efficient way to learn about judaism right that's why what I mean and when I am when I got married so my wife and I can teach over a year right for me to a new Shiva my wife London seminary it's probably gonna be discussing the cynics you know three or four weeks right so my wife looked at me that's what you're learning in yeshiva live look what I learned today I learned I learned about this topic at that time at this information in that in region you're gonna spend four weeks talking about maybe you should maybe the tomatoes maybe shouldn't be able to Tomatoes maybe you should have to pay for the value of a pillow but not for the devaglia the madness is it a pillow would have been enough to say it's too cheap slight maybe I shouldn't have to pay anything because I did put a fence up there after all right maybe my sheep should help along to my neighbor there are all kinds of possibilities right that's what you're gonna discuss we don't even have a sheep her neighbors don't have to manufacture we don't even have access to a roof right so why are you studying this right what's the ends of that question why would anybody ever study this anybody okay so the answer is that we you can keep watching them say this one's male this one's female just want to mail this one's female so now I get the concept and now I could do it but it still can't tell somebody how to do it right so we're trying to get to that content right now again men are obligated to do that but you can imagine spending four weeks to get to some concepts which I might find out at the end of the day there are actually different opinions about what the concept is whether we're trying to get to this concept to that concept right if I don't have to do that that is not the most effective way to use my learning time right you could imagine if you came on this program and every morning you learned Gomorrah and that's all you did right so you'd walk away at the end of it I said Wow tell me about you learned and you say well I learned about what happens if a sheep falls off a roof like but what about shabbat daily much Bottineau and with prayer nope nothing about why how free will work so right anything about living with mindfulness and consciousness right no just talked about sheep right so that's not a practical use of your time plus not to mention what language is the mission of written in music last time mrs. written in Hebrew language is the gamarra written in Aramaic so in order to do this properly if learn Hebrew and Aramaic so any free time we have when we're not learning about sheep we're gonna work on your Hebrew and Aramaic grammar right so he's been 48 hours you day doing that for a year or two years you might get it down but it's just that if you're not obligated to do that then that's not how you're going to spend your time right but but the process of learning Amara is not about the information you're covering it's about learning the way of thinking right and community or rabbi do you think i should send my skids to this school or that's cool or rabbi tell me what's an appropriate way of disciplining a child right well kinds of questions like that why people have some rabbis that question like I might know a lot it's all hood so if you like if you're she pulls off a roof I'm your man right but like why would you governess for life advice right so what's the answer that question good so if you know the principles then you can figure out any new question that comes your way right now again you got to become a scholar to do that you can't just like no a page right but the more person knows Tom Wood the more they become that person who knows the principles and once you know the principles you could say listen you know if anybody you go so those questions what we need to know is the more basics which is something that unless you have a whole thing which you're not going to do unless you have seven and a half years of free time it then
