Shalom Al everybody welcome back to
we're in the the the the B mid we're
like in a side room we're kind of like
in gut we're in a little bit of Exile
we're here some of us making Titus we're
in the Titus making factory you know for
the Army for the soldiers for the Brave
and courageous soldiers for those who
want to come they can come a little bit
earlier and for those who don't come you
can also come earlier and you can come
and make
titas um I just want to mention what we
do here did I mention a warm welcome a
warm welcome Mom is like ah a warm hug a
warm welcome home to Torah uh what we do
here is we use the CLE car as the basis
for our discussion the CLE car and there
are Hebrew Source sheets that we'd like
you to use you don't get the color uh
you just get black and white but it's on
um in the description box below in the
YouTube description box there's a link
and you can get it and we encourage you
to learn Hebrew it's very
important and another idea is that we're
still facing an existential threat so we
ask everyone to continue to pray pray
with kavana show up early leave late
from the
vesset do right here's an example but
there's so many Jews all over Israel all
over the world doing to help our
soldiers I mentioned in the last few
weeks about a website called just one
thing where you can take on another um
Mitzvah or more time doing a mitvah more
doing a Mitzvah and that you would be
matched up with helping a soldier um
from a metaphysical point of view it's
not only going to help you but it's
going to help him her and the whole
world uh so we encourage you to come and
volunteer to make
tius um also our tfillin campaign is
still ongoing and this week we just
acquired another eight pair of tfillin
for the Army uh the truth is they
actually haven't all been paid for yet
and there's still great demand so down
below there is a in the description box
there is a link in which you could uh
donate um also we're really close to
finding our location which once we find
our location we won't be in such a
galute uh Exile situation but um I want
to share with you an idea that I shared
with the whole world on um on T tu
bishvat tu bishvat is exactly I didn't
realize this n months to the day of
first day of sukus anyway to the to the
holiday of
sukus and uh I mentioned then that I had
this idea it was a conception of an idea
that was would um come to fruition
batem um which was we would buy a safeer
Torah and we'd find a place this week
the manto for the safe T was finally
finished it's beautiful it's gorgeous
I'll put a picture batem at some point
in the future on our website and on our
Facebook page so you can get an idea of
how beautiful it looks but if anybody is
interested in participating in
partnering with us uh to build a library
um to help pay the rent whatever it is
that you can get in touch with me if you
want to dedicate the library in the name
of a loved one or for some purpose or
just for theim there's so many Jews that
are thirsty for the word of God and we
will be a uh a center where people could
drop in and
learn just to uh reiterate once again
what we deal with here is the essentials
the fundamentals of Judaism which are
absolutely life-changing and we hope and
pray right that we get some uh wisdom
out of tonight's sheer and we call MAK
deep thought to ponder and meditate on
and I have no doubt because it's just my
inability to give over the information
but I have no doubt if you study the
cleard properly you will be a changed
person so let's start in chapter 3 verse
23 of
Deuteronomy I'm only going to read the
first it's a very short verse uh it's
like six
words that's it and I pleaded with
Hashem at that time saying of course we
all know this is the great prayer of
mosenu he wants to enter the land he's
already been it's been decreed upon him
that he's not going to enter the land
and yet we know the power of Prayer in
this case the answer was no but uh we're
going to find out why he prayed the way
he prayed this should and I'm telling
you it has affected my prayer how I pray
how I think of prayer um and I hope that
this information we're going to call it
Divine information is conveyed over to
you that which should
also um change the way you pray as well
so the Rashi we're only going to read
the first five lines of Rashi on this
page meaning the first part so why does
the word what is the root it's it's
Grace what is Grace Grace
is
undeserved reward okay it there's no
nothing you have done to deserve the
grace it's for someone who is
undeserving okay so Moshe is asking that
thean he's actually pleading his prayer
is as we will see from Rashi it's really
a free gift but wait till we hear Rashi
we're going to unravel Rashi because if
you look at Rashi I'm going to tell you
the way I've read Rashi for years I
didn't understand this Rashi until I use
the ma there's a key that opens up Rashi
and not only is it the kakar but is rebi
the maral so many great commentators
help us understand rashi rashi says the
word from the
word is and its derivatives in all cases
in all
cases is an expression signifying
requesting a free gift asking for a free
gift now that's going to be a statement
and then he makes another statement that
even though the righteous
May base request on the Merit of their
Good Deeds now those words Good
