessing us the
robin the many groups of people bless
and Jewish people L and robing but when
it comes to curses have no fear I know I
thought I wasn't going to get
political and they those but it's those
in singular thank you those who curse
you you don't see the Y I mentioned by
the the blessing you don't see the Y by
the curse which
is singular it's only individuals that
curse
us it teaches us that it's the robing
it's the masses that bless you that will
bless
them the ones who curs us will not be
the
masses certain individuals I can mention
a few my
name who people who are special
designated and separate and in very
inferior people and he mentions he
mentions kimr
nimro right very evil
guy and his friends and his his
partners because they're an individual
versus the masses their Mak their
thoughts are really nothing it's B it's
uh
[Music]
negated and now the last line on that
page so now we're going to deal with the
difference in
the in the word itself but let's start
off haar shouldn't have been consistent
in the
curse and those who curse you I will
curse using the word Kal in both
instances but it doesn't says a or a or
be consistent and use I will curse those
who curse you but either way it's
a uh what's the word um in both cases no
there is a
difference this is not the only instance
that you have such an inconsistency
verse chter 2 ver 30 it
says for those who honor me this is God
speaking for those who honor me I will
honor and those who scorn me I will
curse shouldn't it have said those who
scorn me I will
scorn again you have the the pair the
first two words match up those who honor
me I will honor and those who score me
the second part is not matched up it's
not
consistent they will be
cursed I think I
read well if you're going to use the
word scorn so shouldn't have said and
those who scorn me they will be scorned
thees he begins he says it seems to me
to explain it this following way first
he gives a little bit of a lesson in
three types of negative words that we
use these three languages of I'll use
curse right these three languages of
curse are as we're going to go through
them is one is more harsh than it's the
other in the order of their madrea in
the order of their level of harshness so
these three words are bizon Biz Biz is
to shame somebody to disgrace somebody
that's what we're using as scorn CLA
that is
cursed cursed and then auror is more
like damned I don't know if that's a
good
translation he
says that's the most lenient it's not as
harsh to be scorned is not as harsh as
the other
two it's like you're just refraining
from doing something you're not actively
doing something someone deserves a
certain honor and you're not giving it
to him where you follow like I don't
know let's say Trump or somebody came
into the room that deserves certain
honor and you didn't stand up for him or
he was you know giving a speech you
start talking on your telephone I don't
know ex exactly what would represent
some type of a scorn some type of a
shaming the person but it's a
sh it's a inaction so you're not
affording him the honor so it's so
obvious so that's a way of scorning
somebody he says that's the most lenient
the
lightest that the one who is shaming the
person is not acting properly and honor
able towards the person shaming like it
says and there's a verse
here which means it's in Bidar he's
scoring the word of hem but the rabbis
tell us this is a lesson I don't know if
a lot of people know this that on any
any day that a Torah reading is
happening and the Torah is out and it's
in the middle of being read you're not
allowed to leave the room to walk out of
the room that's the uh it's showing a
disgrace to the word of God he
says so the Torah is open being read and
you walk out so that is an example of a
disgrace and he gives another
one did
that now we're at the
word it can be used interchangeable to a
certain extent or it includes it
includes also the language of
disgrace as you can see in the verse
inim in Deuteronomy
21:23 El Elohim toy okay here's another
H that's very interesting when we had a
s hedrin and when someone was put to
death by one of the four ways of h
capital u
punishment he's then or she I think I
think a woman is examed from this but
he's then hung on a tree
and up until Sunset and then taken down
and
buried so if you do if one of 1
Commandments is not to leave this dead
body on the tree after the sun is
set so it says
that for a hanging a person is a curse
to AEM in other words we have the
obligation to hang them I.E after the
one of the four Capital punishments have
been Meed out but to leave him hanging
up too long is a curse to
Hashem and that's worthwhile talking
about it's a whole class in itself so
here we
have so you also have an inference of
this curse which is very powerful
itself it's very close to the language
of curse with the word
but guess what
the actually includes as I'm going to
say
is and nid is a type of excommunication
but it's a lighter excommunication then
you have which is even a harsher type of
excommunication and then you have a CLA
which is I don't know if that we said
damned I don't know if that's the right
English because that word a includes all
of these most harshest types of uh
behaviors
via and you should
know everything really is according to
both there's got two factors here one
who is the Criminal Who shamed and the
one who was shamed and what if they're
of the same class what if they're of the
same you know I don't know if that's
class is the same the right word to use
but they're both doctors or they're both
Engineers whatever it is they're very on
par so if one shame the other and the
other one needs to be shamed back for
we'll talk about uh it's got to be on
par right so what happens when it's not
like
that what happens when someone who's a
very inferior person very lowly person
they Grace or they curse a Elder could
be a sage someone who holds their head
up high a standing per a good standing
in
society I mean if he has to have a
punishment the punishment Should Be Me
ConEd mea meet out the crime so he's
going to like laugh you know I I don't
know what he did perhaps I I can't even
think of something shamed him a certain
way and if the shame is returned on him
