Yes for everybody to come for coming and taking some time and sharing some of your experiences with the ambassador designate designate Mr. Mark Walker who has so graciously agreed to come on this visit and come and participate tonight. his mandate, God willing, bear hashem, his mandate will be to help try to fight anti-semitism around the world and maybe we'll be able to share some of the experiences and your experiences where you've encountered with anti-semitism around the world. >> The shul the synagogue where we pray every day about 10 months ago was burned down by three arsonists which later on turns out to be sent by Iran that was paid for through third parties. That's what it turned out to be after investigations. What was the reaction of the community? What was the reaction of the city itself or Australia, the broader uh country? >> I would say mostly shock and most of Australian even non-Jews and unaffiliated Jews and a lot of non-Jews came. There was people coming from 2 hours away, non-Jews, with an envelope with $200 in it saying, "I want to help rebuild this." >> Government did step in. They did. >> Government pledged they're giving $30 million to rebuild the Shaw. We received this very shocking tragic news of a terrorist attack in synagogue in Manchester Yamipo in the morning. This attack which happened happens to be the person who lives right in the area of the terrorist. He even rents his apartment from a Jewish person. Suddenly would never have expected to happen. >> You made earlier today about some of your observations in America that this should not be happening in America. The types of things that are happening. No doubt it and it takes intentionality to stop it. That's something that's very important. >> There's a court case going on right now. They caught two people who bought trying to buy machine guns in order to do a mass massacre of Jewish people. They were just looking for the target. And thank God they were found and they're standing trial now in Manchester. But these are the things which are coming which our sages tell us that if there's no government, one person eats up the other one. We see it in England with a weak, very weak government response. It doesn't help if our prime minister and our king comes to visit the synagogue after we've been killed. We need them to step in before we get killed. Anybody who wears a kipa scared of getting killed, it sounds like one of those places where we ran away from after the Second World War. It needs a strong government to stand up, say what's right and say what's wrong, and ignore all the French people out there who they know how to shout the loudest, but they're a minority. >> Powerful. >> If the government, British government doesn't do something, it's I tell the Jews that it's time to leave. Last night I watched about 10 minutes of an interrogation of of a gentleman in the UK whose only crime, if you will, was he was wearing the Star of David that the authorities would uh arrest him, put him in handcuffs, take him to the police station, interrogate him all night for 10 hours. That that should trouble all of us. And we hope that uh Prime Minister Starmer and others will take more of a bold stand. Uh part of my job once through the Senate hearing, hopefully in a few weeks, uh we want to be over there with those meetings to be able to um uh spread light or bring light to some of those issues that we see in the UK. In Belgium now is is slaughtering the last two years. You can't do anymore. Actually [clears throat] half a year ago, a few policemen came into a house of Tumo Alim and they just took all the stuff away, some money away. And what was the story? Nobody knows exactly if you can tell us shortly your plan. How do you how do you translate all your great ideas into action? How do we how will you fight the anti-semitism? >> Whether it's places where anti-semitic behavior is on the rise, you have to go and address those. You have to show up. You have to talk about that in person. You just can't put out a tweet or a social media post or something. So that was bad. They shouldn't do that because there's no teeth in that, right? you have to go visibly to engage to show up and challenge. My role that's written into law in 1998 uh is the principal adviser to the secretary of state to President Trump on international religious matters. Uh so what I lay out is kind of a three-step strategy. We first must engage the issues. Uh then we must expose the issues and when at all possible we must eradicate those issues. The Nazis, you know, they came, every place they came, they tried to burn the burn the the the books in order to to erase the Torah from the Jewish people. What Abu Dhhat is doing, this is the answer to that thing. thousands of people learning the Torah and continuing the Jewish nation because we know this is the um this is the this is our mission in the world. If you want to bring morality to the world, we want to do good to the world. So when you do what what you're supposed to do, what you see what's straight what you're supposed to do, that's what will bring the good to the world. President Trump Trump would have said this worldwide organization Duo makes the world great again. [laughter] If you go through history and you look through military history, this country has won wars which don't make any sense. There have been one against 70. Yes, >> there have been one sheep against 70 wolves. They should have been eaten up the first day. The only reason we're still around is because of the power and the holiness of our learning. Obviously, we need soldiers on the battlefield, but the strength they're getting is from us terrorist scholars learning. And if the American government has a way of giving over that feeling to the Israeli government, that would be something which would be a a big help in the challenges which our community is facing >> where um as far as dear shoe and how it's a maybe a backbone of of how God protects and how God works through the country. Uh I'll give you an example in America where we have failed. Now we have a generation or two that believes uh that the government is the solution not God. It has they have taken God out of things that have created a void and made up their own religion. Uh and that's what we're battling in the US even currently is how do we how do we get that how do we get our country back? We we align we partner with you and I think one of the things uh uh that great things about dear is you are strong in your positions. You can articulate those positions. You can raise families uh who are strong in those positions. Uh those are the kinds of things that communities and nations are built on that are going to last for for a long