Deeds my thought pattern had always been
like they call resting on your
laurels something you have already
accomplished that is and I hope I'm not
steering you in the wrong way because
the clear is not going to read it like
that but that's how we're reading it
even though the righteous May base a
request they're asking something from
Hashem based on their Good Deeds I'm
going to just add the words we may think
it means you're
past they won't they request only a free
gift so what is being told to us really
is that Moshe prayed for a free gift he
didn't rely on His abundant
basket of Mitzvah and Good Deeds that
he's already done but what do they do
they request only a free gift from
Hashem and why is that how do we because
God said to Moses in um Exodus
33:19 he said I shall make all my
goodness pass before you and I shall
call out with the name of hasem before
you I shall show favor when I shall show
choose to show favor and I shall show
Mercy when I choose to show
Mercy
the we don't have that verse here but
that's the whole verse
so Moses based on what Moses learned in
chapter 33 of of Exodus he comes
pleading asking for a favor that's
really so he's actually done it and he's
teaching us something as well so let's
go into the clear the Hebrew
sheets by the way this the English
sheets I gave is somewhat of a
translation so for those who are not um
able to read the Hebrew follow the
English rash Rashi says in the
Hebrew even though even though the
righteous people who are righteous are
able this is incredible they're able to
hang or make
dependent their pleading on
their on their good acts right
being
kind nevertheless rash
says they will not do this the only
thing they're interested in requesting
is a free
gift first of
all again we might think that MIM toim
is talking about our past clear and he's
telling us that even sadim who have
passed Good Deeds are not going to trade
them in this is maybe the way you think
not sure but the clear
says it's a very good question we have a
good question on this he
asked from where in the world would you
come up with this idea from where would
it come upon your
mind that they would ever trade in right
or right you have a a pin class A book
of all the things you did that you're
going to you know flip it through and
try to get uh some favors for it why
would you ever think that a righteous
person would ever do such a
thing this is like it's a rhetorical
statement but it's basically
saying how could a person ever think
that God owes
you right I did this this I got a wad
full of you know receipts so to speak
right that I did all these mitzvah
I'm going to trade him in God owes me
you know you come up to the counter and
you expect the theen the storekeeper to
give you something in return for your
coupons or whatever it
is where in the world would a person
ever think that um that God owes
them for all the Mitzvah that a person
does there's not there's like just not
enough
um how would I translate
this as it says in Isaiah
59:18 so according to their deeds he
shall repay of course hasem paid so
there's nothing that he still owes us
immediately when you do something right
whether it's stored away whatever it is
but it's paid immediately Hashem pays so
what do you think he still owes you
there's some kind of right
hasem certainly paid the person for
anything that he
did it's a very interesting p in Psalms
verse2 it says over
there all the goodness already Hashem
has paid for whatever was done
can you imagine from the day we were
actually conceived until we came out and
Hashem has given us health and food and
shelter and even when we didn't we
somehow he somehow took care of
us he he supplies to every living
creature what they need and so we owe
him he's been providing us we owe him he
doesn't owe us a thing
I really when I go through this every
time um it's such a beautiful saer the
duties of the heart and I really want to
learn it with you guys or learn it in
general again and again and again it'll
just change your whole view of of being
an evem and being a Jew and for those
noahides out there to be a a Noah this
is from duties of of the
heart that it is not prop it's improper
for one to trust in his own good deeds
right that's what resting on your
laurels means someone who has a
tremendous amount of trophies on their
shelf and says listen I accomplished I
have nothing left to accomplish I I can
just rest on the fact that I have I
think the Laurels were actually those um
crown for the Olympics back in 2000
years ago but that's what it means so
nobody should trust on their own good
deeds and assure themselves that they
will receive receive reward in this
world and the next due to his Good Deeds
we know that Hashem provides right Scara
Onish reward and punishment but you're
not going to rely on your own Good Deeds
that you have a free meal ticket rather
what should you do you should strive and
exert yourself to do good and to make
efforts to thank God this I think is his
K because the way I read it in Hebrew
it's I think that's one of the main
things here is to be on the thanking end
not the constant whining and complaining
in figure out what is good figure out
what is good and be on the thanking end
and be grateful for his constant
kindness to the person and not be
motivated by hope a future reward for