what good did that do cuz he doesn't it
didn't it's not really a punishment for
a guy who and you know I don't know what
kind of uh a job you know sometimes they
used to talk about trash men but I think
being a trash man is a pretty good job
from what I hear but if imagine in the
days when they used to talk about trash
men not having such good job so imagine
if you know it's not a big punishment if
you punish the trash man with the same
thing that he did to the to Mr Trump
he's gonna laugh it's like no big
deal so it's a problem how do you meet
out of
punishment the the the the S the pain
that he feels is not even equal it
doesn't equal the damage that he
did because the person who's very lowly
he's not really concerned about his own
disgrace he's he maybe he that's why
Trashman is not a good example but let's
say a person who lives a very
disgraceful kind of life so it's not
really he's not concerned at all in
fact it's like a game in his eyes like
like just playing
around that's why we talk about someone
scorn to God right so God doesn't say
and those who scorn me I'll scorn them
he those who scorn me I'm going to
curse so he says and that's why it says
that's why
therefore you're not able to say by
God those who scorn me they will be
scorned you're talking about the damage
you cause to
hem but is there really any damage to
hem this is like a tongue twister
[Music]
so only someone who's really got a
very demented and sick outlook on life
and about himself can even imagine
scorning God is going to add I don't
know means I don't know in English
insult injury he's going to add I looked
up this word Kone it's like a vomit of
shame I mean he's really GNA pour it out
onto this guy who shamed
hasem because it goes according to the
the value of this of the victim not the
value of the person because that person
doesn't value that shame it's not really
going to teach him any kind of a lesson
so God's going to pour it out so to
speak so he says so to by Abraham see
who Abraham is very
special he had so many progeny he was
the man of the the father of So Many
Nations and all the people of his
Generations were like nothing compared
to
him therefore it's really not enough
that the person who curses him should
receive a curse as a
CLW a but those who curse you he's
really going to give it to him harsh so
you hurt the Jew okay I won't get too
political but you you hurt God's special
people it's going to come down on your
heart I'm just reading the words here o
huh you can get political when it comes
to that
it's going to be added to them the curse
according to the value
of but now in the positive when it comes
to the blessings and the
honor but this character trait this this
value is going to be equal when it comes
to the positive to bless those who bless
him and to and to honor those who honor
him
and from what it says over here and
those who curse you
so we see over in the second verse in Al
it talks about okay let's get this right
the the verse we're referring to and
those who bless you I will bless those
who bless you it's talking about Abraham
God is speaking about the Jewish people
when it comes to himself he doesn't say
those who bless me okay he says Those
Who scorn
me he cannot say by himself those who
curse me he says Those Who scorn me you
cannot use this concept of a curse
towards
heaven what could it possibly add or
what could possibly subtract same thing
he doesn't use the word bless me either
not bless me not curse me cuz you can't
bless or Curse
God hasem that it's more shy it's more
proper this language of scorn to someone
who who's not behaving honorably towards
the word of Hashem but where it comes to
man then it is fitting because he he's
amongst the those offenders he's off
being offensive
so he he's a lowly you know when you
compare us to God he's considered lowly
so he's not so and and and it's not so
bad to be lowly right the meek shall
inherit the earth that's a Jewish
[Music]
concept that's like the worst we can
accept or the best we can accept
of but once it gets past that point
that's something that we don't want
nobody wants to be cursed or even worse
than than
that and what it says over here in our
verse and I will bless those who bless
you and then later on in it
says Those Who honor me I will
honor these are two types of blessings
and they're not exactly the same God
never uses uh he doesn't have us write
ink for no reason everything has meaning
and everything is there for purpose so
the idea of those who bless you I will
bless and those who honor me I will
honor it's not exactly the same two
different
concepts when it comes to blessing a man
which the blessing is used by man not by
God the blessing used by man it's to add
right man will enjoy plenty and more so
blessing for more reboy increase that's
positive and that's by man
there's no such thing you can't add to
God you can't imagine what you could
even possibly add to God that he doesn't
add what can you possibly Grant God
through your
blessing the whole point is Just Praise
all we can do is
thanking right and we said God knows our
thoughts why do we have to show up and
Sh to thank God cuz he's read our mind
he knows what we need he knows what we
want way before we express it but we
have to give that
thanks so we don't use these words the
God never says Those Who bless me I Will
Bless but and even and that's not by
used by God and by man we don't use the
words I will bless those who bless you
I'm sorry uh I will honor those who
honor
you there is no comparison there's no
similarity at all to the honor you can
give a man like Trump you can't even
honor a guy like that you can't even
compare the honor that he's going to
get with someone who honors the who are
the inheritors of Hashem the inheritors
they they're going to be granted I'll
read in Hebrew H I read
again you cannot compare the honor one
person can give a friend another person
to
the that the people who study Torah will
receive the type of Honor They will
receive from hasem
me but there is a way to to make similar
these types
ofas it's really not in our hands to get
Bros right we talked about earlier that
the
the he's a
conduit the best kind of you should give
is by saying hashem's goodness should be
