In 1968, Rabbi America Hana formed the
Jewish Defense League that advocated
strength and pride and discipline for
the Jewish people. The reason why he
founded the the organization is because
they were originally a group of Jewish
teachers who were being harassed in the
public schools. He wanted to learn the
lesson of the Holocaust where Jews
cannot go or were no longer willing to
go as lambs to the slaughter. And he
coined the term never again. Never again
will Jews go quietly when an anti-semite
just tells them move. Those days are
over. But he had a bunch of guys who if
there was an anti-semitic problem, they
dealt with it not by sending letters to
the mayor. They went and simply beat up
[music] the anti-semite. Rabakana coined
the term violence is always bad but
sometimes necessary.