your Deeds of course you're going to be
rewarded don't worry rather you should
actually trust in God and try his best
try the person's best to pay his debt of
gratitude the debt of gratitude for
hashem's great favors that he bestowed
upon the person as our sages actually
said in pero chapter 1 mishna 3 do not
be like servants who serve their Master
on condition of receiving a reward
rather be like servants who serve their
Master without the condition of
receiving a reward and of course let the
fear of Heaven be upon you this is a
small paragraph from
I was about to take you on a journey
into gamar Bros if you turn the Hebrew
sheets to the second side kazal tell us
hisu was actually guilty of relying on
his own actions let me just take that
decline on his own
actions he actually says in 2 Kings
20:3 he says please Hashem remember now
that I have walked before you faithfully
and wholeheartedly and I have done what
is good in your eyes what he was trying
to do is save yush so yush was under
siege in fact in the San Valley shil you
have the mayil you have a tunnel that
was built or let's say carved out by's
troops and and servants and the Jewish
people at the time with the onslaught of
the
Assyrians so he asked Hashem remember
now Z remember now
I yeah do it for for me I don't know if
you want to call
that but Hashem did not respond so
positively to him now you don't see that
in the in the text but if after I tell
you what it says you will Now understand
it says over there in three verses later
verse six what does Hashem do he doesn't
save Yan because of his he actually says
I will protect this city for my sake and
for the sake of my my
servant I'm gonna protect the city for
for my
sake and for David my servant okay so
what was Heaven what was Hashem telling
him let's go back to the Hebrew
Hezekiah was
guilty what was his
guilt he made the pendant his actions
when he said remember now how I've
walked before you truly and
wholeheartedly but hem responded and put
the Merit on others it's because of King
David or for my sake at least
because from Heaven God
[Music]
showed he doesn't really have this man
he was righteous like I said he was a
potential
mesiah he already consumed he already
ate whatever payro whatever fruit
whatever merits he
had and actually what was fulfilled
in was the same thing that yov himself
said in Genesis
32 verse 10 we have that anywhere on the
sheets no but it doesn't it's
okay
basically yov says
to I have become so small from all the
kindnesses what does that mean I have
become small because
you don't owe me anything I owe you I'm
small that what do you think when we say
the word to toada is actually admission
from the word v is confession H is
admission and to is thank you what are
you saying saying when someone gives you
something does you a favor you're saying
I owe you in other words instead of
saying I owe you you just say thank you
but what you're really saying is I
actually owe you something now
so I have become small from all the
kindnesses he see the word hod
he what yakob was doing was saying that
he is considered so small and poor in
mitzah Weak mitas poor mites from the
aspect of all the all of the kindness
that he already received other words in
relation to that the he's the CLE car is
now going back to
rash how could it possibly be said of
sikim that that they could say you know
what I did so many good things I could
ask him make my request but I won't
something is fishy here something
doesn't make sense according to the CLE
car because sadik would never do that we
have examples of
yov and the proof that the cleor wants
to bring is from the first verse that we
actually quoted it's not on your pages
but it was the quote from um Exodus
33:19 where Moses said I will show favor
where I shall show favor I mean God says
this to Moshe and I will show Mercy when
I choose to show Mercy
Mery and so when is that the CLE car
explains that's going to be where the
person has nothing in their pocket they
don't have any merits Anan so the cleart
says you can't even bring a proof from
here the only thing that that verse in
Exodus 339 is talking about is someone
that does like Moses he doesn't have a
lot of Mer mosha has a lot of merits but
the this p is talking about someone who
doesn't then Hashem will act with
Grace we're talking about MOS
here his punishment for his sin was that
he was not allowed to enter the land
so what is the relationship why are they
trying to bring this in this whole
Rashi to this idea as it mentioned in
Exodus 33:19 what does that have to do
with Moshe it's a different category
it's like a different human being Moshe
is like an angel and he's done so many
MIT and yet the Rashi brought in this
verse doesn't make
sense there's no question that Moses you
think he's going to be be worse because
he has merits than someone who didn't
have anything that he cannot rely on
this that's why he's asking for it well
we'll see soon so the clear continues
with his answer he's going to wrap it
all up into a beautiful
idea we had read in the Rashi right this
is what they say you know what sadim
could but they won't they could hang or
rely on their good
acts CLE
says do not think I mean I would slap
the table I would say drum roll please
there's no other tables
around you cannot explain this as