with you right you're not giving the BR
you're you going to be cond to it that
hashem's goodness should be with
you and with that BR he will be blessed
when he blesses that Hashem should also
be uh let me just read this again
because basically what we're saying
is that in that when we
say
right we're not saying blessed are you
Hashem I'm not blessing Hashem I'm
saying blessed blessed the word blessed
is you are the source of all blessings
you are where it's all coming from
you're where it's at everything in this
world is because of you and I'm
admitting it I'm thankful for it that's
that's what is so say
toone that the goodness shall shower
goodness upon you and the goodness of
Shem shall be with you with that
that I'm blessing him
with God in turn is going to bless me
when I bless someone
else not that I'm blessing God I'm
blessing someone else that he should
receive the shefa the fullness the
goodness of God I also receive the same
blessing I hope that that's really I
that's why I really kind of prepared so
if there's any questions well two things
uh one what went through my mind just
now was recently in Benet Brock they had
a um ceremony of Brave whatever to to
honor and bless the farmers who observe
shita and what I was thinking about was
here you had people who were making a
sacrifice and were following God's
commandment um for the sake of the
Commandment not doing it to be praised
or or honored or blessed but um I
remember the comment and and uh in the
paper that the the wisest men of the
community were in awe because
um it takes more
self-sacrifice to do what they did than
to sit and learn T all day um and I
thought it spoke volumes in terms of um
the value that was associated with the
Smith though very nice it's uh it's a
bigness I own it's a big test to to to
be a farmer and to but it's it's
necessary so yeah they definitely
deserve I me we said the blessing not
that we're we're being a conduit so uh
and I'm sure that these were using the
the the concept very wisely of being
sheel um being
lowly I mean that's really our goal you
know Yan says we're trying to promote
you in the community so if we can all be
when you're standing next to somebody
else anybody else if you don't think of
yourself as above him but below him and
we're going to I think we'll create
peace amongst the Jewish people so like
you follow what I'm saying the they
might have been the most um prominent
scholars in B Bron and everybody stands
up when they walk in the room and the
farmer walks in the room nobody nobody
stands up I mean I shouldn't say that
most likely nobody stands up maybe his
kids and here they are really honoring
these people and um you know it's just
going to be another seven years before
another shmita but every year more and
more farmers are keeping shmita
and the results I mean I remember last
year last seven years ago last shita
cycle that they published reports of the
people who kept shita and how well they
did with their Farms meaning after the
yeah yeah but no it was also in the
sixth and the eth you know all counts
part of the
blessing um I think the by the banana
Farmers the winter of that year killed
all of the schm all the nonita bananas
talking about in in the sixth and eighth
year or seventh year even and the ones
who kept shita and they could be like
right next to him like there's a fence
not like you know a mountain a fence and
and their bananas were not affected by
the freeze you can do your own research
on it and
see yeah yeah two banana Farmers right
next to each other it was a whole slew
wasn't just two yeah so it's a
tremendous sacrifice it's a tremendous
Faith sure you have to have I mean it's
like me telling you I don't know what
your profession is don't work for here
and how many of us can do that and yet
we expect the farmers to do
ITA the farmers are not only growing
crops for themselves and they're growing
crops so that others can eat them so
that they can sell them in order they a
living a huge Act of Faith so the um the
way the the ultra based works is that
the farm is basically handed over to the
court the Jewish
Court the fruits are still harvested and
sold but not in the normal way uh
there's no profit although though the
people who do the work get paid a daily
wage or some kind of salary even the
owner of the farm can be hired to manage
all that so it's we're like talking
about minimum wage you know when he had
his own farm and he knew what he was
making now he's making I'm going to I
don't know it's 80% less or 50% less
whatever but uh he's not starving for a
year but it's it's major sacrifice for
God so the the other comment I wanted to
make was um
I doin at Miss Mor which was C and
periodically Rabil exin comes in and the
do there and for those of you who don't
know who he is he's the founder of the U
International Fellowship of Christians
and Jews and it's the largest nonprofit
organization in Israel they raise well
over100 million a year from Christians
in the United States and Canada now the
Philippines South Korea and so forth
specifically to be used for Jewish
Charities for um for poor people for the
Ukrainian Jews who are making Al and so
forth and I've had discussions with him
where he said if they point to this one
p about those who
bless uh I will bless those that bless
Israel and I will curse those and they
take it very literally and that's what's
driving them to give the money to help
Jews especially in AR Israel and he says
that
um the100 million for the most part is
collected in small denominations it's
not coming from large donors it's coming
from hundreds of thousands of people um
and uh this is the the verse that
they all right I'm happy to announce
next week we have Rabbi
dine and I think it's uh the title has
something to do with Halloween and
demons I don't know exactly what
Halloween falls out on the calendar I'm
ashamed to
say um somewhere near the end of
October it's been a while since you were
in the old world but this year's on
Thursday night so that that's going to
be the topic and if if if we have a
large enough crowd I think we're going
to move to the room next door which I
heavily suspect that we will she'll let
your friends know should we bring
Halloween candy yes please bring your
own candy B yo C
to