resting on your laurels as having a wad
of receipts of having under your belt so
many Mitzvah that cannot be the past as
we thought or maybe I made you think
that way I don't know how you thought
when you first heard that that Rashi I
certainly thought that no it has nothing
to do with the
past the all he wants to do is Ser hasem
he wants to trade in what the future I
don't know you know even the future may
or may not come about we're going to see
that that could be why if you're really
humble you're really honest it's not in
your hands to predict the future or to
know what the future may bring so but he
says rather what is theim that theim
could or but they won't trade in so to
speak is the future
actions a must means in a general terms
or most likely any person who's
considered righteous is not going to
request any physical Pleasures that's
not what we're looking
for but rather and these are very strong
words and hopefully at the end we'll
we'll try to understand them it's only
in order to fulfill more Mitzvah it's
only that there should be place I want a
house why so I can do the Mitzvah
of I can have many guests for shabas um
I can build a uh fence on my roof so
people don't fall off I mean just having
the the fence on the roof is a Mitzvah
there's so many things I could do with a
house is it for my own personal
enjoyment or is it in order to serve
Hashem that's what a sadic he has in
mind nothing on the physical level of
pleasure but rather only in order to
serve Hashem through his Mitzvah and
this is what rabi SIM in gor
14a speaks of about and I do have it
here somewhere and we will have to look
at it and it asked a
question you think Moses wanted to go
into the land to eat the dates of uh of
tiberias you think he wanted the the
oranges of yaffa and we can go on and on
and on you think that's why he wanted to
come into the land to eat the delicious
fruits no so let's see in where is it on
on the sheet did you find it it's
probably the last sheet right I just
have an extra page so okay I think it's
worth reading because we should
understand so to
14a Rabbi Sim taught for what reason did
Moses our teacher greatly desire to
enter the land of Israel did he need to
eat its produce or did he need to satis
satisfy himself from its goodness no you
know what Moses wanted to do he wanted
to
so many Mitzvah that were that you can
only do
in rather this is what Moses said to
himself to God many Mitzvah were
commanded to the Jewish people and some
of them can be fulfilled only INR so I
will enter the land in order that they
can all they can all be fulfilled by me
now even when we read that we think that
means that all the
Mitzvah can be fulfilled through one
person
we already know that's not the case
right many Mitzvah were given just to
the men some to the women some to the
levies some to the Coen some to Farmers
some to Merchants okay so this is a very
cryptic um and spiritual understanding
of the gor
which at the end we will reveal what
this
means um we will be reading Isaiah 53
verse2 which is Messianic or we could
say it refers to Jewish people
specifically it refers to MOS
but we're going to get into that
continue the holy woman Blessed Be he
said to him and these are I want to go
through this little quickly but we
should understand what it's
saying God said to Moses do you seek to
enter the land to perform these mites
for any reason other than to receive a
reward we already spoke about the idea
of not being a servant that does Mitzvah
in order to receive a
reward so how can be God be asking him
that but nevertheless God says I'm going
to give you the reward word you want to
do the Mitzvah but you can't he has his
own his own reasons why I could actually
tell you a little bit of what the CLE
card describes it may come as a shock to
many of you we seem to infer the Torah
itself seems to infer that the the sin
of motion not going into the land is
because he hit the rock instead of
speaking to the Rock I find that and the
cleart finds that just an excuse already
before Moses leaves Egypt right Moses
complaining to
hasem in chapter 6 of Exodus it's the
last verse of
paros Hashem said to Moses now you will
see what I will do to Pharaoh for with a
now just keep in mind that Moses had
just complained to Pharaoh listen you
made things worse I'm sorry Moses had
just complained to God you made things
worse and um God is actually telling him
now you will see what I will do to
Pharaoh Rashi there says I'm going to
show you what I'm going to do to Pharaoh
but you're not going to see what I'm
going to do to the 31 Kings the Seven
Nations in Israel so there was already a
decree then when he
complained we all know that if Moses
would have built the temple if he would
have come into the land and built the
temple that Temple could never be
destroyed that could also possibly be
the reason why David was not able to be
to build the temple the temple itself is
a mishan the word mishan is the same
word as mishon a guarantor it act as a
guarantor if we would sin in the future
then the right the collateral would have
to be taken we are really the true
collateral for our own sins however
Hashem made this mishan as a collateral
for our sins so instead of us being
punished or being uh destroyed the
temple was
destroyed okay
so it was
Aid right that that Moses actually
didn't come into the land of Israel
we're going to see hopefully at the end
the Ben and what he has to say about
this whole idea and how it relates to
the suffering servant Moshe is the
suffering servant mosha is equal to all
of Israel all of Israel is no doubt
spoken about as being the suffering
so whether you speak of Moshe on one
deorah says if Moses was on the scales
and he was on one side all of Israel was
on the other he gave his life for us I'm
already alluding to certain things in
Isaiah 53 but hopefully we'll get to
that towards the
end so this gamor so to 14a goes through
some of these ideas that um Mo God says
to Moses I'm going to give you the
credit is if you perform them and you
will receive your reward
therefore in Isaiah
53:12 right it says therefore I will
divide him a portion among the great and
he shall divide the spoil with the
mighty because he Beed his soul unto
death who and was numbered with the
transgressors yet he bore the sin of
many and made intercession with the
transgressors keep in mind the
Christians use this for some reason I
can't really figure it out
yet thank God uh but they use this for
whatever they use it for the gorah
itself says it's talking about Moshe
rabenu what does it mean so Rabbi simai
proceeds to expound the verse as follow
when we read the verse therefore I will
divide him a portion among the great
what does that mean to mean that he will
receive
reward Moses God said you're going to
get the reward we have this whole idea
and I maybe I should stop here now just
to explain we have this idea and every
Jew knows if you want to do a Mitzvah
but something prevents you you're not
able to do it what happens God gives you
credit as if you did it that's what we
say that's what we know but it's much
deeper than
that you want to do the Mitzvah that's
called kavana another Jew does the
Mitzvah without kav hasem
is the thought your thought to his
action or her action and he's giving you
Equal Credit it's an amazing thing
so Moses had in mind he wanted to do the
Mitzvah and who is he to us he's rabenu
he's our teacher he's our mentor of
course we learn from him how how how
else do we know about the 613 Mitzvah
other than through him the the Merit
that he has that he taught us and he had
intention to do it but he never got to
fulfill it but we all did when we came
into the land M there's a connection
between him and the rest of the Jewish
people which we already said anyway
anyway on on a scale and he gave his
life for
us um let's continue so when he when
that's what it says well therefore I
will divide a portion among the great
that he's going to receive the reward so
you might have thought that he will
receive reward like the later ones
meaning the the the generation of the
desert and not like the earlier ones
earlier ones being Abraham Isaac and
Jaca who are considered Mighty in Torah
mixes but no he'll be the he shall
divide the spoil with the mighty even
with them Abraham Isaac and Jacob
because he Beed his soul unto death
meaning he gave himself over to death on
behalf of the Jewish people we all know
right Mo God says I'm going to wipe you
out I'm going to sorry I'm going to wipe
out the Jewish people and start all over
with you and mo Moses return He says yet
now in Exodus
39:32 if you forgive their sin he's
begging he's pleading that God forgive
us and if he doesn't forgive us that
Moses himself should be blotted out I
pray you out of your book that you have
written now every Sonic no matter what
comes out of his mouth has a sense of
certain sense of reality even though the
conditions are met or not met there's
going to be consequences to the sadic
mentioning uh these words what does it
mean and he was numbered among the
transgressors meaning he was counted
among those who died in the desert
because he never came into the land of
course he he counted among those who
died in the desert he never entered ER
sh yet he bore the son sin of many he
had toned for the incident of the golden
calf he himself forget the fact that we
already mentioned the cow was called by
his name remember that it was a very
strange Shure that the the cow the red
cow the paradom is called by his name
it's got his name on it because he
started and he finished right he um he
ground up the the gold calf into a fine
powder and that was the beginning and he
finished it off with the paruma with the
uh the purification
process uh and he made intercession the
word
y he made y intercession in Hebrew it
means prayer he requested Mercy for the
Sinners of Israel so they should engage
in Repentance that's what he begged that
uh that his name would be blotted out
and the Jews should be forgiven of
course the Jews were forgiven and you
know that the paraa right before he has
to be blotted out that par his name does
not appear at all so in other words even
though he asked God to blot him out on
condition never the conditions weren't
fulfilled nevertheless his name was
still blotted out in a sense because if
you do the full year cycle it's the
furthest away from the time that he
requested to be blotted out that his
name is not mentioned at all
in so anyway going back to the word Pia
means nothing other than prayer and we
know that from Jeremiah
7:16 therefore pray not you for this
people neither lift up cry nor prayer
for them neither make
intercession TI go to me for I will not
hear you so this just is a proof text
that TI we also know by yaku he was uh
by the um dream with the latter that
word also
appears so turning back to the CLE car
we we now are clear I mean he's going to
make it clearer for us but that the CLE
car is not at all happy with this idea
of us thinking that it was past Mitzvah
and Good Deeds but it has to do with
Future Good Deeds we read so the 14a and
going back into the gar I will just go
back into what he says
we about five lines down that so many
Mitzvah are dependent on the land of
Israel if that's the
case then with I would say with absolute
certainty he doesn't say that he says
that's the case certainly he would have
to made his request dependent on the
actions he would be about to do H if he
would in the future if he would go
through and live in the land of
Israel the CLE says this is absolute
truth that means according to the letter
of the law in other words the way logic
dictates that God would give Moses
anything that his heart desired and what
was his heart to fulfill the Mitzvah and
as I just laid the groundwork he
actually fulfilled all the Mitzvah
through us
okay there's no question that the only
thing that Moses desired was to do what
God wanted him to do to do God's
Will from the word even though that
through his sin there was a
penalty that was a penalty upon him
now imagine someone gets punished like
Moses we thinking there's a punishment
and his to remain in
karts any Jew who lives outside the land
and I'm sorry to tell you this guys any
Jew who lives outside the land of Israel
it's as if he has no God which means
idol worship it's you're living in a
place of Tuma of
impurity and I'm just reading the words
here what are you going to say to
somebody who's already
sinning go ahead continue or be on be on
the way to serve in a in a foreign way
uh right we know that the concept of
aara means to either worship God in a
strange way we know there are four ways
to serve Hashem and if you serve hem in
a different way that's improper or to
serve a foreign deity in the one of the
four ways we serve Hashem
that's called will anybody know the four
ways tip of your
fingertips
right yeah how are the four
ways huh
prayer VOD what's that mean VOD what
does that mean you have to Define
it okay so incense bowing down
and okay so those if you do that to a
different deity that's AAR or if you
serve hem in ways not like these four
ways that's that's out of worship too
okay and the clear card just got done
saying so there's like what even though
there's this um because of his sin
there's this
penalty you're not going to punish The
Sinner by telling him go and worship
what you're adding I'm going to use the
words insult to injury you're you're
you're pushing him further along the way
to sin more he's already in a bad
situation as it is as a sinner and then
what are you going to do like the
today's uh penitentiaries in America
right they're supposed to what's the
word make you a better person they're
supposed to rehabilitate just imagine
someone is for what they call a
firsttime offense guy came from a good
background he made a mistake by the time
he gets out he's the Kingpin of you know
he knows everything about thievery and
robbery and you know just his life is
going to be made worse I'm not against
pen Penitentiary for se but there's got
to be a better
way but it's because of his great amount
of
humility and I'm going to use the word
honesty right humility and honesty are I
think par you really have to ponder on
that one through real humility true
humility from a great amount of humility
he did not want to make dependent his
request on those positive acts that
could happen in the future in order to
come into ER
Israel because what if perhaps maybe he
would end up coming into the land and
being distracted by the jafa oranges in
the dates from tiberias or G or the
water from uh inti so delicious
rightz maybe he'll come in and out do
the
Mitzvah and the only thing that he would
really receive would be all the
physical treasures and benefits of this
world that
and the real good the real good he would
end up not
receiving and that's why he used this
language of
Grace of a free
gift man just undeserved reward can you
imagine every time we stand and we pray
and we know we need something we think
of all the reasons why we need it we
make all these and the truth is none of
that matters just ask for a free gift
just it's going to make it's going to
make the difference in your prayers cuz
cuz thinking that you have you know
whatever called notches on your belt or
on your gun or you know the receipts in
your little box what it's it's such I
don't know if it's but it's uh we all do
it we all do it and now we understand
why it says laymore in the very first
verse right when we said what the verse
meant I implore to
at that time
saying what
is he made that request where he was at
the moment not based on the past not
based on the future just based on his
thoughts alone they were positive but
not necessarily on the ideas of
fulfilling misses in the
future he didn't have any uh Merit of
the future to rely
Ono it's almost like saying it was
without envisioning without anticipation
of anything of the Future Would U when
he would come into the land that was
like it's like a blank
slate meaning that in the end his
request might have been but it wasn't
that he would end up doing mites when he
came in he didn't make that request
why because he didn't know if those
requests would even um to enter the lamb
would even be fulfilled so he couldn't
have he true um humility is really
connected with honesty to really see
reality as it is not as we dream it to
be or Envision it to
be and now we understand why the
language was
used that he needed it was actually a
requirement to request for a free gift
not based on past not based on anything
of future now what I'd like to do is go
to the Ben you don't have it um and only
read see it's like it's really long it's
like two pages but I'm going to try to
stick just to uh the first uh 10 or 15
lines
so the gor this
the on the gor
14a and he was referring to this verse
in order that they can all be fulfilled
by me right what does that
meanes that all the Mitzvah can be
fulfilled by me that's the
words the explanation is what I Moses
what I can fulf pH right now through
speech and thought alone obviously he's
not coming into the land but at least
they he's asking that all the Jews who
go into the land they're going to
fulfill the Mitzvah and I'm going to get
the credit I'm going to get some
credit so even though I'm not coming in
all I have right now is thought and
speech but they will be fulfilled
through an action he he was hoping
that's what it means
kades or he says the could
be that even though they're going to be
fulfilled the Mitzvah are going to be
fulfilled by all the
Jews remember mosha was the greatest of
the generation who
beom that if he would have done it he
would have reached the highest
places
sh shal where if he would have done it
it would have reached
the it's proves really that all the
Mitzvah that Israel does includes and
hangs on his mitzvas on his
action in order that entire world will
be brought up with
MOS there actually is a place for every
single Jew to be included in this
Andes as we said already in order they
should be fulfilled through
me
so basically this idea in the gor says
what you think he's going there to eat
the fruit
or to benefit from the goodness of the
land PR PR yeah it's it could be that's
the question that it's just talking
about the the
fruits
um and you may think it means to be
satisfied from all the goodness of the
land flowing with milk and honey and
including this
and all the delicious uh foods like uh
meat and chicken and all that
stuff so he
says Hashem said you know what all of
them you request obviously in order to
receive reward so the mar asked don't we
learn
in we saw that you should not um be like
a slave serving his master in order to
receive a reward he
says there actually is a different type
of reward
that look forward
to you know what the wants to do he
wants to give Merit to
others right why do you think you have
teach is teaching I mean you think they
get a big salary they don't get any it's
all the world to come they want to M at
the they want to cause the masses to be
righteous right and that's not anybody
everybody should be a teacher we we talk
about this in our lessons I want you
guys to teach teach teach right in fact
the way to learn is to learn in order to
teach we speak about that you only know
Olive face teach Olive face you only
know one PK in the Torah teach it you
only know the headings right the
headings of the five books of Moses
teach it to somebody you know how many
Jews don't know the
shma we are teachers you just accept it
that's what we are find your own Niche
find out how you can teach but here he
says that what they want to do is not
just give Merit to others but that all
the Mitzvah that are weak that are not
being fulfilled properly perhaps they
don't have enough power kak and
Perfection to go up to that highest
place that they would be connected to
your own Mitzvah whether you were the
teacher like MOS taught us or that Moses
thought about and spoke about it and
then people ended up fulfilling it so
too with the teachers
that's what AIC would like to
do and that in order to bring it all on
a much higher level there is a
tremendous amount here we're going to
leave it here at this but anybody that
wants can send me an email I'll send
them
the
and um I think that if we really
meditate and think about how we approach
Hashem with
humility right that hasem I am so small
compared to all the greatness and
goodness that you've given me and we
think
about um that Hashem doesn't owe us
anything we owe him that when we
approach hem in our prayer and it's not
our personal prayer but our National
Prayer bem if we come with true humility
it'll make a huge difference to our own
lives and the lives of people around us
we'll become better people the Jewish
people will be elevated and I also
encourage you
to again to is one of the Mitzvah that
help so we to figure out how to do many
people don't know how to give to rebuke
properly of course they we have to
rebuke ourselves first don't overdo it
right but we have to start with
ourselves once we clean ourselves up
then we can be a role model for others
and that alone could be the way we end
up giving rebuke but batem everyone
should have a great chabas a great week
and a great life and we'll see you B
next week
